Aloha to the Alola
In the small town of Jubilife Village, Lego and the select characters from his stories from chapter 3 were currently walking around, with Lego also giving them their living quarters, and pointing out the shops and more important areas of the town, including the shop, blacksmith's, the photo building, and the ranch.
"You all are now ready to begin your Pokemon adventures," Lego said.
"Alright," Tanjiro said with a smile. "I'm ready!"
"Yeah, me too!" Inosuke shouted.
"As long as the master is with me, I'm ready for anything!" Lizzy said as she hugged Tanjiro from behind with a smile.
Of course, she wouldn't get to prove herself yet, even after she said that, as a wild Alpha Snorlax appeared, chasing a villager who was holding a basket of food and looked panicked to death.
Immediately, panic spread throughout the village, with Lego looking at the Alpha Snorlax in shock. "Crap!" Lego said. "Alpha Snorlax!"
"Alpha?!" Tanjiro exclaimed.
"Snorlax?" Inosuke asked.
"Alpha Pokemon are dangerous! They're usually really high level, and they are strong as well!" Lego said. "But I can't go into those details right now! That Snorlax could destroy a part of the village!" Lego looked at it. "I'mma need to take it down!"
"With what Pokemon?! If it's really strong, then your Samurott might not be able to take it down!" 21 said, worried.
"Don't worry, Aqua is strong," Lego said. "Aqua can take it down. And even then, I can use my Gardevoir or Darkrai to put it to sleep and defeat it. Or, I could use the final Pokemon I have on hand-"
"Don't worry villagers!" Inosuke shouted as he ran forward, holding his two blades. "The great Hashibira Inosuke is ready to rumble!"
Lego's jaw dropped. "Inosuke you idiot!" Lego shouted at him.
Inosuke ran forward towards the Alpha Pokemon. "Alright you big blubbery mound!" Inosuke shouted at the Snorlax, who looked at the boar mask wearing half-blooded demon. "Get ready to be taken down!" Inosuke jumped into the air. "Beast Breathing, Second Fang!" He prepared his swords, but was suddenly interrupted by a Blaziken appearing out of nowhere and hitting the Snorlax with a Flame Punch, which sent it back a bit, and made Inosuke stop. "What the hell?!"
"Well, this was interesting," a voice said, before everyone turned to see the mighty Talespinner69, or more commonly known as Tale. "Alpha Snorlax… Well, we can get the job done."
"Tale!" Lego exclaimed, surprised. "You arrived! What's with the Blaziken?"
"I was in a Hoenn mood so I brought a Hoenn based team," Tale said as he walked up to Lego, and looked back at his Blaziken. "Alright, stand by," Tale said to his Blaziken, who looked back and nodded, while Inosuke backed away.
"Omega Ruby sure was fun," Lego commented. "I will always hate Deoxys though."
"Not the time," Tale stated.
"Yeah yeah," Lego said as he grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and tossed it out. "Go, Gardevoir!" A Gardevoir appeared, this one being bigger than normal Gardevoirs, and also being an Alpha.
"Snorlaaaaaaaaaaax!" The opposing Alpha Pokemon yelled as it began to run forward, its steps making the ground shake as a result.
"Blaziken, use Aerial Ace!" Tale said to his Blaziken, who nodded and ran forward, before performing a swift combo that hit each of its marks, and dealt damage to the Snorlax. But it was far from being put down.
"Gardevoir, use Psychic and bring Blaziken back and slam Snorlax to the ground!" Lego told his Gardevoir. Blaziken started to fly right back while Snorlax was lifted a couple feet into the air before getting slammed down to the ground, hard.
"Blaziken, Break Brick!" Tale said, not wanting to let the Snorlax have any time to react and retaliate. Blaziken jumped forward, before slamming its foot into the head of the Snorlax.
The Pokemon both jumped back to their trainers, and the apprentice Pokemon trainers were in awe. This was their first Pokemon battle, and they were amazed at the teamwork between both trainers, and their Pokemon.
Snorlax started to get back up and yelled. It was close to going down though. Tale was ready however. And so was his Blaziken.
"Gardevoir, use Hypnosis!" Lego said, before the Alpha Psychic-Fairy Pokemon started to emit swirling circles, which caught the eye of the Snorlax. Snorlax started to get drowsy, which had the effect Lego wanted. "Now, finish it with Aura Sphere!"
"Gardevoir!" The Gardevoir shouted before it brought its hands back to make an Aura Sphere, reminiscent of the way certain characters would make a very familiar blast of blue energy. Firing the ball of energy forward, it hit its mark and everything went still as dust kicked up.
There was a pause that stayed until the dust cleared, to show the Snorlax barely standing up. Lego whistled. "Man, this one's serious. That's a strong will it has."
"Indeed," Tale commented. "Snorlax are pretty bulky Pokemon… this one too."
