I woke to a familiar high pitched voice screaming for me to wake up. Pansy was jumping up and down my four-poster.

"Esther wake up! C'mon we'll miss the breakfast!" She was now shaking me violently.

"Ugh... 5 more minutes!" I pushed her away while clutching my head under my pillow.

"Are you crazy it's half past seven, already! Snape is going to give us our class schedules today. If he don't see us at breakfast he will kill us!" She was wearing the same terrified expression that most did at the mention of my fathers name.

"Uhhh... okay, Mum!" She just shot me a deadly glare. I stood up and went to the bathroom. I quickly showered and put on my robes.

Pansy and I ran to the Great Hall. She went to sit with Draco and his minions Crabbe and Goyle, and I went to say hello to my friends from Gryffindor.

"Hey! Harry, Ron how are you?" I said with a smile plastered on my face. Yes I was still mad at Ron but that doesn't mean I don't want to speak with him.

For a moment I turned around to look at the Slytherin table. I met the eyes of Draco, who along with a few others were giving me hard stares. The rest of the hall was looking at me like they just saw Snape dancing. Was it that bad for a Slytherin to talk to a Gryffindor? Ok it probably is, but I really don't care what others are thinking, they are my friends and I will speak with them if I want to.

Harry started to said something but Ron shoved him with his elbow, Harry just whimpered.

"We don't want to speak with you," he said not even looking at me.

"Would you mind telling me why?" I said with an edge.

He looked at me with pure anger in his eyes. "Oh I don't know, maybe cause you are a bloody Slytherin!" He yelled up at me.

Harry was just staring at his food not saying anything.

"And why should that even matter?" I was trying to stay calm, but that was hard because people started whispering around didn't say anything he just ignored me and start eating.

"Harry?" I looked at him, hopeful that he will say something but he just looked down at his hands.

"Fine." I said calmly. I sat next Pansy and sent her a sarcastic smile.

She looked at me confused. "What just happened?"

"Nothing, they just don't want to hang out with me." I was really hurt by what Ron said. We had such a great time on the train. I can't believe they don't want to speak with me just because I am in Slytherin.

Of that's how they wanted to play, I will show them what it really meant to be a Slytherin. like the Sorting hat said, I'm only kind to people I want to be, and they are not those people anymore.

After half an hour we went to our first class. Potions! This is the first time that I am going to my dad's class. Okay it is not the first time because I had watched it a few times from the corner of the classroom hidden behind a shelf full of various ingredients. This is my first time as an official student, so it is going to be amazing. I can actually answer the questions.

We arrived at the dungeons where the potions classroom was held. A few students were already in the classroom so Pansy and I quickly took the desk at the back. I do love my dad but I still don't want to be to close to him while he is teaching, he can get a bit scary sometimes. Draco and Blaise sat besides us.

"Hey look!" Draco said suddenly with voice full of disgust. "Scar-head and Weaselbee across the classroom." He smirked, like always.

I turned around to see who he was looking at. "Who?" Pansy asked.

"Potter and Blood traitor Weasley, of course." Draco said, sounding a bit irritated.

"Wow nice nicknames. When did you make them up?" They were a little bit mean, but they deserved them so I don't care what they will think about them.

"This morning at breakfast." He was proud of himself, he sat a bit straighter in his chair.

Then out of nowhere a loud sound spread through the classroom. Snape had entered, slamming the door in the process.

"There will not be foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class." He said in a monotonous voice. "I don't expect many of you to appreciate subtle science and exact art of potion making." He was speaking slower and slower each second of his speech. He looked even scarier than in his other classes. Thanks to God that he is my father. "However for those elect few who possess the prepositions...I can teach you how to bewitch the mind or ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even to put the stopper in death. Then again maybe some of you came to Hogwarts in possessions of abilities so formidable and confident enough to not pay attention!" He shouted at last part.

Every one looked at Harry who was still writing something in his notebook. "This is going to be interesting." I whispered to Pansy. She just nodded, smirking.

"Mister Potter. Our new celebrity." He stopped for a second. "Tell me what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Harry looked at Snape like he was crazy. He just shook his head, he didn't know the answer.

To Harry's right Hermione's hand shot into the air. Of course she knew the answer. I knew the answer too but I didn't want to show off, like some people.

