The Granger Son

Chapter 24

Like she figured she'd have to, Umbridge went about brewing a couple of batches of Veritaserum. When she was done with the potion, she would store it in phials and have them at the ready. She planned on inviting students into her office under the pretense of wanting to discuss their classwork and homework, as well as offer them tea. But what she was really going to do was pour the phials of Veritaserum into their tea and question them about Potter and his friends. And hopefully—and she hoped to Merlin—that one of them would spill Potter's secrets.

She was proud of herself for thinking up such a foolproof plan. There was no way anyone would be the wiser as to what she was doing. And even if they had an idea, there would be no proof of it. Dolores knew and hoped that she would learn the truth soon, and once she knew, she'd take action. She wanted Potter expelled. Once she exposed him, she would work to get him expelled. No one, and she meant no one, would be able to stop her from achieving order and justice.

In Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Professor Umbridge was teaching her class, or supposedly teaching. The Fifth Year students were studying for their O.W.L.s, or as best they could for D.A.D.A. with the little they were taught that year. Class went on until it was over, Umbridge dismissing class and telling them their assignment for the next class. Everyone gathered their belongings, making a beeline for the exit, Harry being one of them, only to stop upon hearing, "Mr. Potter, stay back if you please."

Harry closed his eyes in annoyance before staying behind, giving his sister and friends reassuring nods when they looked at him in concern. None of them liked or trusted the pink toad, but Harry was positive he could handle himself. Once the class was gone, Umbridge closed the door behind them before turning to face Harry, her lips pursed together as she stared at him with a hard expression. Harry stared back at her before finally asking, "Why have you held me back, Professor?"

Umbridge continued to look at him before stepping towards him until she was looking him straight in his eyes. She continued to look before finally saying in a warning tone, "I know you are up to something, Mr. Potter. And I'm telling you now that I will find out what you are up to. And when I do, your wand will be snapped."

Threat in place, she walked past him and to her desk, silently dismissing him as she got ready for her next class. Harry stood there for a moment before leaving the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He hurried through the halls to find his friends. When he did find them, they were hanging out by the entrance of the Great Hall. As he walked over to them, Blaise asked, "So what did the pink toad want?"

"She warned me that she knew we were doing something in secret," Harry answered. "And that once she found out what it was, she threatened to have me expelled."

Blaise and Daphne looked skeptical at what Harry said. It wasn't that they didn't believe him, but they had yet to be discovered. So Umbridge's words had little value to them. Daphne gave her bespectacled Housemate and smile before saying, "I wouldn't worry too much about it, Harry. Umbridge is mostly all talk, so I wouldn't let it bother you."

Hermione wasn't too sure, as she couldn't help but think of her dream vision. According to that, Umbridge would find out eventually, and her visions were rarely ever wrong. Draco, seeing the brunette's worried expression, also thought about what she had told him and Harry about her dream. Though he had been skeptical of it upon first hearing it, he was now thinking that Hermione may have been right. Umbridge seemed to be determined to find out the truth about Potter's Army, and now he believed that it was only going to be a matter of time before they were inevitably found out.

Harry could see his sister's and friend's expressions, seeing that they were worried about Umbridge's warning. He too was worried, especially with Hermione's dream vision being just that, her finding out. But he also had to believe that everything would be okay, and that the meetings for Potter's Army would eventually be over with before she found out. Giving them reassuring smiles, he told them that they wouldn't worry for now, and should concentrate on their next meeting that evening.

Everyone agreeing, Blaise, Daphne, and Draco went on to their next class. Harry went to follow them, as the next class wouldn't be mixed in with Ravenclaws, and thus Hermione wouldn't be in class with them. However, before he could fully follow them, Hermione's hand grabbed his wrist and tugged him back. Looking at his sister, he asked, "What's the matter, Hermione?"

Hermione bit her lip before saying, "My dream, my vision, I just feel like it won't be long before it comes true. And it's making me wonder if perhaps…well…"

"Yeah?"

