Now that Toguro has been defeated, the others were packing up their things to head back home and return to their normal lives. Nezuko was already packing her things in the bag that she used to be carried around in and she didn't have to anymore. As she entered the living room to see that the large windows were wide open and her friends including her boyfriend were all together.

She went over to where Yusuke was to see his bang hanging over his shoulder as she hugged behind him. She could feel his body lean over a little and he kept his eyes outside of the window to see the girls were already at Genkai's grave mourning over her death.

"After all this time, it's gonna feel weird not fearing my life," Yusuke says as he stared out of the large window.

"Don't sweat it Urameshi, I can beat you up at school every day if that makes you feel better." Kuwabara insisted.

"Mmm..." Nezuko sighed.

"Yusuke is right...Normal life for us all will seem pale for a while." Said Kurama.

Just then Puu arrives flapping his ears to fly as Yusuke and Nezuko greeted him. Yusuke opens the window to let him inside and tries to get him to talk when Genkai was inside of him, but unfortunately, the spirits wear off when they return to the living world.

"Listen Yusuke...Nezuko..."Kurama calls back to them. "It's time we said our goodbyes to her for real."

Yusuke lets out a small huff as Nezuko steps aside, "It's so dumb."

"We just gotta let her go," Kuwabara said.

Yusuke tries to keep himself hype up exclaiming, "Fine! You heard fox boy! Nothing we can do for that hag if she's already a limp. Just got to keep truckin', yes sir!" As he walked his way past everyone as Nezuko followed behind only to stop as she stood next to Hiei. "I'm gonna go outside, make myself a nice big shiny medal first-place medal, sit in the sun, and have a stupendous stupid day, DAMMIT!" He walked out of the room slamming the door behind him.

"Well, all right Urameshi! Would you make me a medal too?" Kuwabara asked.

Hiei only let out a small grunt, "He's so neck-deep in repression even I feel sorry for him." As Puu flew past him to get caught up with Yusuke, this was a little hard for Nezuko to let go of too. Genkai looked up to her as a daughter which made Nezuko feel like she's at home. "Hey, do you have all of your things?"

"Mmm-Mmm." Nezuko nodded.

"Let's go meet him down where he is. We can stop by the cafe while we wait on the girls." Kurama suggested as he tugs on his luggage the same goes for Kuwabara. Hiei hums as he takes Nezuko by the hand to exit out of the room to head down the first floor which was the lobby to order themselves a drink.

Nezuko sat between Hiei and Yusuke while taking a sip out of her tea since her boyfriend had to instruct her on how to drink. They were all sitting together at the table waiting for the girls to do their little shopping since the last boat will be arriving soon.

"Geez, what's takin' those girls so long? We're gonna get left!" Kuwabara complained.

"Not everyone packed just one set of clothes," Kurama said.

"It's just like a family vacation. My dumb sister's always making us late. Prob'ly plucking her mustache." Kuwabara spoke out loud not even sensing his sister standing behind him with her hands shoved into her pockets.

"Should I tell them about your Fluffy Doll?" Shizuru teased.

Kuwabara freaks out jumping out of his seat as Kurama steps out of his to let him take his seat. Nezuko sat there deadpanned processing what just happened as Hiei playfully nudge her to finish up her drink.

"Oh, uh, uh! Hi, sis! Enough family stories. I was just tellin' them how pretty you are." Kuwabara stammered.

"You're a moron." Shizure smacks her lips scowling at her little brother.

Keiko, Botan, and Yukina arrived holding shopping bags apologizing for being gone for so long.

"Oh look, the tone-deaf sirens."Yusuke sarcastically said.

Shizure tossed her bag to hold her things along with the other girls especially Yukina's stuff that he wouldn't mind holding. Yusuke handed Puu over to Keiko to hold when they were ready to head out, and as for Nezuko, she was done drinking her tea as Hiei grasp her head to walk out of the hotel. While they were all heading out, Yusuke lets out a deep sigh.

"You know I'm actually going to miss this stupid place," Yusuke said in an audible tone.

"It feels like we've been here for years," Kuwabara said.

"Losing someone can do that," Botan added.

Kuwabara quickly covers Botan's mouth trying to sympathize with her that they were all trying to get Urameshi out of the room all morning long. While they were all standing around, there was a foghorn being heard in the distance and the ship for the last call had just arrived.

"Back to skipping detentions," Yusuke said.

"And video games!" Kuwabara chimed.

"My human mother," Kurama says in a soft mid-tone.

"Various crimes." Hiei bluntly said.

"Mmm!" Nezuko squeaked out loud as Yusuke gave her a head pat and she turned to smile up at Hiei.

"Alright let's go home!" Yusuke exclaimed.

"Well, excuse me if I'm a little insulted." A voice spoke up loud and clear to bring attention to the others.

