Yusuke P.O.V.
Last night was a bit of a catastrophe, but thankfully Tanjiro and Nezuko stopped the psychic Seaman aka Mitari from killing Kuwabara and his friends. After awakening at Yusuke's apartment, he is interrogated by the termitaria began to tell us that he was the same way as the Doctor after watching a video called Chapter Black, but that wasn't all of the shocking news when Koenma did facetime with us. Koenma told us that they revealed the villain's identity behind all of this and his name was Shinobu Sensui.
"Shinobu Sensui…" Koenma starts by explaining his true identity to us. "He was the Spirit Detective of the earth before you came along."
'He was a spirit detective? Why did he become a villain all of sudden?' I thought.
"An enemy just like you. I wasn't prepared for that. "Genkai said.
"Look, Botan, no more innocent acts. What the hell is this?" I demanded.
"Why me?" She asked cluelessly.
"You help Spirit Detectives, right? You must've been with this guy." I simply said.
She scrunched her face replying, "In those days I was just a simple grim reaper."
"Oh, give me a break. What good is an assistant if they can't dish out gossip? You might as well have stayed on your oar."
"Well, maybe I should. I like that job." She said, pointing a finger at me as I knitted my eyebrows together. "It takes sacrifices to be in human form all day."
Kurama jumps into the conversation saying, "Let's try to stick to the subject of Sensui."
Botan did a kawaii cat face, "Fine, in that case, I'm useless! Meow!"
Nezuko comes into the room as she lays on the floor resting her head on my lap as always, Tanjiro was leaning against the doorway with his arms folded over his chest.
A few minutes later, Kuwabara was awake just in time when Koenma came over to share information about Sensui being his first Spirit Detective before I became his replacement. There was a shocking truth about what Sensui saw becoming a total bombarded nightmare that he'll never forget which was dealing with humans. The tape and not only that-Sensui plans to destroy the human race.
"I let myself believe he'd lost his mind and was harmless," Koenma said in a shameful tone. "I should have tracked him better. One thing I know about Sensui is that he'll never stop. Not till he's accomplished his goal."
Kurama and I were listening to Koenma until we felt someone watching them through the glass window. We turned around to see Sensui and that other guy that shot Makura was Sniper.
"We're not alone," I said. "It's him!"
We stood our ground glancing at Sniper holding his palm out as Kuwabara stood up immediately to run out of the apartment and head over to where the others were next door. He was just in time before Sniper could hit Mitari with some bullets through the glass window into the wall. After the save Kuwabara and I raced out of the apartment to jump down to meet with Sensui and Sniper.
Sensui held up two peace signs as I stared at him confused. "Love and peace?" I asked questionably.
"No, you jerk," Kuwabara said. "He's making a V for Victory sign before we start."
"Simpleminded boys," Sensui said with a grin. "It means two days 'till the tunnel opens."
My eyes bulged, "What?"
"What's the matter, Detective Yusuke Urameshi. Did you think you had more time?" He inquired cockily.
"A little birdie from Spirit World said we still had a full week," I replied.
"Come now, we both know not to trust their we made some leaps forward last night."
It wasn't until Nezuko, Tanjiro, Kurama, Genkai, and Koenma came down to step in for the fight that was about to commence between me and him.
"Yo, Sensui." Koenma greeted him in a cold tone.
"Been a long time," Sensui said.
"I would hope you have more to say to me than that." Koenma sending a glare over at Sensui menacingly.
Keiko soon arrived holding Puu in her arms as I told her to stand back so she won't get involved in this battle we're about to have on the streets.
"Okay, I'm takin' this one," Kuwabara said, stepping in as I gave myself an eye roll.
"Don't be a moron. You'll play it as I tell you." I protested.
"Didn't you hear what I said?" Kuwabara exclaimed.
"Beating Sea Man was a brave feat. But you're injured, and in no shape to fight." Kurama said sincerely.
"He's right." Genkai agreed with Kurama as Kuwabara let out a scoff.
I took a step forward next to Koenma as he spoke up, "Keep your distance, Yusuke. It's no cakewalk for you, either." I glanced over at him as he continued to face Sensui. "I started him off, too. He can store up his spirit energy and fire it just like you."
"So he and Urameshi have the same technique." Kuwabara inquired.
"How strong is his power?" Genkai asked.
"Can't say…" Koenma said. "We don't know what he's learned in the last ten years."
