By the next morning, it was time to get ready for the tournament, everyone was ready to end this once and for all against Team Toguro's.
Nezuko was already dressed in a shady red long sleeves shirt "Nike" written on the front, black shorts, white socks, and red/white shoes. Hiei was already dressed standing outside of the door waiting for Nezuko as she leaves out of the room already ready.
"You look...lovely." Hiei complimented as Nezuko made a slight noise.
They both went over to Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Kurama that were waiting for them as they were ready to head down to the stadium. The girls were going to be watching them fight and pray that they will all make it back to the human world safely when this tournament ends.
The match between Karasu and Kurama begins. Karasu starts by saying that Kurama has no chance to win this fight. Kurama has a flashback of Karasu in the previous round when Karasu touched his opponents and they were blown up. He concludes that Karasu has to send his energy into his opponents by touching them, to blow them up. It returns to the present as Kurama begins his first attack, by using a technique meant for stalling, so he can have more time to become Yoko Kurama, a technique called Petals and Thorns. Kurama is surprised to see that Karasu boldly walks right into the whirlwind of petals, and then blows all of them up. Then Karasu tells Kurama of his power, and how he has no chance of winning. Karasu jumps and disappears, and tries to touch Kurama.
After chasing him for a while, Kurama tries to attack the Rose Whip, but Karasu makes it explode as well. Then the chase continues, and Karasu almost gets Kurama. Shortly after, an invisible force explodes on Kurama's arm. Karasu explains that he was toying with Kurama earlier and that he can still transfer his energy without touching his opponent. Karasu then proceeds to blow a chunk out of Kurama's leg. Karasu continues to talk, almost taunting Kurama. Then Karasu creates a bomb and throws it at Kurama, which causes a huge explosion. As Karasu lands, he notices a rose is in his hand and pulls it out. The smoke clears and shows that Kurama has finally transformed into Yoko Kurama. Some talk goes around about who he is, and his legend. Karasu creates two strange-looking bombs and sends them to Yoko.
Yoko takes two roses and throws them at the bombs, which then explode. Then Karasu creates bat-like bombs, which he calls Trace Eye bombs, and sends them to Yoko. Yoko dodges them for a while. Yoko eventually becomes surrounded by the Trace Eye bombs and then uses his demon energy to destroy them. After the smoke from the bombs exploding clears, everyone sees many plants are surrounding Yoko. Yoko explains that they are called Ojiki plants, and they are very sensitive to moving targets. The plants react to Karasu, and Yoko says that Karasu must have gotten their attention from all of his trembling. The Ojiki plants start to attack Karasu, while Karasu tries to dodge them. Karasu creates a grenade and throws it at one of the Ojiki plants, which goes up in flames. Another one suddenly appears. Karasu looks stunned, as the plant comes rushing towards him.
Right after Kurama's match had ended, the fighter who decided to jump in the ring was a woman on team Toguro's team.
A female demon standing at a 5'3 with long black hair, violet eyes and black on the side, lips shade the red-rose, light skin tone, her red horns coming through her head, her clothes were a little exposing for showing so much skin. Black leathered clothing straps around her arms, her top and bottom were blacks along with her high heel shoes for slightly showing her body for the boys to mouth water.
"My name is Hayami. I'll be taking any of you who will enter the ring will pay for their misery." She darkly smirked.
"That lady sure doesn't look very friendly," Kuwabara said.
"Mmm," Nezuko said.
Yusuke looks down at Nezuko, "You think you can take her?"
Nezuko looked over and gave him a short nod, she jumps into the ring and took a couple of steps standing a few feet away from her opponent. The two stares at each other seeing Hayami formed a mischievous grin on her face as she stared at Nezuko with a thirst of blood inching through her veins.
