Jason woke up with a Hangover. "Oh." He groaned. "What the fuck happened?" He sat up and reached over before crawling off across the bed. 'Bed?' He asked. 'What am I doing in a bed?' He put his weight down on something soft. 'What is this?' He squeezed whatever it was eliciting a moan from someone. He looked down to see that he was squeezing a breast. "WHAT!" He yelled jumping back, and off the bed. "Ow! Fuck!" He yelled when he hit the floor.
"Jason?" Korra asked.
"Korra?" Jason asked. "First. What the fuck was I doing in a bed? Second. Whose bed, is it? Third. Why were you in the same bed as me? Fourth. Did you do anything to me while I was unconscious?"
"You were drunk last night. It's my bed. It's my bed. And no."
"How does me being drunk end up with me in your bed?"
"You don't remember last night, do you?"
"No. Wait. Did I say anything last night? Did we do anything last night!?"
"No." Korra lied.
Jason sighed. "What did I say, and what did we do?"
"You mentioned someone named Bruce, and your dad. You're not some fuck up." She spoke.
"You didn't hear any of that!" Jason snarled. "Got it!" He ran from the room, down the stairs, and outside. He walked to the police station to talk to Lin. He was crossing the street when he heard a Sato-mobile honk at him. He backflipped out of the way and the Sato-mobile skidded past him to a halt.
The three Occupants stepped out of the Sato-mobile and walked over to him.
"Are you all right Jason?" Bolin asked.
"Yeah." He spoke. "Guess I wasn't paying attention."
"Are you sure you're alright?" The driver, a woman with raven black hair asked him.
"Uh yeah." He stammered when he saw her. She was beautiful. "Just a little star struck is all."
She blushed.
"Let's go Asami." Mako glared at Jason.
"Do you need a lift somewhere?" Asami asked.
"No." Mako said. "He doesn't."
It was Jason's turn to glare at Mako. "I was headed to the Police station." He spoke. "It's not too far away. I can walk."
"Are you sure."
"He said he doesn't need a ride." Mako said. "Let's go." He said grabbing Asami by the arm.
Jason spun, knocking Mako's legs out from under him, and punching him into the ground hard enough to crack it. He grabbed Mako by the shirt and lifted him up. "Ya know. I tried being nice, but Asami is not your own personal plaything. You don't get to tell her what to do, where to go, or force her to do anything. Am I understood?"
Mako tried Fire Bending at Jason, but Jason caught his fire and absorbed it into his own black flame.
"Ya know. That was pretty stupid, but far from the worst decision you've made today."
"Please let him go?" Bolin asked with a bow. "He's my brother, and the only family I have left. So please don't kill him."
Jason looked at Bolin. "What happened to your parents?"
"They were killed when we were really young. We only have each other."
Jason was hit with a bout of Sympathy. He put Mako down and looked at Bolin. He wasn't lying, Jason could tell that Bolin couldn't lie to save his life, but that meant that Mako wasn't an ass hole, just ignorant. "Take him to the hospital." He said handing Bolin a stack of Yuan's. "I fucked up; I'll cover it."
"Why?!" Mako demanded holding his ribs.
"Because. I thought you were an ass hole trying to control Asami, when in fact you're just ignorant because you've never had anyone to teach you that there's a right and a wrong way to treat people and treating them like a side of beef is the wrong way to treat them."
"That doesn't really explain much." Bolin said.
"It means; take your brother to the hospital and get him healed. Then take a class or two on etiquette."
"Okaaaay?" Bolin asked before he helped Mako to the Sato Mobile.
"Thank you." Asami said. "Not that I needed the help. If you hadn't stepped in, I would have stopped him myself."
"I believe it." Jason said. He could see the muscle carefully sculpted under her clothes. He mentally slapped himself for ogling her. "I'll let you get going."
"Bye." Asami said before getting into the Sato Mobile.
Jason waved and continued walking towards the police station.
When he arrived, he walked back to Beifong's office. "Hey." He said as he knocked.
"Grab your gear." Lin said.
"What? Why?"
"We just got a tip about an Equalist sympathizer."
"You don't have to tell me twice." Jason said bending his helmet around his head.
They left the office and ran for the cars.
"Where is it?" Jason asked. "I'll meet you guys there and head off any escape attempts."
"It's Cabbage Corp!" Lin yelled.
Jason threw his grapples and pulled himself up to the rooftops before he started free running. He ran across the rooftops jumping from roof to roof, vaulting over chimneys and other obstacles, grappling to buildings that were too far for him to jump to, and sliding down roofs that were too steep to run across.
Eventually he made it to Cabbage Corp and landed in front of the door. He grappled up to a window and snuck in. He looked around, and nothing screamed: "Equalist Sympathizer!" But he knew that the best traitors could hide in plain sight. He pried open a box... but not like this. He found the Equalists shock gloves hidden just enough to make it look like Cabbage Corp was hiding something, but that in itself was suspicious. He jumped into the rafters and waited.
He didn't have to wait long because the door opened, and the police appeared in the doorway.
Jason dropped down and watched from the shadows as the police came in and searched the factory. They found the gloves and arrested the owner of Cabbage Corp for being an Equalist Sympathizer and for manufacturing the Equalists shock gloves.
"NO!" The man yelled. "Not my Cabbage Corp!"