"Hold on a sec..." Yusuke paused.

Could it be?

Their heads turned to see a familiar figure approaching towards them with their arms behind their back, they wore a small grin on their face.

"You just gonna have to leave the old fossil behind?" The old hag that returned from the dead was none other than Genkai.

Botan takes off running towards the old hag smiling, "Genkai! I-I don't believe it!"

Kuwabara runs after her to greet Genaki, "You're...She's really alive!"

Nezuko's eyes beamed as she grabbed Hiei's hand to run over to Genkai that she was so happy to see her alive. When she let go, she wrapped her arm around her to see her alive.

"It's nice to see you again, Nezuko." Genkai huskily said.

"Mmm!" Nezuko said.

"Must've rubbed off on me dimwit. I died like you." Genkai said as she looked over at Yusuke who was standing a few feet away as she smirked. "Half-assed."

"G-Genkai!" He stutters out as he formed a wide grin on his face, "Come here you beautiful hag!"

As they were riding on the ship to set sail, Nezuko looks over at the rail humming to herself as she looked across the sea. She deeply thought about what had happened during her match against Hayami to win against her. Her brother was there trying to make make sure she wasn't going to die on any occasion while she fought. Her thoughts were cut off when she felt a warm hand on top of hers as she looked up to see Hiei standing there as wore a stoic expression.

"Enjoying the view?"He merely asked.

Nezuko nodded, "Mmm! Mmm!"

The fire demon watched the girl look back at the sea and said, "I won't be coming back." When Nezuko heard him say that she felt a little sad that he wasn't going to be returning to the human world. She understood that the demon world was a lot different than being around humans. Hiei doesn't trust humans and he was slowly taking his time to try to get along with Yusuke and Kuwabara. Same as Kurama who was earning his trust with the two. "If I do come back...will you wait for me?" He merely asked staring down at Nezuko as she lets out a soft sigh.

She understood his pain, coldness, and isolation away from everyone that has left him all for nothing. Only she knew how he felt which broke her heart when she saw the sadness in him, unlike the others that struggle through what they've experienced. Nezuko rested her other hand on Hiei's still staring up at him not clueless, but she senses the pain from this fire demon that didn't understand the meaning of this world. She then rested her head against his chest feeling an arm wrapped around her to keep her protected to feel the warm body heat that he wore from his robe.

"I'll wait for you too. I might even consider taking you out or showing you around the demon world. If it's okay with you." He says in an audible tone as she looked up merely nodding her head up and down.

"Hey! Nezuko since your walking around now, you won't have to worry about wearing heavy clothing." Yusuke says with a light chuckle as Nezuko merely smiles.

"Mmm!" Nezuko says in delight.

Meanwhile, Tanjiro sighs to himself as he walked through the dark forest to complete his next mission. Thankfully, while he defeated the demon he fought months after Nezuko's disappearance he's been deeply dreaming about her and manages to find out that she's alive! Since Nezuko had disappeared Zenitsu became depressed and his lack of fear and screaming had left, Inosuke has been the same always up for a challenge to become stronger than the other demon slayers. Now he was alone without his sister but he prayed that she'll return or if he manages to find his way to get to her.

'How am I going to be able to find Nezuko? I'm grateful to hear that she's alive and well...but what did she get herself into while we were separated?' Tanjiro was deeply thinking in his mind about what could he possibly do if Nezuko was staying in that other world differently compared to the one he's in.

"I'll find a way to get to you Nezuko," Tanjiro muttered to himself as he clenched his fist together.

While Tanjiro was walking a mysterious tall male appeared behind him as he cleared his throat, "Excuse me! Young boy?" Tanjiro stopped his tracks to see a male standing there a handsome teenager with medium-length brown hair, parted down the middle a red obi sash tied at the waist of a pink-trimmed blue robe over brown pants and black shoes. In the "Jr." mark on his forehead and a blue pacifier kept in his mouth. He appears remarkably young for his age.

"Uh, can I help you, sir?" Tanjiro asked politely.

"Yes, I am looking for a boy name Tanjiro Kamado."

Tanjiro blinks twice and responds, "I'm Tanjiro Kamado. Are you looking for me for what reason? But why are you sucking on a pacifier?"

The male gave him a side-eye saying, "My name is Koenma, I was looking for you and I was requested to come to bring you with me."

"Wait, hold on! What exactly for anyway?" Tanjiro asked a little untrusted to follow this guy.

"To bring you to where your sister Nezuko is," Koenma said.

"Wait! N-Nezuko is there with you?" Tanjiro asked.

"If you wish to come with me to see her. Then follow me." Koenma held out his hand for Tanjiro to grab as the boy hesitantly takes it as he felt the gravity leaving off his feet as if he were floating.

