Disclaimer: I Don't own Doctor Who that goes to the BBC
In the 1600s, a man in a Restoration dress, King Charles II strode through the door, pushing a servant to the side, "Out of my way!" He reached another set of doors and pulled on them only to find them locked and on the other side of the doors was the Doctor's clothing cast over a stool, "Doctor! Rose! Doctor! Rose Smith!" In the other room was a painting of the Doctor in a god-like pose in the clouds, holding a trident on his right hand and his left hand was on his hip with a red swath of cloth is all that protects his modesty, "Doctor! Rose Smith!" The King finally burst through the door with a sword drawn. Two others were behind him, "Where's the Doctor and his wife Rose Smith?!"
"Doctor who? And who is this Rose Smith?" The artist, a Caucasian skinned woman named Matilda asked as she laughed, nervously. There was a muffled sneeze under Matilda's dress and the King used the tip of his sword to lift the hem of Matilda's dress as a naked Doctor peered out.
"You know, this isn't nearly as bad it looks," the Doctor told him as the King looked at him, angrily.
"I demand you tell me where your wife is?!" King Charles II demanded the Time Lord.
"Like, I'm gonna tell you," the Doctor told him.
Then they heard a snicker coming from one of the curtains, causing King Charles II to gesture to one of his men to investigate the curtain and they checked the curtain out and saw Rose hiding behind the curtain.
"Damn, I thought hiding behind the curtain would work this time," Rose said, "Last time I did that one of the Slitheen found me."
At Amy and Rory's flat, a few months after the Doctor and Rose took them to the planet called Honeymoon as they were dealing with a humanoid vulture-like species called the Shansheeth and met back up with Sarah Jane Smith and this was when Rose met her husband's former companion, Jo Grant, now known as Jo Jones when the Shansheeth claimed that the Doctor was dead, only for both Gallifreyans along with Jenny to stop their plans.
Rory was unpacking groceries as Amy read aloud from a book she was reading.
"At the personal intervention of the King, the unnamed doctor and his wife, Rose were both incarcerated without trial in the Tower Of London," she read.
"OK, but it doesn't have to be them," Rory told his wife.
"Two nights later a magical sphere some 20 feet across was seen floating away from the tower, bearing the mysterious doctor and his wife aloft," Amy said as she continued reading.
"OK...it's them," Rory relented.
"There's more," Amy told him.
In an underground tunnel, during World War II, A male Caucasian skinned British Prisoner of War, dressed in his underclothes, was lying on his stomach on a dolly as he looked up, "Doctor, Rose, what can you both see?"
The Doctor then popped their heads through a hole in the tunnel roof, "Is the commandant's office painted a sort of green colour with a big flag on the wall?"
Alarms then started blaring and beams from the searchlights made it through the tunnel.
"I think that means yes, Doctor," Rose told him as she pulled the Doctor back as they heard Wehrmacht soldiers shouting in German with dogs barking.
"It's like he's being deliberately ridiculous, trying to attract our attention with Rose trying her best to stop the Doctor from making a fool of himself but ultimately failing," Amy told Rory as she closed the book and sat on a couch, next to her husband as Laurel and Hardy's 'Sons of the desert played on their tv, "Are you watching this again?"
"I've explained the jokes," Rory told her as Amy got up and went to the door as the doorbell rang, "So what are you saying? Do you really think he's back there trying to wave to us out of history books with Rose trying her best stopping him from altering history that much? Rose is a historian after all."
As Rory looked down at the book, he missed seeing the Doctor appear on the screen in the movie waving at the camera before Rose grabbed his hand and pulled him away from the camera.
"It's the sort of thing they'd do. Thanks," Amy said as she took a letter from a postman and returned to her husband.
"Yeah, but why?" Rory asked her.
"They said they'd be in touch," Amy reminded him.
"Two months ago," Rory added.
"Two months is nothing. They're up to something, I know they are, I know them," she told him as she opened the letter.
"What is it?" Rory asked her, "Amy?"
"A date, a time, a map reference. I think it's an invitation," she answered.
"From who?" Rory asked her.
"It's not signed. Look, TARDIS blue!" Amy answered as she tossed it at him.
A blue envelope slid through the mail slot of Jenny's dorm room at Luna University, where River Song had put in a good word for her admission as Jenny wanted to take a break from her travels with her parents and maybe become scientific Advisor for UNIT like her father was. Jenny opened it and grinned. She went to her room and pulled a rucksack out of her cupboard.
