Chapter 8: Evil and Wrathful Awakening
For Yamato to be a hardened warrior and to grow an evil heart, she needs to be pushed to the brink. So 21 took Yamato to a different timeline. In this one, Trunks has blue hair instead of purple. 21 has Yamato lie to Bulma and Trunks and tell them that her parents are killed by the Androids.
Yamato also has to go by her human name and tell them she's a half Saiyan like Trunks. That lie did bother Yamato but it was necessary if she wanted to get stronger. 21 went to a different timeline because she doesn't want to interfere with Yamato's training. What Yamato didn't expect is to develop a bond with Trunks and Bulma.
She always wanted a mom and a sibling.
It was too bad she never got a chance to meet Gohan but Trunks did his best to teach her what he knows. She grew up with Trunks and Bulma. Helping them with the fight against the Androids. With each defeat and narrow escape, Yamato's Saiyan pride keeps getting hurt.
Thanks to her Saiyan blood, she gets a boost in power whenever she recovers from a near-death experience.
Over the years, Yamato forgot her goal of being the strongest evil Saiyan and it's replaced by freeing earth from the Android menace.
An 18-year-old Yamato wakes up and puts on the outfit Bulma wore when she went to Namek. She didn't close the jacket because she can't fully close it. As she enters the room where Bulma is making the Time machine, notices a worried look on Bulma's face, "What's wrong?" Yamato asked.
"Ling!" Bulma shouts and runs to Yamato, "It's Trunks! He went to fight the Androids on his own!" Bulma said in a panicked tone.
"What?!" Yamato said with a shocked tone, "Why?!"
"He thinks he's strong enough to beat them!" Bulma explains.
"Where did he go!" Yamato asked.
"East!" Bulma said.
"I'll bring that moron back!" Yamato promised.
She leaves Capsule Corp and flies in the direction Bulma pointed. Yamato can sense Trunks' Ki but it's very faint. She is going as fast as she can because his Ki is growing weaker. Her heart skips a beat when Trunks' Ki fades, "Please just be knocked out!" Yamato panicked.
Eventually, she did find Trunks. He's laying on his back, his clothes in tatters and holding a broken sword. What scares Yamato is that Trunks is completely still. She lands next to him, "Trunks! Are you okay?!" she asked and felt his neck. Her blood runs cold when she feels no pulse.
Tears run down her face and hold Trunks in her arms. She didn't have time to mourn because heard a massive explosion in the distance, "I'll make those damn Androids pay!" Yamato growls. She sets Trunks down and takes his broken sword. She takes off her jacket and puts it under Trunks' head.
Yamato flies in the direction where she saw the explosion and when she is horrified to see West City destroyed. She looks up and sees the twin Androids, "Welcome back, like what we did with the place?" 17 asked with a cruel smile.
"So sorry for killing Trunks. He was getting annoying. We kept him alive for so long because he helped pass the time. But oh well, there's still you," 18 smiles and is spinning a familiar red around her finger.
"Where did you get that hat?" Yamato asked with a scared tone.
"This? I got it after killing some old lady with blue hair," 18 laughs, "The look on her face once we told her we killed her son was priceless! She used a gun on us, thinking it could hurt us. We taught her how dumb that was,"
"Bulma was the mother I never had! Even though Trunks gets on my nerves sometimes but I still loved him like a brother," Yamato glares at the Androids with tears running down her face and points Trunks' broken sword at them, "And you took them away from me! I'LL MAKE YOU PAY!" Yamato screams and powers up to max.
Android 17 and 18 just smile and wait for Yamato to finish powering up. But something is off, they notice the sky darkening, the earth starts to shake violently and bolts of lightning start to rain down. Not only that, Yamato's Ki is not its normal colour, it's now green. Her muscles start to bulk up and grow in height.
Yamato held her head as if she was in a lot of pain. Her tears dry up when her eyes start to glow red. Her primal screams are being accompanied by a roar of a Great Ape. 17 and 18 decided it will be best to attack her now as they start to get a bad feeling. They were shocked when Yamato tanked 17's punch to the face and caught 18's arm.
