Adora paused and took one last look at Catra as she walked back to the truck with Kywa. It took all of her strength not to run back out there and just pick her up and carry her back onto the ship. She sighed to herself because she knew Catra wouldn't want that, she was happy that Catra had found her true family.
As the doors closed behind her, Adora made her way to the window hoping to see one last glance but the truck was already leaving. She really didn't want to leave Purrsia, but she knew Catra would be well looked after until she returned.
Bow and Glimmer were chatting about going back home to Brightmoon first, but Adora wasn't paying attention. She went and sat on the windowsill as the ship took off and watched closely as the ship ascended above the forest until it was so small it looked like it popped out of existence.
Adora lost track of time as she continued to stare out the window and watched the stars change and shift colours as they passed. Eventually, Glimmer came and said it was time to eat, Adora wasn't feeling particularly hungry but she decided to make the effort to go sit down at the table, she stared blankly at the food in front of her, and even though it looked delicious their supplies were from Purrsia so all it did was remind her that Catra wasn't there.
Glimmer watched as Adora aimlessly pushed around the food on her plate. Adora had only taken a few bites but Glimmer could tell leaving Catra behind was taking a toll. She put her hand on top of Adora's and was met with sad and tired eyes.
"Adora, why don't you go and rest",
Adora looked back down at her plate, "I feel bad for not eating this"
Glimmer shakes her head, "It's fine we've got enough supplies to last until we get home, but you do look like you could use a rest".
Adora sighs as she gets up from the table, "maybe you're right. Thanks".
Adora gets up and leaves without saying another word. Bow looked at Glimmer with a worried look on his face,
"I haven't seen Adora like this in a long time, do you think she'll be ok?",
"I hope so", Glimmer looks to make sure Adora is gone, "It's not the first time she's left Catra so…",
"Come on Glimmer, you know this time is way different"
"True, I don't know what we can do"
Bow gets up from the table and starts yawning, "Well that can be tomorrow's problem"
Glimmer gets up and starts clearing away the table, "Ok you go, I'll join you in a minute",
Bow stretches and shakes his head trying to relieve his tiredness as he sits down in the pilot seat, he starts yawning again as he presses a few buttons and puts the ship on autopilot,
"There we go, all set", he stretches as he gets out of the chair and leaves the room. The autopilot light blinks,
"Please confirm the current autopilot course, Etheria", came Darla's disembodied voice.
Darla's voice echoes around the empty room, she repeats the question. Once again the question goes unanswered.
"Autopilot course not confirmed, setting course for origin-destination".
Darla brings up a map and zooms in on a planet, the words underneath writing in First Ones language spell the word "Eternia".