"Your a sweet little girl for volunteering in the ring." She said grinning. "I was hoping to take on one of the boys. I most defiantly want to take on the dragon boy who seemed to be quite tasteful to enjoy." She was purring as Nezuko didn't care any less, but she didn't want her to talk about Hiei like that. He only loved her as he said and he wasn't lying because he wanted her all to himself.
As the announcer told them to fight, Nezuko was ready to take on this woman with no problem at all. Hayami, however, had a plan up in her sleeve as she summoned a ball that jingles that bounced onto the concrete as she formed another one.
"I want to test these out on you since I barely fought any good opponents." She grinned.
Yusuke and the others were concerned about what she was doing with the balls in her hands. Were they playing some kind of sport? As Hayami threw the ball hard it was levitating in the air around as Nezuko took a couple of steps away from it as she saw that it was following her. She ran around trying to avoid the ball, but it wouldn't stop following her, so she did a backflip to allow the ball to hit one of the demons in the crowd. One demon saw the ball heading its way as it completely hit his face making him go headless. The crowd was beyond shocked as the ball levitated itself back to Hayami.
"This is going to be fun. I suppose I'll have to bounce these around to instantly kill you faster~" She insanely laughed.
Suddenly, Hayami held her arm out as she uses her nails-like claws to pierce through her arm to form some strong powder surrounded the ring. It wasn't even a bad stench but the smell was slightly strong that contains a perfume type that she used. Nezuko was looking around as she heard bouncing coming from her direction as she heard something flying towards her and she knew that it was the balls as she quickly tries to avoid them from aiming directly towards her instead of the crowd. But she was worried that something was going to happen to her friends that were watching the match and they couldn't tell what was going on.
"These balls that she's throwing are likely scattering all over the place," Hiei said.
"Indeed. I'm not sure if Nezuko could do this. It's very difficult for her to do this." Kurama said.
"If she can't stop her throwing at them. How else will she defeat her?" Yusuke asked.
"Naturally, I was thinking of the same thing if she tries to get close. But Hayami seems to try to get her away from her reach." Kurama explained to the team leader as Kuwabara gritted his teeth together.
"Can't she just kick them?" Kuwabara asked.
"She's can't and if she does. You know what happened in the last battle when she faced Risho." Kurama pointed out as he remembered Nezuko trying to stop Risho by doing a kick, but she wasn't quite strong back then after losing her leg. "The balls are very dangerous and not even we can stop them. But we must keep a close eye if any of them come out and we must not touch them."
"You can't hide from me! I can see you!" Said Hayami. She threw a ball directly straight ahead to miss Nezuko, but when the ball kept going it was coming out of the thick powder that seemed to be clearing up allowing everyone to see what was happening down there. Kuwabara was standing there when he saw the ball heading straight towards him that he froze not thinking of any other way to dodge it completely.
"Kuwabara!" Yusuke shouted.?
Before he could even reach an inch towards his face, Nezuko appears just in time to use her foot to stop it from hitting his face. She deflected the ball as she landed back on the arena hearing Hayami's dark laughter behind her. As Nezuko looked over to see that Kuwabara was all right she was relieved.
"Thanks. I could've been killed." Kuwabara sighed in relief as she visions her brother as she stared him straight in the eye.
"Hm? What is it?" Kuwabara asked walking a little close to her as she reached her arm out to give him a head pat making him blush a little.
Yusuke looks behind Nezuko shouting, "Hey! I hate to break this up. But the black lady is ready for more!" Nezuko stops patting Kuwabara's head as her attention went back to Hayami as she looked back to see her summoning more balls.
She stood up to guard in front of her friends as Hayami started throwing them towards her one by one. Nezuko starts kicking them away from that her teammates were slightly amazed that she was able to drive them away from them.
"Look at her. She's kicking them away." Yusuke pointed out.
"Yes. I didn't know how this will go, but it seems as though she's got this." Kurama said.
As she kicked the last ball harder causing Hayami to catch it in her hands and sending her a little far back. She was puzzled.