The female Saiyan roars one more time and sends 17 flying as she finishes turning to Super Saiyan. But this form is vastly different from Trunks' though her hair still turns gold and becomes spiky. But, Yamato is towering over 18 and has large muscles. Her eyes are completely white. "Now it's your turn to be the victim," Yamato smiles.
17 wakes up and shakes his head, "What the was that?" 17 asked and looked around then spotted his sister in the distance, "18, did you get her?" 17 asks and flies to his twin but stops when he spots an X carved on the Red Ribbon logo. Someone is wearing his sister's outfit and when the woman turns around, 17 sees a large hole around the stomach area and blood around it. She's also wearing Bulma's hat which casts a shadow over the woman's face. 17 can only see a pair of glowing red eyes.
He now knows who this woman is, "What did you do to my sister!" 17 demanded.
Yamato suddenly teleports in front of 17 and presses the broken edge of Trunks' sword under his chin, "I did what you two have been to everyone else. I made her suffer,"
"Why you!" 17 growls and throws a punch at Yamato's face.
She blocks it with Trunks' sword, "So slow," Yamato laughs and kicks 17 into the ruins of Capsule Corp. He gets up but falls to one knee because that kick did a lot more damage than he expected. For the first time since he became an android, saw his blood.
"I'm honestly surprised you androids bleed red blood. I thought you'll spray out oil," Yamato laughs and floats down. She has Trunks' sword tucked under her brown belt.
"We were humans before that old man turned us into androids!" 17 growled.
"And now you're dead," Yamato smiles. She turns into Super Saiyan and charges up a move Trunks once taught her, the Masenko, "Once you see your sister, tell her thanks for the outfit, it looks better on me than on her," Yamato laughs and fires her blast.
17 screams as the blast vaporize him. Nothing is left of him. Yamato reverts to her base and looks for Bulma's hat that flew off her head when she turned Super Saiyan. She dusts it off and puts it on her head. "Now you show up," Yamato said and saw 21.
"I'm surprised you still remember me," 21 said.
"Well you left a lasting impression," Yamato said.
21, "Well congratulation on unlocking Legendary Super Saiyan,"
"So that's what it is called," Ling said.
"Yeah, and the best part is you still have access to regular Super Saiyan but the one you can turn into is the one Majin Vegeta uses. Your body has his DNA after all," 21 explains. " I'm sure you are wondering how you became as cruel as 17 and 18. It's the nature of Legendary Super Saiyan. That makes a Saiyan evil to the core,"
"So that explains it," Yamato chuckles darkly.
"Another thing you should know is the Broly DNA your body has is not the one I thought you had," 21 sighs. "Your dad mixed them up. I mostly blame myself for not double-checking,"
"Does it matter what Broly DNA my body has?" Yamato asked.
"Kinda, yours is evil. While your future version is wilder, it doesn't matter, so long you're strong," 21 smiles.
"And I do feel strong," Yamato smiles.
21 takes a capsule out of her pocket, she presses a button and throws it, it explodes in a puff of smoke. When the smoke cleared the Time Machine stood in its place "Now, for step two for your training, we're going to use this Time Machine so you can kill 17 and 18 over and over. That way you can get your revenge on them and learn how to master Legendary Super Saiyan,"
Yamato smiles, "That's music to my ears,"
And so, Yamato's training has begun. Over and over, he fought and killed the twin Androids. 21 gave her a scouter so Yamato can find them due to not being able to sense them. At first, Yamato used her Legendary Super Saiyan form but stopped using it because the Androids died too quickly. So mostly used her Super Saiyan form. Then after a little while, Yamato did need to transform.
In the fights with the Androids, her technique is honed and becomes stronger in her base form. All the time 21 tells Yamato, "Go all out Yamato! Make those Androids pay! Don't worry about collateral damage, those are not your Bulma and Trunks." 21 made sure that Yamato doesn't go berserk when she spots the Androids. Don't want her to be like Broly and devolve into saying a single word.
21 taught Yamato to control her rage. Controlled rage is more dangerous than wild rage.