Jason walked up to Lin. "He's being set up." He spoke.
"Oh really? How would you know?"
"Believe me. I've seen enough to know that those gloves were placed just a little too conveniently."
"Then find me proof."
"Are you giving me permission to use my methods to get you the proof you need?"
"So long as you don't leave a trail of corpses, do your job to the best of your ability."
"Will do. Bye." He said with a two fingered salute. He grappled up to the roof of Cabbage Corp and took off running. He needed to stop off at his house first.
When he arrived at his house he walked inside only to be stopped by Korra.
"JASON! I NEED YOU TO HELP ME MAKE MAKO JEALOUS!"
"What? Why?"
"Because. We were dating, but then he went and started dating Asami, and Halo told me that the best way to get back at him was to make him jealous or take his girlfriend."
Jason mentally slapped himself when he thought about Korra and Asami together like that. If they wanted to get together that was their business, and he shouldn't be thinking about them like that. He was ten years older than them. He needed to be the responsible one. Oh fuck. Roy would laugh his ass off if he heard him say that. "Don't worry. I don't think he'll be dating Asami for much longer."
"What? Why?"
"He fucked up and grabbed her by her arm."
"Oh."
"Yeah. He doesn't know how to treat people since he hasn't had a father figure since he was young."
"That sounds terrible." Korra said.
"Yeah. Living on the street, living by your own rules, living by whatever means you have to survive. It's a cruel reality but some good can come from it."
"What are you going to do?"
"I can't use the method I'm using for Azin and Baani. They are adults... technically. So that leaves options two or three."
"Which are?"
"Through example or through intimidation."
"I know which one sounds more appealing."
"Which is why it's the wrong choice."
"UGH! Being a good person is lame."
"Yeah. Tell me about it."
"So will you help me make him jealous?"
"Yes, but only because it will be a good learning tool."
"Okay. Let's go."
"Not yet. I have work to do. I came home to grab some stuff."
"Like what?"
Jason walked upstairs and walked back down with a bag over his shoulder. He moved it, and Korra heard the sound of metal moving around.
"What are you going to do?"
"My job." He said before he walked outside.
Korra watched him leave before he disappeared into... mist? She looked around and didn't see any mist but where Jason had disappeared. "He needs to teach me that." She said before walking back inside.
Jason walked the streets of Republic City looking for answers the way he did in Gotham, or wherever else he went. He bought some food and went around looking for the homeless of Republic City and offering food in exchange for information. When he came up empty handed, he told them to keep an eye out and that he'd be back the next day with more food and took down their favorite food. He was about to call it quits when he saw a couple of Equalists trashing a homeless man who tried fighting back with Earth Bending, but they chi blocked him and continued their beat down.
He ran over to the Equalists and chopped one in the throat and kicked the other in the knee before he picked them both up and slammed them into each other before dragging them away.
In the tunnels under Republic City.
"Hey." He spoke. "Hey buddy. Wake up." He slapped one of the Equalists awake.
"What!" The Equalist shouted. "What have you done to me!? Let me go, or Amon will make you pay!"
Jason held up a shock glove that was smeared with blood. "Don't give me a reason to kill you like I did your partner."
The Equalist looked around and saw his fellow Equalist dead on the floor, though he looked like he'd been tortured extensively.
"Ya see." Jason explained. "Where I'm from we have the rules about what are and aren't acceptable in war. We call them the Geneva Convention. It states what is and is not allowed during war, what is and isn't allowed to happen to Prisoners of War, stuff like that. Let me just say that in order for something to be put on that, it has to be pretty fucked up. You want to know something though?"
"Wh-what?"
"We aren't where I'm from. Which means that the Geneva Convention doesn't exist here. Which means... I can use anything on that list."
"You-you wouldn't though."
"Depends on if you tell me what I want to know."
"What do you want to know?"
"Who put the Equalist equipment in the Cabbage Corps factory?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Do you know what the Geneva Convention prohibits?"
"Wh-what?"
"It strictly prohibits the use of torture, mutilation, cruelty, humiliation, and Degradation."
The Equalist pissed himself. "NO! NO! I'LL TELL YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT TO KNOW! I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS! I SIGNED UP BECAUSE I THOUGHT AMON WAS ALL ABOUT MAKING THE WORLD EQUAL!"
"Then why did you attack a homeless Earth Bender! Didn't you find it odd that there even WAS a homeless Earth Bender if Benders are the oppressors!"
"Now that you mention it that was kind of weird."
"YA THINK SHIT HEAD! There are bad Benders and bad non-Benders. You can't lump them all together like that! Are you a bad person?"
"I don't think I am."
"But you attacked a homeless Bender. That makes you an automatic bad person, right?"
"NO! Benders are the..."
Jason kicked him causing him to swing through the air. "WRONG ANSWER!"
The Equalist cried out in terror. "PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" He sobbed.
"TELL ME WHO MADE THE EQUALIST EQUIPMENT AND WHO PUT IT IN THE CABBAGE CORP FACTORY!"
"H-how do you know it wasn't Cabbage Corp!?"
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." The Equalist gasped before hiccupping.
"I KNOW WHAT A STAGED SCENARIO LOOKS LIKE!"
"AHHH! NO! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
"TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO KNOW!"