"You think you figure out a way to stop them from hitting you and your worthless teammates?" She snarled as Nezuko to see that the girl's veins were popping through and her eyes were growing dark than usual. "How insolent!" Hayami wasn't going to let this one get away to pledge her victory.
As Hayami drop the ball, she kicked it towards Nezuko as the demon girl kicked back, and they did it over and over again as the intensity level was getting to them. Nezuko was not missing each time she kicked it back only to make Hayami more that she wasn't stopping her.
"This is like an intense soccer match. I already know if I play with her, she'll defeat me instantly." Yusuke says, as her team was shocked just by watching her everything time she prevented the ball to draw near her teammates.
Hayami growled, "You damn brat!" She revealed her fangs as Nezuko glares back at her intensely growling.
"How is she doing that? I mean, Nezuko is only..." Kuwabara was lost with words as he looked over at Kurama and the same as Yusuke.
"Kurama? Did you give her something to get her to be this strong?" Yusuke asked.
"No. I did not give her anything to make her this strong." Kurama said as he looked over at Yusuke, "The only thing that I did to help her was when she fought Risho on her own. I gave her one of my plants to heal her faster, and that was all I did. However, she didn't need an amount of blood to make her give this strong." He paused as the ball heading towards Nezuko stopped in her tracks as she held it back as her veins were popping up more around her leg. "This is what Nezuko is doing by rapidly growing stronger."
Nezuko growls as she did a strong kick to hit it back towards Hayami causing the demon to go shocked that she couldn't stop that ball from going so fast. It passed her as it hit the other side of the third-row seats where the crowd of demons stood.
"All right! She did it!" Yusuke cheered.
Nezuko was proud of what she did, but Hayami was not. She glared at the demon feeling her blood veins pumping as she had another plan to end this match for good this time.
"You won't win! I'm just getting started." Hayami claimed. Hayami uses her nail-like claws on her arm to form some strong powder surrounded the ring. The powder seemed to be getting thicker as it was swirling around the ring as Nezuko shield herself until she felt something wrapped around her arm to yank her forward then three more wraps around her wrist and ankles. It felt like something sharp piercing through her skin as she winced being pulled up forward as the powder suddenly clears away as everyone even her teammates looked to see Nezuko was gone and the only one standing was Hayami.
"Where's Nezuko?" Kuwabara asked.
"That's what I'm concerned about," Yusuke said.
Hiei was worried when he saw blood falling onto the arena, he looked up gasping as his team looked up to see Nezuko hanging in the air trickling with blood around her legs, arms, and forehead. She looked shocked and as she was tied above with the thread that Hayami used for her technique.
"Nezuko!" Yusuke shouted.
"Don't be so worried about your fellow teammate. She's hanging around just fine." Said Hayami as she teased wearing a dark smirk across her face.
"She's losing so much blood!" Kurama says worriedly.
"Her blood will drain while she's hanging like this and there is nothing else she can do," Hayami says staring at the four teammates as Nezuko's eyes fallen over to her team as she struggled to reach out her hand screamed under her muzzle. Hayami looks up at her dead in the eye saying, "You're too noisy. Shut up!" She tightened the thread around Nezuko's body making more blood spill out of her as she screamed and her team was horrified to see this.
Nezuko stopped wincing in as her eyes shut closely as Hayami controlled the thread to lower her body. She stared at her with a concerned expression.
"She passed out?" She asked.
"What else do you think?! You drained her blood causing her to blackout!" Yusuke shouted. He was feeling outraged by watching Nezuko getting torn to pieces by this wicked lady.
"A strange demon-like her is not fit under these conditions. Her strength and power are remarkable." Hayami says in amazement as she wore a dark expression standing in front of Nezuko approaching her. "But it's too bad that your teammate will be dying when I rip off her head."
"Don't you dare lay another finger on her!" Yusuke demanded.
"Sayanora..." Hayami says as she slowly reached up her hands preparing to remove Nezuko's head from her body."...Nezuko."