Meanwhile in Cardiff, Wales, UK, a man walked up to Captain Jack Harkness, who was minding his own business at Roald Dahl Plass, near the remnants of Torchwood Three as he remembered when he lost Ianto.
"You Captain Jack Harkness?" The man asked.
"Yeah," Jack answered, "Why?"
"I have a letter for you," the man said as he handed a letter to Jack before walking away as Jack opened the letter and grinned as he began working on his Vortex Manipulator as he knew that the Doctor and Rose needed him.
Meanwhile at Stormcage in the 52nd century, a similar envelope to the others landed on a bed as a feminine hand reached down to pick it up as the woman was River Song as she opened the letter and smiled as she read the contents.
A while later, Alarms started blaring as men raced down the hall to River's cell as a guard with mixture of Caucasian and African skin tone was on the phone.
"You'd better get down here, sir. She's doing it again. Dr Song, sir. She's...packing," the guard said, "Says she's going to some planet called...America."
In Monument Valley, Utah, USA, a yellow school bus with the words San Juan School District on it drove down the road before stopping as Amy and Rory stepped off the bus, carrying backpacks.
"Thanks!" Amy told the bus driver.
"You're very welcome," the bus driver replied.
"Uh! This is it, yeah? The right place?" Amy asked as the bus drove off.
"Nowhere, middle of? Yeah, this is it," Rory answered as two figures were laying on a red 1960s station wagon behind them with one of them wearing a Stetson.
"Howdy!" One of the figures greeted them, causing Amy and Rory to turn to them.
"Doctor!" Amy exclaimed as she saw the Doctor.
"Hello, Amy. Hello, Rory," the second figure greeted as Amy and Rory both saw that the second figure had brunette hair and spoke with a London accent.
"Rose?" Amy said with disbelief.
"Yep," Rose confirmed as she stuck her tongue between her teeth as she got off of the car, "I've regenerated since we last saw you."
"Ha-ha! It's the Ponds!" The Doctor said, excitedly as he followed Rose and got off of the top of the car, "Pond One and Pond Two!" He then hugs Amy, "Hello, Ponds, come here!"
"So you both have been busy then, eh?" Amy remarked.
"Did you see me with Rose trying to stop me from altering history that much?" He asked her.
"Of course! Stalker!" Amy answered.
"Flirt!" The Doctor told her.
"Husband," Rory told him.
"And Rory the Roman! Oh, come here!" The Doctor said, greeting Rory before hugging him.
"Hey, nice hat," Rory complimented him.
"I wear a Stetson now, Stetsons are cool," the Doctor told him.
"It definitely makes you look hotter than the fez," Rose told her husband when they suddenly heard a gun fire as the Stetson was blown off the Doctor's head. The four of them turned around and saw two figures silhouetted against the sun. The figures moved slightly and they saw that it was River with Jenny standing next to her.
"Hello, Doctor. Hello, Rose," River greeted them as she blew her pistol's muzzle when Jack suddenly appeared behind River and Jenny.
"What trouble have you got for me this time, Doc and Rosie?" Jack asked before seeing River and held his hand out to her, "Captain Jack Harkness. And who are you?"
"River Song," River answered as she shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you, River song," he said, flirting with her before turning to see Jenny and held his hand out to her, "And you are?"
"Jennifer 'Jenny' Lillian Smith," Jenny answered as she shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you, Jenny," Jack said, flirting with Jenny.
"Jack, that's our daughter!" The Doctor and Rose both said at the same time with annoyance in their voices.
A while later, in a booth in a diner, the Doctor, Rose and River were comparing notes in their diaries while Amy, Rory, Jenny and Jack were getting Cokes at the counter.
"Right then, where are we? Have we done Easter Island yet?" River asked both Time Lords.
"Yes, we've got Easter Island!" The Doctor answered.
"They worshipped the two of you there!" River told then, "Have you both seen the statues?"
"Jim the Fish," the Doctor added as Amy, Rory, Jenny and Jack joined them.
"Oh, Jim the Fish! How is he?" River asked them.
"Last we heard he was still building his dam," Rose answered.
"Sorry, what are you three doing?" Rory and Jack asked at the same time.
"They're both time travellers like you Jack, so they never meet in the right order. They're syncing their diaries," Jenny explained.