"You don't know. Well lets try again." Snape just ignored her and continued with his questions. "Where, Mister Potter will you look if I ask you to find me the bezoar?" Hermione's hand was even higher than the last time. "I don't know sir." Harry said quietly. Snape's lips curled into a sneer still ignoring the Granger girl.

"What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" This time Hermione stood up and her hand almost touched the ceiling.

"I don't know sir." Harry looked down. "Pity. Clearly fame isn't everything." Snape said, but I think he was actually happy to torture Harry. I had to admit I was happy too.

"Miss Granger I think you should stop trying to answer the question which wasn't intended for you. No one loves those who crave attention. Ten points from Gryffindor for not knowing the basics." He then turned my way.

"Miss Moore could you please tell the rest of the class the answers to the previous questions?" He was now looking directly at me.

"Yes sir...professor Snape." I almost said dad! Am I that stupid?

I stood up and start speaking. "Well asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite." After sitting back down I could see in Snape's eyes that he was somehow proud of me. I was so glad for that.

"Well done Miss Moore 15 points for Slytherin!...Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?"

After that we made a simple potion to cure boils. He praised Draco and me for perfection of ours potions while he criticized the rest of the class. Neville had somehow managed to melt Seamus's cauldron into a twisted blob, and their potion was seeping across the stone floor, burning holes in people's shoes. Within seconds, the whole class was standing on their stools while Neville, who had been drenched in the potion when the cauldron collapsed, moaned in pain because the brew was burning his skin.

"Idiot boy!" Snarled Snape, clearing the spilled potion away with one wave of his wand. "I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking the cauldron off the fire?" Neville was still screaming. "Take him up to the hospital wing!" Snape spat at Seamus.

"You Potter why didn't you tell him not to add the quills? Thought he'd make you look good if he got it wrong, did you? That's another ten points you've lost for Gryffindor." He really didn't like Harry much, now did he? I would ask him later about that, I thought to my self.

After one hour the class ended and I waited for every one to go outside so I could speak with my father in peace.

"You coming?" Pansy asked me, "In few minutes I just need to ask professor something."

"Okay, meet me in common room when you finish we still have thirty minutes before Madam's Hooch class." She said and left not waiting for my answer.

When everyone finally left I ran to my dad and hugged him tight. "Ugh... I missed you so much." He hugged me back. "I missed you too." He said quietly, hopeful I wouldn't hear, but I heard him anyway.

"Anyway, why did you wanted to speak with me?" He let me go and looked at my eyes like he was trying to find something.

"Do I need a reason to speak with my own father?" I said cheerfully.

"You wouldn't send me an owl in middle of the night if it was nothing." He glared at me. "Now what's the matter?"

"Ugh...okay. Well I wanted to ask..." stopped for a second I don't know if it is the right think to ask him, but I need to know. "I wanted to ask you why was I almost shorted in Gryffindor?" He's face immediately change its color. He didn't look happy at all.

"It was probably just mistake!" He was lying I could easily see that. "Sorting Hat never make mistakes! You know that I am almost the same as you so don't try to fool me. I do have something that Gryffindors have and I need to know why!" said a little bit too fast. I returned his attitude with one of my own.

He just stood there watching me. "Please? I need to know." I start begging, softening my tone.

He sighed. "It has to do with your mother." My mother? The only thing he ever told me about her was that she had died when I was tree years old. He never told me how or why she died he didn't even tell me her name.

He then continued. "She was in Gryffindor, maybe you took that from her." His voice was emotionless. Well I didn't expected that, I tough to my self.

"Do you hate Gryffindor because of her?" I blurted out without thinking. He looked very surprised. "No, I loved your mother. I hate Gryffindor for something from my past that I am not proud of." Still no emotions on his face. What could possibly brake him so much that he was scared to show his emotions?

"Your never going to tell me, aren't you?" I asked him already knowing the answer.

"Maybe one day." He said whilst patting my head (he really liked to do that).

I know what he wanted to say. No I will never tell you. He was just to kind to say it.

After that we spoke for a few more minutes. He asked id I've made any friends and do I like the Slytherin's common room and stuff like that. Then I went to go find Pansy.
