A New Day 1

~Get Along With New Person~

I wake up in what might be the brightest room that I have ever been in, or is it not a room but a white space? It doesn't matter. I slowly walk around for a few meters before I see something in front of me, I try to get a close look at it and I see that it is a silhouette of someone. I get even closer to it and see that it's a silhouette of my mom, at which point I start running straight to it. But suddenly I see it starts to crumble and break like glass before it uncovers something else, a silhouette of a sylveon covered in black and I quickly go into my fighting stance, somehow it feels natural to me.

It then turns to me and I see that they don't have any face, or is it covered in black too? what I know is that this is not looking normal or good. Suddenly I see 2 black lines coming from the black sylveon and I manage to barely duck from it. As I look back at them I see that it's charging at me and I immediately turn my back and start running from them.

As I keep running I suddenly hit some sort of invisible wall, I don't even know if it's a wall or something but what I know is that I'm completely cornered. I can see the black sylveon slowly approaching me and then it stops a few meters and stares at me for a few seconds before they turn back and walks away from me, what is this all about? I then suddenly hear someone calling out my name before everything suddenly went all white and I woke on the bed with a cold sweat.

'What the hell was that? is that just a dream? but it feels too real,' I thought to myself as I look at my paws to make sure that I'm really in reality now.

"Finally, why is it soo hard to wake you up, It's almost 8 AM you know," Joy says as he's standing next to the bed. I then immediately get close and start hugging him.

"Woah Woah hey calm down, are you still sad about last night?" He asks me.

Last night? Oh right, I forgot that my mom told me that I have to stay in here for a while until my house gets any repairs, and I also remember that I'm gonna have to live on my own... damn that thought still makes me feel sad.

"Well, not really. It was something else" I reply to his question.

"Something else? you wanna talk about it?" He asks again which I reply with a nod.

*A few minutes later*

"Hmm, it sounds like your other personalities manifesting themselves in your dream," Joy says.

"My other personalities? is that even possible?" I ask him.

"Quite a lot, mostly on people with cases of DID"

"DID?" I ask and tilt my head a little bit subconsciously.

"Dissociative Identity Disorder, essentially someone that has 2 personalities inside them. As for your case, I think that is because we are now pokemon we also start to have our different personalities too, one as a human and the other as, well, pokemon" Joy says as he sounds like some sort of professional.

"Wait so you think that we all slowly gonna act like an animal?"

"Quite possibly, that is just my theory, we both just get turned 2 days ago so I don't wanna quickly assume that will be the case"

"Are you like a doctor or something?" I ask Joy.

"Well not yet, I'm still at university, well I used to be before all of this happened. I took Psychology there" He answers.

"So your dad become a physical doctor while you're going for a mental doctor"

"In that sense yeah"

"What about your mom? I haven't seen her" I ask him.

"Well, she is currently in Java working as an elementary teacher," He replies.

"Man your family seems to be a hard-working one," I say with admiration tone.

"Thanks for that. Now come on, breakfast ready," Joy says as he starts walking out of the room and I immediately follow him.

I haven't seen the interior of his house before so he's the one taking the lead. As for the house itself, it's huge and bigger than mine, I also see that it has a second floor. We then enter the dining room that is located not far away from the room where I was being taken care of. As I enter I can smell something very delicious and sweet coming out from the table, without thinking I suddenly try to jump into the table before Joy catches me with his ribbons and bring me next to his face.

"Now hear me Agung. From what you told me about your dream before, it seems like you're starting to show signs of your animalistic instinct, yesterday your parents say that when you went out to search for the one who attacked your brother you just suddenly pass them without you even noticing. If I would suddenly feel myself act more like an animal I would try to maintain my old self. Now try to act like how you are and maintain it," He says as he repeatedly slaps me with his ribbons.

"Ow, Ow, I get it, I get it..." I say as I keep trying to make him stop his slapping "...I'm sorry okay, it's just too tempting"

"That makes it even worse! It means you can easily fall to it!" He then says and slaps me harder with his ribbons which in turn makes me scream.

After all of that and after finishing the breakfast that Joy's father probably made, I start walking to a TV located in the living room and turn it on. Everything is still news about whether this thing is an act of god or not, I also see news that talks about how Hungary, a country situated in the Balkans region, is now in complete chaos and riot. I don't wanna watch too long about that and quickly change the channel back to local news. This one takes my interest, it's news about an incident related to the people that had become pokemon.

"Yesterday at 02:27 PM in East Jakarta, A cafe and a few houses near it burned down because of supposedly "Fire type" pokemon that entered the cafe and several people has been brought into the hospital, including the pokemon that causes it. Up until this point, we are not sure if this is an accident or a deliberate attack by them but for certain this will cause people to start to get worried about them"

I then change the channel to another news that also talked about another incident.

