ASTROLOGISTS ARE SCARY

Day two of investigating Venti this weekend dawned grey and stormy. Like most days in Mondstadt recently. Lutsen was entering the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, today he was going to ask around the knights. Most of them… Not Jean. Jean was obviously close to him. She might take that how Diluc had taken it. .

So he asked everyone else. Here's what they said:

Info from Kaeya: "Venti? You should really ask my brother. But sure, I know things about him. What would you like to know? And on the same thread, how much are you willing to pay for the information?

Amber: "The bard? He's wonderful at gliding. Sometimes it's as if he doesn't even need the wind glider! Hmm… I'm not sure he has a license though. *Sigh* Why do people never follow the rules?"

Lisa: "Oh yes I know him. He's been in Mondstadt for a few years now. He's quite interesting at parties. And I believe all of Mondstadt agrees with me. Well if you want to know more about him, I suppose you could research the origins of the songs he sings. Here, let me show you the books on music history. Who knows, maybe you'll find something enlightening"

Eula: "The bard has always been very kind. He does not seem to care about my lineage. He

has given me many reasons for vengeance. The list is longer than even dear Amber's. One day, I will learn how he has discovered my family's secrets. Until then however, I have no quarrel with him."

Albedo: "Yes I know Venti. I have long been interested in the exact way he colors his hair. Is it a dye compound? Such as lamp grass or mist flower? Or is it a genetic mutation, something Venti naturally has? Hmm, well no matter, I will unlock his secrets eventually."

Rosaria: "I'm not a knight, don't include me in your foolish little plan."

Noell: "Venti? He doesn't ever have anything for me to do, he's always telling me to take a break and relax. I do very much like his music though. Miss Lumine says it's "worthy of the gods". I'm inclined to agree with her.

Sucrose: Venti is so chaotic… It's a wonder Mister Albedo even lets him into the lab at all, much less every Tuesday. I only wish I knew what they were doing in there… the knowledge to be gained~ *sigh* I suppose I'll just have to hope they invite me in one day."

Bennett: Oh hey Lutsen! Heh, I'm here because I came to apply for a gliding permit! I think I'll actually get it this time! Oh, Venti? He's so nice! Whenever he comes on adventures with me I never get hurt! It's almost like he's an anti bad luck charm! If only I had one of those to carry around…"

Barbara: "Well, I'm in a bit of a hurry to leave, so I'm sorry I can't say much. But I think Venti is on a path to redemption! Sister Rosaria thinks I'm wrong though. She says Venti would have no chance even if Lord Barbatos descended from the heavens."

Klee: "Lutsen! Lutsen! Klee wants to go fish blasting~! (He kinda maybe sorta didn't get a chance to ask about Venti.)

Mona: You should have come to me first, fool boy. Venti is quite the enigma, here let me tell you what I know. He is- aaaagh! This wind! I'm sorry, I can't, meet me at the front gates tonight! My hat! No, no! I thought the winds were supposed to be gentle heeere!

;

And that was all the questioning he got through before he got distracted by the offer of food from Diona. He had bonded with her over general dislike of Venti. While her hatred stemmed from the bard's love of alcohol, and his just from the man's strangeness, the two got along very well. They often went to Good Hunter to eat together and watch the strange going ons of Mondstadt.

When night fell, Lutsen parted ways with Diona and went to meet Mona. She was sitting on the edge of the bridge, within shouting distance of the guards, but outside normal speaking earshot. How Lutsen knew this, he wasn't sure. Maybe those lessons Amber gave him were finally starting to sink in. When he walked up to her she got right to business.

"I have tried to view the Bard's constellation, and while I can find it in the sky, if I try to view it it appears murky and undefined. This leads me to believe that something, or somebody, is obscuring it. When I was taught astrology, I learned that only the twin gods of the stars could tamper with the sky like this. This leads me to think that Venti has some connection with these gods. I have heard stories of an ancient city ruled by these twins. I want to go there. But for now I must warn you, be careful of Venti. To win a god's favor is not an easy task. And he has the Anemo Archons favor as well.

;

On that happy note, Mona stood up and left. Leaving Lutsen just a little confused. He had STARTED the day investigating Venti, and ENDED the day being warned to stay away like Venti was a criminal. Instead of getting the message, Lutsen was now even more interested. Who were these twin gods Mona had spoken of? How had a bard like Venti gotten their attention? Unfortunately he had to go back to training with Amber tomorrow, or he would have found a way to get even more information. He didn't have the time he wanted for his project. But he could wait a few days until he got another break. It was time to go back to focusing on his job.

His training had been progressing very nicely. Amber had recently told him she was expecting him to be given a promotion. To be a knight soon. He was excited, this would be a nearly record breaking time to complete training. He wasn't sure he was ready, but he was fully willing to start taking on more duties.
