Sorry for my bad English.
RWBY volume 6 it is over. My opinion?
The beginning was Awesome! But the end was meh...
I know that a lot of people enjoyed the volume but I could only enjoy the beginning and without mean disrespect to the Arkos or Pyrrha fans but I think the plot start to go backwards when the statue showed. Not to mention that we have another lost on the volume 6, a someone who was been around for a while and nobody showed her respect after her sacrifice.
Rest in peace Bumblebee, you will be missed. And yeah, I call it her, sue me.
The plot is still good but it seems the writers doesn't know how to build a scene and this is show since the end of volume 3. I felt bad for Pyrrha's death but what really bothered me is how they build the whole scenario resulting in a misused Power Up formula.
You know, make a character awaken a hidden power after seeing someone dear die in front of him or her. If they wanted to make Ruby awake the power of her eyes, they could have done it when Penny died, she was a dear friend of hers, right?
I know that being only a fanfiction writer I do not have much right to say how they should do the story left for them by Monty, but I would like the authors to put more thought into the work they are presenting to us.
I've heard rumors that Monty had already planned at least twenty volumes, so everything that's happened has long been planned, but it does not seem to have been done properly. The last full episode of Volume 6 looks like it was made just for Ruby to use the power of her eyes. Okay, she needed to learn and her memoirs shown in drawings were great, but I would love to have seen a fight between a giant robot and a giant grimm.
Some may agree and others not. This line of thought may affect my writing a little since I'm trying to build the scenes the best way I can, and of course there will be times I will fail but this also will help me to improve my writing.
I think I write enough about my thoughts.
To the fic!
-Master. -The young Ceodore called while walking along Miles.
-What?
-Why did you named me Ceodore?
-I remember already explaining to you.
-I know. What I mean is why you not named me after a color or something like that?
-Because this idea of individualism is ridiculous. Name someone after a color in a way to demonstrate refusing oppression is dumb since anyone can self express through their own actions, this being art or anything else. Ceodore is just a name, it is not like will represent some type of to support tyranny unless your actions shows that.
As always, Miles just have his own point of view about everything. This made Ceodore wonder if Miles is his master's real name or he just re-named himself because of that. Or he jut born way before the war but that would be impossible, right?
The mine did not have a living soul, not even an insect or rodent, that was enough to catch the attention of Glynda and the CNVL team.
No insects or rodents around it meant anything spat them out of the place.
White Fang, no doubt.
Discover how they managed to get Miasma Dust and retrieve it is one of the priorities of the mission, and to locate and go after the responsible one who probably does not know what he is getting into.
The possibility of more Miasma Grimms appearing is enough to cause Glynda a chill in her spine. The ones she faced in Vale along with her co-workers were just Beowulves, so if grimms like Ursas or Nevermores evolve that way, not even James's army will be enough to stop what's coming. The team accompanying her were already equipped with their equipment. Pyrrha was already with her sword and shield ready, Ren with both pistols in her hands, Nora holding her hammer and Ceodore with the sword out of the scabbard.
Glynda has seen before students fighting with swords and shields but never with one at a time. This made her curious about how he trained him.
After a while, they arrived at what appeared to be an alley with no way out.
-I think we went the wrong way. -Ceodore spoke.
-Looks can be deceiving Mr. Ceodore. -Glynda spoke after as she went to the wall passing the palm of her hand around it.
-What are you looking for Ms. Goodwitch? -Pyrrha asked.
-This wall is lacking any type of dirt, meaning that was cleaned or is moving make a while now. -Glynda answered.
Without the blind samurai, they would have to find any secret passage by themselves. It would be better if they all went together to the secret base but there was the risk of some members of the White Fang run away from the path none of them were walking, because of that Glynda decides to split up the teams just in case.
Ceodore looks around for any clue until he spotted a shovel.
-In a place like that? -He thought as he decide to give a better look on the shovel.
With a little push, the wall behind him starts to move revealing a passage.
-Great work Ceodore. -Pyrrha spoke. -You discover the passage!
-Indeed, a very good job Mr. Ceodore.
Ceodore look at his partner and professor confused until he looks to behind and notices the passage. He was about to say it was an accidental move from his part but footsteps interrupted his thoughts followed by a shout.
-Humans! -A White Fang member shout.
He quickly was silenced by Ren who moved in blind speed and knocked the air from the faunus' lungs. Unfortunatelly for the teams and the professor, more faunus came from the passage, checking why was open before the time to leave.
Fernando stopped his walk when notices the commotion happening with the team accompanied by Glynda. Then he notices a passage opening a bit far from on where they were going.
-Get yourselves ready girls. -He spoke. -The part will start.
Atlas
The base was well hidden but Winter was able to find it with some help from her soldiers and Dr. Polendina's "child".
After a while, they managed to open the doors of the secret base and start they search for the body of Solaire Arc. The place was well equiped with research machines and what worried her, pods big enough to fit a human body. She also found beds that could be used for surgeries but deep she knew the real reason for the them.
The entire place was build to research miasma so of course Solaire's body must be there somewhere.
-Hey! -One of her soldiers spoke. -Come here!
Winter with the small group of soldiers and Crimson followed the soldier who made the call and see him standing in front of the door of the waste disposal. Looking to the dump below, Winter covered her mouth in shock, not believing in what she was seeing. Some of the soldiers were in the same state with one of them throwing up by the sight of numerous dead bodies, all of them with a purple colored skin, meaning that they were failed attempts to cure or research miasma.
-They all are still infected. -Crimson spoke.
