Ryoya leaned against the UA gate, phone in bandaged hand with his other in his pocket. He had spoken to Izuku fifteen minutes ago when they met in the infirmary but he still wasn't here. Frankly, he was maybe starting to think that his friend might've been killed because Izuku had the self-preservation skills of a drunk sloth on a busy highway. After a few more minutes of waiting and tapping his screen to simply look busy so random people wouldn't try to make conversation with him, he finally sensed Izuku's ki. He wasn't alone.

"That was so cool!" Uraraka said happily. "You were all like 'I got this'" She deepened her voice and sounded nothing like Midoriya. "Then you fired that big beam like this was an anime or something!"

Izuku blushed at the praise. Uraraka had been going on about it since Recovery Girl had given her those pills to help nausea; frankly, Izuku didn't think what he did was that impressive. The Shinku Hadoken was something he'd only really managed to prefect during his training sessions with Ryu-sensei when Ryoya was off doing lord knows what. He knew it was strong, but he could really only manage one a day before he needed to stop fighting altogether.

"Big beam, huh?" Ryoya said suddenly, causing the duo to jump at his voice. Had they really not noticed him?

Izuku swore. That was the one ace up his sleeve he didn't want Ryoya to know about. "I have no idea what you're talking about." He said easily, but Ryoya could clearly see his slight shake and sweat forming on his brow.

"Keeping secrets are we?" The tan boy raised a brow.

"Nope."

"...alright." Ryoya then turned to walk away.

"Just like that?" Uraraka asked with wide eyes.

Izuku just shrugged. Then walked to catch up to his friend. "So, what happened to your hand?"

"Punched the ground real hard." He said simply and Izuku nodded. Ochako, once again, was taken aback by how easily Izuku accepted Ryoya's absurd statements. She didn't think she would get used to it any time soon.

"Enough to actually hurt your hand?" Izuku was a bit surprised by that. Ki made them pretty durable, and he's seen Ryoya dent thick cast iron before without so much as a flinch.

"Oh, no. These were for the burns. Used Heat Rush a bit longer than normal today and it..." He waved his wrapped hand again and trailed off.

"Oh, I didn't know your fire could hurt you, Harushi." Ochako said curiously.

"Well, normally it can't," Ryoya explains. "As far as I remember, Izuku's Denjin Renki doesn't hurt him really. It's because we use it differently. I believe you use Denjin Renki through your whole body, huh?"

"Yeah," Izuku confirms. "Ryu-sensei said it would've been harder to use it like that, but overall, it makes me a pretty well balanced fighter."

Ryoya nods and Ochako hangs on every word. Whenever these two explained their powers, which was far too rare honestly, she always found out something new and her admiration went up just a bit more. They just seemed so skilled with their abilities.

"Yeah, well, I don't do that with Heat Rush. There's no point. Sure, Denjin Renki can be used like that because it literally super charges your whole body, but fire doesn't do such a thing. So, I only use it in my arms and feet. It took me a while to learn how to truly condense fire down to such a point, but the reward is that my hits, on average, do way more damage than Izuku's. He has better defense since whole body and all, but I have better offense. And as you can imagine, trying to condense blue flames down for any extended time..." He once again waved his bandaged hand. "Tends to hurt."

Fascinating, really.

"Yeah, but rambling aside, how'd you two do on the test?"

Izuku rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled sheepishly. "I don't know," He said, a light shade of pink appearing on his cheeks. "I stopped counting at fifty? Around there."

"Why the low score?" Ryoya asks with a raised brow. "You should've easily had in the low to mid sixties. That's what I remember I had."

"I had to keep stopping to help people."

"Had or wanted?"

Izuku gasped and feigned offense. "Of course 'had'! You know me better than that! When have I ever been able to to see someone in trouble and not help them?" Izuku sounded genuinely scandalized, but his smirk gave his playfulness away.

"Since that one time you watched Lizard-chan and Red-chan yell at me for five minutes straight for not telling them I baked cookies." Ryoya said with a light smirk of his own. It was honestly the first time Ochako had seen him do anything even remotely close to smiling besides that one time when he and Midoriya almost fought. She was a bit, only a bit, intrigued by how the light bounced off his fangs. Also, she realized Midoriya wasn't kidding about the nicknaming.

"You walked into that one, friend. Besides, you judging me like you wouldn't have done the same thing in my position." The greenette challenged.