"Ten years? That's awfully a long time for a detective to train on their own to learn that technique." Tanjiro flatly said.
"Then any initial contact is going to be a gamble," Kurama stated.
"Are you listening to all of this, Urameshi?"
I didn't say anything until I formed a cock smirk on my face, "Sounds like fun."
"That's something you shouldn't be worried about. Come. Let's begin our battle. Shall we?" He smirked as I narrowed my eyes at him deeply worried.
I had to face the predecessor that just turned himself into a villain to fight me with his incredible power. Koenma was right. This guy was totally strong and yet, I couldn't lay a single finger against him making it more difficult.
"Tell me, Sensui. Why do you want to destroy the human race?" I demanded.
"None of your concern, but I need one of your friends for the important project to finish up," I gritted my teeth feeling overwhelmed.
"You're not using any of my friends to destroy the human race. Not a chance!" I sneered.
We were now in public with other people thinking this was some kind of movie scene we're making. I wish that I knew how to stop Sensui, but there is nothing I can do.
Kurama P.O.V.
Sensui is a lot stronger than Yusuke so Koenma was correct that these two have the same spirit energy. It's such a shame that he became someone like this just to plan on destroying the human race.
"So..." Sensui starts speaking up, "Dare you to risk that erratic weapon amongst civilians?" I had my rose whip standing around other civilians as I gritted my teeth glaring at him coldly.
'Merciless coward.' I thought. 'No wonder he moves the fight to the center of town.'
"I'm hurt, Kurama. Isn't my death worth a few lives, they'll be dead soon enough?" Sensui inquired as I gripped the handle of my rose whip, not moving until I sensed someone heading over this way quickly.
"No! P-Please don't hurt them!" Tanjiro shouted.
"Mmm!" Nezuko nodded.
"What's this? A demon and a human that I heard about is roaming around the area taking on against other psychics? Or perhaps demons?" Sensui faced the two with a plastered grin on his face as I knitted my eyebrows together. I can't strike in public and we can't harm the civilians.
We then heard the sound of a roaring motorcycle as it leaped over to where we were landing, the biker had a box of some sort holding it by the handle. He swoops towards Nezuko to scoop her inside as she let out a small yelp as my mouth gaped open to see Sniper holding her trap inside of the box smirking deviously.
"Nezuko!" Tanjiro shouted.
"Farwell!" Sensui said, forming a small grin on his face as the others chased after him, but I stayed behind trying to rescue Nezuko.
"Release her!" I demanded swinging my whip ready to strike as he gave me a smirk holding out his palm that would seem to be bullets.
"You can't do that with these innocents standing around." I strictly told him.
"Fine, not that I ever miss my target," Sniper claimed.
"Kurama! It's Yusuke and Kuwabara!" Keiko ran up the stairway towards me as I glanced back at her.
"Get back!" I shouted as Sniper shot a bullet aiming towards Keiko until Puu blocked it. Sniper had time to escape with Nezuko on his bike as I cursed under my breath.
'I failed...' I thought of gripping my whip in a tight grasp of losing Nezuko like that.
Things weren't going to be so easy not going so well, first Nezuko was being kidnapped, and now Kuwabara as well. Sensui was escaping while riding in the back of a truck with other riders that were taking them away as an escape. Yusuke had used his spirit gun on accident because due to his rage he could've killed Kuwabara and Nezuko! Luckily, Amanuma, a child driving the vehicle, didn't have to worry about getting hit when Sensui used his attack to draw out the spirit gun attack.
"Double hell!" Yusuke cursed.
There was no stopping that truck, not unless riding a bike to catch up to it is the only way.
"Tanjiro! Get on!" Yusuke shouted over at the boy as he ran over to sit on the back standing on the bars.
"What is this?" Tanjiro asked.
"It's a bike and it's our one-way ticket to get past traffic to stop that damn truck!" Yusuke begins to start pedaling with Tanjiro clutching his hands-on on the detective's shoulders.
"You're drivin' on the wrong side of the road you half-pint loony!" Kuwabara screamed. He was tied up by Makihara fingers that were wrapped around his body minus Nezuko who sat in the back trapped inside of the box that was strapped onto the door preventing her to escape.
Amanuma who was driving the car didn't care to knock other cars off the road to cause a horrible accident.
