The single light in the holding cell buzzed and flicker for a few seconds before stopping and turn off. Then ten seconds later came back on.
The cell wall was concrete brick paint baby blue. An aluminum sink/toilet was in the back of the cell with a dull aluminum mirror above it. The only other thing in the cell was a concrete slab with a rubber matt on it.
They took his blood-soaked clothes and gave him a t-shirt and Jean's to wear. Then for the next two hours, the question him about the attack. When they were done he was put in a holding cell. Jacob was happy to be left alone.
He just focuses on the buzzing of the lights and calms his mind.
Then Jacob leaned back against the wall with his eyes closed and allow himself to doze off.
Kratos was alone in his private temple of Olympus. A blood-red flame illuminated the area. He was sitting below the statue of his image. A fifty-foot tall statue made of bronze that resembles Kratos down to his tattoo and scars.
It's been two and fifty hundred years since Kratos killed Ares. Two hundred and fifty hundred years since he became the new God of War.
Kratos was sitting against one of the many pillars. His eyes were closed and the only thing he could was rustling of the flames. His mind was calm. Then he heard screaming.
"Kratos!"
"Father!"
"AAAHHH!"
Kratos gritted his teeth.
"Kratos! What are you doing? STOP!"
"FATHER!"
Their scream grew louder and louder. Then everything quiet.
"What have I done?"
Kratos began breathing rapidly.
"WHAT HAVE I'VE DONE!"
"Kratos!"
Kratos eyes shot open and saw Hermes standing before him. The younger looking god was look at him curiously. Hermes usually appeared as young man in twenties to thirties. Light hair and mischievous eyes.
"Kratos?" Hermes said, "Hellooo, Ghost of Sparta?"
Kratos let out a low growl.
"Oh good, you can hear me. Listen we have a council merting in ten. Everybody has to be there, everybody!"
Kratos just stare back at Hermes for five seconds before answering.
"I'll be there."
"Alrighty then, see ya there." Hermes said then disappeared as blur.
Kratos groaned. He hated meetings, all they did was complain and argue over the same trivial matters over and over. Zeus cheating, Hera nagging, Hermes stealing, and Apollo being... Apollo.
He groaned again, got up and look at his statue. It lifeless eye bore down him. He hated it. It had the same eyes he did.
He teleported to his bathhouse and made his way to the giant water fountain in the center. He quickly wash off his face. Kratos look at his reflection in the water, his own amber eyes look back at him. Lifeless as the statue.
'I really don't to go that meeting," Kratos thought, 'but if I don't Athena will complain about him not taking my role seriously. '
Kratos let out sign and teleported to the throne room.
He was right, they just complained about the same nonsense.
"You cheated on me didn't you!" Hera screeched.
"I did no such thing!" Zeus harrumphed.
"Apollo! Stop trying to seduce my huntressess!" Artmeis growled at her twin. Apollo gave her his trademark arrogant smirk.
"Well sister, stop having some of the fineness maidens in your in hunt." Apollo leaned back in his throne with most proud look on his perfect face.
Hermes was constantly flipping his favorite coin over and over.
Hephaestus was polishing a shield. "Damn it, the smudge is just not going away." He began to scrub harder.
Athena grey eyes were on Kratos empty throne.
It was the winter solstice so Hades was allow to attended, not having a throne Hades sat next to Hestia on her hearth. Demeter eyed him like predatory bird.
"Notice me Hades!" She cried.
"Huh? You say something Demeter?" Hades asked.
"Yes! Notice- "
"Where is Kratos? The meeting started five minutes ago." Zeus cut in.
"I told him ten minutes before the meeting," Hermes said catching his coin once more, it was tails. "Made sure to give him some extra time to get ready." He caught his coin again, tail once more.
"He always the last one to arrive." Said Poseidon sharpening the prongs on his trident.
Then a puff of red and black smoke appeared and Kratos was now in his throne. All eyes were on him now. The twins stop arguing, Hermes putted away his coin, and Hephaestus setted aside his shield.
"You late again Kratos." Hera said stating the obvious.
"I suppose I am." The new God of War replied.
"Alright let began this meeting," Poseidon said.
Zeus began reviewing everyone work over the year, Poseidon created several new island off the south coast and destroyed a kingdom for not giving proper tributes.
Apollo unleashed a new plague in the east, over six thousand death. He said he'll stop in eight months.
Demeter curses an group of travelers for accidentally cutting down one of scared trees. They managed to reduce the curse by agreeing to take care of her sacred grove for the next hundred and fifty years.
Hades caused an earthquake in the north. Hera ended a political marriage and looks like a civil war was going to happen. Aphrodite disagree with Hera decision, so she went to fix the marriage. She would not be joining the meeting.
Artemis cursed a village in the southeast for killing a rare beast she was hunting. The women are now infertile.
Hephaestus made a new type of armor and gave to one to a king he like. Now the king was particularly invincible by mortal standard and was on war path conquering the central of Greece.
Half-way through Kratos zone out, it was always like this, the Olympians committing acts they deem right. Either it smiting those had wrong them or blessing those just to get what they wanted.