While Nezuko remained unconscious due to the amount of blood being lost from her. She was still in agonizing pain running through her as she didn't know that death was right around the corner.
"Nezuko! Wake up!" Tanjiro shouted.
Her brother stood in front of her holding her face, "Please! You have to wake up and keep fighting."
There was no response coming from her as Tanjiro tries to hold back the tears of his helpless sister. She was in danger and was ready to be dead in less than a minute.
"...You have to keep fighting! If you don't win, you'll die as well as your friends!" He remarked.
Suddenly, Nezuko's eyes burst open that startled Hayami for a second as she concentrated her power to take control. The heated sensation of Nezuko's aura was increasing along with the thread of blood dripping as she growls when her muzzle slipped out of her mouth.
"Blood demon art..." Nezuko chanted as Hiei who was listening was in awe to hear her voice again. "EXPLODING BLOOD!"
As Nezuko used her blood demon art against Hayami to send out flames to burst around them and the arena. Everyone didn't know what was happening but was in shock that Nezuko was using fire!
"Fire?!" Yusuke exclaimed.
"I didn't know she can do that!" Kuwabara says in disbelief.
Hayami stood back as the flames were rising around her, but then out of nowhere Nezuko was charging straight at her and was holding a weapon in her hands. This took quite a turn as Hayami leaps backward to avoid getting close to Nezuko as she watches the girl fight her way to get near her. The sense of fear was rising in Hayami that she had to use her thread technique to put a stop to her again. Not this time. Nezuko seemed to be using a sword that she had taken with her to borrow for this match and she was chasing down Hayami while growling intensely. The fire seems to be disappearing a little to allow others to see what was happening in the ring, her fellow teammates were amazed that Nezuko was using a weapon to try to kill her opponent. As Nezuko was drawing in closer she remembered how her brother used his sword to spawn the water dragon that transformed into fire. She decided to do it, but as she clenched the blade to concentrate to use the same technique as her brother only to summon the dragon of the color rose pink to trap Hayami. The spark of a lifetime as Hayami couldn't do anything else to stop her, Nezuko took a deep dive to swing her blade aiming for her neck to cut it deeply as she cut Hayami's head that her leftover corpse burst into flames. Nezuko stops at a midpoint where she defeated Hayami instantly as she held the sword tightly to see that the demon woman's head lying there with a horrified expression that was all left from her.
"AND THE WINNER IS NEZUKO!" The announcer said.
Nezuko's expression returns to normal as she walked off the ring to return to her teammates that were completely shocked at what she just did in the middle of the fight.
"You did awesomely! I didn't know that you have fire in your blood." Yusuke said.
"That was really great!" Kuwabara said with a wide grin on his face.
Nezuko smiled at them as Hiei approached over to her faintly smiling as he looked down to see that the weapon she was holding was his sword. How did she get that?
'Nezuko must have brought it with her in case something like this or anything else could happen.' Hiei thought.
"Nezuko..." He called her name out as she made some noises which he furrowed his eyebrows staring at her confused.
'I could have sworn that she talked while she was fighting.' Hiei deeply thought.
"You might want to put that muzzle back on," Kurama said.
Hiei nodded as he stared at the girl that smiled at him. He smiled back as he places the muzzle back on her face.
"Good fight. I guess I may be outmatched to you." Hiei lowly said. Nezuko reaches up to give him a head pat before returning his sword to him.
"The next fighters are...Bui vs Hiei!" Koto announced.
Hiei let out a huff as he narrowed over to see that Bui was already entering the ring. He stares at Bui wearing a large and extremely heavy, rock-based armor daily. The armor consists of dark green jagged guards for his arms, chest, and shoulders, gray plates covering his abdomen, and a vaguely samurai-style metal helmet that conceals his face.