"IT WAS HIROSHI SATO!" The man sobbed. "WE GO TO HIS FACTORY AND PICK UP THE LIGHTNING GLOVES, AND THE REST OF OUR EQUIPMENT!"
"What else?"
"He told us that he would have a new weapon ready for a trial run soon! He said that it would make all the difference."
"Okay, okay. Next question. Why do you know?"
"That's because he was bait." A silky-smooth female voice said from the shadows."
"And who the fuck are you?" Jason asked. "Other than the back up for an ASMR sex podcast?"
"What?" The woman asked.
"I asked who you were?" Jason replied.
"You may call me Stiletto."
"Sorry. That names already taken."
"Wh-what?"
"That name. It's already been taken, though the lady who used it couldn't pull it off half as well as you are."
"I am not some prize waiting to be won! I am the Assassin for the Equalists."
"No. I don't think you are."
"You DARE to mock me!"
"I dare. I'm the master of Truth or Dare... though I haven't tried the new NSFW edition. Maybe... no. Can't go there. If I go there then I'll get a boner, and boners and work don't mix. That was an awkward first meeting with Poison Ivy. Damn teenage hormones, making everything so fucking awkward. And that costume hid nothing! I mean seriously Bruce! Was it so fucking hard to make a suit that was long enough to hide those awkward boners! That's why I went to the black on blood red look. It at least had room to hide those awkward boners."
"What the fuck!" Stiletto yelled. "I don't want to hear about awkward work boners!"
"Oh. Sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"Thank you. Now. I am Stiletto! The Equalists Assassin."
"No, you're not."
"Will you stop that!"
"Not really. Whenever I hear a lie, I have to point it out."
"And what makes you think I'm lying?"
"You're Outfit. It's homemade and not factory made like their outfits." He said pointing at the two Equalists. "I'd say that you are trying to be something you're not."
"Oh really?" Stiletto asked. "And what's that?"
"You want Amon to notice you. That's all you've ever wanted, was to be noticed, and you figure that by doing this you'll become more noticeable."
Stiletto looked at him as if he'd figured her out. "How did you figure me out?"
"It wasn't that hard. I basically just spouted nonsense based on the information I had, and it turned out to be right."
"So, you lied?"
"More or less. I do that. A lot."
"So does that mean you lied about the Geneva Convention?" The Equalist asked.
"No. I was telling the truth then... Ya know what. What's your name? I've been calling you Equalist guy in my head, but that's just more work than I want to put into it. Do you have a name?"
"Of course, I have a name. A proud noble name that is..."
"Spit it out!"
"IT'S XING! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
"Well, it's better than Equalist guy. So. Tell me. Has being an Equalist really lived up to the hype?"
"Not Really." Xing said. "I mean learning how to Chi Block was cool, but I really haven't felt right when we go and attack Benders who haven't done anything but exist. It just doesn't feel right. I signed up to fight the Avatar."
"Why do you want to fight my sibling's babysitter?"
"What?"
"I asked. Why. Do you. Want to. Fight. My siblings. Babysitter?"
"I didn't know!"
Stiletto jumped at Jason who caught her with his Blood Bending. "Brave little ant." He taunted. "Give me one good reason, why I shouldn't kill you right here and now."
"H-ho-how a-ar-are y-yo-you d-do-doin-doing th-thi-this?"
"Blood Bending." He explained. "It's apparently illegal, but I was given permission to use my methods to figure this out."
"W-wh-why?"
Jason tossed Stiletto into a wall, knocking her out. "I can either leave you here until she wakes up, or I can let you go... on one condition of course."
"Wh-what kind of condition?"
"You be my spy on the inside of the Equalists."
"Um... I don't know."
"All you would have to do is go about your daily life and pay more attention to how the Equalists act. Then tell me your findings when we meet up."
"That doesn't sound too bad."
"You couldn't act any differently than you do from your normal day to day. You'll be paranoid by the end of the week... if you live that long."
"Wh-what?"
"Welcome to undercover work."
"I have some doubts about this."
"That's how you know it's working."
"What?"
"Your first plan will always fail, how you adapt to that failure is what shows your true character."
"Oh. Okay."
"So. What's it gonna be?"
"I suppose I'll help you?"
"Good. Now hold still. This is gonna hurt."
"What..." Xing began asking before Jason hit him hard enough to knock him out.
Jason looked at Xing and Stiletto before he slapped Stiletto in the face with water before he walked away.
Lin Beifong sat at her desk doing paperwork when her door opened.
"Hey chief." Jason said.
"What did you find out?"
"I know who is giving the Equalists their equipment."
"Who..." The door opened and Jason jumped to the ceiling and fused the metal of his boots to the metal of the ceiling and crouched.
"Chief." An officer said coming in. "Tahno is here to talk to you."
"Fine. Send him in."
The officer waved someone in and Beifong waved Jason out.
Jason dove out the open window, and left the police station, and walked back home. When he arrived back home, he was bombarded by Korra, Baani, and Azin. "What?" He asked.
They all started talking, and he whistled loud enough to make them stop talking. "Korra. Explain."
"Okay. So, we went to the arena to tell Mako and Bolin that they could come live here or on Air Temple Island, but Asami had already offered them the chance to live in her mansion."
"Okay."
"Then she invited us to come over tomorrow."
"Okay."