-Those bodies still has miasma inside of them? -One soldier asked.
-They are not dead bodies.
This sentence makes good part of the soldiers felt a chill run through their spines.
They were alive? How it was possible? Something must have fried inside Crimson's head.
This was the thought of some soldiers until one of the bodies suddenly starts to move, shocking every human and faunus on the room. Another body start to move, followed by another, and another. Each one of the bodies showed signs of live but lacked good sense. They were all screaming and trying to reach the soldiers by climbing the straigth wall.
In the middle of the insanity, Winter found her voice to speak.
-Who did this to all of you!? -She asked but the only answer she got was more roaring from the people below. -Who did this to all of you?! -She tried to ask again but the answer was the same. Seemed they were lacking a brain to think.
-What happened to them? -One of the soldiers asked.
-They were infected by miasma. -Crimson answered.
-But what about the Dark Knight?
-Yeah. He was infected with miasma but never was told he ever was acting like that.
-Even if with the Dark Knight is different, most people infected just die. How is possible for them be alive?
-Miasma must have been infused with them in a different way than was with the Dark Knight and his apprentice. -Winter spoke, remembering what Ironwood heard from the apprentice.
Those people seemed like wild animals who just see strangers in their territory. They did not spoke a word since they awake and did not show any sign they would eventually. If this happens to people if they are infused with miasma in a improper way, then she could add something else to why miasma is so dangerous.
With her heart heavy in guilty, she knew what she needed to do. She turned to her soldiers and spoke.
-Get your weapons ready.
They all notices what she wanted them to do and got their rifles from their backs, but before they could start, the soldier who was with a cold start to cough again, this time accompayned by some of his blood.
Abandoned Dust Mine
Ceodore start to wonder if this what Ruby went through when she went with her team to mountain Glenn.
One by one, the faunus fall down by Ceodore's skill with his sword as he, his team and Glynda make way through the mine. Ceodore parried a nightstick and kicked the stomach of his attacker, followed by one with a axe which he easily sidestepped and punched his face. Another with a sword tried to attack and was easily throw away by the apprentice.
Ceodore start to think how come in Beacon every student has weapons like swords, axes, daggers, spears mixed with fire weapons while the terrorist group has the normal type. Also seems that the terrorist group is formed by amateurs since none of them showed any type of skill in combat he has witnessed in Beacon.
Ren was in the same boat as his leader, easily dodging, blocking and counter-attacking every faunus that tried to land a hit on him. With Nora, Ceodore would be laughing if was not busy. The faunus were running away from her like she was some type of psycopath, her maniacal laugher must have something to do with it.
If for them was easy, for Pyrrha was just being a walk on the park. Ceodore always is impressed with her skills in combat. None of the faunus had any chance to lay a single blow for her to block as she easily disposed them away with her skills and semblance.
If Pyrrha impressed him then he was with his mouth open with what Glynda could do. Any faunus who tried to attack her was send flying away by her semblance. Each shot fired with a fire weapon was easily blocked with her barriers, and her purple projectiles landed in her targets wherever they were.
This mades Ceodore wonder if what his teacher can do is really a semblance.
A small group come at the same time after them, and Glynda merely pushed her glasses up as she raised her riding crop. What she did was levitate every bladed weapon dropped by the falled White Fang members and send it in the direction of the faunus coming. They immediately run away from the incoming blades but were not fast enough. Ceodore was able to hear some of them screaming words like "This hurt!" or "She is not a human!" or "My leg!"
Believing they enemies were done for, she did not notice when a member of the White Fang hidden jumped on her and get her crop out of her hands.
-Ha! I wanna see you do your tricks without your weapon! -The lizard faunus shout triunphant and went after the blonde with a knife.
Ceodore was about to go after his teacher's aid when he was surprised with Glynda kneeling the faunus stomach, followed by a punch on the face and another punch on his chin. the lizard faunus' vision make shapes long enough to see Glynda standing in front of him in a combat stance, before give a tornado kick straight on his face and sending him crashing against the wall.
Fixing her skirt, Glyda got her crop back and turn to not see only Ceodore but the entire CNVL with surprise on their faces.
-That... was an amazing kick Ms. Goodwitch. -Pyrrha commented.
-Thank you Ms. Nikos.
-I'm actually surprise that you can pack a kick that good. -Ceodore spoke.
-A huntsmen must learn to fight no matter the situation. It is not surprise that I am capable of hand to hand combat.
-How good are you in hand to hand combat? -Nora asked.
-I'm actually two times champion of Vale's Black Belt Karate Tournament.
To emphasize her statement, appeared around her, big cartoon letters written exactly what she said.
Glynda Goodwitch
Two Times Champion of Vale's Black Belt Karate Tournament
And come to Ceodore's mind the image of Glynda wearing a white gi, red gloves and a man giving a medal to her... and she kicked the man while saying "Haya!"
The tremors told to Fido that the place was discovered and his allies were not being able to hold them down. Soon they would be there and take everything Roman got for the White Fang.
That was when the wolf faunus woman enter in the room.
-Are you ready to leave? -She asked.
-Everything is packed and ready to go.
-Good. -She said before turn around to the exit. -Leave through the third opening, and leave the intruders to me.
With that, the wolf faunus dissapeared through the door. Fido was not worried, he knew that only a few of them were able to face Ragna.
End of the chapter.
More actions will appear on the next chapter. The scene with Glynda kicking the faunus was something I wanted to write make a while now, not prejudice intented.
Miasma is becoming even more dangerous and will become worst. How much? Find out in the next chapters.
See you next time.