"So what's happening, then?" Amy asked the Doctor and Rose, "Because you both have been up to something."
"We've been running...faster than we've ever run, and I've been running my whole life while Rose has been since she opened her Fob Watch when she was a Chameleon Arched human named Rose Tyler. Now it's time for us to stop. And tonight we're going to need you all with us," the Doctor answered.
"OK, we're here, what's up?" Amy asked them.
"A picnic! And then a trip. Somewhere different, somewhere brand-new," the Doctor answered.
"Where?" Amy asked them.
"Space," Rose answered, "1969."
A while later at Lake Silencio, the Doctor was stretched out on a large picnic blanket with Rose while Amy, Rory, River, Jenny and Jack were sitting around the edges.
"Salut!" The Doctor said, giving the others a toast.
"Salut!" The others said, repeating him as they gave him a toast.
"So when are we going to 1969?" Rory asked.
"And since when do either of you drink wine?" Jack asked the Doctor and Rose.
"We're 1,103 - we must have drunk it some time," the Doctor told him as he drank from the bottle before spitting the wine out while Rose on the other hand swallowed it, "Oh, wine's horrid! I thought it would taste more like the gums."
"1,103? You both were 908 the last time we saw you two," Amy said with disbelief, "And Rose, after you both rebooted the Universe you became the same age as the Doctor again after staying with Rory to protect me when I was placed in the Pandorica."
"You've put on a couple of pounds. I wasn't going to mention it," the Doctor told Amy.
"Rude!" Rose said as she hit her husband on the arm, playfully.
"Who's that?" Amy asked as she looked up to the dunes and saw a figure above them silhouetted by the sun.
"Who's who?" Rory asked her.
"Sorry, what?" Amy asked as she looked at Rory.
"What did you see? You said you saw someone," Rory told her.
"No, I didn't," Amy said as she forgot that she saw the figure.
"Ah! The moon, look at it! Of course, you lot did more than look, didn't you? Big silvery thing in the sky, you couldn't resist it. Quite right," the Doctor told them.
"Definitely," Rose said, agreeing with her husband.
"The moon landing was in '69," Rory told them, "Is that where we're going?"
"Oh, a lot more happens in '69 than anyone remembers. Human beings... We thought we'd never get done saving you," the Doctor told him as a pickup truck pulled onto the sand behind them as an older man stepped out as both the Doctor and Rose both stood up and waved at the man as they held each other's hand.
"Who's he?" Amy asked.
"I've never seen him before either," Jack said, not recognizing the man either as he, Jenny, Rory and River stood up as well.
"Oh, my God!" River cried as she saw an astronaut in the lake before the others did as Amy stood up.
"You all need to stay back," the Doctor told them, "Whatever happens now, you do not interfere. Clear?"
"Got it?" Rose asked, agreeing with her husband.
Jack, Amy, Rory, Jenny and River all nodded as both the Doctor and Rose walked up to the astronaut.
"That's an astronaut. That's an Apollo astronaut in the lake. Look," Rory said to Amy as the Doctor and Rose stood in front of the astronaut on the beach.
"Hello. It's OK, we know it's you," the Doctor told the astronaut as they opened its visor, "Well then…"
"Hello," Rose greeted the person that was in the astronaut suit as the others watched as the Doctor and Rose silently spoke to the astronaut before they bowed their heads.
"What are they doing?" Amy whispered as the astronaut fired at both Time Lords as they staggered backwards.
"Doctor!" Amy yelled as she rushed towards them but Rory and River held her back.
"Mum! Dad!" Jenny yelled, only for Jack to hold her back as well.
"Amy! Jenny Stay back! The Doctor and Rose both said to stay back!" River reminded them as the astronaut fired again as the Doctor and Rose both fell to their knees.
"No!" Amy and Jenny yelled.
"You both have to stay back!" River told them.
"Amy, Jenny, listen to River!" Jack said, agreeing with her.
"No!" Both Amy and Jenny yelled yet again as both the Doctor and Rose stood back up as regeneration energy began to come out of their hands.
"Doctor! Rose!" Amy yelled.
"Mum! Dad!" Jenny yelled at the same time.
Both the Doctor and Rose looked over to the others, "We're sorry."
The Doctor and Rose both then tilt their heads back as both of their regeneration starts in earnest. The astronaut fired yet again as the Doctor and Rose both collapsed to the ground.