Hiei called over his team leader's name, "Yusuke." He heard the fire demon's voice as his eyes glanced over at him and formed a grimace on his face. "I planned on taking the thug with the sunglasses for myself, but after what he did to Genkai, I believe the vengeance belongs to you.
"Thank you," Yusuke says in a soft tone.
As Hiei had his hands shoved into his pockets he glanced over at Nezuko for a second and he smirked as he vanished as he appeared in the ring approaching where Bui was standing as he stood a few meters away from him.
Hiei P.O.V.
"Measuring at a four foot ten without his hair, Hiei. At nine feet, Bui!" The fish girl demon announced.
I stood standing a few feet away from where Bui was standing as he summoned his large ax weapon.
I grunted, "Hn, not a bad weapon you got there, Bui." A smirk formed on my lips, "But with all due respect, I must say I prefer my own." I told him as I grasp my cloak to remove it off my body revealing my arm that had tight bandages wrapped around my right arm when I used the dragon from the first match. It had to be tightened, so the darkness of the dragon will not slip out unknowingly.
Just as the ring fish lady told us to begin, Bui made his first move to charge at me while holding onto his ax. I remained cautious and still calm that once he made his way to strike me down boosting in the air to fallen back onto the ring, I instantly vanished hearing his hard breathing behind his helmet.
"Your aim is as broad as your ax." I bitterly said. "Could you at least try to hit me next time?"
This was going to be a boring run-around match, but it seems Bui had other surprises for me. He lifted the rectangular size of the cement ring attached to his ax and threw it towards me. I instantly dodged it as many more were heading towards me, but not internally, they were heading towards the crowd of demons as well. I had just about enough of him doing the same thing over and over, so I decided to use my "Fist of The Mortal Flame" to punch through each of them. The more I directly hit them, the closer I was to get to Bui. When I was fully close to him, he drew in his ax and I aimed my fist; we connected feeling a spark sensation coming from our energy that I was able to break the ax and fallen back a few feet as did Bui. Ironically, I find it very pleasing to see more of what Bui could do. I stood there furrowing my eyebrows at him seeing him make another ax that was a waste of his energy beneath the armor.
"At least you are consistent, constantly foolish if you believe this will have any more impact than the last," I told him in a bitter tone as he swung the ax towards me coming for me at full speed. My eyes narrow at the weapon heading over to me, as I raised my arm holding out my hand to catch it with no issue and vaporize it.
"I warned you that was a foolish maneuver..." I told him with a stoic expression. "But you refused to listen, much to your disadvantage, and to my boredom." My tone was very assertive and bold to criticize his motivations and failed attempts he tested on me. More like teasing. "And that is not forgivable."
My eyes narrowed at him waiting for something to happen, but unexpectedly I saw his eyes turning red underneath his helmet. I quirk my eyebrows intrigued to know what he'll do or perhaps if he'll say anything in the middle of this fight.
"Sorry to bore you. I'll remove my armor." Bui said.
If I am not the only one who just heard what he said. Then they must have heard him correctly. Removing his armor in the middle of the fight? Interesting.
Bui then said, "You should know two things, Hiei the swordsman. I was saving this for someone else..."He was unclicking his wrist armor part while talking to me as he held it up in the air. "...and this is the highest compliments I give."
I smirked, "I am honored. Really, I am. But are you sure you're strong enough to take a direct hit from me without any armor?"
"I'll handle it," Bui reassured tossing the armor wrist behind like it weighed light as a feather, but it was crushed into the ground.
I wasn't going to rush things anyway, he was going to be taking his time removing the armor while I wait. My eyes shifted over to Nezuko, my thoughts after getting myself involved to fight in this tournament are all about her. I will unleash the dragon in my control, I may have succeeded, but there is still more training that needs to be done. When Bui was done removing the armor, I could see his face after removing the helmet off of him.