"Hey! Stupid rubber-neckers! Get outta my way!" Yusuke shouted at the people as he pedaled on the bike curving around the cars that had been wrecked due to the car accident that Amanuma had caused to make a getaway. When Yusuke was pedaled by someone watching not far from him in the alley, Sniper grinned as he rode on his motorcycle to chase Yusuke.
Meanwhile, Koenma and Genkai were rushing inside to check on the others after Sensui had used an attack to aim directly towards Yusuke's apartment.
"That Reikou-Resshuuken sure packs a wallop!" Koenma said running up the stairway with Genkai to head up straight to Yusuke's apartment.
"Yes. Too much for Yusuke, even if he is on a "serious" binge." Genkai replied, turning the corner to run up the stairs with Koenma following behind her.
"So what's his strategy?" Genkai asked. "Why aim at the apartment when Yusuke was standing right there?"
"Must've been targeting Sea Monkey, again." Koenma mocked. "Sensui certainly is persistent and goal-oriented. I'll give him that." Koenma replied as they turned around another corner of more stairs, "Just two of the many qualities I avoided when I hired Yusuke."
Once they've reached Yusuke's apartment, Koenma opens the door and begins to cough due to the smoke around them.
"Drama prince." Genkai dryly said as she gathered up her spirit energy to wipe out the smoke. "Fiat Lux!"
"You do know a lot of tricks," Koenma said, astonished.
"Hiding in a compound can do that to you," Genkai replied.
They went inside the apartment to find Botan lying underneath a bookshelf unconscious and Mitarai leaning his back up against the wall trembling in fear. Genkai and Koenma rushed over to Botan to help her as the old hag healed her apart from her injuries behind her back bruised up due to the bookshelf falling on her. Botan awoke and remembers what happened until Kurama enters carrying an unconscious Shizuru in his arms.
"This team just keeps falling apart. Put her on the bed." Genkai ordered the handsome red-head demon who obeyed, laying Shizuru down to let Genkai heal her.
Back with Yusuke, he was still chasing down the truck pedaling as hard as he could to catch up to it. They were in the countryside of Japan now, and it was far from the city but he didn't know where Sensui was taking his friends after riding the bike for so long.
'Sensui, you made a big mistake messing with one of my friends. And I'm gonna kick your ass twice as hard for it!' Yusuke thought gritting his teeth, tightening the rims of the bike as he pedaled faster than his legs could carry him.
"Hold on to what you got!" Amanuma gripped the steering wheel to make a sharp curve around the mountain, whipping half of them to the side to prevent them from leaping out. "Drivin' a real cat's pretty much like the racing game at the arcade."
"You've never driven before?" Kuwabara exclaimed.
"Of course not, dumbass! I'm only eleven years old!" Amanuma replied.
"Aw give the poor backseat driver a break, Game Master," Makihara said, glancing behind him, narrowing his eyes at Kuwabara. "He's probably just a little on edge because his seat belts fastened too tight." He chuckled darkly, tightening Kuwabara's ribcage with his fingers. "I wanna see his full power, even if I have to squeeze it up out of him like the last stubborn glob of toothpaste in the tube." As Makihara squeezed Kuwabara to hear the painful screaming that pleased him as Eri stares at the human male worried.
"Please, Gourmet, give him a break. You're torturing my ears as well." Sensui said.
"Why don't you just kill me?" Kuwabara declared as Makihara released Kuwabara, letting him breathe after squeezing the life out of him.
Sensui gave him a stoic expression, "You fail to see your destiny, Kuwabara. You and Nezuko are going to help us put our cursed race to an end."
Eri trembled knowing what he meant when he said that as Kuwabara glared at Sensui. "And you don't understand who I am. I'll never help you. Neither will Nezuko."
'What does this guy want with Nezuko anyway?' Kuwabara thought.
"But you're meant to. Don't you see?" Sensui starts. "That's why you and Nezuko have been given to these powers. The universe wants a human and a masterpiece atonement just as badly as I."
Kuwabara snarled, "You're pitching the same crap you did to Mitari. But I don't bend!"
Sensui let out a small chuckle, "Silly me. I must have given you a false impression we need both of your consent to help us. We have other ways to make your power ours. Just like your friend Elder Toguru."
Kuwabara glanced over at Sensui, shocked that he knew who the elder Toguru was and that old freak wasn't even dead after he remained alive.
