Disclaimer: I Don't own Doctor Who that goes to the BBC
"This place is enormous and deserted. The majority of the race are probably still asleep," the Doctor told Nasreen as he and Rose walked along pathways in a cavern above molten magma and past a few buildings as he took out his sonic screwdriver and scanned the area with it as it extended into it's claw mode, "We need to find Amy, looking for heat signature anomalies."
"But, Doctor, Rose, how can all this be here?" Nasreen asked both Gallifreyans, "I mean, these plants."
"Must be getting closer to the centre of the city," the Doctor told Nasreen and Rose as they entered a tunnel.
"You're sure this is the best way to enter?" Nasreen asked the Doctor.
"Front door approach! Definitely. Always the best way…" the Doctor answered.
"I disagree, Doctor, they'll be expecting us to enter through the front door and will be unable to have the element of surprise," Rose told her husband when an alarm suddenly went off and a female voice was heard over a speaker system.
"Hostile life force detected, area 17," the female voice said on the speaker system, causing the three of them to stop.
"What was that about the front door being the best way, Doctor?" Rose asked her husband, sarcastically.
"Apart from the back door approach, that's also good, sometimes better," the Doctor said as he turned around and walked back the way they came as he ignored his wife's sarcastic comment.
"Hostile life force detected, area 17," the female voice on the speaker system said, repeating itself.
"Doctor?" Nasreen said as a door slid open in front of her and Rose.
"Theta?!" Rose said at the same time as armed Silurian soldiers came through the door as the warning repeated itself yet again as more of the Silurian soldiers arrived through the tunnel behind them, causing the Doctor and Rose to raise their hands.
"We're not hostile, we're not armed!" The Doctor told the Silurians as he pulled up Nasreen's arm, "We're here in peace!"
The Silurians then shoot gas from their weapons, causing the Doctor, Rose and Nasreen to fall to the floor, unconscious.
About half an hour later, the Doctor and Rose were clamped down in a machine in a Silurian lab of some sort with Nasreen next to them, clamped down as well as both the Doctor and Rose were crying out in pain as they have already woken up as the machine scans both Gallifreyans as a female Silurian stood next to the Silurian scientist, Malokeh.
"How can they have escaped?" The female Silurian asked Malokeh, "This proves all prisoners should remain under military guard."
"I'm sure you'd prefer to be in charge of everything and everyone, Restac," Malokeh told the female Silurian, "But we rank the same. Is there any word from Alaya?"
"No," Restac answered as she turned to watch the Doctor and Rose both write in pain.
"It's fine to show concern, you know. She's part of your gene-chain," Malokeh told Restac as he approached a console nearby, "I'm Decontaminating now."
"Decontamination? No, no, no!" The Doctor and Rose both said at the same time as they continued to writhe in agony.
A few minutes later, the Doctor and Rose were still undergoing decontamination.
"It's all right. It won't harm you. I'm only neutralising all your ape bacteria," Malokeh told both Gallifreyans.
"We're not an ape! Look at the scans! Two hearts! Totally different! Totally not ape! Remove all human germs, you remove half the things keeping me and Rose alive," the Doctor told Malokeh as he checked the scans on both the Doctor and Rose and saw that they both had different Physiology than Humans before shutting down the machine.
"No, complete the process," Restac ordered Malokeh.
"Oh, that's much better, thanks! Not got any celery, have you?" The Doctor asked them.
"Seriously, Doctor? You haven't eaten celery since your fifth incarnation," Rose told her husband.
"Yeah, you're right, Rose," the Doctor told his wife before turning to the Silurians, "No, no, not really the climate, tomatoes, though, you'd do a roaring trade in those. I'm the Doctor, the blonde is my wife, Rose, oh, and there's Nasreen, good!"
"Oh, a green man," Nasreen muttered as she woke up as Malokeh walked over to her and examined her with a device in his hands.
"Hello, who are you?" The Doctor asked Restac.
"Restac. Military commander," Restac answered.
"Oh, dear, really? There's always a military, isn't there?" The Doctor asked her.
"You're right, Doctor, it seems that there always is one," Rose said, agreeing with him.
"Your weapon was attacking the oxygen pockets above our city," Malokeh told them.
"Oxygen pockets! Lovely! Oooh, but not so good with an impending drill! Now it makes sense!" The Doctor muttered as Malokeh nodded as he continued to examine Nasreen.
"Where is the rest of your invasion force?" Restac asked both Gallifreyans.
"There isn't any invasion force, Restac," Rose told the Silurian military commander.