Yamato didn't have Trunks' sword fixed because she wants it to serve as a reminder that despite your best efforts, evil will always win and the only way to truly beat evil is with evil. This is why she didn't have her black shirt patched and washed away 18's blood. Though it's become dried and it's hard to notice.
"So this is where my future self lives," Yamato said looking around. "Looks similar to mine,"
"That's time travel for you," 21 said. She looks around and finds what she's looking for. "There they are. Keep your Ki down, don't want them to find us just yet," 21 said to Yamato.
"Yeah, Yeah" Yamato sighs.
Both her and 21 fly to where Ling and Trunks are who just got back from the past. They are fighting the androids because they are attacking a nearby city. "So I just give her my Ki?" Yamato asked.
21 asked, "Yeah, your father from this timeline put an annoying safety feature which locked away the Broly DNA she has. He thought it was too dangerous for her. I found a workaround for it, just give her a fragment of your Legendary Super Saiyan. It will give the Broly DNA in the other you a nice wake-up call. Though she will have trouble going Super Saiyan for a while," 21 shrugs.
Yamato smiles, "Let's see how the other me can do," she holds out her hand and it glows green.
Ling suddenly gets out of Super Saiyan and holds her head in pain, "What…the?" Ling groans.
Trunks fly to Ling "Hey, are you alright?"
"I...don't know!" Ling groans in pain. 17 suddenly appears in front of her and punches her into a nearby building.
"Sorry, but she was wide open," 17 smiles.
"You bastard!" Trunks growls.
He was about to attack 17 when 18 appeared behind him and whispered into his ear, "You should be more worried about yourself," 18 smiled and kicked Trunks down to the streets below. 17 and 18 flew to the building Ling crashed into. They notice Ling still holding her head and shaking. Not only that, the building is still cracking and her eyes are now yellow and she's starting to glow green.
"That's some glare you got," 17 smiles.
"But it doesn't matter, you're still weak," 18 smiles. The twins start to charge up a blast. They wouldn't be smiling if they could sense Ling's Ki. Which is growing stronger and stronger. Trunks can and he is getting worried. He never felt something so rageful before.
17 and 18 were about to fire their blast when Ling let out a loud and powerful Great Ape roar. Destroying the building and creating a powerful gust of wind. Which is so strong that the Androids are struggling against it.
Ling shoots a mouth blast at them. The Androids dodged it, "Ha, you miss-" 18 was cut off when Ling's blast exploded. 17 and 18 were shocked by how large it was.
"That does it!" 17 growls. He flies at Ling at full speed and punches her in the face. His eyes widened when his punch did nothing. Ling just glares at him and punches him back. 17 coughed up blood and was sent flying.
Spotting 18, Ling flies at her. She grabs 18's leg and slams her down in the street below. 18 screams in pain as her head hits the pavement. Ling keeps slamming 18 on the street over and over again. Not paying attention to the damage she's causing around her.
"18!" 17 shouts as he rushes to his sister's aid. Ling lets go of 18 and grab 17 by the head. She flies up and smashes 17 against every building she can see. 17 tried to break free but nothing he did work.
Ling finally lets go so she can punch 17. He quickly makes a barrier to protect himself but Ling can break right through it and hits him hard. 18 recovers and joins her brother in fighting Ling.
Yamato and 21 watch the fight from a distance, "What kind of form is this?" Yamato whistles.
"It's a form where she uses the power of the Great Ape without transforming. But as you can see, she has lost all control and has gone completely wild," 21 holds her chin, "She's not as strong as the Broly who turn in that state but still strong,"
"How strong do you think she is?" Yamato asked.
21 thinks for a moment, "She's strong as then when she was her Super Saiyan form that's for sure." 21 then turns her gaze to Trunks who is looking on with horror and confusion, "So last symbol of hope, what are you going to do?"
A/N: I did some retconning and switching which the Broly DNA Yamato and Ling have. Because I think it fits their personality more. Sorry for rushing Yamato's backstory with her Trunks and Bulma. I did that because it's the same as Ling. The only difference is Yamato didn't meet Gohan.