"Huh? What do you mean? That old freak has been dead for months!" Kuwabara exclaimed as Sensui had a dark smirk formed across his lips.
"Look down at your bondage. Don't those fingers bring back memories?" Sensui reminded the human male who gawked his mouth slightly open.
Kuwabara begins to sweat, "Oh man! I knew these creepy fingers were familiar. But how can your guy have Toguru's hands?"
"Because he swallowed him," Sensui replied in a casual cryptic tone. "The same way he's going to swallow you, Kuwabara, as soon as your power is completed. Eri doesn't need to be chowed down on the menu. We need her for other reasons that her power is remarkably important to us."
The orange brunette male gritted his teeth narrowing his eyes over at the male, "What are you planning to use Nezuko for?"
"You'll see when you get a look of her incredible power," Sensui said with a small smug on his face as Kuwabara was perplexed by this guy about using Nezuko to use for this mission.
"No! I won't let you do anything to us like that!" Kuwabara exclaimed. "You crazy freak!"
The words spat out of Kuwabara's big mouth that Makihara used his fingers to tighten into his bondage making Kuwabara cry out in pain. Nezuko couldn't do anything; just sit there and listen in the horror of the orange male squirming and pleading for the pain to stop. She wished to take action against that man if she could get out of the box.
In the distance, Yusuke was riding the bike to head straight towards them pedaling with the amount of muscle his legs would carry him. He gritted his teeth hearing his friend beg for mercy being tied up and Nezuko was still trapped into the box.
"I can see them up ahead!" Tanjiro said.
'Hang on, Kuwabara and Nezuko! We're coming for you.' Yusuke thought about gripping the rims as he felt his palms sweating but didn't lose focus on the truck to pedal faster to keep up with it.
"What, you couldn't find a little girl's scooter?" Kuwabara inquired.
"I don't know? You couldn't go weak without getting snagged by the forces of evil?"Yusuke sarcastically responded.
As Yusuke pedaled to get close to where the riders were in the front he ranted, "Consider this your first and only chance to get out of this thing alive! Now pull over or I'll run you off-road!"
Amanuma sweats drops over Yusuke's way of threatening to diss them off the road which was impossible because he's riding on a bike.
"He can't possibly do that with a bicycle can he?" Amanuma inquired.
"I don't know, but if we don't lose him quickly he'll follow us to our secret, ex-secret hideout," Makihara said.
"I told you I have it under control," Sensui said with a slight grin on his face.
"Release my sister and Kuwabara this instant!" Tanjiro shouted with an angry gesture towards the young psychics.
The two riders were curving on the side of the road, Yusuke was trying to save them, the least he could do was to stop the truck. If he had an idea to stop it. Behind the riders was Sniper riding on his motorcycle catching up to their tails, Yusuke glanced over his shoulder to see him pull out a dice. Sniper used his energy to pluck the dice towards Yusuke's bike to knock him off of the bike to tumble on the road. Yusuke's shirt ripped off as he rolled on the side of the road, dirty up, and lost sight of the truck. Tanjiro rolls beside him as he struggles to stand up only to have a scar and dirt on his face.
"So close," Yusuke mumbled, wiping the dirt off his. "Prick!"
As Sniper came over to him, flashing something over Yusuke and Tanjiro's body were target points. The members of the 7 psychics explained what he will do to Yusuke if he can manage to survive this painful task.
"Oh great! I always wanted tattoos." Yusuke sarcastically complimented.
"Those, my friends, are targets," Sniper said.
"For what?" Tanjiro asked.
"For me to hit of course, and at any time and any range without me having to aim."
Sniper held out something in his hands explaining in more detail what he'll do to Yusuke. "Oh, and with my ammunition, I so choose, as these rocks for instance."
As Sniper demonstrates his attack on Yusuke with the small rocks, he aims it only to miss when Yusuke caught them. But with the quick aim experience, Yusuke winces in pain as he feels the sharp rocks in his palms letting them loose as he begins to start bleeding. Tanjiro's lips form into a straight line, his eyes were focused on the male.
"Hey...nice catch," Sniper said with a smug grin on his face. "Now as long as you never let your guard down, you have nothing to worry about."
"Freak," Yusuke said, clenching his bloody palms glaring at the biker.
"Come on, let's not resort to name-calling. My proper name is Kaname Hagiri, but my victims call me Sniper." He introduced himself in a monotone voice. "From this moment on you'll never be able to go anywhere without looking over your shoulder. Enjoy living in fear Yusuke, while you still can."
