Meg found that getting hired was the easy part. Finding a way to hide her new uniform was the hard part. Especially because she and Christine ended up sharing clothing sometimes.
But she had managed by hiding it just underneath her ugly, old blue dress. Neither of them touched that power blue nightmare anymore. She wasn't sure why she'd even kept it, but clearly it had a purpose now.
She waited patiently for Christine to leave for work that morning, though the kiss to her cheek made her feel slightly guilty for her deception. But she was doing this for their own good
It was the only way to make their relationship more bearable again. Especially in Christine's opinion. She refused to continue being that burden that Christine probably felt obligated to return to some days.
Once she heard the front door slam, she headed towards the bathroom without a second thought. She hopped into the shower and turned it on the hottest setting.
Perhaps the heat would relax her muscles enough for her to get through her day of stocking shelves with minimal pain. She might feel it later but she could handle that.
She'd just rather not deal with intense pain while she worked. Once she was finished with that, she dried her hair and got dressed. Thankfully she'd gotten ready a couple hours early, because she had to wait for Sorelli to come pick up the triplets.
She used her breast pump to fill a few different bottles and tucked them into the diaper bag. She fixed herself a couple bowls of her favorite cereal and nibbled at it while she waited to hear the telltale sound of crying.
Much to her surprise, it was Luc that cried first this time around. She hurried into the nursery and picked him up, pulling her shirt down to hold him to her breast.
The process was completed with the other two as well before she settled them back down. Feeding them as well as using the breast pump this morning would probably be a good thing.
She didn't want to leak through her bra and all over her work shirt. That would be incredibly embarassing, especially since she knew a complete stranger would probably make a comment on it.
Sorelli arrived earlier than expected but Meg was quite glad as it made getting the car seats and the children strapped in respectively. She had offered her a ride to her job, but Meg denied her. She handed the slightly older woman the bag and waved as they pulled out of the driveway.
She walked to work and arrived just in time to clock in. Everything had been timed perfectly. Even if slightly ahead of schedule.
