Inside they saw a large room that looked like a library, and Nemona waiting.
"Here we are Chloe, Ashley. Welcome to Uva Academy!" Nemona said, "this here's the entrance hall! You can sign up for as ll kinds of classes at the desk behind me, and those halls off to the sides lead to all different parts of the school. It's totally big enough to let loose and battle in here, but for some reason, they banned pokemon battling in the main entrance..."
"Miss Chloe, Miss Ashley, Miss Nemona," Director Clavell said walking up. "How did you find your first school commute?"
"It was long, but we had fun," Chloe said.
"I imagine Miss Nemona's high spirits helped with that. She's a true asset to our fine academy." Director Clavell said, "not that I was expecting any less from our Champion-Ranked student council president. Reliable as ever Miss Nemona."
"You're a Champion!/Zor zor Zora!" Chloe and Ashley said in shock.
"Yeah, why?" Nemona asked.
"Ah that is right, you are not from Paldea." Directir Clavell said before explaining. "Here in Paldea, once you get all eight gym badges you can take the Champion Assessment Test. Starting with an interview, then facing the Elite four and top champion. If you win, you gain the Champion Rank. Of course the top ranked champion is not capable of holding back to name the lesser champions, so her primary team is replaced with a weaker team of the same species. Though still powerful enough to be the test for champion rank. Thus multiple people can be champion rank, which helps with problems elsewhere despite how big the region is."
"Speaking of problems…" Nemona said. "We saw some of those Team Star kids in town, Director."
"You did?! Where?" Director Clavell asked.
"It was down the stairs from the front gates," Nemona explained, "they were hassling this kid with an Eevee backpack..."
"That is quite the news," Director Clavell said, "are they still to be found out there?"
"Actually, Chloe and Ashley flexed and scared em off." Nemona said.
"Well considering what I recently learned about your situation that makes sense," Director Clavell said, "but you might wish to show a bit of restraint as you find your feet at our academy. And miss Nemona, please remember that the school's staff is here to resolve any such troubles."
"Uh, yes sir, director!" Nemona said.
"A child with an Eevee backpack," Director Clavell said, "I suppose that must have been Miss Penny. I'm relieved to hear she came to class at least. Ah, and Miss Nemona? If you'd be so good, please report to Mr. Jacq about this Team Star business."
"You got it, sir." Nemona said.
"Ah, but look at the time." Director Clavell said, "classes will be starting soon. Miss Ashley, Miss Chloe, I will take you to your classes."
"Right," Nemona said as Ashley and Chloe followed Director Clavell.
"This is your homeroom, Miss Chloe," Director Clavell said at one room. "Your homeroom teacher is Mr. Saguaro."
"Thank you," Chloe said, as Director Clavell led Ashley to her homeroom.
"And this is your homeroom with Ms. Tyme," Director Clavell said. "Oh yes… before I forget… if you want help with your language skills, we do have a language teacher Mr. Salvatore."
"…Thank… you…" Ashley said as she entered the class. "…Hello… I… am… Ashley… nice… to… meet… you."
"Is that a talking Zorua in the school uniform with a skirt?" one student asked.
"Why yes she is," Ms. Tyme said, "she was a student at another school before transferring here. As for the skirt, her body shape means pants are a bad idea. And yes, she is also a trainer like everyone at the academy."
"How did she get enrolled there?" another student asked.
"…Illusions…" Ashley said.
"Why didn't you use them here?" the student questioned, causing Ashley to sigh, clearly not happy.
"Um… if you want… I can answer that so you don't have to," a familiar voice said as Ashley saw Penny next to an open seat
"You know her, Penny?" Ms. Tyme said.
"She and another girl helped me out on my way here and the girl told me what happened," Penny said before looking at Ashley and getting a nod explaining why Ashley couldn't use illusions anymore.
"I'm so sorry about that," Ms. Tyme said, "no more questions. Ashley since you know her you can sit next to Ashley.
"…Thanks…" Ashley said after getting her seat.
"…You're welcome," Penny said as they paid attention to the teacher, as the homeroom ended.
Ashley then met up with Chloe and explored the school. Meeting Nemona and having her try to convince them to take the gym challenge instead of the contest track, which their first class was a few days away, even downloading the gym locations to their Rotom phones. They also met Arven again, who mentioned looking for Herba Mystica, which could help heal Pokémon. Though nothing he mentioned included repairing damaged organs. So it was probably not helpful to Ashley. He did however mark their Rotom phones with places they were said to be found. Each a different type then the gyms.
As they were leaving the cafeteria, they got a phone call.
"This is Ashley and Chloe correct," their phones said with a voice that was familiar to Ashley, but just different enough she could not identify it. "I hacked your smartphones so I could talk to you two. I hope you don't mind."
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Chloe asked.
"My name's Cassiopeia," the voice said, "but never mind that-it's you two I want to talk about. I heard that you two drove off Team Star earlier, and with ease. If that is accurate, then there is something I would like to ask of you two. Team Star is a group of troublemakers formed by some academy students awhile back… they cause headaches for the school, and try to bring students down to their level. And I refuse to sit idly by and let them get away with it. So I've come up with a plan to bring down team star, and force them to disband for good."
"…I'll… help!" Ashley interrupted.
"Sorry about that," Chloe sighed, "she has bad experiences with groups with the word Team in it. The ones she has met are criminal groups with most of them trying to rule the world by force, so she really wants to stop anyone with the word team in their name."
"….I see…" Cassiopeia said. "The plan is called Operation Starfall. But while Ashley has already made her decision, you should still think about it more, Chloe. We can discuss the details another time, give you time to decide. Till next time."
After passing Director Clavell who suggested they be quieter when the phone conversations aren't overheard, they explored some more until getting called to the directors office where they had a video call with Professor Turo, and learned that Ashley's student ID number was 803B121, while Chloe's 804D483. The professor wanted to ask Ashley, and Chloe, but mostly Ashley, to take care of Miraidon, who used to be his. After the meeting Nemona took them to their shared dorm room, and left them to sleep after a long day.
