The weekend after that, it was Ashley's turn to ride, while Penny and Chloe rode in the bag, and she fast travelled to Colonnade Hollow, and followed the path to Asado Desert. Where Arven called them once more.
"Hey, Ashley, Chloe, Penny," he said, "apparently this desert is home to the Quakimg Earth Titan. Speaking of which, the ground's been shaking off and on and… urk… making me feel a bit sick… sorry, I'm just gonna sit down and rest a little before I get back to Titan hunting…"
With that he hung up and Ashley rode Miraidon through the desert, looking to where the marking was when she saw a giant sized Pokémon that looked like Donphan, but different.
"There you are," Ashley said, chasing it down with Miraidon where it cried out its name as Penny and Chloe jumped out as the phone rang.
"Hello Ashley, Chloe, this is Professor Turo," he said, "Iron Treads is a pokemon that came from the Great Crater of Paldea. I ask that you do whatever is needed to subdue it for me-with all due caution, of course."
Seeing it was a ground and steel type, Ashley sent out Meowscarada for Brick Break, Penny sent out Vaporeon for Hydro Pump, and Chloe sent out Skeledirge for Torch Song, driving it away where they chased after it as it broke open a cave and started eating a Herba Mystica as Arven ran up.
"Looks like you three found yourselves a Titan!" Arven said, before looking closer at it. "Wait… THAT'S the Quaking Earth Titan? Uh… Is… is that thing even a Pokémon?"
"Professor Turo called," Chloe said, to Arven's surprise. "He said it is called Iron Treads and is from the Great Crater."
"Great… that explains why I feel like I saw it before," Arven muttered before speaking up. "Well… it must be trying to get pumped up with that little snack… time to show that thing what we can do…"
"Right!" Ashley said as Arven let out Scovillian before pausing and turning to Penny. "Hey Penny… your Tera Type is Water and you know Tera Blast. Want to join in?"
"Sure," Penny decided jumping in as Ashley grabbed the Tera Orb in her mouth and tossed it to Terastallize Penny, while Chloe sent out Skeledirge again, her other Pokémon being at a disadvantage.
Luckily while Scovillian was attacked and flinched, Skeledirge managed to deal lots of damage before being finished off by Penny's Tera Blast.
"Yesss! Nice going little buddies!" Arven cheered before heading to the cave. "Anyway. I bet if we head inside here, we'll find more of that Herba Mystica it was eating. Let's give the place a one-over before that thing decides to come back!"
Inside they managed to find Sour Herba Mystica, which Arven once again made into a sandwhich for them, with Ashley, Penny, and Miraidon glow with power upon eating once more, it didn't have as much effect on Mabostiff as normal and Miraidon was the only one to see a slight shimmer briefly cross Ashley's fur.
When they got outside they got another call, from Turo.
"Hello, this is Professor Turo," he said, "I detect that Miraidon has regained more of its original power. After it has jumped in the air it can now glide. You must continue helping Miraidon recover."
With that he hung up, as Penny looked at the other two.
"You know, we can find a lot of things to sell in Asado Desert," she said, "want to collect so,e before heading back?"
"Sure!" Ashley and Chloe agreed as they searched the desert for items before selling them at the Porto Marinado Pokémon Center before returning to the academy.
