As I poked at the fire with a stick Tom looked over at me, watching as I stared up at the stars in the night sky. "So how do you like Perim?" Tom asked and I grinned at him, dropping my branch in the fire before I replied.

"It's awesome, Tom. I mean I thought the card game was amazing until I received that code. No matter how many times I port to Chaotic and Perim I still won't get over how cool this is. I mean I've met Intress, Maxxor, Najarin, Chaor…" As I named all of the creatures I'd gotten scans of Tom grinned back at me chuckling when I blinked feeling my cheeks burn. "Sorry, when you get me talking about Chaotic I can't seem to stop." I apologized but Tom nodded, apparently not caring about how much I was talking.

"You should have seen me in my first Drone battle. I mean I was the same thinking the card game was cool until I got to fight Takinom as Maxxor." As Tom started to talk I giggled, enjoying how animated he was as he told me the story of his first battle in Chaotic.

I was so invested in the story that I didn't notice that Kaz, Peyton, and Sarah were watching me from a few feet away. The night wore on, and my other friends retired to their sleeping bags but despite how tired I was I couldn't fall asleep so I stayed up watching the stars with Tom sitting beside me.

"Hey since we're both up how about a little game?" Tom asked and I raised an eyebrow shifting closer to the campfire to warm my hands. "The first one to fall asleep has to get a scan of the other player's choice," Tom suggested and I nodded, getting a chuckle from Tom. "You haven't even seen as much of Perim as I have, Ashley. You sure you're up to it?"

"Bring it on, Tom. I can handle anything Perim, or you throw at me. But that's only if I actually lose." I answered with a smirk on my lips and Tom smiled, turning his attention back to the campfire when I did.

"Sure you say that now, Ashley but I bet you'll be asleep in like ten minutes," Tom replied and I snorted at him, settling back to watch the stars. "Okay on the count of one, two, three." He said, keeping his voice low so he didn't wake his friends and I smirked at him already wide awake. At least I thought so at first until an hour later I shifted my back, yawning and Tom blinked at me.

"Hey if you start doing that you'll start me off," Tom warned, unable to prevent a yawn from escaping before he rolled his eyes at me. "That's not fair you know."

"No one said anything about cheap tricks," I muttered, rubbing at my eyes which Tom smiled at, already thinking about what he wanted to be scanned. As the night wore on I began to feel drowsy fighting the urge to close my eyes unaware that at my side Tom was having the exact same problem, stifling a yawn with his palm before he blinked awake.

I shook myself, pinching the bridge of my nose in an effort to wake myself up or at least enough that I'd fall asleep last. It didn't help and I found myself blinking repeatedly as I shifted around on the ground, trying to find a comfortable spot to sit. The night passed and as the sun started to rise I found myself inches from Tom who rubbed at his eyes not noticing that my head keep drooping towards his shoulder but when he felt a weight on his shoulder he turned his head slightly, enough to see that I was using him as a makeshift pillow.

"Ashley, you awake?" He whispered, nudging me slightly with his fingers but when I just sighed making no attempt to raise my head he grinned to himself. "Guess I win then." He mumbled, yawning before he rested his head on mine his eyes finally closing.

"Man camping out was the best plan ever," Peyton said once he, Kaz, and Sarah emerged from their sleeping bags a few hours after sunrise. After Peyton noticed that his friends were still sitting in front of the campfire Peyton grinned, nudging Sarah and Kaz who glanced over in time to find Ashley with her head now resting against Tom's both Chaotic players fast asleep.

Sarah climbed to her feet, followed by Kaz and Peyton who tiptoed towards the pair. Even when Sarah prodded them neither player stirred and she shrugged her arms crossed as she eyed them.

"So much for Ashley saying that Tom doesn't like her as anything but a friend." Sarah pointed out, amused as Peyton and Kaz grabbed some leaves dropping on their friends' heads in an effort to wake them. This would explain why, as I finally cracked open my eyes, leaves fell off the top of my head.

"Ugh….what time is it?" I mumbled, rubbing at my eyes with a yawn only to freeze as I found that I was resting my head extremely close to Tom who surprisingly hadn't even stirred yet. As carefully as I could I lifted my head hoping he wouldn't notice though as I moved a few inches to my left Tom finally opened his eyes trying to figure out where he was for several seconds.

"Oh hey, Ashley. Guess I won last night huh?" Tom muttered, yawning as he stretched his arms above his head and I quickly nodded a faint smile on my face that I hoped didn't include a red face as I climbed to my feet. When something landed on Tom's lap he picked up the leaf staring at it for several seconds as I quickly brushed the remaining leaves off of my head. "Why do I have leaves on me?" He asked and I shrugged, kneeling before I helped Tom get the last of the leaves I just knew someone had dropped on him out of his black hair.

"Won what?" Kaz asked and I explained about our bet, hoping that no one would mention to Tom that we'd been caught using the other as a pillow at some point during either the night or very early morning.
