Tales of Demiyah Oliver Book 2: Sailor Moon
The Sailor Moon stuff starts in late summer/early fall and in the story it is now October. The Procedure Demiyah was scheduled for was done 'off screen' and won't really come up. This is a breather chapter that shows the Oliver/Motomiya family dynamic and shows some fall traditions they have. Also kudos to anyone who recognizes the song in the chapter.
Chapter 10: Oliver Family Day:
Demiyah woke up later than usual on a Thursday. Normally, she would blitz through her room to get ready but it was fall break and she didn't have to go to school until Wednesday. Fall break was only thursday and friday. But the following Monday and tuesday were scheduled System Matinence Days. They have scheduled days every couple of months to update the different security and educational programs so Students get the two days off. Teachers who aren't computer specialists are given two paid days off and certain medical facilities such as Dental offices are shut down for the first day. That particular Thursday the Oliver Family was going out into town. They had a tradition of going shopping at Halloween and party stores every year. Denki was confused last year about the tradition. Then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they went to an anime convention that was three days. They went so Demiyah could have her fun buying Pokemon and Magical Girl merch. Kimberly was a fan of Gundam/Mecha series while Tommy was more into Occult/Horror series. It was odd, but the whole thing just worked. That day Demiyah had a Pokemon t-shirt that had Ash and Pikachu on it, pink denim shorts, white socks, pink sneakers, her blue ribbon, and her normal jewelry/accessories. She came down the stairs to find chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, shredded carrots, mini sausages, some strawberry filled pastries, juice, blueberries, and a yogurt parfait. She sat at the table and filled her plate.
Demiyah was happily chewing her food when Denki asked, "What's with the new diet?" Kim said, "Her powers are growing so when she went for a check up a couple weeks ago Dana suggested we tweak her diet to better handle the new changes. We need to take you to see Dana next Friday for a check up Denki. With the fact your Teleportation is settling more and letting you go farther we may need to tweak your diet as well." Denki nodded conceeding her point and continued eating. Tommy once the breakfast dishes were done said, "So I was thinking we head to Spirit Halloween first. Then hit the Crows Nest halloween store after. Then we can go to the Halloween Bootique in Reefside Mall and grab lunch at the Food Court there. We can stop at two other stores each in the Mall before heading to Party City, Maya's Party Emporium, and Zurchers after lunch. Then we'll hit Target and Walmart for their Halloween sections. As a treat we'll even pop by the video game place and multi media place to buy some new Halloween movies. If I heard right we may find Night Ghoulery and Toons From The Crypt on a special edition DVD. We can get some take out for dinner and watch movies. This a sound plan?"
Demiyah made sure she had her expense card in her wallet, some cash money, and her purse. Her purse was a pumpkin and looked so cute! In the van they had when they went grocery shopping or restocking the lair infirmary/communal food storage the family of five went into town. Natsumi said, "What sort of costumes are we buying?" Kimberly said, "We've had this tradition even when Tommy and I were first married. It was something that started after we became Rangers with our team. It was so we could find costumes of our colors at first. Then we ended up buying things we never used until a little later in life. Mostly things like crystal balls, altar cloths, and the like for me since in college I became a practicing wiccan. Tommy still practices the Native American style shaminism his grandpa Sam Trueheart taught him. Demiyah she doesn't have a set religion. But visits different places of worship. Since she prefers not to offend anyone. More often than not she swears to the Cosmos. Lunarian trait, I asked Artemis about it. I did need a new chalice for my altar and maybe a new hourglass as my old one was destroyed when Zeltrax trashed the lair. Oh by the way Tommy, I need to pop into the pagan shop in town while we're out and about. I need more sweetgrass and I promised Demiyah I'd take her to get her first altar set up. Denki was getting his protection amulet I ordered from there."
The first place was indeed the pagan shop. Natsumi was looking around and decided to get a few books. It looked fantasitcal to her as she watched her daughter and surrogate sister shop. Leaving the store they went to Spirit Halloween. Demiyah found several fun costumes. Along with just random things she wanted. They then repeated the same at the other Halloween store and party stores. The second they hit the mall Demiyah picked the toy store in the mall and the Hot Topic for the fact they had such cool stuff. Denki picked Asian Gifts and Barnes and Noble. Demiyah exited her choices laden with anime stuff and lots of stuffed toys. Denki having almost as much when they left his chosen stores.
Lunch was whatever they chose in the food court. Demiyah had Greek food while Denki picked Tex Mex. Tommy and Kimberly went with Chinese and Natsumi ended buying some pretzel dogs and fries. They also ended up buying cake pops from a Starbucks in the mall.
