Past Recovered

Krillin, Trunks and Ling found the ruins of Dr. Gero's lab. A cold wind blows through, and Krillin shivers, "We were just here not too long ago! Why is it so cold?"

"If you want to warm up, start blasting so we can find Gero's secret lab." Trunks said and started shooting Ki blasts.

"What happened to this place?" Ling asked as she shot green Ki blasts.

"Trunks happened. This guy lost it when seeing Android 17 and 18." Krillin chuckles.

"And they call me the short-tempered one." Ling teased.

"I was only doing what you would do, sis." Trunks teased back.

"Hey!" Ling pouts.

The three share a laugh and resume their search for the hidden lab. "What if we use our Scouters? It might help our search." Ling suggested to Trunks.

"It's worth a shot." Trunks said. But Ling and Trunks activated their Scouters. Thanks to them, finding the lab was easy. The ladder leading down to the lab was damaged, but Krillin, Trunks and Ling can fly, so they can just float down.

Landing on the ground and finding the switch to the lights, the three of them were shocked to see a massive computer in the middle of the room. From the look of it, it's still working. But something else catches Trunks' eye. A small green creature is in a glass container filled with liquid. The container is connected directly to the computer.

"So that is the Cell of our time," Krillin said and was to blast Cell, but Trunks stopped him.

"Wait! We should look around first. There might be useful information Gero left behind." Trunks said.

"Good call, Trunks." Ling nods.

Trunks and Krillin look around the nearby table, and Ling looks behind the computer. From what she could hear, both of them found something pretty interesting, schematics of 17 and 18. Ling found a journal. Opening it, Ling starts to read it. Her eyes widen when she discovers what the journal is about her history.

To be precise, the history of the Ling of this timeline. But it did trigger memories in Ling's mind.

Ling wasn't always sick. As a baby, she was healthy and liked to run around. That's what her parents said anyways. Ling is intelligent, even as a kid, so she can tell her parents are lying to her. But Ling understood why they lied to her. To make her feel better. To make her think she wasn't sick and stuck to a wheelchair and machines her whole life.

But Ling is okay with that because they need hope in a world ravaged by the androids. Ling did believe her parents. When they said; the world was a better place.

When they showed Ling her new body, they told her it had the power to save the world. She can finally be the hero she always wanted to be. The only dream Ling ever had.

Thanks to her mom's machine, her soul got transferred to the body her dad made. And right on time, too, because that's when the android attacked, and the world ended.

Though Ling was in a deep sleep in her new body, She could still hear what her parents said. Her father had to rush to make Ling's new body because he knew the androids would attack. So there were a few flaws in the body Ling's dad made. He just hopes they won't cause Ling any problems in the future.

Ling's mom tried to fix some of the flaws. However, the things she needed were outside of their hideout. So, when was asleep, Ling's mother headed out and never returned. had a good idea of what happened to her when he saw the ribbon Android 18 was wearing.

With a heavy heart, tells Ling what happened to her mother.

When Ling heard that, something stirred inside her. Her heart starts to race. And Ling feels an emotion she has never felt before. Rage. She wants to get out and kill those Androids!

notices Ling is getting angry, but her balled fists and cracks form on her container. So he tries to calm Ling down with his voice and one of the container's functions. But this function has a drawback, memory loss.

wanted to be there when Ling woke up, but the Androids dashed those dreams and killed the last Rid Ribbion scientist.

"Ling! Ling! Are you okay!" Trunks shout and shake the female Saiyan.

Snapping out of her daze, Ling shakes her head and looks at her brother. "Sorry, Trunks. I was remembering. Everything."

"You got your memory back!" Trunks gasped.

Ling nods. "This journal is what brought them back. It wasn't much. I spent most of my human life in one place. I was too sick to do anything. I never got to see the sun or feel its rays. I needed help for the basic things like eating and breathing."

"Wow, sounds like you had it rough," Krillin said.

"Yeah, but got out of one hell and went to another." Ling then smiles. "It was bearable. Thanks to Trunks and Bulma."