"Baani wanted to go over, and so I told her that we had to talk to you."
"Okay."
"So, we're asking if we can go over there tomorrow?" Baani asked.
"I don't see why not." Jason said. "So long as you guys are safe."
"Will you come with us?" She asked. "Pleeeeeeease?"
"I told Lin that I was on vacation, but I have to go in and deliver a report, and I'll tell her I'm taking the day off."
"YAY!" Baani cheered. "But what about Halo?"
Jason looked upstairs and started to head up when Azin stopped him.
"I wouldn't go up there if I were you."
"What? Why not?"
"She's pissed. Like really pissed, and horny like a bitch in heat."
"Yeah. I like my junk where it is, thank you very much. Wait. Did she try and convince you to..."
"No, but she looked at me and looked disappointed for a second before getting a look like some of the... well. You know."
"Yeah. I know. Do you want me to go talk to her?"
"No. Not yet at least."
"Okay. I won't. Let's go get lunch."
"YAY!" Baani yelled before she ran outside followed by the others. They walked around Republic City and grabbed lunch before heading back. Korra, Baani, and Azin sat down while Jason walked up to Halo's room. He opened the door and closed it before shouting. "What the fuck Halo! What if Azin or Baani walked in and saw you doing that!"
"WELL THEN ITS A GOOD THING IT WAS YOU!" Halo yelled. "AT LEAST YOU'VE SEEN WHAT I HAVE!"
"Yeah! But I wasn't expecting to see that when I walked in!"
"AND WHY NOT! I WANT THIS BABY OUT OF ME!"
"I bet you're really regretting that night now; aren't Ya!"
"FUCK YOU! Actually. YEAH! GET IN HERE AND LET ME FUCK YOU!"
"That's not happening! I brought you lunch!"
"I DON'T WANT LUNCH! I WANT YOU!"
"Well, that's not happening so long as you're in that mood! I like my dick where it is!"
"YOU'RE SUCH A TEA..." Halo began moaning and Jason heard the sound of liquid hitting the floor. He walked in to see Halo shuddering, her pregnant stomach shaking in ecstasy, and she gasped heavily in pleasure. Silvery liquid coated the floor and ran down her thighs.
"Are you done?" He asked.
"Le-leave the food, and ge-get the fuck out."
Jason put the food on the nightstand and left the room, closing the door. He walked downstairs and saw the kitchen empty. He walked outside and saw the trio eating on the grass. "Sorry if I scared you guys away."
"I took them out before your shouting got any louder." Korra explained.
"Not that it did much." Azin said. "At least not for Halo."
"Yeah. Well. She wanted a baby. She got one. Now she's got to live with the consequences."
"I thought you guys were trying to make a relationship work." Korra said.
"Yeah. The keyword is 'trying'. But she's not the same person she was seven months ago. She's a lot more abrasive. It's like trying to get close to a cactus."
"That doesn't sound pleasant." Azin said.
"No. It isn't."
"Maybe you should just fuck her." Baani said.
"Whoa!" The others said. "Don't use that word."
"Why? Jason uses it all the time."
"That's because Jason is an adult. He can say whatever he wants to say." Azin stated.
Jason winced at that. 'Great. You're teaching your siblings how to swear. Such a great role model. Alfred would be so proud.' "Okay." He spoke. "It's not like I'm going to stop swearing any time soon, but no underage swearing. You can't swear until you're sixteen."
"Ah hell yeah." Azin cheered thrusting his fist into the air.
"Ah." Baani said. "That means I can't swear for four more years!"
"Sorry kiddo." Jason said.
"So, what do I say instead of 'fuck'?" She asked.
"Usually, you can say sleep with." Jason explained.
"So why don't you sleep with Halo?" Baani asked.
"Because... it's kind of like... how would you feel if one of the people who wanted to take you away from Azin came up to you and said that they'd changed their ways. How would you feel around them?"
Baani closed in on herself. "I wouldn't like that."
"It's kind of the same thing with Halo and myself. It's just a little different because Halo did what she did out of a twisted way of helping me while the people chasing you had no such intentions."
"Oh. Well... are you going to sleep with Korra?" Baani asked bouncing back with her characteristic excitement.
Korra and Jason went into shock at that.
"Uh..." Jason started.
"Um..." Korra began.
"You see..."
"The thing is..."
"OH, JUST FUCK HER ALREADY!" Halo shouted from her room. "THAT WAY AT LEAST ONE OF US IS GETTING PLEASED AROUND HERE! OR BETTER YET, SEND KORRA UP HERE SO YOU CAN STAY CELIBATE OR WHATEVER THE HELL YOU CALL IT!"
"Let's go." Jason said grabbing his box of pork Raman and heading for the door.
Halo's room.
Halo sat on her bed feeling the storm of emotions that being pregnant brought with it. Jason had every right to deny her the release that she needed. She deserved having to pleasure herself, but spirits damn it, she needed a good fucking!
"You called." A voice said from the other side of the door.
"Who's there?" She asked.
The door opened and a figure stood in her doorway. "Someone who came to answer your call." He said before he crossed his fingers in a cross shape and said something in a language she didn't understand. Next thing she knew there were five copies of him.
"Mind if we come in?" He asked in unison.
Jason, Korra, Naga, Azin and Baani walked through the streets of Republic City trying to see what they could see.