"Me? Of course I would've helped if I saw three robots ganging up on someone. The poor bastard won't stand a chance against four of us."

Ochako and Izuku both laughed at that.

"What do you mean you're going away?" Ryoya asked with wide eyes when he got back to the dojo.

Ryu sighed then looked at Ken, who took a step forward. "We're only going away for a few months. We have to take a trip to Korea for a tournament hosted by the Mishima's. We would decline, but..." Ken trailed off and made some vague gestures with his hands. The Mishima's were far, far from what you'd call 'reasonable people', and there was a chance that so much powerful fighters in one area could draw out Akuma or Bison. It was a calculated risk, but one they'd need to take.

"So, uh. I'm going to be living here by myself?"

"No," Ryu says. "We've made arrangements for you to live in a nice apartment near the edge of the Shizuoka Prefecture. It should only be a few trains to UA when you get in."

Ryoya, despite the pit forming in his gut, raised a brow at that. "You seem really confident that I'll get in."

"Kid, you're smart, strong and have the desire to protect people," Ken said as-a-matter-of-factly. "If you don't get in, the school's a sham and I'll personally bad mouth them when we send you elsewhere.

Ryu and Ken shared a look at Ryoya's dejected body language. The understood why, of course, but they really had no choice in this matter. "Hey, why the long face?" Ken continues. "I thought teenagers were supposed to want to get away from their parents." He said while playfully elbowing Ryu in the ribs. The man and Ryoya gave him matching flat looks that didn't help their cases in his eyes.

"It's just that..." Ryoya swallowed hard. "I haven't been alone in a long time. I know I'm not a kid anymore, but I guess it's just a bit much."

Ryu nods firmly. "Yeah, we know it's a bit sudden. But the Mishima's only gave us a week notice and we had to find an apartment for you in time. It's harder than it should be these days honestly, but the one we found suits you." Ryoya still looked a bit sad, but no longer dejected. "And besides, we've already covered the six month rent and Ken's already set aside some money allowance money."

Ken gave his trademarked bright smile and a thumbs up. "Right! The perks of being filthy rich!"

That actually got Ryoya to smile, just a bit. Then his face got serious again. "What about the um, seal? On the Satsui."

Ryu and Ken shared a look. "I was planning on resetting it before we left but now, I may not. It's held up a bit better than I thought these past few months. Have you felt off at all in any way?"

"Um, not really? A bit more confrontational than normal. Like, I feel like I'm getting more annoyed than I usually am."

Ryu made a sound at that. "That's the seal weakening. That's interesting. Took longer than I thought it would. The Satsui might be starting to effect your personality." Ryoya looked very visibly upset by that, but Ryu waved off his concerns. "It's no worries. Part of the reason we're heading to Korea is because our Master might be there too. I plan to learn some of the truly advanced seals to help you ease into mastering it the same way I did."

"We trust you, kid." Ken says. "You're head strong. We know you won't actively call upon that power unless you really, really need to."

"But - "

"But nothing, kid. Just know that you have people on your side to help snap you out of it."

Ryoya's mind immediately went to his friends, primarily Izuku and Momo. "...maybe."

"Right... anyway, there's still time in the day. We can take you the place if you want."

"Yeah, I'd like that. Just let me start packing."

Thankfully, Ryoya didn't own that much to begin with. His entire wardrobe consisted of black, greys and dark blues and could fit in two suitcases. It took him less than fifteen minutes to get all of his things, including some of the gifts he'd gotten for his birthday over the years. The last few minutes were spent simply standing in the middle of what once was his room, simply reminiscing about the past. He really hasn't been alone for years, but now, he realizes, he still doesn't have to be. He sighs deeply and runs his fingers through his hair. "Maybe I can invite friends over to the new place."

A week flew by before Izuku knew it.

"Izuku. Izuku. Izuku!" Izuku looked up to his mother, concern covering her face. "Are you okay?"

On the floor in the living room, Ryoya groaned.

"Why are you smiling at the fish?!"

"O - oh. Sorry." Izuku waved her off. "No, I'm fine. Just thinking about stuff."

His mother seemed to take his explanation at face value. Izuku's mind when back to wandering. He wasn't too worried, but he wouldn't be a Midoriya if his nerves weren't his own worse enemy. He spent every day calculating his written test scores and each time, he only barely managed to pass. It wasn't that the exam was super difficult as an exam, but the cut off point was extremely high. His scores during the practical portion did do a lot to help his confidence however. It might've been lower than both Ryoya and Uraraka, but those two were a bit monstrous and amazing, so he couldn't really be upset at that. After helping his mother wash up, he went to the living room and took a seat on the couch while Ryoya continued watching a video on his phone.

