It was not going to be a "happy new year" for Buzzy. He'd just heard word that Cranium Command, which had been operating on a seasonal basis, would no longer be. That did not mean Wonders of Life would go back to regular operation.

It was shutting down.

Forever.

So Buzzy was just left counting down the days until January 1st, New Year's Day, which would be the last day of operation ever for the Wonders of Life Pavilion.

His home.

As it was Christmas, everyone tried to keep in good spirits. Well. Right Brain was mostly responsible for this. Left Brain kept trying to put a dampener on everything and Adrenal Gland just kept freaking out.

Buzzy stayed quiet. He didn't get involved in everyone else's affairs.

On Christmas Eve night, he hopped down from his usual perch and paced the floor. He just kept pacing - if he didn't, he was scared he'd lose his hydraulic fluid.

'What's the matter, Buzzy?' a voice asked.

The voice of General Knowledge.

Buzzy turned around and sure enough, General Knowledge was standing there on the stage in his 2D form, looking like a cardboard standee.

'N-nothing, General Knowledge,' said Buzzy.

'Don't you "nothing" me,' said General Knowledge, 'I'm not stupid.'

'I know you're not -'

'My name is literally General Knowledge.'

'It is.' Buzzy nodded.

'I know something's on your mind,' said General Knowledge.

Buzzy nodded and sighed. 'It's just the Wonders of Life Pavilion is shutting down.'

'You're wondering what comes next,' said General Knowledge with a slight nod. 'Now I don't know what will come after this. But while this is still going on for the next week, enjoy it. After that, who knows what will happen. But take each day as it comes.'

'It's scary,' said Buzzy.

'I won't lie, Buzzy, it is scary,' General Knowledge agreed. 'It's the unknown. People are always scared of the unknown.'

'I'm not a person,' said Buzzy.

'You are a person,' said General Knowledge. 'You're a living sentient being, just like me. You're just not a human. More… humanoid.'

'Are you scared?' asked Buzzy.

'Are you kidding? Of course I am!' said General Knowledge. 'It's natural to fear the unknown.'

'How do I not be afraid?' asked Buzzy.

'Enjoy the time you have left,' said General Knowledge. 'You sit in front of everyone and enjoy it. Because it's not going to happen again.'

Buzzy nodded, but he was still concerned about his future.

'And you should probably go to sleep now too. If you want Santa to come.'

'Santa's not real, General.'

'He is. Because if he wasn't, who else would that be at the America Pavilion,' General Knowledge argued. 'A man in a Santa costume?'

Buzzy made no comment. If General Knowledge wanted to believe in Santa, he wasn't going to argue.

'I'll go to sleep now,' said Buzzy.

'Good night, Buzzy,' General Knowledge said and walked away.

Buzzy lay down on the floor. Eyes wide open. Still worrying. And unable to sleep.
