Kagami was never one to be taken by surprise. Her life was a series of well thought-out, calculated decisions...many at the carefully crafted direction of her mother. Kagami had routine and expectations. She had a strict training regiment to stick to. More than ever she felt trapped...ever since leaving Paris over a year ago and moving back to Kyoto with her mother. During her morning exercises she certainly had not expected Ladybug, Chat Noir, a actual Phoenix, and a unknown girl in tow to randomly appear.

The extent of Kagami's reaction was a double blink, before she stood confidently, having quickly assessed the situation. "Ladybug, you honour me with your visit. I assume you need my help once more?"

"Kagami!" Chat Noir rushed up and gave Kagami is big hug, nearly lifting the unimpressed girl off the floor.

"Hello, Chat Noir. I see you are still as jubilant as ever," Kagami readjusted her ruffled shirt, and stepped back to a comfortable distance.

"I'm sorry to drop in on you like this," Ladybug apologized. "We do need your help. I hope it will not place you in harms way, but if anyone found out we had been here you might be at risk."

"Do not apologize Ladybug," Kagami brushed off Ladybug's hesitation. "You know I am alway here to help you. I am ready to go. Is there another villain in Paris? I heard of the appearance of another butterfly weilder and considered the possibility you might call on me."

"Actually," Ladybug drew Fei in front of her, "We needed you to help our friend here lay low for a while...I mean, if you are able to do that...if you could," Ladybug added, her nerves getting the better of her under Kagami's scrutiny.

Kagami eyed Fei and then nodded at Ladybug. "I will keep your friend safe," she confirmed.

"Oh...well thank you...really, just like that?!" Ladybug stammered in surprise.

"Your friend requires security. It makes logical sense that you would think of me based on my location and defensive capabilities," Kagami shrugged unfazed.

"But, won't your mother..." Ladybug said, worried.

"My mother has been demanding that I find a suitable training opponent to work on my skills for weeks now." At this point Kagami turned to Fei. "You hold yourself well. What style of combat do you train in?"

"Kung Fu," Fei responded automatically.

"Excellent," Kagami nodded in closure, confirming that the ruse would work easily.

"Wow! Thank you Kagami! You are so generous!" Ladybug felt relieved, feeling that she made the right call.

"Yeah, thanks Kagami! You're always amazing!" Chat Noir's smiled admiringly at the dark haired beauty.

Ladybug started to feel less sure of her decision.

"I really appreciate it!" Fei added, unaware of the tension building in Ladybug's chest. "It is pretty cool that you still have such a strong connection with the heroes of Paris."

"Paris has seemed so far away for some time now," Kagami said quietly. "I'm glad I haven't been forgotten."

Both Ladybug and Chat Noir felt a stab of guilt. They had chatted online with Kagami now and then, but they knew Kagami must have had a lot of time on her own.

"I'm sorry we haven't called on you more!" Ladybug looked down at the tatami mats at her feet.

"We could never forget you," Chat Noir added.

"I'm just glad I can be here for you now," Kagami replied.

"Well, if there is ever anything we can ever do for you..." Ladybug said.

"Ah..." Kagami's eyes drifted to a dried rose leaning against a team fencing photo.

"Do you know Adrien Agreste, back in Paris?" Kagami asked Ladybug.

Ladybug's eyes widened, and she willed herself not to glance back at Chat Noir. "Ahh...yes...The model Adrien Agreste from Paris...ah...I might have met him before," Ladybug replied in a tight voice.

Suddenly Kagami seemed flushed. She turned to shuffle through papers in a file cabinet, and finally produced a crisp white envelope with a red wax seal. She held it to her chest a moment, and then extended it to Ladybug. "If it is not too much trouble, could you make sure that he gets this letter? I've been meaning to mail it for a while now, but it has been pretty hard to evade my mother since we returned home."

Ladybug looked bewildered from the letter to Kagami. "I'm not sure if...if it is personal wouldn't you rather..." Ladybug held the letter like a bomb needing defusing.

"If you don't want to I understand, but it would mean the world to me," Kagami said sincerely. "Like I said before, it is well overdue...I was holding out hope that it wasn't too late."

Ladybug's voice caught in her throat, but Chat Noir jumped up beside her cheerfully. "Don't worry Kagami! I'm sure Adrien would love to hear from you! We'll make sure he gets your letter!"

"Thank you," Kagami nodded. "I appreciate you helping me with this personal request. "We will await your signal, and will be ready to act when you need us. No force on earth will defeat Ladybug and Chat Noir. We will certainly defeat this enemy together."

"With you on our side Kagami, I have no doubt the Miraculous team will be able to stop him!" Chat Noir said enthusiastically.

Ladybug couldn't help the twisting feeling in her gut hearing the excitement in Chat Noir's voice about the opportunity to work with Kagami again. She channeled Tiki's calm demeanour and managed a smile at them both. "Well, we've got a lot to do to get ready," Ladybug took Chat Noir by the arm, and pulled him along. (Chat Noir's smile at Kagami, was turned to a confused raised eyebrow at his Lady's rush to make an exit. He sure didn't mind the way she drew him closer though as she channeled Kaalki's power).

