PADAWAN

Din Djarin: bounty hunter, father, Mand'alor and...Force wielder? He needs help and who better to help him but Ahsoka Tano.

A/N: I love the story of Din Djarin and Grogu. I don't need anything else. Also I am writing this because of the force/my inspiration Pedro Pascal and not for monetary gain. I have spoken.

Note: The chapters might sometimes be long or short depending on the story plot.

Please don't be shy to review and tell me what you think. Thank you!

CHAPTER 14

HOW TO TRAIN A MAND'ALOR

Part 8

Chapter 13: Force Ghost

Ahsoka closed her eyes and entered that psychic tunnel… when she reached the end of it there's a pale cloud-like form with a blue center…that is Din's aura! She needs to reach him… she willed her psyche to go flow faster but she slowed down… as if she had reached a barrier… she tried to push against it but nothing happened…Din's energy was slowly and dangerously shrinking and fading…

'What is going on?! Din!'

Ahsoka gasped as she felt another aura enter the mind meld and joined hers and Din's; it floated over the Mandalorian! Din's life aura absorbed it and his energy became stronger….

'Din Djarin, I chose you… Don't let me down!' The voice repeated in the echo.

Then the voice spoke in her mind….'He would need you...you would need him…'

Wide-eyed with shock and surprise, Ahsoka finally found her voice, 'Who are you? What are you doing here?'

Teach him….train him…better than you…better than me…

"Mistress? Mis-tress!" Yuno shouted from the window. The boy jumps up and down trying to see what's happening inside. Yuno had wondered why the Jedi sounded that way. She had never talked to them like that before and she seemed worried. The master! Is he worse? Now he's worried too! Yuno cupped his hands over his mouth. "Mistress Ahsoooo-kaaaa!"

"What happened?" One of the boys asked when Yuno unhappily shambled back from the side of the cottage.

"Is she angry at us?" the smallest and youngest of them asked.

"No, she's not." Yuno gave the boy's bald pate an affectionate rub then scratched his own head in confusion. "Something is happening…I think the master is in trouble." Yuno frowned, teeth worrying his lower lip. "Stay here and try to fix that thing!" Yuno pointed to the two other boys and at the meddroid while picking up a heavy stone from the garden.

"What are you gonna do with that?" queried the youngest as he follows the teen.

"I need a boost…' Yuno grunted, almost bent over at the weight, "to climb the window. Oh, thanks, Jem!" Yuno gave the boy a smile as the young boy helped him carry the rock. It didn't lessen the weight by much but it's the thought that counts.

The boys got startled when they heard a commotion from inside.

'Wait! What do you mean? Who are you?'

Inside Din's psyche Ahsoka is trying to keep calm although it feels like her aura is being wrapped tighter and tighter until she couldn't struggle. Ahsoka fought and struggled to get herself free. Slowly, but with increasing speed it drags her out from the mind meld.

'No! Don't do this! I need answers!'

Before she could properly sever the mind meld, she was ripped out.

"Wait!"

It felt like she was loaded on a slingshot and fired indiscriminately.

Whatever it is that was in Din's psyche, it even pushed Ahsoka's hand off of Din's chest forcefully. With a shout of surprise the Togruta slammed her back hard on the floor. The pain left her feeling disoriented and shaken.

Yuno and the boy Jem were able to get inside by helping each other scramble up and over the window. The found the Jedi moving on the floor, trying to get up.

"Mistress!" Yuno held out a hand and helped her up. "Are you hurt?"

"I'm…I'm fine." Ahsoka shook her head as she painfully rose from the floor. Instead of lingering on her pain she immediately checked on her friend. With a big relief she found Din's pulse on the neck. Thank the Force! His heartbeat is strong and steady!

"Is the master safe now?"

The Jedi sighed, "Yes, he is better now." Tiredly, she sat by Din's feet at the end of the bed. "But I am not yet finished. While I do what I need to do, I need you and your friend to stay back. What I'm going to do is dangerous. I will enter his mind. If you stay near us…you might be harmed, okay?"

Yuno gulped, he does not understand anything except the word 'dangerous.' The boy nodded. "Yes, mistress," He steered Jem back near the window and quickly whispered why they should stay back. The boy grabbed Yuno's hand in fear.

Ahsoka nodded in approval. When doing these mind melds there must only be two participants to avoid any confusion. If a third person or an unsuspecting bystander is within the scope of the psychic field they could be pulled within that connection. If the unfortunate bystander is untutored in the art of psychic connection the person might experience confusion, or worse, psychosis.

Grimacing at the after effects of being unceremoniously torn from Din's psyche, she stood up and did some stretching. Togruta were known for their stamina but delving into someone's psyche is draining for anyone.

