A/N: hey guys here is a new chapter. I'm slowly but surely updating this. This is a bit of a plot twist so hope you all are prepared lol. Anyways enjoy!
The rain fell as people gathered around the grave sight. Aria and Sebastian stood in silence as the preacher was saying a prayer just before her parents were then lowered to the ground.
And just like that people left. They didn't really have much to say but their condolences to Aria. She figured her parents burnt every bridge imaginable. But at least they had the decency to show up. "You ok?" Sebastian asked her. Aria nodded before letting out a deep breath "yes I'm ok. Let's go to the house and start cleaning it out. The faster we get this done the sooner we can go home to our farm." She said.
Sebastian watched her get into the car. He knew she was grieving in her own way but he was still concerned about her and their unborn children. Since he didn't know where her old house was he let Aria drive.
Since it was no longer a crime scene and the crime scene cleaners came and cleaned the area in which her parents were killed they were given the "ok" to take care of everything. Aria planned to put the house up for sale she didn't want anything more to do with it.
Once it was cleaned up she would contact a realtor and let them take care of it. Sebastian felt the car stop "we're here. She said. Sebastian grabbed her hand making her look at him "are you sure you'll be ok? We can always hire someone to clean everything."
Aria shook her head "I'm sure. I'd rather go through their things than to pay someone to do it and things of value be stolen." She told him. Sebastian nodded before giving her a quick kiss.
They got out of the car and walked up the front steps before Aria got the key out and unlocked the door. Aria was in a state of shock the house was a mess! She knew it was partially her ex to blame; he probably came in unannounced and fought her parents while they were intoxicated.
She shook the thought and began to look for trash bags and justice that she and Sebastian started cleaning the bottom floor. It was only a two story home with no basement much to Aria's relief. "You weren't kidding about the drinking, there's glass bottles everywhere." Sebastian stated making Aria nodded.
Bag after bag the pillow of trash grew and grew. All that's left was to get rid of the furniture on the main floor. "Let's take a break dear and get some lunch you need to eat to keep up your strength." Sebastian told her.
She knew he was worried and she was glad. This whole ordeal was a lot to take in for the both of them. "That sounds like a good idea we need to get a dumpster sent here anyway to put the trash in." She responded. They had food ordered and brought to the house while they waited for the dumpster to be brought. "So have you lived here when you were younger?" Sebastian asked.
Aria nodded "yes ever since I can remember." Sebastian walked over to one of the pictures on the wall that led up to the stairs. They were of her when she was younger. They looked happy during that time. "Do you want to take any of these pictures with us?" He asked.
Aria shook her head "no there's nothing really I want from here. I want to be rid of it all." She said bitterly. Sebastian couldn't tell if she was genuinely mad or if it was one of her mood swings from the pregnancy talking. But then again he couldn't blame her from all the pain and painful memories she endured in this house.
Once the food arrived they sat in silence as they ate. Luckily for Aria the morning sickness was gone for now so she could basically eat everything she wanted with a few exceptions. "All that's left is upstairs then?" Sebastian asked. Aria nodded "yes then all we have to do is have the restore place come get the furniture and then we can sell it. And be done with it."
Sebastian took the empty container and put it in the trash just as Aria did the same. Sebastian took the pictures down off the wall as they made their way up the stairs. It wasn't as dirty but it was still bad.
They did her old room first which didn't take very long. There were some things in there that she was going to take back with them that she couldn't when she left. But her parents room was the hardest. All the clothes and jewelry that was in there so that's where the money they took from her went.
Would it be petty of her to take the jewelry and keep it for herself? Or should she just sell it all? She decided to get rid of it in the long run. Sebastian began cleaning out the closet when a box fell from the top shelf.
It landed on its side making the lid and its contents to spill out of it. He decided to look through it while she was looking through clothes and jewelry to sell. One thing that puzzled Sebastian was that he stumbled onto some baby pictures of Aria but she was not in the arms she called parents. It was a woman with teal hair the same shade as Aria's and a man with brown hair both of them happy as can be holding her.
He studied the picture a little more when he noticed the background. It was pelican town. He flipped it over and it said Aria with mom and dad on the back of it. Then it hit him that the people who claimed to be her parents did not look like her at all. The woman in the picture looked exactly like Aria.
As if she needed more stress added to her. He looked through the box and found Aria's birth certificate with her parents' names on it as well as more pictures. Something was off and not by a little but a lot.
He took a deep breath. This was going to be hard. He felt she needed to know but this will tear her apart and put more stress on her. "Darling?" He asked. Aria stopped what she was doing and looked at Sebastian curiously "yes Seb?" She replied. Sebastian motioned her over to him. She got up and sat down on the bed next to him. She watched him take a deep breath.
Whatever he was about to tell her wasn't good. "Aria I found something that you should see. The people who claimed to be your parents weren't who you think they were." He told her. She looked at him before he handed her the picture and the birth certificate. He watched her closely for any reaction. Then he saw it. Tears. The tears began to fall as she smiled slightly. "You know I always felt like there was something odd about who my parents were. Thank you Seb." She said
Sebastian held her closely and rubbed her back. He felt this was a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. But what remained was questions. Just who were her parents? Why did they let these horrible people take her and finish raising her? Would she ever find out who her real parents are? Her mind was swimming.
Aria straightened herself "Let's get this stuff done I want to go home." She said. Sebastian nodded as they put that box away for safe keeping and vegan to clean out the rest of the room. Hopefully Lewis could provide them some answers.