"She's right, Me, Rose and lovely Nasreen? No! We came for the humans you took. And...to offer the safe return of Alaya," the Doctor explained to Restac before noticing that she looked like Alaya, "Oh, wait, you and she, what is it, same genetic source? Of course you're worried, but don't be, she's safe."
"You both claim to come in peace, but you hold one of us hostage," Restac said with disbelief as she motions her soldiers to take position by the Doctor, Rose and Nasreen.
"Wait, wait, we all want the same thing here," the Doctor told her.
"Listen to him, Restac," Rose begged the Silurian military commander.
"I don't negotiate with apes," Restac told both Gallifreyans as she approached Malokeh, " I'm going to send a clear message to those on the surface."
"What's that?" The Doctor asked.
"Your execution," Restac answered.
"Yes…" the Doctor muttered as Nasreen looked at both Gallifreyans.
The Doctor, Rose and Nasreen were soon being escorted through the city, in a section that most likely acts like a park.
"These must be the only ones awake, the others must still be in hibernation," the Doctor explained to Nasreen.
"So, why did they go into hibernation in the first place?" Nasreen asked the Time Lord.
"Their astronomers predicted a planet heading to Earth on a crash course. They built a life underground and put themselves to sleep for millennia in order to avert what they thought was the apocalypse. When in reality, it was the moon, coming into alignment with the Earth," the Doctor explained to her.
"How can you know that?" Malokeh asked the Doctor as Restac and the other Silurians stopped and turned to look at him.
"He met another tribe of Homo Reptilia, a long time ago, they were similar but not identical," Rose explained.
"Others of our species have survived?" Restac asked them.
"The humans attacked them," the Doctor answered, "They died, I'm sorry."
"A vermin race," Restac hissed with anger as their escort continued.
"You're not authorised to do this!" Malokeh told Restac as they entered a courtroom with the Doctor, Rose and Nasreen following them as the Silurian soldiers were escorting them.
"I'm authorised to protect the safety of our species while they sleep," Restac told Malokeh.
"Oh, lovely place, very gleaming," the Doctor told the Silurians.
"Yeah, it is, Doctor," Rose said, agreeing with him.
"This is our court and our place of execution," Restac explained to them as Amy entered the courtroom through another door, aiming a Silurian gun at Restac.
"Let them go!" Amy ordered the Silurian.
"Amy Pond, there's a girl to rely on," the Doctor said happily, causing Rose to glare at him, "I meant the only other person than you, Arkytior."
A caucasian skinned man with dark brown hair then entered through the main door, carrying a Silurian gun as well as he aimed it at them as well and this man was, Mo, Ambrose's husband and Elliot's father.
"You're covered both ways, so don't try anything clever, buster,"Amy told Restac.
"Mo!" Nasreen said with relief as she saw Mo.
"Now let them go, or I shoot," Amy ordered Restac only for her to move closer towards her, "I'm warning you!" Restac then took the gun from her as she pushed her to the ground
"Don't you touch her!" The Doctor ordered Restac.
"Are you all right, Amy?!" Rose called out to Amy.
"I'm alright, Rose," Amy told the Time Lady.
"And you," Restac ordered Mo as her soldiers approached him, causing him to give up his gun.
"All right, Restac. You've made your point," Malokeh told Restac.
"This is now a military tribunal. Go back to your laboratory, Malohkeh," Restac told Malohkeh as she walked up to him as one of the soldiers jabbed him in the back.
"This isn't the way," Malokeh told Retac as he looked at Amy for a second before leaving the courtroom.
"Prepare them for execution," Restac ordered as the Doctor, Rose and Nasreen were tied onto one pillar while Amy and Mo were tied onto another pillar.
"OK, sorry, as rescues go, didn't live up to its potential," Amy told the Doctor and Rose.
"It's alright, Amy. You tried your best," Rose told her.
"Rose is right, you tried your best, but I'm glad you're OK," the Doctor told Amy.
"Me too! Lizard men, though!" Amy told them.
"Homo reptilia... They occupied the planet before humans," the Doctor said, correcting Amy, "Now they want it back."
"After they've wiped out the human race," Nasreen added.
"Right, preferred it when I didn't know, to be honest," Amy told them as the soldiers lined up like a firing squad.
"Why are they waiting? What do you think they're going to do with us?" Nasreen asked the Doctor.
A large projection in the middle of the room soon appeared in front of them as it showed Ambrose, Tony and Rory.
"Who is the ape leader?" Restac asked the three humans on the projection, "Who speaks for the apes?"
"I speak for the... humans. Some of us, anyway," Rory said as he stepped forward after he, Ambrose and Tony looked at each other.
