"She is with a very old friend, until we need her. Not to worry, she is quite safe...and more to the point, we are safe for the time being from her!" Kaalki whined in closure. "Now will you please see to the sugar cubes! I've absolutely famished!"
"Kaalki! How could you! Drop her upon some unsuspecting being, who will now loose their memories themselves!" Adrien said in shock.
"Like I said...a very old friend. He is not so effected by her influence, as he once was. Not much more she can do to the poor fellow any more," Kaalki waved a nonchalant hoof in the air. "Anyway, he is probably the only one on earth immune to her harm and still trustworthy as a Clydesdale!"
"But what if this "very old friend" tells someone about her...or about Kwami's in general!" Marrinette looked from Tikki to Kaalki.
Kaalki, to Marrinette and Adrien's surprise, started to chuckle. "Tell someone about her! My dear clueless humans! You have no idea what she does to people! Our "dear friend", Oulbliee's host, barely remembers his last sentence, let alone the mysteries of the universe! He has the worst case of amnesia on Earth! For some reason the only being he even recognizes is is faithful wife Melissa! ("Now she is a nobel soul...quite the Pchela (Bee) in her time!" Kaalki murmured to herself, more than the others present)... Just his wife, and how to play piano for some reason! Other than that...well after thirty seconds everything just resets!"
"Thirty seconds!" Marinette said in horror. "That poor man!"
"He's surprisingly chipper fellow," Kaalki noted, "Maybe there is something to being released from carrying around the weight of the world on your shoulders...but now that Oubliee is taken care of...how about a lump or two of sugar for your noble steed?!"
"I'll get it," Marrinette stood to her feet.
Adrien intercepted her. "Don't you think we should...I don't know...like make sure she is secure or send someone to guard the poor man who Kaalki saddled this cursed Oubliee with? We don't want the enemy to find her either and we don't even know if we can trust this guy Kaalki is giving us such scant clues about," Adrien whispered in Marrinette's ear.
"Whatever really happened this morning, Kaalki said she was following my instructions. I don't know if we can trust this new kwami, but I trust myself that I did what I had to to keep you safe...is it enough that you could trust that the me in that moment had a reason for this plan?" Marinette's eyes met Adrien's earnestly.
"I trust you," Adrien replied simply, and put his hand in her's.
