Answer 1: no, his Dragon Slayer magic will not be ice, holy, or any elements that already exist, because, in the end, he will only be overshadowed other characters if he has one of those elements, like, ice Dragon Slayer will be shadowed Gray, Holy basically is Sting, and etc, I want to create an OC that will not overshadow any character or become the secondary protagonist.

Answer 2: yeah, he will end up with Ultear, she was the reason why I wrote this fanfic in the first place. Ultear was the antagonist that deserves the biggest chance for redemption even among in Fairy Tail antagonists… at first, I wanted to make him with a small harem, Ultear, and Mirajane.

this will be Ultear x OC x Mira, and that's final.

Sorry for the very late update.

Of course, I own nothing.

Chapter 02: Coming Home.

Thin of white mist without fail will always come out of our mouths every time we took a steady breath. How long have we been walking this road? The ever-changing scenery around us adds nothing but more torment to our sense of direction and time.

A gentle gust of wind made the leaves on the trees above us dance as we walked the white ground. My eyes kept a constant stare at what was directly before my eyes, while with my enhanced hearing, my ears covered the rest surrounding areas.

I'd hoped that the town we were looking for would appear in the next moment we take the step. We had been walking for the entire day to reach it and thus ready for a nice long and good rest.

The sun was long setting and thus the forest we walked through had to illuminate under the white ray moon.

"Ultear, are you sure this is the right way?"

With this, how many times had I asked her? She's only looking at me with an uncertain face and tired eyes in response.

This is bad. I miscalculated the situation. We have yet eaten anything since we broke out from that abomination place. For as long I remember someone had always delivered our foods to us every single day, and that made us forget that outside the faculty we have to search for our own foods, there's no guard to bring daily portions for us.

To think we had accustomed to that place that bad that we forgot this common fact, what a stupid child I am.

"Sorry, let's go."

Complaining won't bring us anything but frustration, be it the right or wrong path, we just have to gamble on it, our energy is already reached its limit a long time ago, we had no choice but to keep moving forward. It is a miracle how we are still able to walk despite our conditions.

I knew that in the end, Ultear was able to reach her hometown in the series, but what I didn't know was the process and struggle of how she had through in order to reach her destination, shit, this is tough, even with this modified body.

Why am I even going to the same place with her, to begin with? Because I have no place to go or home, I want to go back.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled.

Haahh… grabbed her hand, I made her walk right beside me.

"It's not your fault, let's go, we will reach your home no matter what."

She looked into my eyes, then like a clue, we smile at each other.

"I'm glad you are always there for me."

"That's my line, you know."

The laugh we shared at this moment warmed our hearts and body a little. We kept exchanging words to each other to keep the tiredness away, it might be only temporally, but this short warmness we felt was enough for us at this moment.

Before we were aware of it, we have made our way out from the woods, and so we walk and continue walking in this clear white scenery.

Scanning the area once more, spotting nothing but a thick layer of snow.

It's fucking cold, too.

The sensation of my legs… I can't feel it anymore. It was long gone, but maybe that was for the best. Thanks to this numbness, I can't feel the piercing cold from the frozen ground on my legs anymore.

I guess you can find a silver line in any situation.

After a moment of silence, my ears twitched in reflex.

"Hmm?"

My ears catch some human's voice, from how vague it is I'm sure the source is still so far from us, but at least we have hope now, even if it is just a little.

"What's wrong?"

It's not strange for Ultear to not be able to hear anything other than the gust of cold wind. She was never had to go through the Dragon Slayer experiment, after all.

"I hear some voices."

"Really?"

Her voice filled with a hopeful tone, pale face immediately becomes brighter with fresh energy. She will be seeing her mother for the first time in a long time, after all, a spring in her step. I can't understand her how's feeling. I have no one I really want to see myself, but her elated face is enough to contagious me with her warmth.

I only gave her a nod to her to answer her question. Listening to the voices again, I heard one of them has greatly resembled the girl next to me, only matured and calmer tone, there other than her voice that my ears catch, was two voices of children, just like from the show, I guess.