"Do you understand who we are?" Restac asked Rory.
"Sort of. A bit. Not really," Rory answered.
"We have ape hostages," Restac told him
"And Gallifreyan!" Rose told Restac.
"Doctor! Rose! Amy!" Rory said as he saw both Gallifreyans, Amy, Nasreen and Mo tied up to the pillars as he rushed towards the screen.
"Mo! Mo, are you OK?" Ambrose asked her husband on the Projection screen.
"I'm fine, love! I've found Elliot," Mo answered, "I'm bringing him home!"
"Amy! I thought I'd lost you!" Rory told Amy.
"What, cos I was sucked into the ground?" Amy asked him with disbelief, "You're so clingy."
"Tony Mack!" Nasreen cried with relief.
"Having fun down there?" Tony asked Nasreen.
"Not to interrupt, but just a quick reminder to stay calm," the Doctor told everyone.
"Show me Alaya. Show me and release her, immediately, unharmed, or we kill your friends… one by one," Restac ordered
"No!" Ambrose shouted.
"Ambrose, stop it!" Tony said as he held his daughter back.
"Steady now, everyone," the Doctor told everyone.
"Get off me, Dad! We didn't start this!" Ambrose snapped
"Let Rory deal with this Ambrose, eh!" The Doctor told everyone.
"We're not doing what you say any more. Now, give me back my family!" Ambrose growled
"No. Execute the redhead girl," Restac ordered.
"No! No, wait!" Rory said as he pushed Ambrose aside.
"Rory!" Amy yelled
"She's not speaking for us!" Rory told Restac.
"There's no need for this…" Rose said as Amy was pushed to the centre of the room in front of the soldiers, "Me and my husband don't want to lose Amy like we did with Donna when I was 232 and when he was 903!"
"Listen! Listen! Whatever you want... we'll do it!" Rory told Restac.
"Aim," Restac ordered.
"Amy!" Rory yelled.
"Rory!" Amy yelled at the same time.
"Don't do this!" The Doctor growled.
"No!" Rory yelled as the projection turned off.
"Fire!" Restac ordered as Amy closed her eyes.
"Stop!" A male voice ordered as Malokeh reentered the courtroom with a Silurian elder, Eldane,
"You want to start a war, while the rest of us sleep, Restac?"
"The apes are attacking us!" Restac explained.
"You're our protector, not our commander, Restac. Unchain them," Edlane ordered, calmly.
"I do not recognize your authority at this time, Eldane," Restac told him.
"Well, then, you must shoot me," Edlane told her.
"You woke him to undermine me," Restac said as she approached Malokeh as she was clearly frustrated.
"We're not monsters. And neither are they," Malokeh told her.
"What is it about apes you love so much? Hmm?" Restac asked him.
"While you slept, they've evolved. I've seen it for myself," Malokeh answered.
"We used to hunt apes for sport. When we came underground, they bred and polluted this planet," Restac growled.
"Shush now, Restac. Go and play soldiers. I'll let you know if I need you," Edlane told Restac.
"You'll need me, then we'll see," Restac snapped.
In the church basement, Rory was hitting the monitor, trying to get the connection back. "Nothing! I've got to get down there." He started to walk away.
"Rory!" The Doctor said on the monitor as the picture came back, "Hello!"
"Where's Amy?" Rory asked.
"She's fine, look, here, she is," the Doctor said as he moved aside so Rory could see.
"Oh, thank God," Rory said as he sighed in relief.
"Keeping you on your toes!" Amy told him.
"No time to chat," the Doctor told him, "Listen, you need to get down here... Go to the drill storeroom, there's a large patch of earth in the middle of the floor. The Silurians are going to send up transport discs to bring you back down using geothermal energy and gravity bubble-technology. It's how they travel and frankly it's pretty cool. Bring Alaya. We hand her over, we can land this after all. All going to work, promise. Got to dash! Hurry up!" The call then ended.
"I'd say, you've got a fair bit to talk about," the Doctor told Eldane as Amy and Nasreen were seated on one side of the table with Eldane while on the other, the Doctor, Rose and Malokeh were standing as the peace talks had begun.
"How so?" Eldane asked him.
"You both want the planet. You both have a genuine claim to it," the Doctor answered.
"Are you or your wife authorised to negotiate on behalf of humanity?" Eldane asked the Doctor.
"No we're not! But they are!" The Doctor answered as he pointed at Amy and Nasreen.
"What?!" Nasreen said with confusion.
"No, we're not!" Amy told them.
