Meg ended up sneaking out of the room to eat the Chinese after Christine went to bed. It seemed easier than facing her. Especially after how easily she'd gotten overly emotional over a valid point. She had even gone through the trouble of pretending to be asleep when Christine woke the morning.
Though perhaps there was another reason for that as well. She wanted to see if she'd get a goodbye kiss at the very least. Perhaps not against her lips, but she would've been contented with a kiss anywhere.
Unfortunately, she hadn't received one. She tried to avoid letting that get to her, but she'd failed in that regard. Had she finally annoyed Christine with her clinginess? It wouldn't surprise her. After all, she was the one that came crawling back after Christine had decided to go home.
She forced herself out of bed, hobbling to go get Luc when he began crying once more. She pulled her shirt up so that he could feed and put him back down when he was done. Something had occured to her during those moments. Maybe she could take some of the stress off of Christine.
She could probably get a part time job and start working - so long as it was only for a few hours until she was fully healed. Sure, she wasn't entirely healed just yet but it seemed better than sitting around on he ass. Hell, she could ask Sorelli to babysit just so her secret wouldn't be outed by Erik or Raoul. They wouldn't do it maliciously- but this was probably the sort of thing that would come out during a conversation at some point.
With the idea in mind, she got the children ready and made the call. Sorelli was more than eager to take care of them, cooing over how cute they must be.
She gathered them all and put them in their stroller, pushing them down the side walk. A bag with their things laid under them in the basket. She took the long way as she was hoping to avoid running into anyone that Christine knew.
By the time that she managed to reach Sorelli's home, her stomach was sore. This was the longest that she'd been on her feet since having the C-section. She was just glad that the stitches hadn't been pulled open by her efforts.
She panted lightly as she raised the stroller up onto the doorstep. She took a moment to regain her composure before knocking on the door.
Sorelli opened it pretty quickly and knelt down, cooing over Odette and Alice. After a few minutes, Luc got the same treatment. It warmed her heart but it also made her incredibly nervous.
She needed to find a job before Christine got home. Either that or she needed to at least apply in a couple of places.
Sorelli finally helped her bring the stroller inside after she cleared her throat. She bid them goodbye and promised to come back in a few hours or so.
She left, doing her best not to hobble while she was still in view of the home. She knew that if Sorelli one how recent their birth was, she'd try and talk her out of it. She didn't need that.
She was doing this for Christine's sake. That was all that mattered. She was finally repaying her girlfriend for taking care of her for so long.
