Chapter 3: The Lovely Rascal Warrior

?: "Hello there!"

?: "Morning!"

?: "Good day!"

Several people greeted or said good morning to the pink anthropomorphic hedgehog walking down the sidewalk, her face obscured by the large flower bouquet she carried carefully.

?: "Thank you! Good morning to you too!"

She waved back, smiling brightly at each of them. She set the bouquet on a counter before grinning as she wiped the sweat off her face.

?: "People are so kind here!"

As she dusted her red dress, she was revealed to have several long pink quills, two being in front of her shoulders and 3 longer ones hanging at the back. 3 thinner smaller bangs swayed over her forehead, having a slight curve to them but not obscuring her emerald green eyes. She had a green headband behind her ears and a sleeveless maroon vest with 6 yellow buttons at the front and a white sash-like accessory could be seen under it. She was also wearing a pink scarf and large red sneakers with a very small heel and white stripe down the middle and through her neatly tied orange laces.

?: "Alright, back to work!"

She picked up her bouquet again, walking a couple of blocks before she reached a shop named 'Hedgehog Flowers and Bakery Shop' in blue cursive on the top with a rose and sunflower below it in pink and orange respectively. Inside the Rose was 'Amy' and 'Cream' in the sunflower. Amy, clearly the one on the rose, walked into the shop and took the flowers to a storage room, setting them in a vase filled with water before grabbing the clipboard and pen next to it. She started checking off some boxes as she walked by the other flowers and the lily pad box.

Amy: "Alright, so I got Mr. Beaumont's anniversary gift, Mrs. Blanc's get well flowers, Big's new home for Froggy aaand of course-"

She gently stroked a sunflower's petals with her finger.

Amy: "My special gift~"

After double checking the flowers, she nodded before setting the clipboard and pen down before grabbing the pink fluffy apron on the door handle and heading back out into a very large kitchen as she tightened the back. She pulled out several ingredients for a cake before she started making the mix. After a few seconds, she scratched her ear in confusion, trying to remember something.

Amy: "Did she say 3 / 4 of egg and a full cup of sugar or 3 / 4 of sugar and a full cup of flour?"

Completely unsure, she washed and dried her gloves before grabbing her phone and calling a rabbit girl, titled 'Cream'. After a few seconds, the rabbit answered, smiling brightly at the Pink Hedgehog as the camera was angled to have her and a slightly older looking rabbit in frame.

Cream: "Oh hello Ms Amy! Sorry you're running the shop by yourself again."

Amy: 'It's alright! I can totally handle it."

She waved her hand, grinning before she looked at Cream again.

Amy: "I just wanted to ask your Mom if it was 3 / 4 sugar and a full cup of flour."

Cream tilted it slightly to have her Mom, Vanilla, a little more in frame as she smiled at the camera while driving.

Vanilla: "It's 3 / 4 eggs and a full cup of love dearie."

Amy laughed and facepalmed as Vanilla snapped her head back to the road.

Amy: "Right, right. Well it won't taste as good as yours. Y'know, since I love another."

Vanilla: "In my experience it's best to let that help you put more love into something."

Amy: 'You sure you don't want to be our business partner? We could really use your help."

Vanilla: "Oh no dear, I just wanna help you two get into a good groove. This is your girls' business, not mine."

Amy: "Well alright. Is it still super clogged on the road?"

Cream: "Mhm! It's not moving all too much."

Vanilla: "Yes, it's slowing us dow- Oh one sec dear, we need to check at the border."

For some reason, the feed got cut leaving only static. Amy raised an eyebrow before setting the phone down and grabbing the mix cup, holding it up as she cracked some eggs and put them in before mixing them up and adding it to the mix. She looked down at her chest before making a grabbing gesture and adding it to the cup, before pretending to add it to the mix. After a cute chuckle, she started mixing it all up as the static disappeared revealing a panicked Cream.

Cream: "Ms Amy!"

Amy: "Cream?!"

Amy nearly dropped the bowl, even nearly throwing it up in the air.

Amy: "Hey, hey, calm down and tell me what's wrong."

Cream: "G.U.N. was at the border!"

Amy: "What, why?"

Vanilla: "They told us that Robotnik had told them he was heading to the city. They're not sure of his intentions but they're not chancing anything and are checking at the borders for anything suspicious."

Cream: "They're mobilizing a force to evacuate now and it should be headed there soon!"

Amy sighed and set the bowl down, starting to take off her apron.

Vanilla: "Dear, do you want me to circle back and pick you up?"

Amy: "No it's fine, I'll stay here and see what happens. If Eggman shows up, then someone's gotta stop him."

Vanilla: "If you're sure, then good luck. You know how to contact us."

Amy nodded before hanging up her apron and picking her phone up.

Amy: "Well you guys be careful, I'll let you know what happens."

Cream: "Okay, bye!"

The Rabbits waved before the feed cut. The pink Hedgehog sighed and walked out the door but not before picking up a giant red hammer with gold lining, the top being bigger than her head. She ran out to the sidewalk and booked it towards the center of the city. Knowing Eggman, he was probably gonna try to put on the biggest show possible.

As she made it to the city center, alarms started blaring with several screens flashing "G.U.N. WARNING" and transport helicopters flew overhead.