"Snorlax!" It shouted, before suddenly a Pokeball was thrown at the Snorlax from behind the two trainers, which caught them off guard as the Snorlax went into the Pokeball, shook three times, and caught.
"Huh?" Lego and Tale said, confused, before Inosuke ran forward and held up the Pokeball.
"The Snorlax is mine!" Inosuke exclaimed.
"WHAT?!" The two authors both shouted at the same time.
"Where the hell did you get a Pokeball from?!" Lego shouted, knowing he didn't give any of the new trainers anything.
"I borrowed it from that shopkeeper who was clearly very scared of the Snorlax," Inosuke said as he held up the Great Ball he caught the Snorlax in. "And so I caught it, meaning I get to keep it!"
Lego merely sighed, and Tale chuckled a bit, amused by this. "Well, this is certainly interesting," Tale said. Lego nodded in agreement as the two trainers returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs.
"Are you jealous Tanjiro? I caught a Pokemon before you!" Inosuke said as he held up Snorlax's Pokeball. Tanjiro merely chuckled with a smile. He found Inosuke to be a bit funny with how he grew excited over something like this.
"Yeah, a little, but I'm proud of you, Inosuke," Tanjiro said to Inosuke.
"Well, since we're here," Tale said. "Mind if I see your Snorlax? I would like to check to see what moves and nature it has."
"Why do those matter?" Inosuke asked, confused.
"The moves of a Pokemon are essential for any battle, and depending on what you have, it can impact how the battle plays out," Lego said. "And a Pokemon's nature can also impact its stats, which can affect the moves it uses, and the damage it receives from any moves it gets dealt."
Tale nodded. "That, and I'm a bit curious since it didn't really get to attack that much during that battle."
"Fine," Inosuke said as he handed Tale the Pokeball.
Tale checked, and found that the Snorlax knew Ice Punch, High Horsepower, Crunch, and Zen Headbutt, with High Horsepower being the only move it hasn't mastered, while it could use the Strong and Agile Style for the other three. It also had a Lax Nature, and turned out to be a female Snorlax.
"Hmm, interesting," Tale commented as he gave Inosuke the Snorlax back. "Not that bad. A Lax Nature is kinda good for your Snorlax, since it raises her Defense while lowering her Special Defense, which is higher than her Defense."
"It's a she, eh?" Inosuke said. "I'll think of a good name later."
Lego merely nodded. "Pretty diverse moveset. Too bad as you are now, it won't listen to you just yet. But, soon it probably will."
"She won't listen to him yet?" Nezuko questioned. "But don't Pokemon normally listen to their trainers?"
"Depends on a lot of conditions," Tale said. "If we're going based off of the games, then yes, they should listen as long as they're within the level cap. Inosuke's Snorlax is level 45, which is pretty high, so he probably wouldn't be able to use it for a while. However, this is the 'real world' in a sense, so it just might listen to Inosuke if he's kind enough and earns her respect."
"Indeed," Lego said. "This rule will apply to all trainers, and all Pokemon you all receive, whether you get your Pokemon from battling or trading is a whole different story, and also not mine to decide." Lego crossed his arms. "Now then, since Tale is here, it should help make things a bit easier since Tale is a bit more experienced when it comes to Pokemon than I am."
"Don't sell yourself short," Tale said. "You've grown a bit too, so you're being a bit more knowledgeable about everything, so you could teach them on your own if you wanted."
"Then why did you come out here if you believed Lego could teach us on his own?" Android 21 asked Tale.
Tale merely shrugged. "Why not?" Everyone merely accepted that answer.
"Well, the first order of business is to get these newbies accustomed to fighting other Pokemon!" Lego said with a smile.
"Already putting them into Pokemon battles?" Lego's fellow author questioned.
"Might as well," Lego said. "Normally after someone gets their first Pokemon, they have to battle at least another one almost right after. I'm pretty sure it's been like that since the beginning. I know it's true in Sun and Moon, the Gen 3 and 4 remakes, Sword and Shield, FireRed and LeafGreen, and maybe in Let's Go Pikachu." Lego hummed. "I'd need a refresher for that one."
Tale nodded. "Well, that's true. We should probably head to the Obsidian Fieldlands first since that's where all the low level Pokemon tend to be."
"Yep," Lego said. "I think I'm going to change my party real quick so I have my full squad. I only have four Pokemon on me right now."
"That would be your Samurott, Aqua, and then your Alpha Gardevoir, yeah?" Tanjiro questioned. He realized Lego's Gardevoir was an Alpha because of the scent it sort of shared with the Snorlax. "Since you're gonna have a full squad of Pokemon, who're the other two in your party?"
"Actually, I wonder who they are as well," Inosuke said.
"Well, one of them is also a part of my party," Lego said to them. "The other isn't, and I was just seeing how well he did in the field."