"So." Jason asked. "What should we do?"
"We could go to the park and play pro-Bending?" Azin suggested.
"That sounds fun." Korra said. "We could do boys Vs. Girls!"
"That means Mako is on your team." Jason said as they rounded the corner and walked into Mako, Bolin and Asami.
"What? How? How did you know that!" She asked.
"I have a sixth sense for hair spray and body lotion." Jason explained as he thought of a little blue bird.
"What?" Mako asked.
"Nothing." Jason said. "Azin wanted to play Pro-Bending."
"The Arena has been closed."
"And the council won't let normal people play pro-Bending?"
"It's called 'Pro-Bending'?"
"So is Basketball, Football, and Soccer, but people still play them casually."
"Say what now?" Bolin asked.
Jason facepalmed. "Screw your backwards world." He spoke. "We're playing Pro-Bending, and no one can stop us. So, are you in?"
"Sure."
"Okay. It's Team Avatar Vs. Team Red Hood." Jason said.
"But where are we going to play?"
They walked to a park, and Jason jumped onto a rock and cut a thirty-foot rectangle into the grass before he pulled up three feet of dirt from all around the rectangle and smoothed out the rock before he looked around. He found water, but not enough to fill the perimeter of the rectangle. He looked around them and began pulling the water vapor from the sky, and the clouds.
Korra looked at him in shock. "Where did you learn how to do that!" She yelled.
"What? You mean this isn't normal?"
"NO! The only other person I know who can do that is Katara, and she's old!"
Meanwhile in the South Pole.
Katara sneezed.
"Are you alright?" Senna asked.
"Oh, yes. I suppose someone must be talking about me."
"Okay. So long as you're all right."
"I'm not frail Senna, just old."
Jason looked at Korra. "So, what you're saying..."
"Is that you've unlocked a skill that I don't know if I could unlock."
"Well. The skills I have are Fire Bending, Lightning Bending, Earth Bending, Metal Bending, Water Bending, and Blood Bending."
"BLOOD BENDING!" Everyone yelled in horror.
"Yeah. It's not like I use it. I just have it. I don't know why or how I have it, I just do."
"When did you learn that you could Blood Bend?" Korra asked.
"About a year and a half ago, when I first arrived in Republic City. I was talking with Lin, and she tripped, I reached out to stop her from falling, but when I realized that I wasn't going to be able to reach her in time, I grabbed onto something. Turns out it was her blood."
The others were looking at Jason in... not quite fear, but something close to it.
"Guys." He said snapping his fingers and bringing them back to reality. "I'm still Jason. I don't even know why Blood Bending is so bad. All I know is that the other officers tried killing me for it."
"I wonder why." Mako growled.
"What the fuck makes Blood Bending so bad to begin with!?" He demanded.
"It's because you are hurting a person." Baani explained. "Blood Bending hurts the person you're using it on."
"What?!" He asked in shock before remembering the look of pain on Lin's face when he'd stopped her. She looked like she was in so much pain. Had he grabbed the blood in her veins? Was that why it was so painful? He didn't care that he did it to the villains he fought, but to Lin. To any innocent individual. He wouldn't do that.
"I see. I haven't used it for evil intentions. I used it the one time to help Lin. That was it."
"Don't use it anymore." Baani said.
"I won't." Jason lied. He would use it on the villains he fought if he needed to.
Jason went back to pulling the water out of the air, but it wasn't enough. He pulled the water from the ponds and dumped it into the moat. He looked around, and saw three more ponds around the park, and pulled the water from them and dumped them into the moat. Then he took the dirt and made earth disks with them setting them on either side of the arena. Finally, he drew seven lines across the Arena.
"One problem." Mako said. "We don't have protective gear."
"We aren't playing professionally. We are playing for the hell of it. If you don't think you can hold back enough to not hurt someone, just say so."
"No, no." Bolin said. "He has a point. Let me hit you with an earth disk, and you tell me if you don't need gear."
"Do it." Jason said.
Bolin threw an earth disk at Jason that shattered on contact. Jason brushed the dirt off. "Is that all you've got?"
"What? I don't understand. That should have done more damage."
Jason grabbed an earth disk with his earth Bending and threw it at Bolin. It shattered into dust. "Did you honestly think I would put Azin and Baani in danger by using the stadium earth disks?"
"I guess not."
"What about fire Bending?" Mako asked. "There's more to fire than just fire. There's also the heat behind it. How do you plan on protecting them from the heat?"
Jason looked at Mako. "Fine." He spoke. "Let's go grab the protective gear."
They left the park just as a constable walked by and saw the arena in the middle of the park.
"What happened!" The constable shouted. "What happened to the park!"
The group was walking through Republic City to find a store that sold the protective equipment to play Pro-Bending when they heard screeching tires, and explosions. Jason stepped in front of Azin and Baani and stood in an earth Bending stance in case he needed to throw up an earth wall.
