Meg waited for what had to be two hours. She was almost convinced that Christine had just said that so she could hang up without feeling bad.

However, just as she was about to give up, a taxi stopped right by the side of the road. Christine must've agreed to pay extra in order to get the driver to do that.

The back door is pushed open by Christine and she gestures for her to join her without looking at her.

Somehow Christine not wanting to look at her just makes everything worse. That wasn't something she would've thought possible.

Things had were bad enough after the fall out from the kiss, but this was just agitating an already weakened relationship.

Meg shook the thoughts off and slid inside, pulling the door shut behind her. She fiddled with her fingers quietly, waiting for the driver to pull off. But he didn't.

"Where to now, Mademoiselles?" He questioned, arching a brow as he peered at them through the mirror.

Christine shrugged and looked towards her. Her eyes were soft despite the annoyed line that her lips were held in.

Meg realized that she was leaving it up to her and took a deep breath, considering her choices.

She could either go home and deal with a long, long lecture that she wasn't ready for.

She knew she sort of deserved it but that didn't mean she liked the idea of receiving it.

Handling whatever this mess was between her and Christine was much more appealing at the moment. Even if it would inevitably be incredibly awkward once they were alone.

Presuming Christine didn't just go and kick her out of the hotel room once they were alone.

That was always a big possibly and Meg couldn't blame her. Not after his she'd treated her while drunk.

"Back to the hotel? I really don't want to deal with mama right now, Chrissy." Meg found herself imploring lightly.

Christine remained painfully silent a few moments afterwards, it made her more nervous than anything else had lately. Even with her stupid ass mistake.

"Alright. We need to sit down and have a long talk anyway." Christine agreed keeping her tone neutral.

She nodded at the driver and he pulled off. The drive remained silent after that, somehow becoming more tense than it was.

Once they arrived, she was the first to hop out while Christine paid. The taller woman slammed the door shut behind her.

She walked past her like she didn't exist and she rushed after her. She wanted to remain close after all. Just in case her friend had only been saying that to appease both herself and the driver.

Before he got so agitated that he kicked both of them out. It was a possibility. No one wanted to wait forever for an answer after all.

"So... Do you actually like me, Meg? Because it's rather hard to believe when you run off and find someone else so soon after our conversation." Christine stated coolly.

Fuck. She'd forgotten how bad that would look.