"Even though the activity of people around this area is starting to get back to normal. This area was affected by 2 pokemon of unknown type, as you can see on the ground there's still a big crack that was caused by it, and a few people had been sent to the local hospital"

'This is bad, really bad...' I thought to myself with a cold sweat, 'If people start to see more pokemon cause such incidents, they will start to think of us as a threat'

I'm too occupied by my thoughts that I didn't notice that Joy slowly wrapped his ribbon around my tail. When I know about it that makes me jump a little bit.

"Hmm, Feeling of worry, fear, scared, and sad," He says as I see him write those words on his paper.

"Woah, hey are you diagnosing me?!" I ask him.

"Hey I have to, my dad put his hope in me, and also I can try to implement what I've learned from the university"

"And you're not worried about the news?"

"I do worry about it. People can get accused of something they didn't do because the one who does bad things is the same pokemon as the one who doesn't, so my father and I made this" Joy says before he throws something at me which I catch with my paws.

It's a lanyard with an ID card at the end of it and on that ID card there's my name, an address to the house, and a phone number that I never see before. I don't know if it's a phone number for Joy or his father.

"Use those whenever you are going out so people don't mistake you for someone else"

"Well this is something, but that does not mean people will stop mistrusting us"

"True, but that is what we can only do for now. Maybe the government will make a new regulation regarding pokemon but that will take time. For now, get a hold of that thing"

So, this is the new me now. My new identity is a sylveon, a pokemon. That still doesn't sound right to me. I look like an animal but I still hold a norm and think like a human, I hope I won't get into any identity crisis in the future. I look at my ID card for a while before I decide to wear them immediately. It's a little bit hard to do because of my ears that are on the way, but in the end, I can wear them around my neck. It makes me feel like I'm wearing a collar.

"So, how do I look?" I ask Joy before I see him suddenly cover his mouth and shake a little bit

"Hey, are you okay?" I ask him once more.

"Y-yeah, It's just... you look like a dog wearing a collar now" He says before finally laughing.

"Wha- Dude this is your idea, why did you have to laugh at it!"

"I'm very sorry but it's just too funny"

"Arghh come here Joy!" I say as I immediately jump out of the sofa I was sitting on and try to catch him.

After a few chases around the house, we take a break in the living room to catch our breath, It was fun but very tiring. This body still makes me hard to move around, I keep getting tired even by just running a few meters.

"Hey Joy, where's your father?" I ask him, I haven't seen him around the house since this morning.

"Oh him? He got a call from the local hospital for helping them research pokemon" He replies.

"Aren't your dad just a private doctor who does his practice alone?"

"Yeah, he is. But it seems like every doctor gets called out to finding more about us. Even I heard my professor from my university get a call too"

"I see, so what are we going to do now?"

"Well usually for me I suppose to go enter a class but since some professor gets turned to. The whole university pause all of their teachings" Joy says before getting up from the floor.

"Oh right, I forgot about my school too. There's a lot of things that happened yesterday that I forgot about other stuff" I say back to him.

"Wait you still in school? I thought you already taking university"

"Nah I'm still in high school"

"Wait that means you are younger than me," Joy says with a surprised tone.

"Wait how old are you?" I ask back.

"20" He replies.

"What?! You are 5 years older than me, sorry for not respecting you before," I say as I quickly get up and lower my head to him. In my place, people always respect the elder.

"No no, it's ok, I don't really like being respected too much by others, it makes me feel weird," He says to my bowing.

"I see" I then slowly lift my head back "So what are we gonna do now?"

"You may haven't noticed yet but I'm a little bit of a nerd when comes to pokemon related stuff"

"Is that why you seem to be very calm about all of this transformation thing?"

"Well... Not really, I don't really wanna talk about it"

"Well if you don't wanna talk about it that's ok, I won't push you to give me the answer. So, you said you are a nerd about pokemon stuff, what do you want to do then?"

"For that one, follow me," He says before turning his body around and starting to walk which in turn makes me follow behind him.

We both walk through the dining table where we had breakfast before and he then opens the door that leads to the backyard of his house. He tells me to go out first which kind of confuses me but I go out anyway before he then closes the door. I walk to the middle of the backyard before turning around to see Joy also stop walking a few meters away from me.

"Soo, what are we going to do?" I ask Joy.

"Well, you see, I wanna try out something with you and that is learning how to use moves" He replies which kinda triggers some sort of PTSD inside me.

"Wait wait hold on. Are you saying that we are going to"

"Have a pokemon fight? Exactly"