"No! Doctor! Rose!" River yelled as the five of them ran to the Doctor and Rose's bodies as the astronaut slowly walked back into the lake.
"Doctor, Rose please!" Amy begged as she and Jenny kneeled beside both Time Lord's bodies as River kneeled beside them and took their vital signs with her handheld device.
"River... River!" Amy and Jenny said at the same time as River's device beeped, causing them to look at River as Jack took out his pistol and began firing at the astronaut until his pistol ran out of ammunition.
"You can stop now, Sweetie," River told Jack, "They're dead."
"River, they can't be dead," Amy said, crying, "This is impossible."
"Whatever that was, it killed them in the middle of their regeneration cycles. Their bodies were already dead. They didn't make it to the next one," River explained.
"So they have limited amount of regenerations?" Jack asked her, "I thought they had unlimited amount."
"They have 12 regenerations, 13 lives, Jack," River explained, "The Doctor was on his twelfth body and had one more life left, while Rose was on her fifth body and had eight more."
"Maybe they're clones or duplicates or something," Amy said as she continued to cry.
The man from the truck then walked over to them, "I believe I can save you some time. Those most certainly are the Doctor and Rose, and they are most certainly dead. They'd said you'd need this," the man said as he placed a gas tank at the Doctor's feet.
"Gasoline?" Jack asked.
"A Time Lord and a Time Lady's body are miracles. Even dead ones. There are whole empires out there who'd rip this world apart for just one cell from either of them. We can't leave them here. Or anywhere," River explained.
"Mum, Dad! Please wake up! Go on, wake up, you stupid bloody idiots!" Jenny said, pleading with her parents as she stroked her mother's face as Amy rested her head on the Doctor's chest.
"What do we do, Rory?" Amy asked her husband.
"We're their friends. We do what the Doctor and Rose's friends always do," River said as she picked up the gas can, "As we're told."
"I agree, and this could pay Rose for when she accidentally turned me immortal with the Time Vortex," Jack said, agreeing with her.
"There are boats," Rory said, looking around as he saw two boats, "If we're going to do this...let's do it properly."
A few hours later at night, The Doctor and Rose's bodies burn in both boats as they float in the lake as the six of them stood on the shore as they watched both Gallifreyan bodies burn.
"Who are you? Why did you come?" River asked the man.
"Same reason as you," the man answered as he pulled out an envelope from his pocket and after a moment's hesitation, River pulled out hers and looked at him, "Dr Song... Captain Jack Harkness… Jenny...Amy... Rory. I'm Canton Everett Delaware III. I won't be seeing you again. But...you'll be seeing me," he then picked up the gas can and headed back to his truck.
River watched him go before turning to Jack, Amy, Jenny and Rory, "Six."
"Sorry, what?" Jack asked.
"The Doctor and Rose numbered the envelopes," River explained.
Jack, Jenny, River, Amy and Rory soon entered the diner again as River continued her explanation as Amy was still in shock.
"Jack, you got two, Jenny, you were three, Amy, Rory you were four, I was five, Mr Delaware was six," River explained.
"So?" Rory asked.
"So where's one?" Jack asked, getting at what River was talking about.
"You both think they invited someone else?" Rory asked them.
"Well, they must have," River answered, "They planned all of this to the last detail."
"Will you shut up? It doesn't matter," Amy told them.
"They were up to something," Jack told her.
"They're dead," Amy told him.
"Space 1969, what did Rose mean?" River asked.
"You're still talking, but it doesn't matter," Amy told them.
"Hey, it mattered to them," Rory told her.
"So it matters to us," River, Jack and Jenny said at the same time.
"They're dead," Amy reminded them.
"But they still need us," Jack told her, "I know. Amy...I know and I think River and Jenny both know as well. But right now we have to focus."
Rory then spots one of the envelopes on one of the tables, "Look," he said before speaking to the man behind the counter, "Excuse me, who was sitting over there?"
"Some guy and some girl," the man behind the counter answered.
"The Doctor and Rose both knew they were going to their deaths, so they sent out messages," River realized as she picked up the envelope, "When you know it's the end, who do you call?"
"Your friends, people you trust," Jack answered.
"Number one," River said as she held up the envelope, "Who did the Doctor and Rose trust the most?"