With my nose I sniff the air, trying to capture some recognizable scent from one of them, I mean one of them is Ultear's mother, of course, one of them would have a scent that resembles Ultear's, but to no avail the only thing what my nose catch was the smell of the snow.

I hope the cold does not break my nose.

On another note, even without seeing them in flesh, I've already who those people are. From the show I'd watched from my previous life, I at least knew that much, good, now we can finally rest, aren't we?

Wait… my future knowledge instantly washed that relief emotion off. What I am, an idiot? Reaching Ultear's home alone is not enough to save her. That was only the beginning.

You dolt, don't let your guard down until you bring Ultear to her house.

The real problem will only begin when we reach her home, a misunderstanding that will ruin her whole life. Focus, me! Don't let the girl who had saved you before and you care a lot do something stupid like that, no matter what it takes, I will stop her and bring her to her mother, even if that means I have to hurt her in the process.

Anything will be small sacrificial, as long I can prevent her from hurting herself… I have to prepare myself for the worst.

Instead of easing the weight in my heart, each step I took only increased the doubt inside me.

The closer I am to the voices, the more my mind is clouded in the worst scenario that might unfold at the moment that is about coming in a few seconds. What if I failed to stop her from her dark thought and she decided to come back to that place, just like how the story flew, one after another what if, what if, what if, and what if scenario keep coming to terrorizing my mind.

Worst of all, what if there's an unknown force that prevents me from ruining the original story? I vaguely remember there's a main character in a certain show that had this kind of setting in his life.

What if I'm also like him? That would be bad, terrible even… ah shit, this late realization makes my mind rumble, but whatever… the moment she takes a step back from the sight of her mother, I will do everything I can do to stop her.

Whatever it takes, I will do it. I'm stronger than her. Stopping Ultear would be a child play for me… no pun intended, since I'm still a child myself.

That was enough soliloquy. Now let's get it down to the business already.

Time passed, and the voices got clear and clearer as we make our way, so clear that I'm sure Ultear can hear it with her normal ears.

"I can hear her voice…" her face lit up like a candle, tone lift.

With the knowledge of the event that's about to begin, it's so painful to watch her with that hopeful face.

"That's good to hear."

"Yeah, finally we can rest. Just wait until you eat mama's cooking, it's going to be so tasty, it will move you to tears that just won't stop."

The image alone was enough to lift all the tiredness from her body, moving her hands in a playful, bragging manner, and her eyes sparkling. The scenario of reuniting with her beloved mother, warm and cozy table images of the dining table framed in fluff.

See, I hope you understand just how painful it is to watch her being hopeful like this when you know the moment she spotted her mother, the scene would be consumed by her in rage and darkness.

"Yeah…" I will make sure you eat it.

'Strong adrenaline can push the body to pass its limit and make it numb to the pain' maybe that's statement was right, after all, because Ultear who have always walked behind me suddenly take the lead, pulling my hand ahead with enough force, make my legs to change its pace, we run to the source of this voice.

This is not good. With this pace, we will arrive there before I know it. I have not yet prepared my heart for what is about to come.

Time was a cruel thing. It doesn't care about your feeling, that's why now we standing from the upper ground watching the scenery below, stunned for Ultear and my stomach flipped upside down.

Silently watching an adult woman, that basically an older version of Ultear playing with two children that she knows nothing of, from her eyes at least.

Now, this is the time.

Gathering courage, I gave off a sigh. I took a glance in her direction, as I'd expected I guess, betraying the images she had told me earlier, now there's nothing but dark thought seeping from her body, eyes shadowed by her hair… so face shadowed by hair was not anime thing only.

Who knew going back home could raise such anxiety? I find it hard to take a step forward, as if it has glued my whole body to the frozen ground. Heart pounding fast, a certain fear is stopping me to think of anything. A fear that is hard to explain.

What if I messed up? And yet another "what if" scenario disturbing my mind in this crucial moment.

Well, no point in thinking about those things now. It's an all-or-nothing moment. I'll put everything I have into this moment.

"Let's go."

I pull her hand and intend to walk to her mother, but she isn't bugging, not even a bit.

"Let's go back."