"Course you are! Amy Pond and Nasreen Chaudhry, speaking for the planet!?" The Doctor told them as he stood behind them, "Humanity couldn't have better ambassadors. Come on, who has more fun than us?" He then walks over to the opposite end of the table.
"Is this what happens, in the future, the planet gets shared? Is that what we need to do?" Amy asked him as she walked over to him.
"What are you talking about?" Nasreen asked the Doctor as she heard the Doctor and Amy talking as she approached them.
"Oh, Nasreen, sorry, probably worth mentioning at this stage, Rose, Amy and I travel in time, a bit," the Doctor answered.
"Anything else?" Nasreen asked them.
"Me and the Doctor aren't even human," Rose told him.
"There are fixed points through time, where things must always stay the way they are," the Doctor told her, "This is not one of them. This is an opportunity, a temporal tipping point. Whatever happens today, will change future events, create its own timeline, its own reality. The future pivots around you. Here. Now. So do good. For humanity, and for Earth."
"Right. No pressure there, then," Amy said as she headed back to the table.
"We can't share the planet. Nobody on the surface is going to go for this idea," Nasreen told both Gallifreyans, "It is just too big a leap!"
"Come on. Be extraordinary," the Doctor told her.
"Oh...you…" Nasreen said as she sat back down at the table.
"OK," the Doctor said as he slapped the table, Bringing things to order - the first meeting of representatives of the human race and homo reptilian is now in session. Ha! Never said that before, that's fab! Carry on!" He then pointed at Mo, "Now, Mo, let's go and get your son," he then walked towards Mo and Rose as they headed for the door, "Oh, you know, humans, and their predecessors, shooting the breeze. Never thought I'd see it."
"Elliot, there you are," the Doctor said as he, Rose, Mo and Malokeh stood outside a room containing Elliot, who had a green coloured wire around his neck as it was also touching his left cheek as Malokeh used a panel next to the side of the entrance to the room as he used the panel to wake Elliot up from some sort of suspended animation that he was placed in.
"If you've harmed him in any way…" Mo began to say.
"Of course not! I only store the young," Malokeh told him.
"But why?" Rose asked him.
"I took samples of the young, slowed their lifecycles to a millionth of their normal rate. So I could study how they grew, what they needed, how they lived on the surface," Malokeh explained.
"You've been down here, working by yourself, all alone?" The Doctor asked the Silurian.
"My family, through the millennia... For the last 300 years, just me," Malokeh answered before turning to Mo, "I never meant to harm your child."
"Malohkeh, I rather love you," the Doctor told the Silurian as they fist bumped each other.
"Me too, so far you're my favorite Silurian that I ever met," Rose said, agreeing with the Doctor.
"It's safe. We can wake him," Malokeh told the Doctor, Rose and Mo as he entered the room and removed the wires from Elliot before gesturing for Mo to enter the room, "Come." Malokeh then stepped out of the room as Mo entered the room and stood before his son as he slowly blinked.
"Elliot? Ell, it's Dad," Mo told Elliot.
"What...? Dad," Elliot muttered as they rugged each other.
"You're safe now," Mo told his son.
"But, where are we?" Elliot asked his father.
"Well, I've got to be honest with you, son. We're in the centre of the Earth... and there are lizard men," Mo answered as Elliot looked to the doorway where he sees the Doctor, Rose and Malokeh.
"Wow," Elliot said in amazement as the Doctor and Rose both entered the room.
"Elliot, I'm sorry. we took our eyes off you," the Doctor told Elliot, "Besides, Rose here thought it was a bad idea for you to have gone to get your headphones alone."
"It's OK. I forgive you both," Elliot told Both Gallifreyans as he shook their hands, "And thanks, Rose for looking out for me."
"No, problem, Elliot. Besides me and the Doctor had children of our own at one time," Rose told him as they left the room and began to walk down the hallway.
"You go on, Doctor, you too Rose. I'll catch up," Malokeh told both Gallifreyans.
The Doctor, Rose, Mo and Elliot continued on as Malokeh keyed in something on the panel.
"Storage facility 19 operational," a female voice said on the speaker system and with a thoughtful look, Malokeh headed in the opposite direction.
"We lived on the surface of the planet, long before you did. Our sole purpose has been to return to our rightful place," Eldane told Nasreen and Amy as they were still sitting at the table in the courtroom.
"And we've got a planet that can't already sustain the people who live there. And you want to add a whole other species, to drain resources…" Nasreen told Eldane as he soon brought up a projection of the Earth.
