Sorry for my Bad English.
I'm with those who are waiting a week for the next episode and my thoughts so far, it is going well.
Naturally started with some action already but also start with some tragedies already. Not want to give spoiler to those who decide to wait until the season is over to watch. I'm glad that also nothing happened to give some bad criticism toward the show already like happened with the last season but is only the beginning but my hopes are already high.
The young Ceodore was with his mouth and eyes wide open after witness what his master just did.
Miles swung down Star Ocean and from the black blade come a huge grey arc of pure aura what cut all in it way and disappearing on the sky above.
-M-m-m-master! What was that?! It was so cool!
-Calm down your nerves Ceodore. Most huntsmen doesn't know the full potential their auras have.
-You mean that anyone who have the aura unlocked can do this awesome attack?
-Precisely.
-And you gonna teach me how to do it?
-Why do you think I just show you this technique?
Ceodore started to jump all around his master, blabbering something about learn the coolest attack ever and about how awesome is. Miles just grabbed him by the hood of his shirt to make him stop.
-When we begin? –Ceodore asked.
-Immediately.
-You know I love you, right master?
-Yeah, you already said that.
Miles put Ceodore on the floor and started to teach him how to shot from a blade an arc of aura. Ceodore did not know at the time how ironic was the name.
Abandoned Dust Mine
The mine was full of activity. Something anyone would not expect from an abandoned place. Since the mine was out of dust make years now, it makes the perfect place for the White Fang hide and conducting their experiments.
Fido walks through the mine with destination to the little lab what was put there so he could study miasma without any type of distraction.
The bad part is he need to ask Neo to teleport him to there.
After their little celebration, some of his allies of the terrorist group could see that he was walking in a way different from the normal. Fido just ignored them as some of his thoughts were in his night with Neo.
-How come a tiny girl can bend her body like that?
He opened the door of the lab and expected the place to be empty, except for the lone figure with white flowing hair standing in front of his desk. The girl had her eyes covered with the mask and behind her two big blades. His eyes widened at the sight of the woman.
-Take it all and let's go. –The woman said.
-To where?
-I said let's go. –She said in low voice and Fido quickly nodded, not wanting to anger the wolf faunus.
She left the room to wait Fido end pack all the experiments but wonder why her presence in the place.
The first mission.
This is something every student from Beacon or another academy wait in their school year. However, Ceodore was not feeling like one of them.
His first mission has to involve miasma. Being the only one with knowledge in the subject, he was send among his team to a place where some specialists believed to be one of the secret headquarters of the White Fang. After what happened in Vale, find the White Fang become a huge priority.
With Miasma Dust in their hands, it is hard and frightening to think in what the terrorist group could make with such terrible component.
Ceodore himself have to worry about the mission for personal reasons. He knew that he could count on Pyrrha to guard his back and Nora would surely help him if he need but the last member of his team was another history.
Ren keep being cold towards Ceodore for what he did to his father. So far Ceodore's relationship with Ren is just professional. They are teammates, nothing more than that. Ceodore was glad to make so many friends in the academy and thought that even his teammates would not stand his presence. Fortunately only one of his teammates is like that.
He hopes to get better with time.
There also some of his friends with team RWBY. Like with his own team, one of them was not so opens minded about him. While Yang agreed in let Ruby continuing to be his friend, she still not fully trusting Ceodore.
There is also the team he meets after the battle in Vale, and they seemed to accept very easy Ceodore's presence. This actually made him curious about why. Normally, people have to meet Ceodore first before make a judgment about his person, with only a few exceptions like Pyrrha.
CFVY on the other side, they were very nice to Ceodore despite being the apprentice of the Dark Knight.
Of course, he cannot forget about the teacher in charge of the mission. His first encounter with Glynda was not the best but was not the worst compared with his previous encounters with professional huntsmens or bandits. After a while, the teachers starts to treat him equally as she would treat another of her students.
-Attention students. –Speaking of the devil, the blonde teacher appeared getting the attention of both teams. By her side was the blind samurai of Beacon. –We are approaching our destiny, which is an abandoned dust mine that some specialist believed to be a headquarters for the White Fang.
Ceodore actually thought it would be better if let more experienced hunstmens take care of this situation.