Just like that, Sniper sped off as Yusuke ran behind him ranting, "Hey, get back here! You don't scare me!"
Yusuke P.O.V.
This is just fantastic! I lost my friends against Sensui with his two members that are psychics and not only have I lost them...I failed to rescue them. Damn it, this day couldn't get any worse than it already has. Now, we're playing a game of "Survive Through Hell" because of Sniper putting these targets on my body. Two on my arms, one on my chest, and one on my stomach. They won't come off unless Sniper may remove them or I'll die in vain to get hit by something coming straight towards me. We ran in the deep part of the forest watching our surroundings to make sure whatever is coming for us is something that I have to take cover and destroy. This is not going to be easy.
Some surprise attacks were heading my way, I knew that Sniper was doing this when we spotted his bike being a park, but he was hiding wherever to aim at me. The more of the attacks, the more influence and strategizing We had to avoid any of Sniper's surprise attempts. I hope the others are alright, they should be just fine after Sensui intervenes with us to cause a whole lot of drama in the city. We had to get out of Sniper's territory, and when we began to run a truck appeared around the corner with no driver which I bet was Sniper's next move to run me over. The truck followed me off the road, down the hillside of the woods to crash which I was glad that I survived. Or at least I thought...
I realized that I wasn't in the forest due to the truck explosion, we were at the same spot with Sniper was on top of the high mountain glancing at us. But he was talking to someone that must have rescued us. Our eyes shifted up as we saw Hiei standing between us glaring towards Sniper with a deep stoic expression on his face.
"Who are you?" Sniper demanded. "This can't be."
"Hiei?" I called out to him huskily.
"Don't get sentimental, Detective." He said in a dry tone as he began walking towards where Sniper stood.
Sniper held out a pistol pointing towards Hiei and I'm sure that he loaded bullets into that thing. Hiei better is careful not to get hit by any of them.
"I have no quarrel with you, stranger, but I also don't mind killing anyone who stands in our way," Sniper said gritting his teeth, gripping the pistol, giving Hiei a piercing look in his eyes ready to aim at him. Hiei wasn't phased by his threat knowing that he wasn't going to get hurt by Sniper anyway.
"Last warning!" Sniper gave Hiei his final warning not to come straight towards him.
That's when he pulled the trigger aiming at Hiei shooting out 9 bullets at him that he barely even hit him. But in a flash, Hiei was already near Sniper and had his sword stabbed into his chest area.
"Hiei!" We yelled.
"What, now I'm not even allowed to kill the bad humans?" He remarked. "It's a few inches from his heart if that's what you're worried about."
"But still you don't have to kill him!" Tanjiro protested.
While Hiei was back talking with me, Sniper wrapped his arm around his neck and aimed towards me, shakingly holding the pistol.
"What's the point?"I gritted my teeth, narrowing my eyes on him.
"No one can stop our justified cause." Sniper huffed.
With a single stab through the chest, Hiei swiftly killed Sniper, releasing him holding his sword that had his blood on it.
"You...You saved us." I said with my mouth halfway gaped open.
"I was worried about the trees," Hiei claimed.
He approached me glancing over to where the city was located by a force field as the demon world hovered above it trying to break through it.
"This wind is coming, it feels like home. It's comforting and it soothes me." Hiei said, glimpsing over the feeling endearing the soft breeze and scent he could smell from the distance.
"It tastes like freshly spilled blood and the rotting flesh of decaying corpses."
I couldn't predict what he just said but all I know...is that he missed being in the demon world after being trapped here.
"Look at it. The gateway to Demon World will be open soon." He says as I gritted my teeth knowing the gate will open and the demons will appear here in the human world. "Maybe I'll return home."
I smashed my fist into the ground feeling rage built up, "Dammit! I beat Toguru, and after I assumed everything else would..." I gripped my fist glaring at the landscape around me. "Would just be a big piece of cake. And then some rogue Spirit Detective has to go and open up the freaking gates of hell!" I stood up to get back on my feet again limping a little, "And to top it all off Kuwabara and Nezuko have to get themselves all kidnapped!"
"You're in no shape to be playing the hero." Hiei flatly said.
"Well if I don't, who will? Not you, remember? This is our world, not yours!" I recalled back to him gritting my teeth as I walked away. "See ya! I have to go save the world again."