"Wait! Where are we going?" Tanjiro asked.

"Just to take you somewhere before I let you stop by into the demon world," Koenma replied.

Back in the human world, the others were returning home while they were saying goodbye to one another and maybe see each other around. Hiei was in the far back avoiding everyone as his eyes fell onto the demon girl just saying goodbye to Kurama and Kuwabara.

"Nezuko?" Hiei called over to her as she turns her head to meet his gaze. "Do you want to go do something before I go?"

Nezuko's eyes twinkled as she nodded her head as she ran over to Yusuke grasping the hem of his wrist to get his attention. She pointed at herself and then at Hiei, and he was trying to get the message until he figured it out.

"You're going to hang out with Hiei? Go ahead." Yusuke merely nodded.

As Nezuko ran back to Hiei, she tugs on his wrist begging to take her anywhere as he couldn't help but chuckle over her childish act. He was being dragged by the girl and decided to pick a less crowded place where they can hang out.

Yusuke watches them leave only to face back to Kurama wearing a small smile, "I still can't believe that Nezuko and Hiei are this close together especially if they were demons. I wonder what she did to make him like her?" He shrugs his shoulders as Kurama faintly smiled.

"Apparently, I think he enjoys having her around and the way she acts differently than most demons," Kurama said.

"Yeah, but she really is a lot different when she first came around me." Yusuke said with a smug on his face as lowered his head, "It's like having a little sister around, although I don't have any siblings to look after. But she treats me like I'm her brother or something."

"That's actually what she's doing to all of us," Kurama said as Yusuke looked at him with a raised eyebrow up in confusion.

"What do you mean, Kurama?" He asked.

"I think we should have told you something about Nezuko while you were out training with Genkai. Apparently, Nezuko isn't a demon-she was a human before turning into a demon from the person that killed her family only to leave her and her older brother alive." Kurama explained to Yusuke who was a little shocked to hear this coming from the fox demon. "Nezuko thinks we're her family because she doesn't have any memories of when she was once human. It's sad, yes, but..."

"Wait, if she's not a demon, but was a human. How is that possible?" Yusuke inquired.

"I have no idea. Maybe her brother might know it because she's willing to see him again." Said Kurama.

"What's her brother's name?" Yusuke asked.

"His name is Tanjiro Kamado. He's a demon slayer that kills demons that are not in our world, but in their own universe it would seem." He responded by giving him a little more detail about what he learned about Nezuko's brother. "She said he wears a green/black checkered coat and it made me realize something else. You're wearing the color green and she thinks that you're her brother because he wears that kind of color. So, you should protect her; the same goes to Hiei as well."

"Eh, Hiei wants to protect Nezuko?" Yusuke was beyond shocked by the news after hearing this coming from the fox.

"Yes." Kurama merely nodded. "Didn't you notice how he changed around her to be a little more open and protective around her?"

"No. I had no idea." Yusuke scratches the back of his nape quite surprised that the fire demon was commenced to fall for Nezuko. Not only that, he learned that Nezuko was a human girl, and her family was killed just when that demon who did all of that ruined her life as well as her brothers.

~Time Skip~

When Hiei dropped Nezuko off at Yusuke's apartment, he noticed that the detective was standing at the doorway as he gave him a look. Did he look angry? No. It looked as if he wasn't certain about having Nezuko around him.

"So, where did you guys go?" Yusuke asked.

Hiei responded, "I only took her to some places around the city. Why you'd ask?"

Yusuke sighs, "I just want her back here no later than that since you'll be gone while she's here."

"Is there a problem? Or is it something I-"

"Hiei," Yusuke calls his name in a deep tone. "...I'm only acting like this because I don't want Nezuko to get herself hurt out there. It's a big city...she barely knows her way around it, and I just want her to be safe."

"What's that supposed to mean? She can protect herself and I can step in if necessary." Hiei remarked.

Yusuke shook his head.

"It's not that I don't trust you looking out for her. I'm just worried about her is all."

"I know that and why do you think I don't?" Hiei questioned.

"Because I know that Nezuko's brother isn't around to protect her while I'm here. I'm not trying to be her brother's replacement-I just want her to be safe." Yusuke was so determined about keeping Nezuko here with him and he knew that she wasn't quite using to be living in their human world that is different than hers. Hiei was a little furious in the beginning, but he understood what Yusuke was feeling around the young girl like he does. She wasn't used to being around anything or anywhere when she was afraid of sunlight and now that she can prevent getting harmed by it. She can now fully explore the city and Yusuke wanted to show her way around as much as Hiei does.

"Understood. It took me a while to think that you wanted to be the overprotective brother that she doesn't have around." Hiei narrowed his eyes up at the detective as he glanced inside to see Nezuko was already done showering and she was in her pajamas standing there waiting patiently. "But I am there too, and she knows that I'm always around to protect her."