"Most fighters wear armor to protect themselves from their opponent. But I am the opposite." He said through his armor mask as I didn't care any less about the armor more of his revealing side. When removed the mask from covering his mouth, I could no longer hear his mufflings but his clear and confident-bold tone of his. "I actually wear this armor to protect my opponent from myself." He clenched his fist as the green aura began to rise in his body. "You see, my powers are so great I can't control them on my own."
I only grunted with a small grin watching Bui's aura continue to rise more as I stood my ground. He began to float in the air clenching his fists with his arms spread out glancing down at me with an amused grin on his face.
"I call this Battle Aura, I'd like to see you try and stop it." He said.
"And so would I, but I doubt I would have to try!" I replied in a cocky tone.
My aura rises as I jumped up to kick Bui, but he has fallen back to charge at me. But I used my fire against him, but he broke through it and used another attack which was a flying orb. The glowing orb chased me around, but I was smarter than to lead it to aim at me. I came back around where Bui was and it hit him instead of sending him down in the ring crashing down creating a crater. I landed narrowing my eyes wondering if this guy was even dead for drawing out a lame target, but to my utter astonishment...he was still standing.
"I told you you'd have to try and top me, Hiei. Maybe now you'll begin to take me more seriously and show me the respect I deserve." He said for accusing me of my lack of attempts I was trying to pull on this guy. "My attacks are designed to be only as strong as necessary to take out my opponent. As you can see, that's not even enough to put a dent in me. Take that any way you like.
A malicious smirk formed on my lips, "So, it takes a lot more than that to bang you up? Here comes a lot more!" I removed the strap off my knucks that were on the bandages I wrapped around my arm as I began to remove them off narrowing my eyes directly at him. The dragon was growing impatient as the darkness was rising beneath my skin and blood pumping through my veins. My energy of the darkness was getting stronger as the dark aura sparked right from under me.
"Once your own doom has been unraveled, I assure you there's no turning back," I started my words to Bui as a warning to the last person I fought to use the dragon against them only to succeed. Now, it was time for me to awaken myself and use the dragon once again to win this match.
Using his demon energy, Bui tries to overpower Hiei, but this proves to be futile. Hiei unleashes the Dragon of the Darkness flame which Bui keeps at bay until he deflects it back at his adversary. As the crowd applauds him for a successful fight, Bui believes himself to have won, bursting into screams of joy. He is immediately proven wrong by Hiei's sudden reappearance, clad in the fire. Hiei reveals that the dark flame can be absorbed to drastically increase one's power. Bui immediately lashes out at Hiei, only to be overpowered in both speed and strength. Bui is easily defeated afterward, as Hiei pummels him into the stands. Incapacitated after the fight, Bui asks Hiei to kill him, since he has come to realize that no matter how much stronger he gets, Toguro will always be stronger than him regardless of his progress, ruining his chances of ever getting back at the Younger Toguro for defeating him many years ago. Hiei refuses to kill him, stating that no one orders him around. In the process, the fight brings Team Urameshi their first win against Team Toguro.
Nezuko's eyes were glistening recalling the details she had witnessed through the whole battle that amazed the girl. Hiei didn't say a word only to pat her on her head, but Nezuko saw how tired Hiei looked after the fight.
"Really awesome, Hiei." Yusuke complimented.
"Yeah, awesome. Uh, why don't you go about twenty yards that way and fight the rest of them." Kuwabara nervously said.
"That's against the rules now, you cretin. Besides, my attack expired." Hiei said shakingly as they stared at him with a concerned look in their eyes over.
What did he mean by "Expired"?
"I don't know if your brains can imagine it, but this attack drained a good deal of my energy." Hiei lets out a small yawn.
"I'll require some hibernation to get it back. Think you can manage to find a safe place for my body where it won't get stepped on?" He asked in a tiresome tone.
"Did you say hibernate?" Yusuke asked a little lost.
"Fancy word for being lazy," Kuwabara said.