"Yusuke..." Tanjiro called out to me and I only ignored him.
When I was about to leave Hiei out here on his own, I noticed him coming up behind me, using to swiftly raise his sword behind me.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that." He aimed at me as I dodged it, but when I landed he pin-pointed the blade towards my neck. "For the second time today, I hold your life in my hands. Somehow I doubt this Sensui will be as merciful as I."
I could hear him let out a hearty laugh as I glared at him, "Kuwabara and Nezuko need me."
"Kuwabara was ill-prepared for them and looked at what happened to him. As for Nezuko, she too was in the same situation for getting herself captured." He bitterly said.
I gritted my teeth to stand up and glared down at him, "Shut up!"
His eyes squinted at me directly," Do I have to kill you to keep you from being foolish?"
"You just might, Hiei!"
"Wait, guys! There is no reason to start a fight when there are more important things to worry about." Tanjiro was trying to break us apart, but I was not the type of guy to let things slide-not like this.
"Tanjiro...let us handle this," I told him as he stared at me deadpanned before taking a few steps back away from us.
We stared at each other in silence eye to eye and did not move a muscle. Until I saw his eyes glowing knowing some shit was about to happen as he removed his cloak from his body to release a yellow aura.
"It's been too long since our last fight." He said to use his strong aura to stagger me away as I felt my blue aura formed.
He began to charge straight towards me forming a fist, "You ready?"
I growled and charged straight to him with my fist raised, "Bring it on, bitch!"
Both of us aimed directly at our faces, that our rematch from the last fight was more intense than before. Hiei has gotten stronger since we were at the dark tournament. I have built up my strength during my training session with Genkai and defeating Toguru to increase my moving pattern and attacks. In the end, we decided that it was a draw knowing that our Spirit Energy has gotten stronger.
Hiei's arm was injured when his dragon was tied up. It was half-open covered in blood as he started to lick it. Gross.
"Well, that's mildly disgusting." I wrinkle my face in disgust watching him lick his blood.
"You rose to the challenge. It seems you haven't lost your Spirit Power." Hiei clarified by glancing up at me. "You just needed a kick in the ass."
I blinked a couple of times until I realized WHY we fought in the first place as I gritted my teeth.
"You mean you stalled me here just to see how strong I am?"
"You really are a simple child aren't you? You still don't get it."
He glanced at me stoically before spitting out the blood he licked off his arm.
"Do you remember when you fought Toguru in the tournament, and we let you think that Kuwabara had been killed?" He said bringing back the memories that happened at the Dark Tournament that we had to fight our way to beat his team and other opponents we'd had to face to win. "Back then, you lacked the motivation to reach your potential. And Toguru went out of his way to bring it out. Sensui just wants you dead."
He walks over to grab his cloak to slip on his body again and starts walking off glancing at me in the corner of his eye.
"Harness your own power if you want to beat him. If you take anything from the scrimmage, take that." Hiei said in bitterness as I didn't say anything. "So go-save the living world. Or don't. I don't really care." His tone was sharp and yet I can tell he was changing his phrase. "Either way I'm fine with the outcome."
I began to laugh as Hiei gave me a confused expression, "What are you laughing about?"
"You're so full of crap!" I laughed. "I don't care." I mimicked.
As I approached him he raised an eyebrow at me, "You've been rooting for me! You did all this to help me survive!" I said with a huge grin on my face. "I told everyone you would come back to rescue us when we needed you the most, you big softy" I started to laugh nonstop. "Or should I say, little softy!?"
'I should have slit your throat when I had the chance.' Hiei thought about forming a snarl across his face.
I stopped laughing, giving him a serious look, "Really, thank you, Hiei. I needed that kick in the ass."
My eyes glimpse at Hiei who walked by me, responding to a "Hn" grunting coming from him.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" I asked.
He stopped his tracks, glancing at me in the corner of his eye, "Now that your little secrets are out, there's no reason..." I let out a loud sigh. "Look, what I'm trying to say is that I could really use your help on this one. Kuwabara could really use your help on this one.
"But I hate Kuwabara." He dryly said as he faced away to continue walking ahead. "You do them one favor and they think you're their best friend. This is why I could care less if their entire species was swallowed up."
"What about Nezuko? I mean, she may not be a human, but at least she cares about you." I said in a low tone as he stopped his tracks.