Yusuke couldn't help but form a small grin on his face, "You sure are different when you're around her. What happened to get the revenge on her? Not cut out for it?" He teasingly asked the fire demon as Hiei sent him a glare.

"I personally want to experience her movements that she did back in the dark tournament. Her abilities as a demon are quite intriguing and the pattern of her movements are instantly just a good opportunity to try out." Hiei replied as he stared back at Yusuke then over at Nezuko.

"Mmm...Mnf!" Nezuko said under her muzzle as she looked up at Yusuke as he stepped aside to let her say goodbye. As the demon stood outside with his arms behind his back as Nezuko wrapped her arms around his waist to bury her face into his chest as he gave her a gentle pat on the head.

"You'll be fine while I'm gone. Right?" Hiei asked pulling away as Nezuko stares up at him giving him a nod.

As they pulled away, Yusuke waves goodbye to Hiei and shuts the door behind him, then he goes to the same room he shares with Nezuko. As he entered his room, he saw her sitting on the bed kicking her legs back n' forth staring at the wall before he took a seat next to her.

"Well, I'm glad that the dark tournament is all over and we won't have to be facing Toguro again," Yusuke told Nezuko as he faintly smiled to himself as he stared down at the ground. "Geez, it feels so weird when we're not there kicking other demons' asses. But I'm grateful we don't have to deal with more hell than we already are in. Right Nezuko?" He felt ahead resting on his shoulder as he picked up Nezuko to put her in his bed just to let her rest there for the night. She's was already exhausted after the fight and the long trip fighting other demons on the island. He went over to the futon and decided to sleep in it for that night.

Back to where Tanjiro was being dragged by Koenma, he was being taken to another place that was completely different and not familiar. The world was fully covered in the dirt only leading a path far far away just as soon they landed in front of some fortress.

"What is this place?" Tanjiro asked.

"You are in the spirit world," Koenma replied. He then pressed the button to let himself inside followed by Tanjiro. "This is my palace and I work here."

"What for?" Tanjiro asked again.

"The spirit world is the world where sentient beings humans and demons go after they die. This is not the equivalent of Heaven or Hell; it is sort of a station in between worlds where a soul's fate is decided." Koenma explained as he opened the huge doors that revealed giant ogres running around doing work that would seem as if the people were dying or caused themselves to end dying.

This amazed Tanjiro that this was a place that sends the living or the dead off to seal their fate. This may explain why Nezuko was involved in this. They were entering another large door that was an office as Koenma shifted himself back into a toddler that startles the swordsman.

"H-How did you do?" Tanjiro asked.

"Simple. Just by doing what I just did." Koenma responded.

Tanjiro arched an eyebrow, "Does it have to deal with the pacifier in your mouth?"

"Somewhat." He shrugged his shoulders at the young male who was looking deadpanned.

"Just how old are you anyway?"

"I'm live 700, but I'm mainly 18 or 19 if I were a human," Koenma responded. "This is where I fill out paperwork to decide what the fate of a person's soul is to be. I judge the merit of their good deeds, weigh them against their bad deeds, and decides if they will go to Heaven or Hell, among other unstated possibilities."

"So, are you going to take me to Nezuko? Where is she?" Tanjiro asked.

"Calm down. I just need to ask you a few questions and then please respond to them." Koenma said.

There were overly twenty questions that Tanjiro had to respond to if knew or didn't completely know what he was getting himself into despite Nezuko being a demon. Koenma was very pleased to hear the sake of the young boy for answering them and even a little fascinated about what their world is really capable of. Finally, Koenma didn't argue as he suggested that to let Tanjiro be willing to step foot into the human world to see his sister again.

"After all of that has been dropped down for me to list. I say that your all good." Koenma said.

Tanjiro forces a smile on his face, "Oh, well, that's very kind of you, Koenma, sir."

"I'll send you down. But you might want to change out of your gear first." Koenma said.

He had Jorge the ogre hand him a pair of neatly folded clothes for him to wear when he makes his way down to the human world. As he went into the changing room to strip out of his gear into the new clothes, he had his sword wrapped around the waist belt and his checkered, black-and-sea-foam-green haori over a white robe wrapped around the waist to cover his sword.

"I'm ready," Tanjiro said.

"Good. I hope you enjoy your time finding Nezuko there and she'll be excited to see you again." Koenma said as Tanjiro sent him a small nod.

"Yeah. So, will I." Tanjiro had a small smile as a snap of Koenma's fingers to send Tanjiro to the human world.

When Tanjiro arrived it was already dark and he can that the human world was incredibly different than he thought it would be.

"I'm coming Nezuko," Tanjiro said.