"But there's one thing I want to know. Why does have your father's journal?" Trunks asked.

Ling looks through the journal again, but she doesn't have to look far. On the first page, wrote. "I stole this from that fool, Wheelo!" Ling showed the entry to Trunks and Krillin. Krillin takes the journal and reads through it.

"There's one thing you two should know, both my parents worked for the Red Ribbon Army," Ling said with a hint of shame.

"They did!?" Trunks gasped.

"From the looks of this, your dad had a good reason why he joined the Red Ribbon Army." Krillin looks up at Ling and hands the journal back to her. "You."

Ling nods and smiles sadly. She takes the diary and reads what Krillin has read. "Only the Red Ribbon Army had the resources to find the cure to my sickness. That's what he believed at first. The Red Ribbon Army wanted scientists who could make weapons. My mom was clever and fooled them into thinking my new body was a weapon."

Krillin makes an angry expression. "But Gero caught on to them, but he blackmailed them instead of exposing them,"

Ling growls. "He wanted my mom to be his wife."

"Being his wife was hell, but I managed to steal his research and used that knowledge for you." a voice from the shadows said.

Krillin, Trunks and Ling turn to it. Ling knows that voice. "Mom?!" Ling gasped. She almost didn't recognize her mom because of how young she looked.

A brown-haired woman wearing glasses and a ragged lab coat leaves the shadows. "Hello, sweaty," she said with tears in her eyes. She runs up to Ling and hugs her tightly.

"I-I thought you died!" Ling gasped.

Ling's mom nods. "I did." she then looks at the large computer. "I took a page from his book and uploaded my brain, but instead of putting it into a computer, I put it in an android body."

"You're an android!" Trunks gasped.

"Yes, but unlike 17 and 18, I kept my human name, Vomi." the woman explains. Vomi separates from Ling but holds her hand.

Ling undid her ponytail and let her hair down, showing Trunks and Krillin she has a similar hairstyle to Vomi. "How did you get to the past?" Ling asked.

"Another me brought me to this timeline," Vomi explains.

"Another you?" Trunks asked.

"I was surprised too. The upload process took longer than expected, so when I finally got into my android body. You and Ling have gone to the past. That's when another me showed herself and took me here. But there was something off about her." Vomo said.

"Off? How so?" Krillin asked.

"Not sure how to put it, but I felt cold around her," Vomi explains.

"We'll deal with the other you later. We have 17, 18 and Cell to deal with," Trunks said.

"And I'm willing to help you," Vomi said with determination.

"That's great! We just found schematics to the off switch to 17 and 18." Krillin said.

"That's amazing! I can help make it." Vomi said.

"Bulma would like an extra set of hands!" Krillin smiles.

"Let's get out of here and blow up this lab!" Ling smiles.

"I'll help out with that. I gave some pent-up aggression I need to let out." Vomi said.

Krillin starts the destruction by blowing up the container holding Cell. Vomi didn't hesitate in destroying the computer housing Gero's mind. "Take that, you bastard!" Vomi growls.

Everyone leaves the lab so they won't get caught up in the explosion. "That was therapeutic." Vomi sighs.

"Now to take these plains to Bulma." Krillin smiles.

Ling realizes something. "Since you're an android, are you strong as 17 and 18?" Ling asked.

"I'm strong as 17 and 18 in our timeline but not the ones here," Vomi explains.

"The plan stays the same then." Trunks said.

Ling nods. "We will become strong enough to take down those Androids and bring peace back to our him. Right, brother?"

"Right!" Trunks nods.

"Brother?" Vomi asked.

"Bulma took me in and raised me as if I was one of her own," Ling explains.

"And the Bulma of this timeline did the same thing. But Ling is older here." Trunks said.

"I see. I have to thank Bulma when I see her." Vomi smiles.

"Ready to head back to Bulma's?" Krillin asked.

Ling, Trunks, and Vomi asked and followed Krillin back to Capsule Corp. Ling's happy to have her mom back. Now she has three moms.