Hiei points his finger and blinks tiredly towards them, "Listen to me as closely as you can, you three. I'm trusting you against my better instincts because I have no other choice. Take care of the Toguro brothers. If I wake up and we've lost, I swear I'll kill you all!" And with that, Hiei passed out as Nezuko let out a little giggle of the tired demon who needed his rest.
Later the two teams were taking a break to recover their wounds to prepare for the next battle, Hiei was taken to the locker room to get plenty of rest recovering his energy after his fight.
"Okay, this is dumb! He's no real substitute, and I'm getting the short end of the pole!" Kuwabara said absurdly, "If Genkai were here I'd fight Sakyo! I say Koenma fights the brother or I pull Genkai out of bed!" He spat with his arms folded over his chest.
"Give it a break, will you, Kuwabara!" Yusuke whined. "She's not gonna come and fight today, you're the only one left."
A low growl escape from Kuwabara when they heard the door opening to reveal the girls as Shizuru approached her brother.
"Alright, baby bro. And what are you going to do when you fight this Togoru freak, huh?" Shizuru asked in a strict tone as she grabbed the edge of his collar giving him a stoic expression making him hesitate a little.
"Back off sis. Not right now, okay?" Kuwabara said in an audible tone facing away fake smiling and sweating a little. "I'm just feeling a little nervous, that's all."
Shizuru knew that she couldn't believe her brother's words. He felt a weird sensation coming from Togoru as she sensed from him too.
"Yeah. Kazuma, of course." Shizure agreeing in a low tone.
"Everything all right over there?" Botan asked.
Shizuru faced Botan with a reassuring smile responding, "Yeah, perfect." She pulled out a cigarette holding out a lighter to light up to the stick taking a puff.
Yukina approaches Kuwabara, "Hi Kazuma."
The orange male's actions changed when he saw her, "Oh, hey baby!"
"I went by one of the crushed concession stands and pulled out a pack of drinks-" Yukina held out a small crate of beer holding them out for Kuwabara wearing a warm smile on her face. "I thought it might cheer you up before your next fight."
"You really are something special Yukina. But I don't need drinks like those to cheer me up, or to have a good time...And if I did I'd always drink responsibly." He said flicking his hair up forming a smile to look very professional as he reached to grab her hands staring into her red eyes very deeply. "Besides, with the power of our love shining through...I'll beat him in point-five seconds."
"Nevermind. He's normal again." Shizuru sweatdropped. "But what you should be aware of is that picked the two final competitors to face the Toguro brothers."
"I still don't know why they allowed her to do that," Kuwabara grumbled.
The others remained in the room for a short time until they left to go investigate the loud eruption coming from the stadium. Hours later, Hiei reopens his eyes as he found himself lying on the bed as he sat up scanning around the room when his eyes landed on Nezuko sitting next to Kurama when she saw him awake.
"Mmm!" Nezuko called out his name in joy. She jumped out of her seat as Hiei sat up groggily.
"Where am I? How long have I been out?" Hiei inquired.
"We're in the locker room, and you've been hibernating for a little six hours," Kurama replied.
Hiei's eyes bulged as if they were about to pop out of his head, "Six hours? Well, who won the tournament?"
"I'm afraid I can't answer that one. Nothings changed since you were last up." Kurama said. "Yusuke and Kuwabara were bored and went out for a walk."
Hiei huffed, "You're not making sense!" He stood up knitting his eyebrows together clenching his fist.
"It's taken time to organize since you leveled half the stadium, I hear they were going to fly in a carrier plane from the mainland to transport the ring from the old stadium. "Kuram told Hiei as he continued, "But Toguro carried it on his back, so we can begin shortly."
"What?" Hiei let out a low whisper of disbelief from what he just heard from Kurama.
The announcer spoke from the intercom to let everyone know that the next battle was about to begin in 30 minutes.
"Shall we go, Hiei?" Kurama asked.
"Yeah." Hiei nodded.