"Why do I care?" He asked.
"...Because you care about her too, Hiei," I said with a small frown on my lips.
He was silent for a moment knowing that Nezuko was very important to her even if she wasn't a human, but was changed into a demon. She needed our help as much as Kuwabara. I could tell that the one thing Hiei grew closer to her was because when it was his turn to watch her I could tell something was in his eyes. It was a sign of something he couldn't describe to me or anyone.
"Hiei, at least tell me this." Tanjiro start. "What exactly do you have for Nezuko?"
He was silent, replying, "...I want to protect her at all costs without getting herself harmed. It's not safe and neither can I allow her to lose her life."
I walked over patting him on the shoulder, "Hey, don't overthink this too much. Nezuko just wanted to protect you and everyone else because she looks up to us as her family." I merely smiled as it fell when I saw the image of her popping into my head as I frowned.
"But we need your help to rescue them," Tanjiro spoke up.
"Why me?" He inquired.
"You are important to us and we need you since your our teammate. I'm not letting you slip away from us this time." Tanjiro says in a serious tone.
I saw a small glint in his eyes knowing that he was at least surprised to hear the words coming out of his mouth. I know he wants to save Nezuko and Kuwabara, then ends Sensui for good.
"Fine." He let out a huff.
"Good. I can interest you into something else too." I said scratching the back of my nape.
"And what would that be?" He asked as I glanced away from him after giving him a deal after we defeated Sensui and he agreed.
After Sniper had been taken down, Yusuke, Tanjiro, and Hiei had regrouped with others when they found themselves standing outside the cave. It was Sensui's secret hideout where he'd taken Nezuko and Kuwabara.
"I can't believe this happened. I let them take Kuwabara and Nezuko right out of my hands" Yusuke said, grinding his teeth and clenching his fist fire in his eyes as he glared down at the ground.
"I apologize for not rescuing her when I had the chance," Kurama said, lowering his head down in shame.
"It's not your fault," Yusuke reassured. "Sensui is one of the guys that we have to stop anyway and he could've to harm anyone besides us."
"Don't blame yourself for not rescuing them, Kurama. You tried your hardest." Tanjiro reassured.
"Before we proceed, let's go over what we know about our enemy." Kurama started. "We know that there were seven of them, to begin with. Yusuke took out Doctor."
"And I did away with Sniper," Hiei added.
"Yes. Seven minus two leaves five. And Mitarai's with us now which means just four!" Botan exclaimed.
"We know they'll head back to Demon's Door Cave. That's where we will go to intercept them and retrieve Kuwabara and Nezuko." Kurama stated.
"Oh, we're done sitting on our asses waiting patiently?" Yusuke says in sarcasm folded his arms over his chest with a slight frown across his lips.
"Stick a sock in it, you impulsive twit." Genkai sneered. "The tunnel opens in two days. Your sarcasm won't close it any faster."
"But that's four days earlier than our team in Spirit World was estimating!" Botan exclaimed.
Yanagisawa speaks up," Yeah, why do you keep moving up the deadline? It's like every day the tunnel's growing faster."
"When a psychic tampers with the sort of power Itsuki has, there is the tendency to be overpowered and lose control," Kurama said.
Mitarai was next to speak, "Now that you mention it, he did say it's going faster than he thought like the tunnel has its own life and wants to grow."
"Or, you could tell how fast it's growing just by looking at our fair city...well...once fair." Kaito implied to the others as he adjusted his glasses a little.
"All the more reason for us to storm the cave now before the gateway can expand any wider, especially now that they have Kuwabara and Nezuko," Tanjiro said.
As they discussed their plan to stop Sensui, Mitarai suggested they show them around the cave to search for Sensui's hideout. Hiei scowled at the psychic's thinking that they shouldn't trust him, but Mitarai said he is more indebted than Kuwabara is than anybody. Yusuke trusted him and Mitarai was going to be leading them inside of the cave to find Sensui, luckily Kurama was leading a trail of glowing flowers in case they ever got lost.
They found themselves at the part where Sensui's lair was somewhere behind a large door. It wasn't there as Mitarai said that it wasn't there before as far as he could remember it.
"Perhaps we took a wrong turn." Kurama implied.
"No, I'm sure of it! We've done everything right!" Mitarai assured. "This door is a new addition, I'd be willing to bet that absolutely nothing good can be lying behind it."
