Zoe cut in, "as interesting as that is, let us get to the more important part of this meeting, saving our mistress."
"Let us go through the prophecy. Does anyone remember it?"
A Hunter said;
"Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The globe's daughter shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined might prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And vengeance should be had by night's hand."
"Let us start with the first line, it is fairly obvious that it means that five people have to go on this quest. The second line says someone will be lost in the land without rain."
Someone shouted out "surely that could mean death."
Chiron replied, "yes it could which is what I fear it means."
Beckendorf said. "If I were you, I'd stay out of the desert."
There was a muttering of agreement.
"The globe's daughter shows the trail. What do you think this means." Silena asked.
Chiron replied saying "it could be talking about many people for example one of Gaia's daughters or any of the original female titans however I believe that it talks about a daughter of Atlas after all the globe and an atlas are one and the same," he said whilst sending side glances towards Zoe.
He continued on saying, "the next line is obviously saying that the quest must be a mixture of hunters and campers to have any chance of victory, I recommend three hunters and two campers."
Zoe agreed to that.
"The next line is quite curious, 'The Titan's curse must one withstand,' this has many options." Chiron said: "it could be anything." Then he and Zoe exchange a nervous look, but whatever they were thinking, they didn't share it.
"And vengeance should be had by night's hand." Grover cut in "There are many deities of night: from Selene and Astraeus to Nyx and Asteria, not to mention the obvious choice; Perseus." Chiron then said "Perseus isn't a true deity of night instead he is the chosen of Nyx which makes him the most likely to be night's hand."
"There will be deaths," Chiron decided. "That much we know."
"Oh, goody!" Dionysus said.
Everyone looked at him. He glanced up innocently from the pages of Wine Connoisseur magazine. "Ah, pinot noir is making a comeback. Don't mind me."
Perseus then said to himself, "this is their camp leader, idiots." Then vanished into the shadows