"Thank you again for keeping Fei hidden," Ladybug said.

"Do you like orange juice?" Kagami turned her attention to her charge.

"Ah...sure, I guess," Fei shrugged.

"Excellent," Kagami nodded.

"Bye Ladies! See you soon!" Chat Noir saluted, as he and Ladybug popped through the portal, back to the familiar Parisian rooftops.

The portal snapped shut behind them.

"Here," Ladybug unceremoniously handed Chat Noir the letter from Kagami.

"Can you believe out of everyone in Paris Kagami thought to write me a letter?!" Chat Noir's said excitedly, looking at the envelope.

"Yes," Ladybug muttered sullenly.

Chat Noir's sensitive ears twitched toward the tone of his Lady's voice. "Are you upset about something?" he looked over to where her arms were folded, and she was looking over the edge of the building. "I thought everything went pretty well!"

"Why would I be upset!" Ladybug grumbled sarcastically. "Your ex-girlfriend just asked me to deliver a love letter to you!"

Chat Noir blew out air, and smiled good naturedly, "pft...love letter...course not! Kagami was the one that broke it off with me ages ago remember. It's just a letter from a very good friend!"

At the word "friend" Ladybug snorted. "You used to go on and on about me being a very good friend too remember," she whirled around and pointed her finger to his chest.

The accusation only made Chat Noir get a cocky smirk on his face. "Are you a little jealous Bugaboo?" he purred.

No!" Ladybug snapped back and crossed her arms across her chest again, shooting daggers at the envelope.

"Here, to prove to you that you have nothing to be worried about I'll read the letter out loud for you," Chat Noir broke one corner of the folded paper, popping the wax crest on the back.

"That won't be necessary, because I am absolutely NOT jealous," Ladybug emphasized. "Tiki spots off," she called. In a wave of magic Marrinette emerged, and curtly produced a macaroon from her purse for Tiki.

"Man, I never get tired of seeing you do that!" breathed Chat Noir.

"Just open your dumb "friend" letter," Marrinette grumbled.

Chat Noir shook his head. Although he reviled in the fact that she cared enough to feel a little jealous, he hated to see such a silly thing like a letter get in the way of their time together. "Plagg, claws in," he commanded, and Adrien was left to sit on a vent, and automatically hold up a stinky piece of Chambet for Plagg.

While Plagg stuffed his mouth with the gooey morsel, Adrien unfolded the embossed ivory paper.

Although busy pretending not to care, Marrinette looked over her shoulder and she studied Adrien reading over the words on the page. There must have been plenty of words strung together, because he looked thoughtfully at it for some time. "Well...?!" Marrinette couldn't keep from inquiring impatiently.

"Yep, definitely a love letter...pretty sickeningly sweet too!" Plagg sounded disgusted, reading over Adrien's shoulder.

"It's not!" Adrien shot his kwami a dirty look. "Not once does she say she loves me in the whole letter! She just said that she misses me, and has been thinking about the great times we shared. Isn't that what any friend would write to someone they moved away from!"

"You really don't get it! Of course she wants to get back together," Marrinette kicked at the roof.

"Kagami isn't the kind of person to interfere in your relationship anyway. Once she knows you two are together..." Tiki encouraged.

"She'll take it as a challenge!" Plagg smirked. "Then you will have to dual!"

"No, of course not!" Tiki glared at Plagg. "I'm sure she'll be happy for them."

"Well, no matter what her intentions were with the letter..." Adrien came up behind Marrinette putting his arms around her, "...you know that I only have eyes for you!"

Marrinette softened slightly, letting her arms draw up around his. She looked up into his eyes, and pouted, "you've still have got that big grin on your face. What has got you so happy!"

"I've just never really seen you like this," Adrien tried unsuccessfully to restrain his grin. "Usually I'm the one getting jealous that guys are saying how hot Ladybug is."

"Well I hate being like this!" Marinette sighed. "Kagami is my friend, and if anything she encouraged me to make a move with you. What is wrong with me!"

"Nothing is wrong with you. We care about each other. Of course we don't want anyone to come between that," Adrien drew his arms around her. "I hate that jealous feeling too. Whenever I got like that what I really wanted was you to tell me I'd never loose you."

Marinette looked up startled, "but of course you'd never loose me! You're everything to me!"

"You will never loose me and you mean everything to me too!" Adrien echoed, and finished with a soft kiss against her neck. Marinette spun in his arms, and threw her arms around him. Leaning up against his chest, she raised herself up on the tips of her toes. She kissed him, moving her lips against his, and breaking a part only when they both had to catch their breath.

"See," he spoke tenderly into the curve of her ear. "Sometimes it's just nice to be reminded."