"What's that?" He asked curiously, while picking up one of his weights he had laying around.

"Video from Ken-sensei." Ryoya answers. "He said one of his friends from India has a technique that I might find useful. I've been watching a series of videos all week and I only just now think I know what he's talking about." Ryoya then turned his head slightly upwards and took several deep breaths. On the last inhale, Izuku felt his ki shift ever so slightly and a small ball of fire puffed from his lips before Ryoya caught it in his hand. "Oh, so it does work."

Both Izuku and Inko gasped at the same time. "You can breath fire!" They both proclaimed at the same time.

"Yeah." Ryoya then turned his phone so both could see what he was watching. It was a video titled 'Dhalsim's Yoga Techniques' and the man in the video give tips on how to use one's ki to preform stuff like stretch and bend in rather inhuman ways, levitate and then finally, breathe fire. "I figured here would be a good place to test it since I recall you both saying Izuku's dad could breath fire. I may be wrong, but I thought at least some stuff here would be fire proof."

Inko squealed. "That's cool, Ryoya-kun!" She paused when her phone buzzed and notified her that mail has been delivered. Quick a flash, she dashed toward the front door and came back so quickly, that she fell over. "Izuku! Izuku! It's here!" She said frantically while waving a letter with 'UA High School' on it along with a red, wax letter seal.

"Who the hell still uses wax these day?" Ryoya questioned, but as expected, neither of the two were paying any attention to him. Izuku took the letter and darted to his room, leaving Ryoya and his mother in the living room. Said woman was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane, so Ryoya did what he did best.

Awkwardly stare in silence at her until she stopped. Then he snapped his fingers.

"Ah, that must mean that mine is here too. I better get going."

Izuku stared at the letter, trying to hype himself up before tearing the thing apart. A small circular disk fell out while the paper inside seemed unharmed.

The disk hummed to life.

"I AM HERE... as a PROJECTION!"

Izuku's eyes snapped open. "All Might?!" His eyes went from the letter to the projection and back to the letter. "I thought this was from UA!"

"It's been a while, hasn't it!? There's much we need to discuss!" He bowed in his ugly, bright yellow suit that only he could pull off. "I am here for one reason only, to teach at UA!"

"You're teaching at UA?!"

And as if All Might could hear him, he continued. "Yes! I am teaching at UA!" Then he turned to talk to someone off screen. "We still have how many left? Get to the point you say? Whatever I want to say can be said later?! Fine."

Izuku looked on in exasperation at the man's antics.

"Congratulations, young Midoriya! You passed the written portion with flying colors, scoring within the top five percent of all examinees! But intelligence is not the only thing we here at UA look for!" He flexed his giant arms and turned on a screen behind him, and immediately, a video started playing of him during the practical exam. "You scored forty-nine villain points which is normally more than enough to get in! But this year had some really stiff competition!"

Izuku's heart rate skyrocketed. Did he not get enough? Did he spend too much time stopping to help people? Did it cost him a place in the hero course?

"However! That's not all!" The scene behind him changed to show various parts of the exam where he stopped to help someone or saved them from accident. Then the highlight reel ended with his and Ochako's battle against the zero-pointer and he had to admit, the Shinku Hadoken looked pretty cool from this angle. "This exam isn't just about villain points! What kind of hero course would we be if we rejected those who clearly display heroic spirit!? We had a hidden score system you see... Rescue points! Another fundamental way for UA to evaluate you! For your brave actions of not only saving that girl, but helping those who ran into misfortune, and inspiring others to help... sixty rescue points! With a total score of one hundred nine points, you've not only set an incredibly high bar for other quirkless to follow, but you've also joined a very small group called the One Hundred Club made exclusively for students who break the triple digits! Congratulations, young Midoriya! This will be your hero academia!"

With that, the recording finished and another screen popped up displaying the top ten scores and sure enough, his name was near the very top in second place. He was beyond surprised to see that he wasn't even the only student in the triple digits. In first was Ochako with an impressive score of one hundred ten points and immediately below him in third place was Ryoya with a score of one hundred four.

Izuku broke down and cried, 'Who's the deku now?'