"So, erm, what about the areas that aren't habitable to us? Australian outback, Sahara desert, Nevada plains… They're all deserted," Amy suggested as she stood up for a brief moment and pointed at the uninhabitable areas on Earth for humans on the projection of Earth.
"Yes, fine, but what happens when their population grows and breeds and spreads? And anyway, what benefit does humanity get, and how would we ever sell this to people on the surface?" Nasreen asked as she tugged Amy back down with her arm.
"If I could get a word in, maybe I could tell you. You give us space, we can bring new sources of energy, new methods of water supply, new medicines, scientific advances. We were a great civilization. You provide a place for us on the surface, we'll give you knowledge and technology beyond humanity's dreams. We work together, this planet could achieve greatness," Eldane told Nasreen.
"OK. Now I'm starting to see it," Nasreen told them.
"Oh, yeah," Amy said as they heard applause as they turned to see the Doctor and Rose clapping with both Mo and Elliot standing next to them.
"Not bad for a first session. More similarities than differences," the Doctor told them.
"I agree, Doctor," Rose told the Doctor, "Besides, they both kinda look similar with the only differences being that the Silurians look more like humanoid reptiles while Humans look more ape than the Silurians."
"The transport has returned. Your friends are here," Eldane told them as they heard a whooshing sound in the distance.
"Here they are," the Doctor said before waving as Rory entered the courtroom.
"Mum!" Elliot cried as he ran towards Ambrose as he saw her enter the room.
"Rory!" Amy cried as she saw her Fiancée.
"Theta, do you suspect that something's off?" Rose asked the Doctor as Rory's mouth moved like he was trying to find words to say, "I don't see Alaya."
"You're right, Rose, something's wrong…" the Doctor said, agreeing with her.
"Doctor, Rose, what's he carrying?" Amy asked both Gallifreyans as they saw Tony enter the courtroom carrying a body in his arms.
"Please, don't let that be Alaya," Rose muttered as she saw Tony holding a body in his arms, wrapped in a blanket.
"No," the Doctor muttered as he stepped forward, "Don't do this. Tell me you didn't do this." Tony then places the body on the ground as the Doctor squatted down and pulled the cloth away from the body's face and saw that it was Alaya as everyone got a good look at Alaya's dead body before he put it back in place as the Doctor glared at Tony with anger, "What did you do?"
"It was me. I did it," Ambrose told him.
"Mum?" Elliot said with disbelief as he turned around towards her.
"I just wanted you back," Ambrose explained as Elliot walked away from her as everyone else looked at her with pity and shame.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. You have to believe me, they're better than this," the Doctor told Eldane as he walked up to him.
"This is our planet!" Ambrose told them.
"We had a chance here," the Doctor told Ambrose.
"Leave us alone,' Ambrose told the Time Lord.
"In future, when you talk about this, you tell people there was a chance but you were so much less than the best of humanity," the Doctor said as he strided over to Ambrose as armed Silurian Soldiers entered the room with Restac.
"My sister," Restac said as she saw the body of Alaya, uncovers it and wails before gently placing the cloth back over her face as she turned to both Gallifreyans, "And you want us to trust these apes, Doctor, Rose?"
"One woman," the Doctor told Restac as he wagged his finger, "She was scared for her family. She's not typical."
"I think she is," Restac told him.
"One person let us down," Rose said as she approached Eldane, "But there's a whole race of dazzling, peaceful human beings up there. You were building something, here, come on...an alliance could work."
"It's too late for that, Rose," Ambrose told the Time Lady as the Doctor looked at her, questioningly as Tony ran a hand through his hair in frustration.
"Why?" The Doctor asked Ambrose.
"Our drill is set to start burrowing again in…" Ambrose said as she checked a stopwatch that was in her hand, "15 minutes."
"What?" Nasreen said with disbelief.
"What choice did I have? They had Elliot," Tony explained.
"Don't do this, don't call their bluff," the Doctor said, pleading with the Silurians.
"Let us go back. And you promise to never come to the surface ever again. We'll walk away, leave you alone," Ambrose told the Silurians.
"Execute her!" Restac ordered her soldiers.
"No!" The Doctor said as he pulled Ambrose to safety as the soldiers began firing their weapons, "Everybody, back to the lab! Run!" The humans and Rose began to run for the exit.
"Execute all the apes!" Restac ordered as the Doctor pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver and extended it to it's claw mode as he activated it on the Silurians' guns, causing them to explode.
"This is a deadly weapon - stay back," the Doctor told the Silurians before one of the soldiers approached from the seats and lashed out at the Doctor with their tongue, only for him to back out of the way as he ran out of the room.
