(No POV)

Back at home, Kayley was pretending to be a knight on horse back. There was a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and the temperature had dropped to where one could see their breath when they exhaled. Lady Juliana was sweeping at the doorstep.

Kayley heard the knight's horses coming to their farm in the distance. "Mother, listen! Father! Adryan!" Kayley announced, dismounting her horse to greet them. She ran towards the knights to greet her father and brother.

(Adryan's POV)

I rode beside Father's body, which had his shield laying on top of his chest. I look up and see my little sister running up to us excitedly. "Kayley, over here," I call, making my horse walk over to my sister.

Kayley's excitement turned to shock and horror when she saw us. "No..." she gasped in denial, shaking her head.

Later that evening, all the knights and the king stood where Father's stone casket was standing. It had three pillars surrounding it. The wind blew a little bit, making it much colder than it should've been.

I stood beside my little sister, having a hand placed on her shoulder. Both of us were crying silently. King Arthur had given Mother our father's dented shield.

"Your husband died saving your son's life, my life, and saving Camelot. Lady Juliana, the gates of Camelot will always be open to you and your son and daughter," he consoled her. He then began to give a eulogy to the knights.

"Sir Lionel, was my most trusted knight. And also, my dear, dear friend. We will always remember how he bravely up held the ideals of Camelot," he spoke. He unsheathed Excalibur and held it in the air, followed by the other knights. They were paying respect for their fallen knight.

I watched as Kayley walked up to Father's casket, rubbing her fingers on the engraved symbol of Camelot before running to her horse. I walked away too, unable to be around that casket anymore.

I walked over to my sister, who was crying to her horse. I knelt down and hugged her, crying as I held her. Afterwards, we looked down at the pond, letting tears drip from our eyes.