Shortly later, Ryoya arrived at his apartment building and grabbed his mail from the old receptionist before heading to his new living area.

It wasn't large, but it was more than enough for him. It was a small, minimalistic loft with white walls and black doors and cabinets along with matching black stairs and railings. The small kitchenette was stocked for at least a month for someone like Ryoya who tended to cook a lot and the small dining area had four chairs that he could use when inviting his friends over. The living area was enough for him. It had a small grey couch, grey coffee table and a decently sized flat screened TV.

He took his letter upstairs to his "bedroom", which was mostly just the entire upstairs with a single queen sized bed and a desk with a decently sized bathroom connected to it and sat down at his desk. He looked at the letter for a long time in silence before opening it and letting the disk hit the desk.

"Hello! Ryoya Harushi!" It was a woman in a navy blue pant suit with long, spiky purple hair with sky blue eyes. "I'm the pro hero Midnight and I'm here to tell you the good news! Firstly, your performance during the written portion was," Then she paused and took in some air before her tone shifted. "...incredible." She said breathily.

Ryoya paused at that and his eyes widened minutely.

"You placed within the top five percent of all the test takers! Tall, dark, handsome and smart?! A truly lovely combo that I can't wait to sink my teeth into!"

Ryoya could feel the heat pooling at the back of his neck and gave the projection a deadpanned expression though he knew she couldn't see him.

"But now that the foreplay is over, we can finally get to the main action!" Midnight then reached off screen and a display lit up behind her. "It really got me all hot and bothered to watch you score an incredible sixty two villain points. Seven more would've been a party!" Ryoya could slowly feel a headache coming on. He couldn't tell if this woman was serious or not, but either way, someone needed to remind her that he was a minor. He watched as the display behind her turned off and showed clips of him taking down robot after robot and he had to admit, he looked pretty badass doing it."But that's not all. You should've seen how excited I got when saw you go out of your way in a display of true heroism to help and save your fell test takers. It really hit all the right spots. Really."Her voice got really deep and breathy at the end, and Ryoya was glad that no one else was there with him. He was sure that his stoic demeanor was broken and his face was red. The screen behind the woman started showing footage of him saving various people and finally ended with his Power Geyser against the zero-pointer. "What kind of place would we be if we didn't reward that kind of action? You really blew a big load against the zero-pointer!"

At this point, Ryoya was genuinely at a loss. Her tone and words were saying one thing, but he knew that heroes had personas and he really doubted UA would allow such a woman around minors if she were a walking lawsuit.

But then again, why were her eyes hungry?

"You racked up a total of forty two rescue points bringing your total up to one hundred four! An incredible performance for your first time!" Ryoya tried not to groan at that. He failed. "You've joined the ever exclusive One Hundred Club as well! A small group of nothing but the best of the best UA's entrance exam has ever seen! Congrats, Ryoya Harushi!" Did she really have to moan his name like that? "This is your hero academia!"

On habit alone, Ryoya nearly called out to Ryu to celebrate, but he remembered that he wasn't there anymore. It made things bittersweet, but he smiled anyway. It was small and sad, but genuine.

Super Street Fightin'Friends

Dino-City: Soooo, Falcon-PUNCH, Hot-Stuff, Shhh..., Shockingly-Green How'd you guys do? Don't keep us in suspense!

Hot-Stuff: I did alright. I got in.

Shhh...: Just alright he says, you really need to learn how to brag just a bit, Harushi-kun. I got in btw, you people can't get rid of me that easily. I'm in 1-B

Falcon-PUNCH: I did pretty good! I was fifth in the ranking! I am in 1-B too, Yui!

ME: I got in too! I'm sorry, I would've said something sooner but mom was crying and wanted to celebrate.

Hot-Stuff: Don't act like you weren't bawling too. I didn't even have to be there to know you were in shambles.

Shhh...: Well, normally I'd agree, but I'd say getting top three is something to celebrate.

3D-Printer: What? You within the top three, Midoriya? That's amazing! Congratulations!

Dino-City: Mido, you mad man! How many points did you get?!

Falcon-PUNCH: Before he could lie, he got an absurd 109! Like what?

Shhh...: And of course his best friend who just did 'alright' got 104. What the fuck even are you two?

Dino-City: Mido! Ryo! You monsters!

3D-Printer: Oh my.

Hot-Stuff: Yeah, I did fine.