At that moment, the back door opened and in strolled the Doctor with a straw in his mouth with Rose, next to him with blonde hair and her northern accent. Jack, Jenny, Amy, River and Rory all stared at them with disbelief on their faces. They both smiled as the Doctor pointed at them.
"This is cold. Even by both of your standards, this is cold," River told them.
"Or, Hello, as people used to say," the Doctor told them.
"Mum? Dad?" Jenny said, still shocked to see her parents alive and well.
"I just popped out to get my special straw. It adds more fizz," the Doctor told them.
"You guys look like you've seen a ghost," Rose said, "Don't you agree, Doctor?"
"You're right, Arkytior," he said, "They do look like they've seen ghosts."
Amy then walked up to them, staring at them with disbelief, and walked around them in a circle, "You're both OK," she then touched them, "How can you be OK? And Rose, how can you be blonde and still have your Northern accent?"
"Of course we're OK, we're always OK," the Doctor said as he hugged Amy, "We're the king and queen of OK. Oh, that's a rubbish title, forget that title." He then released her, "Rory the Roman, that's a good title. Hello, Rory!" He then hugged him.
"Haven't seen you for a while, Jack," Rose told the ex-Time Agent and hugged him before turning to Jenny, "Hello, Jenny, sweetheart. How's university?"
"Fantastic, Mum," Jenny said in a tone as she was still confused on how her parents could be alive.
"And Dr River Song…" the Doctor said as he turned to River, "Oh, you bad, bad girl, what trouble have you got for me and Rose this time?" She then slapped him hard on the cheek, "OK. I'm assuming that's for something me and Rose haven't done yet."
"Yes, it is," River answered.
"Good, looking forward to it," the Doctor told her.
"Me too," Rose said, agreeing with him.
"I don't understand. How can you both be here?" Rory asked as he poked the Doctor in the chest, "And how can Rose be in her fourth body?"
"We were invited," the Doctor answered, "Date, map reference. Same as you lot, I assume, otherwise it's a hell of a coincidence."
"What do you mean, 'still in my fourth body'?" Rose asked, confused by what he meant.
"River, Jack, what's going on?" Amy asked.
"Amy, Jenny, ask them what age they are," River told Amy and Jenny.
"That's a bit personal," the Doctor muttered.
"Tell them. Tell them what age you both are," River ordered then.
"We're 909," Rose answered.
"Yeah, but Doctor, you said…" Amy began.
"So where does that leave us? Jim the Fish? Have we done Jim the Fish yet?" River asked them.
"Who's Jim the Fish?" The Doctor and Rose both asked at the same time.
"I don't understand," Amy admitted.
"Nor do I," Jenny said, agreeing with her.
"Yeah, you both do," Rory argued.
"I don't! What are we all doing here?" The Doctor asked.
"We've been recruited. Something to do with space, 1969, and a man called Canton Everett Delaware III," Jack explained.
"Recruited by whom?" Rose asked as she walked away with the Doctor.
"Someone who trusts you both more than anybody else in the universe besides each other," River answered.
"And who's that?" The Doctor asked as he and Rose turned back around.
"Spoilers," River answered.
The Doctor and Rose walked around the console, with the Doctor talking while the others just stood around, each lost in thought.
"1969, that's an easy one. Funny how some years are easy. Now, 1482, full of glitches," the Doctor told them, "Now then, Canton Everett Delaware III, that was his name, yeah? How many of those can there be? Well, three, I suppose."
"I wouldn't assume otherwise," Rose muttered as Amy left and went to the area underneath the console with Jack and Jenny before River followed them.
"Rory, can you find you if anyone is cross with us for some reason?" Rose asked Rory.
"I'll find out," Rory answered as he left the Time Lord couple with them looking over Rory's shoulder, concerned.
"Theta, do you suspect that they're keeping something from us?" Rose asked.
"I do, Arkytior," he answered.
Underneath the TARDIS console, Amy was sitting cross-legged on the floor with Jack and Jenny standing next to her as Rory joined them and stood beside River.
"Explain it again," Amy requested.
"The Doctor and Rose we saw on the beach were future versions, 200 years older than the ones up there," River explained.
"So that explains why Rose had brown hair when we met her earlier," Jack realized.
"Yes, it does, Sweetie," River confirmed.
"But all that'll still happen? They'll still die?" Amy asked.
"Most of us are going to do that, Amy," Jack told her, "I can't because I'm immortal."