A moving truck came screeching around the corner and past them, the doors flapping in the wind. Jason looked in the back of the truck and saw hostages. "Stay here." He said before Metal Bending his helmet around his head. He used his grapples to get to the roof and swung towards the truck. He grappled the truck and pulled himself through the doors before he kicked one of the guys. "I don't know who the hell you guys are..." He spoke. "...but I know that you done fucked up." He ran forward and grabbed one of the men and threw him towards the back of the truck before he headbutted a second before he threw him at the first man, and they fell out of the truck, and rolled out of sight. He ran to the third man and picked him up before metal Bending a hole in the roof of the truck and tossed him into the open air. He looked at the fourth guy and walked towards him before pushing the shiny metal of his helmet into his face causing the man to see a reflection of himself in the metal. "Now... you're going to tell me who the fuck you are, and why the fuck you are using these people as hostages."
The man babbled incoherently until Jason headbutted him hard enough to see stars.
Jason turned around to see the hostages. "Why did they take you?" He asked realizing that it was a mother and her two children.
"Because. We are Counselman Tarrlok's family. They were equalists hoping to use us as leverage against Tarrlok." The woman said.
"Hang on. I'm going to get you out of here." Jason said before the truck came to a hard stop, and Jason was sent flying into the front of the truck.
Two cloaked figures came to the back and saw Jason. They reached for the family, but Jason shot his grapple at the first one, skewering their hand before he ran forward and kicked at them sending them flying. The second reached for Jason with a shock glove, but Jason Earth Bent the ground causing it to open up before he buried the figure alive, and possibly crushing them in the process.
"Let's go." He said picking up the kids and jumping down to the ground. He helped the woman down and smelled something. He looked around the corner of the truck and looked back. "Run." He said urgently.
"What?" The woman asked.
"I SAID RUN!" He yelled pushing them forward. He pulled up on the earth and created a wall around the truck before he ran after the Counselman's family.
The truck exploded, and Jason jumped in front of the family and threw up a second wall before the explosion shattered the walls and threw him right at the family.
"I've got you!" Korra yelled grabbing Jason, but they were both pushed back by the Shockwave.
Jason activated his grapples and pulled them up to the roof of a building before he looked after the family.
Mako and Bolin had stepped in front of the family, Bolin making an earth wall like Jason, and Mako blasting bigger Debris into smaller debris. Asami, Azin, Baani, and Naga had gone to the family's side and were offering comfort where they could.
Jason and Korra jumped down to the street. Jason jolted and took in a quick hiss of air before he pushed the pain to the back of his mind. He would take care of that later. Right now, he needed to check up on the family. "Are you alright?" He asked.
"Alright in the fact that we are alive, or alright in the fact that we were just kidnapped in an attempt to make my husband stop his crusade against Amon?" Tarrlok's wife asked.
"The first one."
"Yes. Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now. Do you have a way to get into contact with Counselman…"
"PAOMAH!" A distressed voice called out. "RIKOTA! RIKOH!"
"Tarrlok!" The woman said.
"DADDY!" The children yelled.
The three ran off towards the man Jason knew as 'Ponytails'.
Tarrlok wrapped them in his arms before he hugged each of them and looked them over.
Jason read his lips.
"Are you okay? What happened?"
He watched as the three pointed at him, and he waited until someone walked in front of him before he disappeared.
Tarrlok looked bewildered at what had just happened but looked at his family before he walked them home.
Jason watched Tarrlok leave with his family. The man seemed about as slippery as a slug dipped in butter, but he seemed too genuinely care about his family.
"Hey." Korra said coming up behind him.
"Hey." He replied.
"I guess you're not in the mood for Pro-Bending today?"
"Not anymore."
"Want to head back home?"
"Yeah."
They met with the others and headed back to Jason's house.
Jason stood in the shower looking down at his bruised stomach and chest. He pulled the water from the shower and let it cover his torso. "Fuck." He swore. He watched as his bruises went from red to purplish black to greenish yellow." One more time, and I should be good as new." He spoke.
He showered and stepped out before toweling off. Someone knocked on the door and he wrapped his towel around his midsection before he answered the door.
"Are you okay?" Korra asked from the other side.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"
"You were limping on the way home, and you seemed to be having trouble walking up the stairs, and you've been in the shower for two hours."
"Really? I didn't realize I'd been in here that long."
"Yeah. Are you..." She looked down and saw yellowish green on his torso. "What the hell happened to you."
"Nothing. I just got hit by the earth wall I created to block the explosion."
"That's not nothing! That's a very big something! Did you heal yourself?"
"No." He said sarcastically. "That's why I was in the bathroom for two hours."
"Oh. Do you need help with healing it?"
"Is this just some tactic to get in my pants... or towel?" He asked causing Korra to blush.
"What! No!" Korra denied. "I just want to know if you need help seeing as it's hard to heal yourself with Water Bending."
"I did it just fine."
"You used Water Bending Healing on yourself!?"
"Uh... Yeah. Why, is something wrong with that?"
"No. It's just that it's not really heard of someone being able to heal themselves with Water. I mean there are Water Benders who can, like Katara, but you're like the second person I know who can heal themselves with their Water Bending."
"I guess I must be special or something."
"Or something." Korra said.
Jason opened the door wider so Korra could see him. "If you really want to give it a shot, knock yourself out."
Korra blushed as she walked in and saw Jason wearing nothing but a towel. she turned on the water in the sink and water Bent it over to Jason and wrapped it around his torso before she began looking around the bathroom, looking at anything but Jason.
"Ya know. It's more awkward to look anywhere but at me."
"What!?" Korra asked losing her control on the water and saturating Jason's towel causing it to slip, and fall. If Jason hadn't caught it, Korra would have gotten a good look at his...