ME: I think you did a bit better than fine, Ryoya... but thanks guys! I'm in 1-A!

Hot-Stuff: Same

3D-Printer: I look forward to sharing a class with you two.

Falcon-PUNCH: Hey Set, what about Tetsutetsu? How'd he do?

Dino-City: Tetsu said he got in too! Funny you should mention him, he just told me to pass a message to Ryoya.

Hot-Stuff: ?

Dino-City forwarded Message: Oi! Tokage! Tell that tall bastard that he's on my shit list when we get to UA! I can't wait to show him who's really the most manly out of us!

Hot-Stuff: Does he not know how easy it be for me to dent steel?

3D-Printer: No, and he's not going to find out either. Must you always be so violent, Ryo-kun?

Hot-Stuff: Mo-chan, he called ME out. I was merely responding the way Ken-sensei taught me. A flaming kick in the face.

3D-Printer: Why did you show him that Setsuna?

Later that night, Izuku received a text from All Might asking him to meet at the beach and he did so without hesitation. "Uraraka-san! All Might!" He yelled when he saw them.

"All Might?! Where?!"

Toshinori coughed up some blood. "Who's that? Tell them you were just seeing things kid." He says while Ochako giggles in the background.

"Sorry! I was just seeing things!" Izuku corrects.

"So anyway, congrats on passing you two! You put on quite the display for the judges, I must say." He said while giving a high five to Izuku and a high four to Ochako. "I was a bit too new to be on the judging panel, so don't worry about me bolstering any of your points. Didn't even make mention of our relationship, so every point was earned by you."

Izuku and Ochako shared a look before she extended her fist. "Congrats on first place, training buddy!"

Izuku met her fist with his own and a smile.

"Did you know All Might was gonna be a teacher at UA?"

"Nope." Ochako said while popping the 'p'. "He just sorta ghosted me for the last week." For the briefest of moments, she entered her 'Intense Uraraka' self, before her innocent smile came back. "It was stressful! I thought I did pretty good, but All M- Yagi-san not answering really made me start doubting myself!"

All Might started to sweat at the combined stares at the two kids. "We - Well, you see. I couldn't really talk about it before the school made it public. And I was so swamped with paper work, I didn't have time. I originally took the job months ago to look for a successor."

Ochako paused at that. 'Right, he was lookin' for a successor before he found me. He was probably hopin' to find one among the students.' Her eyes unconsciously wandered back to Izuku and the feeling of inferiority she thought long dead reared its ugly head. 'Even with my quirk and him helpin' me, I still feel like I can't compare...'

Before she could fall too deep into such negative thoughts, Izuku nudged her shoulder. When she looked up at him, he smiled.

"Hey now, stop that." He said firmly. "I can see it on your face. He made the right choice in picking you, and if your natural talent with One For All and your exam scores aren't enough to prove it, I don't know what will."

That was true, she supposed. She did surpass him, albeit by one point. "But - "

Izuku just shrugged and waved her off before she could come up with anything. "But nothing, Uraraka-san. You earned first place. Say it with me."

"By luck - "

"Say it with me."

"...I earned first place."

Izuku beamed and Ochako could feel her face heating up. "Yes, yes you did."

All Might watched the scene and couldn't help but buffing up. "Yes, young Uraraka! You didn't get lucky. Your hard work merely paid off and all of your preparation came to the forefront! Your score of one hundred ten is the highest in UA's history since my own! I truly believe that if you weren't in the same area as young Midoriya, you would've surpassed me easily!" The Symbol of Peace gave a thumbs up. "You two are shaping up to be quite the team. I look forward to the day that the Symbol of Peace and Symbol of Hope take the world by storm. Villains beware! The future is looking All Bright!"

Izuku gave All Might the flattest look possible while Ochako tried not to giggle.

"Holy shit is that All Might?! When'd he get here?!"

"Oh crap! All Might AWAY!"

Katsuki fucking seethed. Fourth place? He didn't even get a fucking worthless bronze medal. He kept looking over the projection of the scores to make sure he wasn't missing anything. He had the most villain points by far. The closest person to him was that stupid Piss Eyes and even he only had sixty two, a whole fifteen below Katsuki's seventy-seven. So how the fuck did he lose to not just him, but shitty Deku and some extra named 'Ochako Uraraka'? What the fuck even were rescue points? Who gave a shit about extras who couldn't save themselves?