But gods were in the right to do these acts, why? Because they had the power to do so, they were powerful, limitless, their strength is eternal, they were eternal. So they should act as they are! Right! Right?
Right. Right...
"Kratos? Kratos!" Zeus called. Kratos eyes reopen and turn toward Zeus. All eyes on him again. They waited for his response. They were different around him. The Olympians watched him as he was some kind enigma.
"Kratos the war in the northeast, you have ended it yes?" Zeus asked.
The Olympians waited for Kratos. The war he was talking a out was between two cities that were fighting over territory. The war had been going on for four years now.
"No." Kratos answer. Some murmurs began.
"What do you mean no? I told you that I want that war ended" Zeus asked annoyed. "Why haven't you ended it?"
Kratos waited a moment, "I believe that the war needs to go on for two more year."
Zeus look bewildered at the God of War respond. "What do you mean?"
Kratos saw the looks he was getting. With the exception of Zeus and Athena the rest of gods gave Kratos very disapproving looks.
"If the war go on for a few more years, at least two more, then the best results will happen." Kratos said.
Many of the gods were about to question his decision, the first being the King of the Underworld himself.
"What? Best results? So many of have died already. Not just soldiers, but citizens of the cities and villagers in the neighboring areas!" Hades said clearly anger at Kratos.
"If I ended the war now it would not change anything between the cities, another war between would just start in a year or so." Kratos counter Hades.
"Then prevent that war from starting, duh!" Apollo said leaning to the left on his throne.
"Plus if this war continues other cities and kingdom could get involved." Said Demeter twirling a strand of her golden hair.
"Yes I plan for that to happen as well." Kratos turned to Demeter who froze under his cold eyes.
"Wait! What?" Said Poseidon.
"You can't be serious!" Hermes said in disbelief.
"Typical male aggressive." Artmies said shaking her head in disapproval.
The of the Olympians began to voice their complaints and disagreements to the God of War whom stood on his choices.
Then a loud clang rang though out the throneroom. All eyes were on Athena, the clang was from her hitting her spear against her shield. The rest of the Olympians hope she would talk some sense into the Kratos. She was the Goddess of War and one of two gods who Kratos actually listen too.
Athena made her spear and shield disappeared. She waited to make sure everyone was ready.
"Now then, Kratos you plan for this war to continue for two more years," Athena begin, "and you believe that best results were happen?"
Kratos simply reply with a "Yes."
Athena continued "Plus by my calculations eight more cities will join in the conflict, right?"
"Actually ten." Kratos said.
"Ten?" Athena raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, some alliance have been formed recently." Kratos said.
Hades stood in protest "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! That would be the entire northeast at war! Potentially hundreds of thousands would be kill as a result!"
"A million." Kratos said. This got everybody attention.
"Excuse me!?" Hades said " A million!?" Hestia got up and try help Hades calm down.
"Hades, your going to have another panic attack." Hestia said tugging on his sleeves, "Please calm down." Hades look down into his sister pleading eyes. Hades let out a sign and sat back down on hearth and Hestia sat down next to him.
Kratos felt the tension around him. This was always the same when he was around, they saw him as Ares, just another war loving brute. Except he knew that he was seen as lesser. Ares was born a god, and Kratos was born a mortal.
They saw him as a lesser being. Hera and Demeter saw him as a brute, Apollo and Hermes did their best to avoid him, Artemis saw him just another male, even through she once trust him with her personal blade.
Hephaestus and Hestia were more civil with him, but even they kept their distance from him. Kratos and Athena were war gods so the did spend quite some time together.
Aphrodite kept giving him "Fuck me" eyes.
The big three always kept an eye on him, maybe they saw him as a great warrior. Or they saw him as a volcano that was about to go off.
The chatter in the room grew.
"Silence." Zeus called and everybody quieted down. Zeus, beside Athena, was one of the few who treated him as a Olympian instead as the replacement Ares.
"Kratos what will be the end result of this war?" Zeus said.
"The prevention of eight future wars across greece." Kratos stated. "Including the civil war that Hera has cause."
"Wait! I didn't cause a war! I just ended a marriage!" The Queen cried out.
Several shifted in theirs seats. Hermes decided to speak out "Well um Hera," Hermes rub the back of his neck.
"Yes Hermes!" Hera glared that the Messenger.
"Well you ended a political marriage, you know that was meant to united people." Hermes said.
This catch Hera off guard. She could be rash sometimes.
Hera quickly gather composer. "Well that doesn't matter, Aphrodite went to fix it anyway."
"Really? Were going to trust Aphrodite to fix this?" Kratos said sterling.
Before anybody was about say anything, they knew Kratos was right.
Most likely Aphrodite got distracted by some pretty clothes, setting up a couple, or was currently on her hands and knees taking it from behind.
Hera look flustered that the fact for a brief moment that she trusted the airheaded Love Goddess.
Many of the gods began laughing. For once they were on Kratos side.
Zeus patted his embarrassed wife hand, "There, there dear we all make mistakes now and then." He chuckled.
The laughter ended, Zeus ponder on Kratos decision, he knew that new God of War wasn't like the old one. Kratos had been doing his best to show he was nothing like Ares. Kratos would seek the best solution to end conflict, Ares would find way to prolong it.