"Hm, that's odd. I know I've seen this door somewhere before. I just can't remember where." Yusuke said, trying to remember where he'd last seen that door.
Yusuke starts to think and remember where he saw the door, "Come on, give me a break. I've seen it recently, so it can't be the school gate." He tries again, "Why can't I figure this one out?" He pouted and had enough to get his brain all fired up, "Where the hell have I seen this damn door?"
"Welcome to Goblin City."
A narrative voice came from the door, the others were surprised that something or someone was doing this.
"Where your team of seven heroes must clash iron with the evil Goblin King, and restore peace to the town.
"That's peculiar," Kurama said.
"Oh yeah, of course!" Yusuke exclaimed. "I've seen it a million times! That's the gate to Goblin City!"
"Goblin City?" Hiei and Tanjiro inquired.
"A popular video game," Kurama said as Yusuke nodded.
"It's not just any video game! It's a video game." Yusuke starts off to explain the details about the games, "You've gotta kill the Goblin King who's like this master of every single game. But what's so sweet about it is that it combines all the different kinds of games into one: Sports, fighting, trivia, puzzles, and so on." Yusuke paused and continued explaining, "The king challenges you to different games at random, and you've gotta beat him at four out of seven to free Goblin City."
After he was done explaining he glanced back at the large door, "Of course that doesn't explain why it's come to life in a cave."
"I've been meaning to take Nezuko to the arcade some time. Just for her to get the experience to play with the other video games there." Yusuke said with a small grin on his face as Hiei didn't say anything about the human game.
"I would like to go. I never play any video games before, but it sounds fun." Tanjiro faintly smiled.
"Amanuma, he is the Game Master," Mitarai said.
"Welcome to my territory!" The Game Master known as Amanuma spoke through the door loud and clear for everyone to hear.
Mitarai scowls, "Oh yeah, that's him alright."
"The rules of the game are the rules of my territory, and the rules of my territory are the rules of the game." Ananuma clarified.
"If his territory is the game, then we can't even enter that door unless we fit into the game somehow." Mitarai said to the others as he sighed, "And unfortunately we have to go through there if we want to get to where Itsuki is and save Mr. Kuwabara and Eri from Gourmet."
"Does fitting in mean we gotta dress up as medieval knights?" Yusuke inquired in sarcasm. " 'Cause I left my breast shield in my closet."
"I can't see how many players there are out there, but your team must have seven heroes to clash iron with me," Amanuma said.
"We got enough heroes to beat you four times outta seven!" Yusuke exclaimed.
"The rules say 'Seven'!" Amanuma shouted.
"We have no choice but to follow every guideline," Mitarai said, facing his direction at Yusuke. "That's the only way we're gonna get through that door."
"Yes, it doesn't seem he's going to be very flexible with the rules. We are a party of seven," Kurama said, agreeing with Mitarai's statement.
"Seven!" Amanuma shouted. "There must be seven heroes to clash iron with me."
"Shut up!" Yusuke shouted.
"They must have guessed we'd be cautious and enter in a small group at first, and designed this to us all in here together," Kurama said.
"I'll just follow your light things and run back to get three from the outside," Yusuke said.
"It's too dangerous for you to go alone. We lose precious time, but it's not as though we can move any further." Kurama let out a small groan.
"Crap."
The others went back to retrieve the three: Genkai, Kaito, and Yanagisawa to participate in the Goblin City game that came in real life. Once they had all seven, the door opened as Amanuma who was sitting in the chair was dressed up as the Goblin King. They each picked the best players to play the game one of them remained except for Kaito who was defeated by Amanuma. Hiei tried to destroy the game, but when he tried to slice the game it was back in one piece with no scratches. It could play forever, he said. There was only one chance of winning this final round, and Kurama had to step in to take him down. The little boy was hesitant when they talked that he soon realized that he wasn't going to win because all of this time he thought Sensui granted him a perfect life where he could live his own way. Sadly, it wasn't true, and so Kurama won as for Amanuma he had lost the game and died. Deep down Kurama felt pain hit his chest after what he did to the poor boy. This wasn't the first time he killed a child. The remainder of what was left of Amanuma was to make him wake up and see what Sensui had plans to use him to stall time while they worked on getting the gate open. But, the team kept going only to let Genkai, Kaito, and Yanagisawa return up to the surface safely, so they could finally rescue Kuwabara and Tanjiro.