As far as Katsuki was concerned, all they did was take up space and existed solely to sing his praises. Extras did what extras do. Katsuki would not stand for this slight against his pride. He would not stand for it at all.

"Piss Eyes... Deku..." He growled.

There would be hell to pay for looking down on him.

Before they knew it, it was spring and it was time for the first day to begin. "Izuku! Do you have your pocket tissues?"

"Yes ma'am."

"And your handkerchief?! What about your extra All Might themed pens!?"

"Yes mom, I've got it all!"

Izuku fixed his uniform and made his way towards the door. Ryoya was outside waiting for him, and he'd rather not deal with an annoyed, early morning Ryoya.

"Izuku!"

He turned while halfway out the door.

"You look really cool." Inko said with tears in his eyes. It took every once of training Izuku had ever received to not cry right there.

When he got downstairs, Ryoya regarded him with a blank stare.

"...your tie looks stupid."

"Bold words from someone who isn't even wearing one."

"I have it in my bag, I was gonna ask Mo-chan to do it. Because who out of Ryu-sensei and Ken-sensei could've taught me how to tie a tie?"

Izuku realized that his friend had an extremely fair point.

"Is it true that only one out of every three hundred people get in?" Ryoya asked. "I haven't done that much research on this school beyond the alumni."

Izuku nodded hastily. "Yeah, it's only thirty-six students per grade with eighteen in each class." He explained while still looking for 1-A's door. This place was just so huge. When they found it, they were a bit taken aback by the sheer scale of the door. "Wow, the door's giant!"

"Probably for people with size quirks. And I don't know about you, but I really hope we aren't sharing a class with Bakugo again. He only narrowly avoided me setting his ass on fire, but I'm not sure I can deal with three more years of him and not at least break a leg or two."

Izuku laughed nervously at that. Truthfully, he really didn't want to be in the same class as Katsuki either. As said before, Katsuki really didn't bother him much in the time leading up to the entrance exam, but that still didn't mean he was exactly friendly towards him. Nor did it mean he was pleasant to be around. Actually, now that he thought about it, Katsuki might hate him even more now since he got more points. There was really no winning here, was there? He had to admit that Katsuki was talented enough to that he'll more than likely be in 1-A, and a quick pulse of ki confirmed his theory. Both he and Ryoya shared a groan.

"Remove your feet from this desk at once!"

Izuku visibly deflated because he recognized that voice.

"Such an action is insulting to those who came to UA before us as well as the craftsmen who made this desk!" The tall, blue haired boy with glasses chastised.

Katsuki sneered at him. "Like I give a shit. What middle school are you from extra?"

"I'm from Somei Private Academy. My name is Tenya Iida." The boy, Iida, introduced with several sharp hand chops.

"Somei?! A stuck-up elitist huh? I'll have fun blowing you to pieces."

Iida looked mortified. "Blowing me to bits?! You're awful! Do you really wish to become a hero!?"

"I already hate it here." Ryoya's dry voice brought everyone's attention to the door. Iida gave him a surprised look and Bakugo glared at him, but he completely ignored them, instead making his way to Momo's desk with his tie in hand. "Can you tie this for me, please?"

Momo smiled at him and nodded.

"Piss Eyes... Deku..." Bakugo growled.

Iida took this moment to approach the greenette standing at the door. "I'm from Somei - "

"I uh, heard you before. Tenya Iida right? I'm Izuku Midoriya, pleased to meet you." He wasn't really pleased, but his mother always taught him manners.

Iida suddenly got an intense look in his eye. "Midoriya... you perceived the true nature of the practical exam didn't you? While I did not...! I misjudged you." He bowed at a perfect ninety degrees. "I hate to admit it, but you truly were the better candidate."

"I, uh, didn't perceive anything. I just did what any hero would do in that situation."

"Oi! Midoriya!" Ochako chirped from the entrance. "Good morning!"

"Good morning, Uraraka-san." Izuku's body relaxed the minute he saw the girl, while neither noticed how Bakugo tensed.

'Uraraka as in Ochako Uraraka?' He glared daggers at the pair.

While this happened, Ryoya leaned down a bit so Momo could have an easier time with his tie. "Honestly, how do people have so much energy in the morning?" Ryoya asked with a groan.

"Because normal people don't stay up late at night watching cat videos, Ryo-kun." Momo joked and Ryoya gave her a flat look, but she did see the light blush on his cheeks.

"A guy admits to that once and you've never let it go."