"We're not all going to arrange our own wake and invite ourselves," Rory told them. "So the Doctor and Rose in the future, knowing they're going to die, recruit their younger selves and all of us to...to what exactly? Avenge them?"
"Mm-mm, avenging's not their style," Jenny told them, "I know Mum and Dad, they hate avenging people and War and violence."
"Save them," Amy suggested.
"That's not their style either," Rory told her.
"We have to tell them," Amy said as she stood up.
"We've told them all we can. We can't even tell them we've seen their future selves," Jack explained, "They've interacted with their own past. It could rip a hole in the universe."
"Except the Doctor has done it before," Amy reminded them.
"And, in fairness, the universe did blow up," Rory told her.
"But they'd want to know," Amy told them.
"Would they? Would anyone?" Jenny asked her.
"I'm being extremely clever up here with Rose, and there's no-one to stand around, looking impressed. What's the point in having you all?" The Doctor said, sticking his head down for the edge for a second before getting back up.
"Couldn't you just slap him sometimes?" River asked as she, Rory, Jack and Jenny headed for the stairs, "And I know Rose does that on a daily basis when he screws up."
"River, we can't just let them die. We have to stop it. How can you and Jack be OK with this?" Amy asked them.
"The Doctor and Rose's deaths doesn't frighten me, nor does my own. There's a far worse day coming for me," River explained.
"And I've lived for so long, Amy," Jack told her, "I've lost so many friends over the years, Ianto, Tosh, Owen, Suzie."
"Time isn't a straight line, it's all bumpy-wumpy. There's loads of boring stuff, like Sundays and Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons. But now and then there are Saturdays, big temporal tipping points when anything's possible," the Doctor said as he was showing off again as he walked around the console.
"Showing off as usual again, I see," Rose told her husband as she sat down on one of the TARDIS's seats.
"The TARDIS can't resist them, she loves a party, so I give her 1969 and NASA, 'cause that's space in the '60s, and Canton Everett Delaware III, and this is where she's pointing," the Doctor went on as he showed the others the scanner.
"Washington DC, April 8th, 1969," Amy read, "So why haven't we landed?"
"Because that's not where we're going," the Doctor answered.
"Where are we going?" Rory asked.
"Home! Well, you two are. Off you pop and make babies," the Doctor told them, "Jack, back to Torchwood…"
"About that, Doc," Jack began.
"What's wrong, Jack?" Rose asked him.
"Torchwood has been disbanded, Rosie," Jack answered, "A few months after I saw you last and met Amy. The government blew up Torchwood Three by putting a bomb inside my stomach but during the whole ordeal near the end Ianto was killed."
"Oh, Jack, I'm so sorry," Rose said as she went to comfort him.
"Maybe I can travel with you two for a while," Jack requested.
"We can do that," the Doctor said as he turned to River, "Dr Song, back to prison and Jenny, back to University. Me and Rose and now Jack, We'll be late for a biplane lesson in 1911, or it could be knitting. Knitting or biplanes, one or the other."
The Doctor then flopped onto the captain's chair, rubbing his forehead as Rose approached him and sat next to him as the others approached them as he looked up, annoyed.
"What? A mysterious summons? You think I'm just going to go, only Rose could convince me?" The Doctor told them.
"Who sent those messages?" Rose asked them, "Me and the Doctor both know that all of you know, we can see it in your faces."
"Don't play games with us. Don't ever, ever think you're capable of that," the Doctor added.
"You both are going to have to trust us this time," River told them.
"Trust you? Sure," the Doctor said as he stood up and walked over to her, "But first of all, Dr Song, just one thing... Who are you? You're someone from our future, getting that, but who? OK... Why are you in prison? Who were the couple that you killed? Hmm? But trust you? Seriously?"
"Trust me," Amy told him.
"OK," the Doctor said as he walked over to face Amy.
"You and Rose have to do this, and neither of you can't ask why," Amy told them.
"Are you being threatened? Is someone making you say that?" He asked her.
"No," she told him.
"You're lying," he told her.
"I'm not lying," she insisted.
"Swear to me. Swear to me on something that matters besides Rose," the Doctor said.
"Fish fingers and custard," Amy told him.
"My and Rose's lives in your hands, Amelia Pond," the Doctor said after a few moments of silence.
"Thank you," River told her.
"So! Canton Everett Delaware III!" The Doctor said as he began to look him up in the TARDIS databanks.