She whispered, her voice quiet. If it were not for my enhanced senses, I wouldn't able to catch her words.

So, this is how it began? Be strong myself.

"Why? To where? Your destination was already in front of your eyes?"

Please don't say anything else and just follow me.

"And what was that for?" She lifts her head to look straight at my eyes. I flinched a bit the moment her eyes making a contact with mine, her once bright eyes clouded in darkness without a taint of light in it.

Stop looking at me with those eyes. That makes me sad.

"For coming back home, of course."

"Haha… home?" Her own made-up reality broke her face in anger.

She took a step toward me. I can feel her rough breath touch the skin on my face.

"That's rich coming from someone with no memories. I bet you secretly happy right now, didn't you?"

She brings one side of her mouth higher, eyes looking at me in a mocking way.

"What are you implying by that?" It's not my intention to sound so agitated.

I don't want to lose control of her child's provocation, and yet, I can't help but feel a little tick from her statement.

"What you ask? Just look at the scene before you. There you see my mother with my replacements!"

She took a pause to point her finger at the scene that broke her heart.

"You must be happy knowing that you are not alone as an abandoned person now! She threw me away to replace me with those two! I was no longer had a place to call home! Do you want me to throw away my name too? That way there will be no difference between us!"

This fucking child!

"Stop that!" I yelled.

"Stop what?!" She yelled louder.

"Stop assuming things on your own! This could be not like what you see, you brat!" I grab her collar and bring her face close to me.

I admit I have lost control of my emotion and I admit it will help nothing in this situation.

"Then what it is? Who were those two that played with my mother?!"

She grabs my collar shirt in the same manner, but tighter, almost choking me. Tears gathered in her eyes.

"How am I supposed to know about that! Just shut your mouth and ask that to your mother already, brat! I'm not kind enough to become a sandbag and let a kid like you lash out your anger like this!"

By the times we exchange words, our voice just kept louder and louder.

"I don't want to hear that from a brat that doesn't even remember his name! I don't even remember asking you to come with me! Just disappear from my sight already!"

"You fucking brat…" not going to lie, her words are actually hurt me in a way, it makes me frustrated that I almost forgot the reason why I came here.

"Ultear…" a third voice surprises us, making us forget about our clash.

Almost at the same time, we jerked our heads to the newcomer's voice.

"Is that really you? But I'm sure they told me that you had…"

She just standing a few meters from us, two kids with silver and dark hair standing behind her… I want to ask why are they naked, but that silly question washed in sudden realization.

Oh right, there was another way to make these two face each other. I'd focused too much on making Ultear meet her mother that I forgot I can just make her mother meet Ultear, doesn't matter how it is, as long these two meet face to face, it would solve the problem on its own.

If I think clearly about it, making her mother come to her was always much easier than making Ultear come to her mother. After all, I just need to cause a loud ruckus that would draw their attention like this, and they will come to see what was the uproar is, yet I wasted my worrying about the bad ending outcome.

Well, I guess the cold and this child's body have affected my mind more than I had thought. Whatever it is, with this now, I have destroyed the bad route.

Now, the mother has reunited with her long-lost daughter. I just need to calm Ultear down in order to have a proper talk with her mother.

Her eyes watered in disbelieve, staring at the daughter she thought had died a long time ago, or that was what I remember from Ultear's flashback.

My mind has calmed down by the peaceful scenario in my head.

Until I feel a hard object hit the back of my head, it took me a few moments for me to fall and my face touched the ground, from the corner of my eye I see Ultear with her two hands held in a fist, a regretful look painted her face, it was painful to watch her like this.

That is that, and this is this, so… this fucking brat. Did she just hit my head with her hands? The last thing I see before I lost my consciousness was Ultear running away from the scene with her mother chasing after her while calling her name.

She might be a child, but she's still a child with overflowing magic energy, and a punch from the child with the magic power of her level has enough force to make an adult scream like a baby… I will pay this back when I wake up.

Later, not even ten steps since Ultear ran away, her mother has managed to catch her.

Anyway, starting with this chapter I will put 50% of my focus on this fanfic while the rest of 50% on another fanfic.