Momo finished up and hid her giggle behind her hand. She turned to sit back down, but were met by mismatched teal and grey eyes. The room's temperature dropped noticeably.

Todoroki looked from her, to Ryoya and lingered there longer than strictly necessary. Ryoya's expression slowly changed from vague amusement to annoyance the longer the moment lasted and he actually glared when Todoroki took a step toward him, then two more. He stopped directly in front of him with a piercing look.

"You're in my way." Todoroki's voice was cold, blisteringly cold - much colder and deeper than Momo remembered it being and it had any real right to be.

"Oh?" Ryoya said, reacting to the ice with heat and irritation.

"You," Todoroki said as if he were speaking to a toddler. "are in my way."

Ryoya, of course, didn't move a centimeter. Todoroki held his ground. The entire class could feel the tension and Momo inwardly started to panic.

"Go around." Ryoya's voice was filled with warning.

"No."

"What?"

"I said no." Todoroki said with his breath visible. "Move out of the way. It's easier."

"Fucking go through me if you think you could, then." Ryoya challenged with a sharp glare. The class temperature immediately fluctuated from cold to very, very warm. Almost uncomfortably so. Izuku was there in an instant, grabbing Ryoya by the arm and hastily pulling him away while Iida descended on him like lion hunting prey immediately following that, giving Ryoya a lecture on vulgarity and classroom etiquette that was met by a vicious glare. Iida stopped talking.

Todoroki stood there menacingly, until at some point, he decided he glowered enough and made his way towards the door with his hands in his pocket.

Momo recovered and after shooting an uncertain look in Todoroki's direction, went to where Ryoya's desk. Izuku had yet to take his hand off his arm and she couldn't blame him. She had no idea what Todoroki's problem was, but Ryo-kun was more than willing to get violent if he felt the situation called for it. Todoroki's ice was powerful but... she'd rather those two not clash for the time being.

"Wh - what was that about?" Ochako asked with wide eyes.

"I don't know. I don't even know who that guy is." Izuku answered. And once he was sure that Ryoya had calmed down and wasn't about to torch the entire room, slowly let go of his arm.

"I don't know what got into Todoroki-san either." Momo said, placing a hand on Ryoya's shoulder. If nothing else, to calm her own nerves.

"Todoroki? As in, Enji Todoroki? Endeavor?" Izuku perked up and his eyes filled with interest.

"The very same," Momo confirmed. "They were with us when we watched the general entrance exam." Which was even more surprising since Momo knew that Todoroki had a front row seat to witness Ryoya's flames. So it made even less sense to her for him to very openly antagonize someone with the elemental advantage.

It was then that they noticed a thin layer of front on the floor where Todoroki had stepped. Ryoya glared at the half-and-half boy. Todoroki glared back.

Well, this semester was starting off a bit worse than Izuku thought it would.

A/N: Well, that was rough. Not even ten minutes into the day and tensions are already at a boiling point. It's going to be a real interesting year if nothing else. Honestly, the Ryoya/Momo friendship dynamic will never not be fun to write. They're so wholesome.

If you're curious, the top scores were:

Uraraka - 110

Izuku - 109

Ryoya - 104

Katsuki - 77

Itsuka - 76

Rumi - 75

Kirishima - 75

solbandgus: It was a fun entrance exam to write, mostly because I've been wanting to show the Shinku Hadoken and Power Geyser for a while. And everyone is rightfully freaking out about that since when can quirkless kids emit lightning and fire? kek Thanks for the review!

NinjaFang1331: Thank you for the review!

Ryuujin96: Thanks! And yeah, Izuku has known of the Shinku Hadoken for a while and if he and Ryoya actually got to fight at the beach, they would've revealed both that and Power Geyser.

Bakugo is in for a very rude awakening. Izuku is very physically strong now.

I also liked showing how Izuku/Ochako's dynamic contrasts with Ryoya/Rumi's. It was nice seeing one use teamwork, while the others didn't. Ryoya knew he couldn't actually defeat the zero pointer since he doesn't have the Hadoken's that Izuku does, so he does the next best thing. Trip the thing over. Ryo/Rumi interactions are going to be happening more, yes.

Izuku only tripped because he wasn't paying attention lol, he was so caught up in the building that he didn't look down. But he was ready to catch himself.

The quirk assessment test will be next chapter and will be where I reveal the class lay-out. So stay tuned and thanks for reading.