"He was an FBI agent, but got kicked out," Rose told her husband as she read the databanks on the scanner.
"Why?" He asked her.
"It doesn't say but six weeks after he left the Bureau, the President contacted him for a private meeting," Rose answered.
"Yeah, 1969, who's President?" He asked her.
"Richard Milhous Nixon, elected November 5th, 1968. Most known for the Vietnam war and Watergate…" Rose answered, "But he did some good stuff as well from when he was Vice President to Eisenhower."
"Right, let's set the coordinates," he said as he and Rose set the TARDIS's coordinates.
"OK, since we don't know what we're getting into, we're being discreet, putting the engines on silent," the Doctor told Amy, Rory, Jenny and Jack as he flipped a switch and walked away as a loud metallic screeching fills the room. Rose then walked by and flipped another switch as the screeching stopped as the Doctor walked back over to her, "Did you do something, Rose?"
"I only stopped the screeching sound," Rose answered.
"Thanks, Rose," he said before giving her a quick kiss, "Putting the outer shell on invisible. Haven't done this in a while, big drain on the power," he then went to another panel.
"You can turn the TARDIS invisible?" Jack asked and with a grin, the Doctor switched on a lever and blinding spotlights switched on as Rose leaned over and pushed a lever.
"Very nearly," Rose corrects him.
"Er, did you touch something?" He asked his wife.
"Just completing turning the TARDIS invisible," Rose answered.
"Thanks, Rose. The others might learn something. OK," he said before he banged on the scanner, "Now, me and Rose can't check the scanner, it doesn't work when we're cloaked. Um, Just give us a mo." He then ran to the door but stops when the others try to follow him, "Whoa, who, whoa, whoa, you lot, wait a moment. We're in the middle of the most powerful city in the most powerful country on Earth. Let's take it slow," he then exited the TARDIS.
The Doctor stepped out of the cloaked TARDIS to find himself in the Oval Office and saw that he was not alone as a middle man black hair and an older man who had dark brown hair and they were President Richard Nixon and Canton Everett Delaware III. Fortunately, both men had their backs away from him as they were listening to a recorded phone call.
"Hello? Who is this? This is President Nixon. Who's calling? Is this you again?" Nixon said on the recording.
"Mr President?" The voice of a little girl said on the recording.
"A child?" Canton asked as the Doctor stepped closer to them.
"This is the President, yes," the recorded voice of Nixon said.
"I'm scared, Mr President. I'm scared of the Space Man," the recorded voice of the little girl said.
"A little girl?" Canton asked.
"Boy," Nixon answered.
"How can you be sure?" Canton asked him.
"What space man? Where are you phoning from, where are you right now? Who are you?" The recorded voice of Nixon asked as the Doctor took out a small notebook from his pocket and began to write things down.
"Jefferson Adams Hamilton," the recorded voice of the child answered.
"Jefferson, listen to me…" the recorded voice of Nixon said as the phone hung up as they all heard a dial tone.
"Surely this is something the Bureau could handle, sir?" Canton asked him.
"These calls happen wherever I am. How do I know the Bureau isn't involved? I can't trust any…" Nixon began to say as he turned around and saw the Doctor writing notes, Canton stood up as he followed Nixon and saw the Doctor as well.
The Doctor kept writing and even motions for the two men to continue as if he weren't there. He then felt their eyes on him and looked up.
"Oh! Hello! Bad moment?" The Doctor said as he began to back away, "Oh, look, this is the Oval Office. I was looking for the... Oblong Room." He then back into a lamp and stopped it from falling over as Nixon pressed a button on his desk for security, "I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, just be off then, shall I?" He then walked towards the cloaked TARDIS and fell to the floor.
The TARDIS rocked from the Doctor walking into it.
"Every time!" Rose and River both muttered at the same time.
The Doctor then got back up, rubbing his face, "Don't worry. Always does that when it's cloaked," Canton then tackled him, knocking him to the floor, "No, stop that!"
River swung the scanner over as she and Rose worked on the controls.
"He said the scanner wouldn't work," Jack, Rory and Jenny all said at the same time.
"I know," River said as the scanner's wires sparked.
"Ow!" The Doctor cried as some members of the Secret Service entered, with one of them being of African descent.
"Lock down, lock down!" The Secret Service agent of African descent said.
