Bookstore Surprises
Chapter Thirteen
The half of Bōchord dedicated to being a coffeehouse was quiet, just what Hermione needed. Her mind was in complete chaos after her conversation with Lucius Malfoy. 'I know that he has changed. After-all his is in a Muggle bookstore, dressed like a Muggle. But how much has he actually changed? I'm not sure that's possible. He must have another motive. He is a Slytherin. There is no way he could just want to be friends with me.'
Hermione sighed and took a sip of her frappucino. 'Am I simply over-thinking this?' She thought back to the conversation she had with Severus a week ago.
"Hermione, I can tell you that he has changed and that you simply need to trust me until I'm blue in the face."
"You don't have to tell me to trust you, because I do trust you."
"I know, but even though you do trust me it won't change anything. I have seen the change in him, thus I know that he has changed. However, you won't know it unless you give him the chance to show you. I am not saying that you need to trust him completely. Just trust him enough to give him a chance."
'I know I can trust Severus. He wouldn't lie to me about something like this. And he is right. I can trust him to know how much Mr. M-Lucius has changed. But I won't know unless I actually get to know Lucius. I can keep second guessing this and trying to find ulterior motives until I drive myself insane. Which, won't help anybody. So, I suppose there is only one thing I can do.'
Hermione finished her drink and went back to the bookstore half of Bōchord. She found Lucius in the same chair he had been in before. Though, this time he wasn't reading a book. He appeared to be lost in thought. She took a deep breath and walked towards him.