"I am so sorry." Bolin said slamming the bathroom door closed. "I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING!" He yelled as he ran down the hall.
Korra blushed so deeply that Jason thought her nose was going to burst like in those anime's that Roy would watch sometimes. He tied his towel around himself and went to open the door only to find that Bolin had slammed it so hard that he broke the lock off inside it, trapping him and Korra in the bathroom. Or at least he would have if Jason wasn't a metal Bender. He pushed the lock back inside the door and opened the door before he went to his room.
Korra was so embarrassed. She ran to her room and slammed the door behind her.
Jason came out of his room five minutes later wearing a pair of black combat boots, charcoal grey tactical pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, and a red hoodie. He went to the bathroom and tossed his soaked towel in the hamper and looked at the door. He took the doorknob apart and looked at it before fusing the broken pieces together with metal Bending, and he put the door back together.
When he was done, he walked to Korra's room. He was just about to knock when he figured he'd better wait until later, let her come to terms with what had just happened. He walked towards the stairs and passed Halo's room when he caught a whiff of something. He walked to Halo's room and took a sniff. That was the smell of sex.
He knocked on the door. "Halo?" He asked.
"What do you want?" She all but cooed.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm better than alright." She sighed.
The door opened and Jason got hit with the odor of sex. A tall man who couldn't be older than Jason, wearing a black long-sleeved shirt that said: 'I have Issues!' across the front stood in the doorway. "Excuse me." He spoke.
"Who the hell are you?" Jason asked.
"I'm just a man. No one you need to worry yourself about."
"See you later Montey." Halo said waving at him.
"Good night, Miss Halo." Montey said. "I hope to see you again soon."
"Not until you answer some questions!" Jason snapped. "Who the hell are you, and how did you get in here."
"All you need to know Jason Peter Todd, is that I am an Ally. I mean you, your friends, your family, and Miss Halo no harm. I'm just here to help. As for how I got in here..." The figure walked towards the stairs. "...I used the door."
Jason grabbed the man's shoulder. "I don't think s..." Jason dropped to a knee and grabbed his arm.
"I hit all of the pressure points and Chakra points on your left side. You will be numb for several hours... well in your case it will likely be several minutes thanks to your healing factor, and when you do get feeling back your entire left side will feel like pins and needles for a while. So why not lay down?" He suggested before kicking Jason into Halo's room. "Why don't you use this time to make amends with Miss halo. He turned to Halo. "I'm sorry to leave like this Miss Halo." Montey said before. "If I've left you unsatisfied at all please take it up with Jason. Have a good day."
"Fucking SIMP!" Jason yelled after Montey.
Montey turned around and glared at Jason and pulled something from a box on his hip. He threw it at Jason, and Jason was suddenly pulled back towards… he looked behind him and saw that Halo had a chain that led to him. He looked down and saw a chain attached to a Kunai had wrapped itself around him. "What the hell is this fucking thing!" He demanded.
"'Kunai with Chain'." Montey explained. "It will disappear in time, but not until after you and Miss Halo have talked."
"Talked about what!" Jason demanded.
"If you are trying to stall me in the hopes that your friends will come to your aid you are sadly mistaken. They will not because they are frozen."
"What the hell did you do to them!"
"I froze them in time until you and Miss Halo have talked."
"Talked about what!" Jason reiterated.
"You two need to come to an understanding. I realize that what she did to you is wrong. She understands that what she did to you is wrong. Now all that's left is to make amends."
"If you care about her so much, then why don't you take her with you!" Jason spat.
Montey grabbed Jason and threw him out of the room and down the stairs before diving down the stairs after him and kicking him outside. "You really piss me off!"
"Oh yeah?" Jason asked metal Bending the 'Kunai with Chain' off of him and flexing before he walked over to Montey. "Tell me why?"
"Because! You..."Montey was cut off as Jason kicked him into a tree and grabbed him by the throat.
"You come into my house! You freeze my friends and family! What makes you think I won't kill you right here and now?"
"You're choosing to abandon your child. You're worse than your father! At least your father didn't have a choice to abandon you!'
Jason slammed Montey into the ground. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU CALL ME!"
"You're a shitty human being! You're worse than Batman!"
Jason threw Montey into the bricks of the house. "YOU DON'T KNOW A FUCKING THING ABOUT ME!"
Montey got up and laughed. "I know more about you than you know."
Jason used Earth Bending to trap Montey.
"Cute." Montey said before he glowed red, and the earth trap was demolished. "You may have Bending, and combat skills, but I have something better than that."
Jason created a crowbar with his metal Bending and swung it at Montey only for Montey to glow grey, and a sword appeared in his hand, and blocked his attack.
"I have Creation and Summoning magic!"
"Summoning Magic that lets you summon the ability to destroy Earth Bending traps and prisons?"
"Yes. That was Red Mana I used to demolish your little trap. If you want more evidence..." Montey glowed green and white before his injuries were healed. "That was Green/White Mana I used to heal myself. I could call down a lightning bolt to strike you down if I wanted too. Or I could kill you and bring you back as a Zombie who is completely loyal to me, or I could mind control you so that you believe you are a six-year-old girl, or I could exile you from this existence, make you an artifact and hide you away in a Helvault, or I could cause the plants to come alive and rip you apart."
