Primeval Whirl had been standing for almost twenty years. But now it had to go. The company that made spare parts for it went out of business and it was too dangerous to operate.

Chester and Hester were watching the demolition.

'Do you think this'll affect the Dino-Rama too much?' asked Hester.

'I don't know. It's hard to say,' said Chester.

'The pandemic certainly hasn't helped business either,' said Hester. 'We're not making as much money as we used to.'

'The pandemic has hurt everybody,' said Chester. 'The Boneyard is empty. The only palaeontologists I've seen from the Dino Institute have been Helen Marsh to run the place, and Grant Seeker coming for food for that iguanodon of his.'

'Lucky.'

'Yeah, Lucky.'

'Well, at least we still have TriceraTop Spin,' said Hester. 'And the carnival games are always a draw.'

Chester nodded. 'Yeah. Yeah they are.'

'Maybe we should get new prizes, Chester,' said Hester. 'For the carnival games. We've been using the same ones for a long time now. We're tearing down a ride and there's a pandemic. Maybe new prizes will draw people in.'

'Yes, new prizes,' Chester said, looking almost deviously at the Dino Institute next door.

A/N:

Primeval Whirl was a ride I loved as a kid and loathed as an adult. It was one of those wild mouse rides. Awful. Just awful. But the company that made the parts for it did go bust. And so it was torn down. About the time new prizes got added to the games at Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama. Those prizes are Mickey and Minnie Mouse wearing t-shirts of the Dino Institute, a styracosaur (mascot of the Dino Institute) with the Dino Institute logo printed on it, an iguanodon with the Dino Institute printed on it (money-making from Grant Seeker's pet dino, Lucky), and a brontosaurus that has Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama printed on it. Before that, only generic prizes were offered.