"Mistress…" the young boy tugged at her tunic. "Have some water…"

Smiling, Ahsoka gave the boy a quick hug after she accepted the glass from him. "You're right, I think I'm thirsty. Thank you!" And she realized that she really was thirsty. "What's your name?"

"I'm Jem." He pointed behind him, "Yuno is my leader in the team."

"Is that so? You're lucky." She smiled at Jem again and gave him back the glass. "Why don't you and Yuno get some supper? I'm sure you're both hungry already."

"We will stay until you are finished then we will get supper, mistress." Said Yuno.

Ahsoka nodded her thanks as Jem returned to Yuno's side.

Before she began the mind meld she took Din's pulse immensely relieved that the beat continues to be strong and steady. She went back and sat beside Din. She nodded to the boys that she's going to begin.

Ahsoka placed her hand once more on the Mandalorian's chest, noting absentmindedly with a small smile that Din's fuzzy chest hair is light brown on a light tan skin.

Composing herself, she went through the steps of connecting with Din's psyche. The procedure that took some Jedi years to perfect the breathing process, tapping into their aura and then connecting with the subject's mind is not the same for everyone.

At their spot near the window Yuno nodded to Jem to sit down and both kids sighed in quiet relief as they rested their backs on the cool concrete wall. By and by the boy Jem leaned against Yuno and fell asleep quickly. Yuno smirked as he slid a glance at the snoring boy; Jem likes sleeping and napping a lot so he gets teased with that in the barracks.

With a yawn, the teen realized he was also a little tired himself. He was busy today with his main task for the Mandalorian but it wasn't something new for him because these were mundane chores. The warrior is usually not at home because he trains everyday with mistress Ahsoka; so after Yuno is finished with his chores he still had a lot of time for his friends and to get some rest. Before sundown, he goes back to the cottage with the warrior's clean clothes and to stoke the fireplace in the main room so the man wouldn't come back to a cold house. He also does not forget to heat the water in the bath so that the warrior could soak in the healing herbs. After that, Yuno would run out again to bring the warrior's supper from the governor's kitchens.

Lately, he had been doing extra things to serve the man better by taking notes on what the man prefers to eat or drink or how he likes his armor cleaned. Yuno sometimes wonders why the man never demands things to be done this way and that. He certainly could since Yuno is his attendant. The boy had a strong feeling that this is not in the man's character.

Are all Mandalorians quite stoic and uncomplaining? From what Gov. Wing said the Mandalorians were a creed of warriors. Yuno could not imagine an entire planet full of warriors! Was that the reason why this Mandalorian is easy to get along with because he was a warrior? This certainly was not what Yuno had been expecting when he took on this role!

When Yuno thinks of warriors he thought of someone who would like to, maybe, shout a lot? Or get into fights? Or breaks things when they don't like things done? Well, the Mandalorian was NOT like that at all!

But the warrior has one item that he never lets Yuno touch; it was the black thing the Mandalorian always carries with him. Yuno and his team wondered what it could be. Could it be a gun? Maybe it's a tool? What about a container?

Yuno looked at the object he was thinking about. It's at the table near the Mandalorian's bed.

That thing was a fragging sword! It was like the sword of mistress Ahsoka but its black! It looks freaking scary!

During the battle tonight he understood why the Mandalorian wasn't demanding about anything except when it comes to the careful upkeep of his armor and equipment.

All that he and the boys could do was drop their jaws on the ground as they watch the Jedi and the Mandalorian fight the mercenaries.

Mistress Ahsoka was so fast and she uses her swords so effortlessly and the Mandalorian could fly! His sword cut that ship and used….what did he use to drag that ship away? That was fragging amazing!

Yuno and Jem and the other teens in the barracks aspire to become members of the security force of their home city. If they must be effective in defending and protecting their home from people like Elsbeth and Lang they need to learn from the best.

Yuno and the other boy was as fast asleep when Ahsoka got up from Din's side and stood there for some time. Her chest heaving, her mind in turmoil. The two children were not aware of the panic in the Togruta's striking blue eyes as she stares at the warrior lying in the bed.

Ahsoka took some steps backwards…she closed her eyes as goosebumps swelled from her arms and at the back of her head. She had never encountered that kind of fear before. Never.

Tentatively, she took Din's pulse the last time and was assured that he is out of danger. Is he really?

The woman gazes at the wall opposite the room without really seeing it. What does she do now? She expelled a heavy breath at being helpless, of not having anyone to talk to…of another Jedi to talk to…

Another Jedi….?

Another Jedi!

The Togruta opened the door of the cottage and ran into the night.

Notes: (I just made this word up. This is now a Calodan word)

*Fragging /adj./- same as the word 'freaking,' not a gaming word that means a successful kill nor was it about a weapon.