"Real fucking original! You're just a knockoff poison Ivy with that ability."
"Oh, but that's not all I can do." Montey said pulling something from a pouch on his belt. He tossed it to Jason who caught it and looked at it. "'Spellbinding Circle'?" He asked.
Suddenly he was trapped in a circle with runes and hieroglyphs on it. "What the hell is this thing!" He demanded.
"That is the 'Spellbinding Circle'. It's a trap from another world in this Multiverse."
"Multiverse?!"
"Yes. I know that you're aware of the Multiverse, but did you know that there is a Multiverse surrounded around you?"
"What?"
"Yes. There is an entire Multiverse dedicated to you, and I must say that I am disappointed in you in this universe. All your other forms care a lot about those you befriend."
"And I do!"
"What about Halo?"
"Just because I don't fuck her doesn't mean I don't care."
"Wrong. You don't care about her. Now I can't blame you for hating her for what she did to you. I can't blame anyone for that. I know that you have done more than should be required of you, but what I can't forgive! What I CAN'T CONDONE! IS THE FACT THAT YOU KEEP TELLING HER THAT THERE IS A CHANCE FOR YOU GUYS TO REPAIR YOUR RELATIONSHIP WHEN YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF REPAIRING IT!"
"If you really know what she did. Why the hell do you think I would want to continue that relationship? I tried, but..."
"But then you went away for four months, and you let the darkness in your heart grow. You became the monster you need to be for this land. So, stop being an ass, tell Halo it's over, and quit making her hurt emotionally! At this point you're hurting the baby more than you are Halo! Are you really going to be the hypocrite who kills a child after you went out of your way to protect children in your other life!?"
"What?"
"You go out of your way to protect kids. When you were Robin you broke a guys collar bone because he was going to sell drugs to kids, when you were training to become the red hood you killed your trainers who were hurting kids, when you took over Gotham you told the Gangs that if they sold to kids you'd kill them, you went out of your way to help and protect kids, and now you want to kill one!"
"What!" Jason exclaimed horrified. "No!"
"Really? Could've fooled me."
"What are you, some kind of stalker?"
"No. I don't stalk people. In the world I come from, you don't exist. You're a comic Book Character."
"Really? You have Creation and Summoning Magic, but you read Comic Books?"
"How else do you expect me to learn how to summon stuff. I'm the biggest nerd I know in my world. That's how my Magic works. I read, play, write, etc. and I learn from all of that and that's how I Create and Summon. Want to see something?"
"Um... sure?"
Montey pulled twenty two cards from a pocket, and pulled a card at random before he showed him the card. "This is the 'Wish' card. It allows me to wish for any one thing that I want."
"Okay?"
"I wish that Halo had gotten Jason's consent."
There was a flash, and Jason dropped to his knees, holding his head. "OW! FUCK! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT FOR!"
"Do you remember that night!"
"WHAT!? Yes!"
"What happened that night?"
"I woke up in the room, on a bed. Halo came out and explained that her father told his group to kill me, but she stepped in front of me, and told him that they could use me. They just had to play it carefully. They took me to a hotel and waited for me to wake up. That's when she told me that my two options were to get her pregnant with my child, or the Agni Kai's would kill me. I told her to let them try, but she said that they would make me exhaust myself and then they would kill me and hang me like a trophy and a warning to anyone else who might try to attack them."
"What did you do?"
"We talked late into the night, and then we had sex, I impregnated her, she went home, her father had the money I wanted brought to me, and then Halo stayed with her family until her family was attacked by the Equalists. She was six months pregnant and ran as best as she could to a safe house I made where Lin found her and took her to the house we live in where she has stayed. We've been friends, but we don't have any romantic feelings towards each other, that night was strictly business."
"Excellent." Montey said negating the effects of 'Spellbinding Circle'. "Now. Let's go talk to Miss Halo, shall we?" He asked holding his hand out for Jason to take.
Jason took his hand and pulled himself up. They walked inside and up the stairs to Halo's room.
"Halo?" Jason asked knocking on the door.
"Yes?" Halo asked.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. You and Montey left only a few minutes ago. Is something wrong?"
"No." Montey said. "I just forgot something here." He said walking over to the bed and grabbed a key ring with seven orbs hanging from it. He put it in his pocket and looked at Halo. "Miss Halo, until next time."
"Bye." Halo said. "Don't forget to bring that thing with you next time."
Jason put a hand on Montey's chest. "Also, don't forget to put a tie or a sock on the door next time, and maybe some soundproofing."
"I'll remember." He spoke. "Also, call me Montgomery." With that he left.
"Are you guys going to Asami's tomorrow?" Halo asked.
"Yeah." Jason said.
"Good. I'll have Montey come over tomorrow while you guys are gone. Go enjoy yourselves."
"Will do. Let us know if you need anything."
"Ugh. You're such a mother hen! Go on. Get out. I'll let you guys know if I need anything."
Jason closed the door and walked downstairs. He watched as his friends and family were playing games, and couldn't help but feel that something had changed, possibly for the better.
AN: So, this chapter had A LOT of Drama in it, and introduced a new character, though if you follow my other stories then you will probably notice him. This chapter was more of a filler chapter, but the next chapter will get back on track. Enjoy.