Ceodore look at Blake and wonders what is going on in her mind. For some reason, she seemed with her mood down since the invasion. Would be fear in face Miasma Grimms, perhaps?
The truth is that Blake was worried with the future of her kind. The White Fang now was dealing with miasma and good part of her kind would have a tragic end because of the evil energy. She wanted to ask Ceodore for help but there a lot of counters in doing that.
First he would question her reason to help the terrorist group and she would have to reveal her secret for him, and while he was nice with her she did not know how he would react about her being a faunus.
Second she did not know if he was willing to help the White Fang, a group of pacifist protestant who became a terrorist group and were the responsible for releasing the Miasma Grimms in Vale.
Third she actually did not know exactly what to ask. Miasma was always a sensible subject to Ceodore talk about, and she felt he would not reveal deep information about the energy infused in his body.
Blake was not the only one who was able to hide her worries from the group. Miasma also was something sensible for Glynda to speak about since the infection of her father.
When she meet the apprentice, her reaction was not likely of her. She normally threat everything with calm and composure but once she heard Ceodore's name, all her self-control went to zero.
She was always thankful that her father survive the infection but then, she discovered not too long that he, along a little group of people, have something that actually make him survive miasma, and this may be something else for the militaries of Atlas want his body to study once he pass away.
Glynda would protest of course, her father on the other side would gladly give what he left in this world as long it helps discover how to save people from miasma infection, and the fact he is on an advanced age means he may lay down forever on the next day.
Just the thought terrified her.
She wanted to ask a few question to the apprentice but she already she has already intruded too much into the young knight's life, not to mention she knows that he prohibited him from speak too much about miasma.
The bullhead landing on the abandoned town got her and Blake out of their thoughts.
The mission officially started.
It did not took too long for them reach their destination. The entrance of the mines seemed like no one entered there make sometime already. Except for the fact there's nothing blocking the entrance, meaning that something was walking around the mines.
-Fernando. –Glynda called the blind man.
-There some activity down there.
-How much?
-They are in hurry to leave. That's for sure. There's also two separated ways to go down there.
-Alright then. Let's split up and go each one in one direction.
-We want to go with Mr. Minuano! –Ruby surprised both professors shouting.
The truth is, they like Glynda as a teacher but they just love Fernando. Glynda just sighed while Fernando scratches the back of his head.
-Fine then. I will accompany CNVL. –Glynda said as she turns to the team.
She also notice for a fraction of second Ceodore's face looking betrayed to Ruby for a moment before went blank, trying to hide the fact that he, along his teammates, wanted to go with Fernando too.
She didn't mind at all. Glynda knew she would not win a popularity contest.
With that settle, both professors and teams went deep in the mine after the White Fang, and any Miasma Dust they find.
Atlas
Missions involving Miasma was always something to be taken on the most calm and collected as possible. Miasma was almost being the most dangerous thing in Remnant, almost surpassing the grimms.
Winter knew that and the thought made her worry.
First general Dragoon was hiding miasma from his superiors and friends, now a body of a man infected with miasma? How long he went to try get rid of miasma from Remnant?
-I know you had your reasons but this… -Winter said as if he was listening.
She remember when she meet general Dragoon, how much he seemed someone who deserved respect and the post he was currently in charge, and to think someone like him let miasma corrupt him to the point of lying about the body of Solaire Arc.
-Commander. –The child of Dr. Polendina called her. –We reach the localization given by general Ironwood, and we are ready to land.
-Right. –Winter left her seat and walked to the front of the small group sent to retrieve the body of the last man of the Arc family. –Attention troops. Our objective this time is to retrieve something general Dragoon was kept away from his fellow generals and superiors. I'm not gonna lie. It is a dead body. A body of a man who once… -The cough of one of the soldiers interrupted her and called her attention and the other soldiers. –Are you okay, soldier.
-I'm fine commander. It is just a cold.
-Next time open your mouth to speak about your health. You don't need to push yourself so much.
-Yes commander.
With everything cleared, the small group of soldiers led by Winter enter in the abandoned base looking for the missing body of Solaire Arc, infected with miasma.
End of the chapter.
The chapter was a bit short but it just to prepare the next chapter for some more action.
Also, I'm so sorry to hear that the man who created some of my favorite heroes just passed away. The One Above All of the Marvel Comics now are with our One Above all who I know received him with his arms open.