From the previous battle, Suzuki gives Kuwabara an item to help him in the finals against Team Toguro. This item is revealed as the Tameshi no Ken, or "Trial Sword", which helps him defeat Elder Toguro. After Kuwabara's match with Elder Toguro had ended, Yusuke's match with Togoru was next. His teammates were rooting for him to win this battle and end it, so they can finally go back home. As Yusuke approached the ring, an unexpected guest retrieves from its grave as Elder Toguro returns ready to battle once again. But what made it sicker was when he mentioned Genkai to them, and it upset Yusuke that he glared at the old male in disgust to bring her name showing no disrespect whatsoever. There was a twist that no one saw coming was when Toguro killed his own brother with his bare hands as they commenced with the fight.
Toguro was only using eighty percent of his power against Yusuke for the first couple of minutes and managed to blow the ring into pieces, Yusuke was still able to make his way around by shooting a spirit gun fully straight at him to get him out of the stadium with one blow! It shot a huge fire to burn the trees in the woods, Nezuko was watching and so were the others to see how Yusuke had improved his power level. But unfortunately, the tables have turned when Toguro approached back to the stadium as his shades were off his face to see his eyes were full of darkness and cold within him. The fight continues, as Yusuke did another spirit technique that Genkai taught him was called "Spirit Cuffs" With his Spirit Energy released, Yusuke was easily able to overpower Toguro by unleashing a flurry of punches, only halting his barrage upon noticing Toguro's lack of a reaction towards his attacks.
When stopped Togoru remained stiffed lying on the ground motionless making Yusuke stop and jump away. A step came after another step as Togoru's body had changed so thin that he increased his strength, he darkened the whole room to fulfill his transformation shocking the others as the darkness faded away. Toguro finally deemed him worthy of facing him at 100% of his power. After transforming, Toguro's immense strength was demonstrated by the flick of his thumb being equivalent to that of a normal punch. Toguro taunted Yusuke to fire his Spirit Gun at point-blank range, only for Yusuke to find that Toguro was completely unaffected by it. Toguro easily dominated Yusuke at his full power, taunting Yusuke throughout the fight while killing several audience members to goad him to fight stronger and to sustain his own body. As Toguro had Yusuke on the ground groaning in pain holding his broken arm as he thought of something to strike his feelings.
As stated by Toguro when he was at 100%, remaining at top strength is highly demanding to the point where his body sends him impulses to devour the souls of the living. He was able to do this during the final round in the Dark Tournament via the use of the tube-like appendages on his shoulders that allowed him to absorb the souls of the audience into his body. Realizing many could die, Genkai possessed Pu and told Younger Toguro to kill one of Yusuke's friends so that, out of anger and desperation, Yusuke's complete strength could be brought out in their fight. Toguro had decided that he would kill Kazuma Kuwabara, stabbing the latter in the process. As Yusuke fired his last Spirit Gun, Toguro charged head-on instead of dodging it, absorbing the entirety of the blast with his body and dissipating the energy with his bare hands. Having used too much of his power, Younger Toguro's muscles crumbled as he collapsed onto the ground and died. Before he died, he thanked Yusuke for allowing him to finally use all of his strength.
Although Toguro merely faked killing Kuwabara, Yusuke unleashed his inner strength and began to gain dominance in the battle. Just as Yusuke was powering up his final Spirit Gun, Younger Toguro revealed that he too can go beyond his own limits; reaching 100% of his 100% form.
The battle was finally over, Yusuke was in fact deeply upset about the loss of his friend and yet angry that he faked his death.
To fulfill his promise of defeat, Sakyo commits suicide by detonating the stadium, with the participants and spectators barely able to escape, destroying all his progress in his proposal. Keiko, feeling catatonic, is unresponsive to Botan's voice, and Yusuke later slaps her back to her senses. The protagonists make it out alive at the last minute.
"It's sad, that we didn't a prize after we won. What a trick." Kuwabara muttered.
"Who cares? We manage to win and we can go home." Yusuke said.