Amy watched as they landed near the bridges that led out the city, moving several people out the city in mass quantities. However it was clear that they had a lot of work ahead of them as the groups were quite large. So, Amy stood on the sidewalk with her hammer, watching as G.U.N. loaded everyone and shipped them out while another transport landed to fill more.

Amy (Thinking): "This… is gonna be a while."

She sighed heavily, putting her head in hands boredly, blowing raspberries.

A shadowed figure walked over to a console with several buttons and meters measuring 8 different energies, pressing a button that caused a generator to shake with an electric blue power spike before leveling out and causing the room to light up, revealing Eggman. As he gave a sinister grin, he walked over and sat down in the command center.

Eggman: "Showtime~"

He jumped up and sat in his pod and started softly chuckling before it turned into a deep laugh and finally a loud cackle.

A soft rumble could be heard over the city as the anthropomorphic animals and humans citizens still waiting to be sent out looked up, their faces going from confusion to terror in mere seconds. Amy looked in the direction everyone else was and her eyes widened, seeing the massive ship that flew not too from them. She held up her hammer, gulping as she stood in the street, waiting for whatever was coming.

The G.U.N. warnings were suddenly cut, static currently blasting through the city as one singular logo was on every screen. Amy gritted her teeth as she dug her heels in the ground.

Amy: "Eggman."

The logo also went static for a second before being replaced by said Doctor who was laughing away.

Eggman: "Oh, ho, ho, ho! Hello citizens! It is I, your rightful ruler, Dr. Ivo Robotnik! I have come to expand my empire so do yourself a favor-!"

He pushed his face into the monitor, only his blue glasses and part of his nose visible.

Eggman: "-Don't resist! Gah ha ha ha!"

He pulled away, showing his toothy smirk and the glint of his glasses before pulling further back showing his entire body lift up and down from his evil laughter.

Amy: "Tch, big bully…"

Amy's eyes widened as in front of the copters, several round green egg shaped robots fell from the ship, each with "PAWN" plastered on their chests. She took no time in running with her hammer towards them and swung it into one of their legs but before gravity could do its work, she swung again and smashed its head into the ground.

Amy: "HIYAH!"

She saw some egg shaped ships fly deeper into the city but focused on smashing the small force in front of her, trying to keep them away from the terrified civilians behind her. Luckily, several G.U.N. soldiers arrived and started blasting away. Though some were destroyed, it was clear in the large scale they weren't doing much. But with Amy backing them, their efforts were proving very fruitful.

Back on Eggman's ship, he was reviewing data as a box shaped bot, Cubot, and a sphere shaped bot, Orbot, were relaying information to him.

Cubot: "Boss! The invasion is going amazing! We're pushing all the GUN soldiers into a corner!"

Orbot: "Although one area is proving very troublesome. It's pushing back the first wave. But I've already ordered another wave to be shipped out to that area."

Eggman stroked his chin curiously, carefully reviewing the data on his pad before setting it down and kicking his feet on the edge of his pod and resting his head on his hands.

Eggman: "Prep another wave and send them out when wave two is at half capacity. Should they all be destroyed, let me know and I'll head out with the next wave or so."

He looked over at the tube not too from him and grinned as Sonic had his arms crossed, angrily pouting and tapping his foot.

Eggman: "Got something to add you pesky rodent?"

He smirked at the Hedgehog who remained quiet.

Eggman: "Not talking? I noticed you tend shut up more once your in a compromising position~"

Yet again, he was met with silence from the blue speedster.

Eggman: "Heh, heh, then you've got nothing eh?~ Good. I won't let you escape me so easily 'friend'!"

He started laughing as Sonic lowered his head, looking at the metal ground below him.

Sonic (Thinking): "...Just you wait Eggface, I'm not done just yet. I'll test this trap in due time."

Back on ground level, most of the Pawns were dealt with as a Carrier just finished loading up before it started lifting into the air, ready to fly out of the city when one Pawn took notice and aimed a cannon at the copter before its head was smashed in. Amy sighed, sliding down the handle of her hammer and dropping down onto her knees now that the last one was dealt with.

Amy: "That… was a lot."

She looked up and groaned. Clearly, this wasn't over as a ship dropped more in front of her. These ones were red unlike the previous green. In addition, they had an added "Mk. II" to their chest. Their blue eyes glowed as they approached her. Huffing with a smile, Amy grinned and held up the hammer, ready to take a swing when-

Cubot: "Uhh, boss, there's something tearing a line straight through our forces and seems to be heading towards the troubled spot."

Orbot: "What's worse is something else seems to be destroying large groups of Pawns before going and doing the same to another a few minutes after."

Eggman rubbed his chin.

Eggman: "We better head out soon. Send another squad to the troubled spot and prep the Mk. III's to head out."

-A Pawn in front of Amy was obliterated and exploded. But before the smoke cleared and she could see who was attacking, several chains of explosions followed. More and more Pawns by the second were destroyed, only leaving a smoke cloud and barely visible machinery on the ground. Walking out of the cloud was a lanky but somewhat spiky shape. Amy chuckled as she lowered the hammer and leaned against it.

Amy: "I knew you would show up."

The shape started taking more of a solid shape as it closed in on her.

Amy: "You never like to miss out on the fun. Right-?"

A/N: Okay! So here's another chapter. I think I did pretty well in this one.

Cream and Vanilla were an odd one to do since I don't really have as deep knowledge for them as I do for other characters.

Also, who is this new warrior?

…Yeah it is kind of obvious.