"Maybe we should tell everything to McGonagall. She is your legal guardian after all, and she could at the very least help but have a bit more time or even-"

"No Hermione," Harry instantly said, cutting his sister off. "Listen, no one outside of Potter's Army is supposed to know about it. It's one thing if McGonagall has a feeling, but it's another if we just tell her straight out."

Hermione frowned at her brother. "You mean like how it's one thing if Umbridge suspects, but another if she finds out about P.A.?"

Seeing her point, Harry sighed and replied, "I just don't want to worry her. She's already done so much for me since coming to invite us to Hogwarts."

"And she'll appreciate if you told her and let her help."

"But not yet, alright? I don't want to worry and involve her, at least not yet."

Nodding reluctantly, Hermione said, "Alright, fine. I'll see you later in the Room of Requirement. And you're going to teach how to perform the Patronus Charm, right?"

Harry nodded with a grin saying, "That's right. But I will say that it's going to take a couple of lessons. I didn't get it right on the first try, and you lot won't either."

"Are you denying my capabilities?"

"Of course not, but I wouldn't expect to produce a Patronus on the first try, or during the first lesson."

Understanding, Hermione bid Harry 'goodbye' for the time being, hurrying to her next class as Harry hurried after his friends for his next one. These next few meetings of Potter's Army were sure to be interesting. That, and he couldn't wait to see what kind of Patronuses everyone produced.

Azkaban Prison…

The wind howled and the waves slapped against the rocks of the lone island where Azkaban Prison sat, the building surrounded by Dementors as they flew overhead. Inside of the large, stone building, Death Eaters sat wasting away in their cells, the cold dampness around them freezing them, but not enough to put their spirits down. They knew, they just knew, that one day, they would be out of this hellhole and would serve their master once more.

One of the prisoners, Bellatrix Lestrange, had been one to never lose faith in her master. She just knew that he would return for her, for all of them, and they would take their place as the superior wizards and witches of the Wizarding World. They'd eradicate all those that did not belong, and once their world was free of those of dirty blood and blood traitors, her lord would rule supreme, and she and his faithful followers would be by his side. Yes, and then what a perfect world they all would be in. Of course, that meant making sure the one to defeat her lord in the first place had to be killed. And that was none other than that dirty Halfblood, Harry Potter.

Bellatrix suddenly looked up, feeling a difference in the wind howling outside of the prison. As she did, she could feel it, she could feel the change and why it felt so familiar to her. A smile slowly spread on her face, her rotten teeth showing a glimpse for the first time in a while. Her lord, he was nearby; she could feel it. He was there, back to gather his faithful; he was breaking them out of Azkaban.

A huge explosion rocked the prison, many people shouting as they the building shook. Following the explosion were many more, and then the wall of her own prison cell exploded, creating one of many large holes in the prison. Death Eaters began to escape in earnest, Bellatrix laughing maniacally as she too escaped. Following her fellow Death Eaters, they made their way away from Azkaban to where the Dark Lord was summoning them. Finally, they were on their way home.

Harry gasped awake, green eyes flying open as he looked around in a cold sweat. Sitting up, he looked around the Slytherin Boys Dormitory, noticing that everyone was still asleep. Catching his breath, he wiped the sweat from his brow before lying back down, staring at the top of the canopy of his bed. As he did, he couldn't help but think about the dream that he just had.

His dream, it felt so real, like it was actually happening, even though he wasn't there. He dreamt of Azkaban and of Death Eaters escaping. Harry knew there was only one reason for so many Death Eaters to escape at once, and that was because it was due to Voldemort freeing them. As he thought about this, he couldn't help but hope that he was wrong about it. Even so, there was one thing he couldn't ignore, and that was the burning of his scar. The way his scar burned was like how it did when Voldemort or something about him was nearby, or when he dreamt of him. And based on that, Harry knew that his dream wasn't just a dream.

Author's Note: I apologize for the delay. Work had monopolized a lot of my time lately, and I have been very tired. But I haven't forgotten this story and still plan on working on and finishing it. I'll try to upload more often, or at the very least when I can. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and stay tuned for more. Love, SehunsBae37.