They hit the last of the stores and were about to go into the movie store when Caroline marched up with a cop. The thing was though Demiyah knew Catherine from Mina. Demiyah said, "Miss Catherine, you do know Caroline is violating a permenant restraining order and was charged with attempted murder?" Catherine asked interested, "Who was the victim?" Demiyah replied, "I was and to top it off I was only five years old at the time. She also kidnapped me forcing me to get the illgeal mutant cure when she knew I was allergic to three out of the five components. I spent a week in an Alpha Operations Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. High Risk section too. She's also kidnapped me to force braces that are mind control devices on me on ten seperate occasions." Catherine turned around and cuffed Caroline leading her to her car. Kim asked when they left, "How did you pull that off?" Demiyah said, "That was Catherine she's a friend of Mina's from when she was active as Sailor V. She is also a part time member of the Supernatural Investigation Unit run by Natalie Samuels. She changed her name to get away from her older sister Haruna Sakurada in Japan. Haruna was trying to make her take an arranged marriage to one of the more deplorable Yakuza families. She moved here and changed her name working while attending the Police Academy in New Tech."
Demiyah was in her happy place buying not only movies but the latest Pokemon video games and the consoles to play them. It was awesome to play the games. She couldn't wait for when she got the chance to travel to the Pokemon world. Though Demiyah was certain it wouldn't happen until she was older. She made sure to find some good movies too. She actually found a DVD of Mickey's House of Villains.
Going home they got some Hawaiian food along with some snacks and drinks and went home. They were enjoying watching the movies they picked and packed what they needed for the Anime Convention the next day. Each had a backpack with snacks, water bottles, any meds they needed, and would have a custom packed lunch Kim made when they came home from shopping. She packed each lunch according to dietary needs, food preferences, any food allergies, or food aversion due to either medical or psychological issues.

By the end of the Convention Demiyah was laden with Pokemon Merch finally finding a Torchic plush! It was a special one you could put a warmer bag in and hug it. Exactly like the Pokedex said!
Demiyah was walking down the forest path humming a tune fitting for the Season. It was This Is Halloween. Since Halloween was right around the corner. Demiyah actually convinced her mom to make her a Pokemon costume. Denki was going to be Pikachu. Her dad would dress up as Ash while her mom dressed up as Professor Ivy. Demiyah would be dressing up as Mew she found the pink cat Pokemon adorable!
After a few moments Demiyah started humming a different tune. Before singing the song out loud.

Demiyah would admit to liking movies about girls toys. There were some movies she wouldn't touch with any length of pole though. Horror movies for example. Her dad watched them though. Her Mama did on occasion but preferred Comedy and the occasional RomCom. Kim's tastes sat firmly in Scifi and movies like Legally Blonde. Empowering young girls to where they can do anything. Demiyah was more animation and fantasy movies. Which was why she loved the Lord of The Rings series. Would she read the books? Of course. Would she watch the movies? From time to time. Would she ever do a Lord of The Rings LARP? Not a chance! She went Isengard once by accident before Beryl attacked Reefside. She would never go on a quest with Gandalf again! Not even a cosplayer of Gandalf. Once was enough for her!
Demiyah was walking back to her house when she heard whimpering. She saw a little boy and was that a Pokemon? If so, it wasn't a Pokemon she had ever seen before! She said, "Hey are you okay?" The boy looked at her with golden eyes and said, "Who are you?" Demiyah said, "I'm Demiyah Oliver. Who are you?" The boy said, "I'm Hop Williams! This is my Pokemon buddy Wooloo." He pointed to the sheep. Demiyah petted Wooloo who bleated in happiness. The two walked back to her house. Hop and Wooloo both took the fact they were in a different dimension very well. Artemis rubbed up against Hop and let a beam of golden light awaken Hop's Silver Millennium memories. Hop said, "I'm glad I remember Serena. I promise I'll keep working hard so when the time comes, I can stand by your side. I really hope you can Princess Hana, Sailor Saturn soon. I miss her." Demiyah said, "We have a lead and we're checking it out next weekend." Hop said, "Sailor Pluto will probably take me home before then. I wish I could be here too."
Demiyah took Hop to the Lair and opened a secret compartment which held a set of Morphers she had been developing since she got her Scout powers during her Time Travel Mission. Project Cosmic Storm. A Ranger team based on the Planets in case the Scouts were reborn as male or somehow lost the ability to transform due to a curse. Thankfully, that hasn't happened yet. Something compelled her to make Two Moon based Morphers a pink Morpher and a Silver Morpher. She kept the pink Morpher for just in case. She put the Silver Morpher on Hop's wrist and taught him how to activate it, deactivate it, and how to hide it from the people who didn't know. From what little Hop told her about this Chairman Rose guy, she didn't trust him. Her instincts were screaming at her in ways that only flared up with Diomedes or one of his allies.
After Dinner Hop spent the night and learned how to use the teleporter function to get to Demiyah's world. She also taught Hop how to use the Communicator function so they could talk to each other. Trista took Hop and Wooloo home the next day. Demiyah was sad to see Haven's reincarnation leave but knew she could stay in touch. Plus it gave her even more determination to defeat Beryl and later on Diomedes!