"Preparing for something?" Tale asked, sort of joking.
"No, I just wanted to see if it was really all the hype and worth all the waiting for those damn Time-Space Distortions to show up," Lego stated, before Tale instanting realized that Lego was carrying the God of Pokemon on him right now.
Arceus.
"I remain neutral," Lego said, before he went over to the ranch area to swap out his party.
After swapping his party around, the group made their way to the Obsidian Fieldlands, where the training would begin.
Lego looked at them. "Now, normally, Pokemon Trainers wouldn't have to worry about enemy Pokemon attacking them. But, now however, you have plenty to worry about. Pokemon will attack you from all sides, and will break you down. In the world of Hisui, people have died because of Pokemon. Although…" Lego looked at them. "I don't really think you'll have any problem defending yourselves against Pokemon, or retreating in the event you come across something you can't handle."
"For now though, we'll start with battling and typings," Tale said to newbies. "Now, all Pokemon have at least 2 Types, which are usually attributes that help define them. For instance, the Blaziken I used earlier is a Fire-Fighting Type Pokemon, while Lego's Gardevoir is a Psychic-Fairy Type." Everyone including Inosuke seemed to understand so far. "Types also aren't for show, as they can also impact the way a battle goes, because all types have at least one weakness."
"For instance," Lego said as he cut in to help explain, "My Samurott is a Water-Dark Type, meaning it is weak to Electric, Grass, Bug, Fighting, and Fairy Type moves. That's a lot of weaknesses, but it's also true since dual typings can also be a double edged sword depending on the Pokemon."
"That is correct," Tale agreed. "It's usually best to assume your opponent might have at least one Pokemon that your own Pokemon is weak against, so to plan ahead, it's wise to have a move on your Pokemon that could counter an opponent's typing and exploit its weakness."
"Aqua's moveset consists of Megahorn, Aqua Tail, Ceaseless Edge, and Psycho Cut," Lego told the students. "Megahorn is a counter for Grass Pokemon, while Psycho Cut is a counter for Fighting Types, while also being useful against Poison Types too!" Lego crossed his arms. "Now, as your Pokemon are right now, they won't have a lot of moves learned. That is a fact. But as you level them up, you'll not only be able to learn more moves for them, but I'll also allow Zisu in the village at the training grounds to teach your Pokemon some more moves."
Tale would stay out of that conversation, mainly because three of the Pokemon Lego's characters had were all from different regions, so that would pose a problem. But, Lego probably had a plan, so Tale would leave him be.
"Alright, I think I understand," Tanjiro told his teachers. Everyone else agreed.
"Good, now let's get this underway!" Lego said. "To begin your training, you'll each be heading off to find a Bidoof, Starly, and Shinx to either defeat, or capture. We'll know if you're actually doing it or not because I actually have my Staraptor flying above." Lego pointed up into the sky, and everyone saw a bird flying around. It was indeed a Staraptor, though Tale could barely make out its Shiny appearance due to it flying high into the sky and sun blinding him.
They would discuss Shiny Pokemon at a later date, no doubt about it.
"And… ready set go," Lego said, before the five trainers ran out to the field to catch the Pokemon they needed.
Tale sat down on a log right next to the campfire at the camp and looked at Lego. "So, how long do you think it'll take them?"
"If we're being realistic and not using our method of time, and instead think about the in universe time," Lego began. "Then most likely it would be an hour at the very least, 3 at the most"
"Hmm," Tale hummed in acknowledgement.
"Why do you ask?" Lego began. "Did you want to battle me?"
"I am not exactly equipped for that," Tale said. "Though I probably would still give you a challenge."
"Honestly, I think you would win against me," Lego replied. "I may be a good trainer, but I'm not the best there is. I'd argue that you're a better trainer than me," Lego told his fellow author.
"I dunno, it's very well possible," Tale retorted. "But, that's neither here nor there. Because as of now… we wait."
Lego nodded, as the two sat in silence, and waited for the trainers to return.
Boy, would this be an interesting arc.
Alright, end of the chapter!
Again, huge shoutouts to the homie, the myth, the legend, Talespinner69 for featuring in this chapter. And I am being honest when I say that Tale could beat me in a Pokemon Battle. That is not me overestimating him, this is me acknowledging the years he's put into being a Pokemon trainer, which is a fact.
Although, I would still like to battle Tale one day. That would be interesting to see.
Also, for my team right now that I have on hand, it goes as follows:
Aqua (Samurott, Male), Gardevoir (Alpha, Male), Darkrai (yes, cause this is my favorite mythical), Lucario (Alpha, Male), Luxray (Female), Giratina (Origin Forme).
Mind you, they aren't max level at all. Luxray is actually the lowest level of them all. The only real change to the team was the last three being added, and me getting rid of Arceus, who I had actually caught before I took a break from Legends: Arceus.
Well, see you all later.