River got the scanner working as they saw the Doctor on the floor, his face pressed into the carpet.
"Not that! Ow!" The Doctor cried on the scanner.
"Rose, River, have either you got the scanner working yet?" The Doctor from the Oval Office.
"Oh, I hate him, sometimes!" River muttered.
"No, you don't," the Doctor told her.
"Get the President out of here!" Canton ordered a few of the Secret Service agents before turning to Nixon, "Sir, you have to go with them now!"
"Rose, make her blue again!" The Doctor yelled.
Rose then flicked some switches and levers to shut off the TARDIS's cloaking device.
As the TARDIS becomes visible, Canton and the other men holding the Doctor released him as they stared, open-mouthed, at the TARDIS.
"What the hell is that?" Nixon asked.
Soon the Doctor made himself comfortable at the President's desk, even putting up his feet, "Mr President!" The Secret Service agents then pointed their guns at him, "That child just told you everything you need to know, but you weren't listening. Never mind, the answer's yes. I'll take the case! Fellas, the guns, really? I just walked into the highest security office in the United States, parked a big blue box on the rug. You think you can just shoot me?"
"Why wouldn't they, Doctor," Rose asked as she, River, Amy, Rory, Jenny and Jack left the TARDIS, "Most Americans love guns."
"Don't shoot, definitely no shooting!" The Doctor said as he stood up with his hands up.
"Don't shoot us either. Very much not in need of getting shot. Look, we've got our hands up," Rory told them.
"Who the hell are you?' Nixon asked them.
"Sir, you need to stay back," Canton warned the President.
"But who, but who are they? What is that box?" Nixon asked the Doctor.
"It's a Police Box, can't you read? I'm your new undercover agent, on loan from Scotland Yard," the Doctor answered, "Code name, the Doctor. These are my top operatives, the Wife, the Anomaly, the Immortal, the Legs, the Nose, and Mrs Robinson."
"I hate you," River muttered.
"No, you don't! You love Jack more," the Doctor told her.
"Who are you?" Nixon asked.
"Boring question," the Doctor told him, "Who's phoning you, that's interesting. 'Cause Canton Three is right, that was definitely a girl's voice. There's only one place in America she can be phoning from."
"Where?" Canton asked the Time Lord.
"Do not engage with the intruder, Mr Delaware," the Secret Service agent that was of African descent told Canton.
"You heard everything I heard, it's simple enough. Give me five minutes, I'll explain," the Doctor said as he sat back down at the desk, "On the other hand, lay a finger on me, my wife, or our friends, and you'll never, ever know."
"How'd you get it in here?" Canton asked him, "I mean, you didn't carry it."
"Clever, eh?" The Doctor asked him.
"Love it," Canton complimented him.
"Do not compliment the intruder," the Secret Service agent of African descent told him.
"Five minutes?" Canton asked as he opened his hand to show him his fingers and thumb.
"Five," the Doctor answered.
"Mr President, that man is a clear and present danger," the Secret Service agent of African descent told Nixon.
"Mr President, that man walked in here with a big blue box with his wife and five of their friends and that's the man he walked past," Canton told the President, "One of them's worth listening to. What say we give him five minutes, see if he delivers."
"Thanks, Canton!" The Doctor said as he grinned.
"If he doesn't, I'll shoot him myself," Canton finished.
"Not so thanks," the Doctor told him.
"Sir, I cannot recommend…" the Secret Service agent of African descent protested.
"Shut up, Mr Peterson," Nixon said to the Secret Service agent of African descent before turning to Canton, "All right."
"Five minutes," Canton said as he turned to the Doctor.
"I'm going to need a SWAT team ready to mobilise, street level maps covering all of Florida, a pot of coffee, 12 jammy dodgers and a fez," the Doctor told them as he put his feet down from the desk as the Secret Service Agents lowered their guns from Rose and the others.
"Get him his maps!" Canton ordered.
Fun Fact: Richard Milhous Nixon was born in 1913 in Yorba Linda in California and was the Vice President of Dwight D. Eisenhower and ran for president in 1960 but lost to JFK but ran again in 1968 and won and was President from 1969 to 1974 when he resigned from fears of impeachment due to Watergate.
Also should I show when Rose regenerates or should it happen between Closing time and The Wedding of River Song and where should Rose, Jenny and Jack before at in the beginning of the next episode, should one of them be at Yellowstone?