"Hmmm, alright Kratos continue with the war, but I want Athena to aid you and make sure that everything turns out like you say," Zeus said," Do you understand?"
Kratos just nodded. Athena gave him a small smile.
Zeus decided to continue with the next objective; the armor that Hephaestus gave to that king.
When the meeting was over Zeus dismissed everyone except for his brothers. A private meeting between kings.
Kratos made his way to his temple when he was stop by Athena. "I would for us to go over your plans." Kratos move around Athena. "Later, I got an errand to run." He could feel her gaze upon him. He started to walk away.
"I know what today is," the Wisdom Goddess said, " Today is the day that you-" she stop when she notice how tightly he was clenching his fist, enough for his ichor to flowing.
"Athena," she felt a chill when he spoke, "I would greatly appreciate it if you mind your own affairs and leave me to my privacy." His voice was like ice.
He began to walk again. "Kratos, you are still having nightmares aren't you?" Damn woman, couldn't she take a hint. But that was Athena for you.
Kratos had half a mind to snap at her and tell her to fuck off, but she was the only god who actually trusted him. Ever if was a just a little. Plus she was right, he was still having nightmares about that day.
"Athena," Kratos turn to face to her. Athena was know to remain calm and stoic even in the most dire of stitutions but ever she couldn't help but feel the cold sweat forming. Her mind became the moment he began turning.
"Athena," he said again. "Y-yes Kratos," she stuttered she never stuttered. But she did managed to keep calm.
"We as Olympians are above from judgement from certain actions, yes?" Kratos started.
"Yes, yes we are." Athena knew where he was going at.
"We can take from mortals, punish them as we see fit, and even out right destroy them if we decided so, yes?" Kratos amber were hard.
Athena swallow and said "Yes, as gods we have the right to decide the fate of mortal as we see fit."
"We dont ever feel guilty over our actions, why is that?" Athena raised an eyebrow curiously. What did he mean? They were gods their decision were on dealing with mortal didn't involved grief or guilt. He also already answered his own question.
"Kratos as the Gods of Olympus it is our position to maintain the order of the world," Athena said sternly "Our decision are for the best for the world and mortals that inhabit it, a mortal who doesn't know their place is a danger to the order we have established."
Kratos glare didn't change. Athena felt his stare go right through her.
"Even mortals who have accomplished great deeds are because the gods have lend their help, such as yourself before you because a god." Athena knew she threading onto a sensitive topic. "Don't forget it was us who help you defeat Ares."
Kratos glared at Athena with great intensity. "I believe your wrong Athena."
"Excuse me!" Athena gasped. There were certain things you didn't say to the gods. One was telling Athena that she was wrong. "You got some nerve some nerve talking to me like that!"
Kratos didn't back down, "Careful your hubris might get out of control."
Athena gritted her teeth angrily. Kratos walk up to her. "First it was I who collected the Pithos and kill Ares, was it you who driven sword into Ares heart no?"
Athena try to counter back "Well no but we gave the spell and tools needed for your quest!"
"Spells and tools I rarely used, I prefer my Blades of Chaos. I am also the one who conquered Pandora temple and escaped from under world, yes?"
Athena felt back into a corner. "Yes but-"
"But nothing, while I avoided the traps and obstacles of the temple and crawled myself out Hades while you just sat on your throne watching, not very helpful."
Athena had nothing to say. Kratos was right, he completed the temple on his own and escape the underworld.
"Second, the reason you don't feel guilt is that your hubris won't allow it." Kratos said. "My reason for feeling guilty is that I killed my wife and child. I would have to soulless not to feel grief over what I have done."
"Kratos that wasn't your fault! Ares made you go mad." Athena said.
"No! It is my fault," Kratos growled, "If I haven't sworn my loyalty that day, they wouldn't have died and I wouldn't be here!"
The both were silent, Kratos calmed himself.
Athena was speechless.
"I wouldn't be here." He said again. He wasn't looking her now his eyes aim to the right.
"You... you don't want to be a god?" Athena asked. Kratos let out a sign.
"It clear that I dont belong here." Kratos said somberly, "it's clear that they dont want me here."
"Kratos," Athena could feel his sorrow. She knew that has been trying his best to be the new God of War and knew no matter what he did the rest of the Olympians continued to look down on him.
"Kratos if anyone has proved themselves it you. You are superior compared to Ares." Athena said.
"Ares just wanted power and bloodshed, you, you actually take your position seriously and look for the best solution."
Kratos felt a little better. Athena's word had gotten through.
Then the memories of gods with contempt or pity in their eyes. They were all waiting for him to falter and prove he was just another Ares. To prove that he was a failure. And once more he felt alone.
Kratos turn away from Athena and continued on but was stop when place her hand on his shoulder. Her hand was soft and delicate, how does the War Goddess have such soft hands?.
"You are not Ares, and the other gods are moronic for not seeing that." Athena voice was kind. Kratos couldn't believe that same stoic woman was the one showing him kindness.
"Thank you Athena." Kratos gentily brushed her hand away. "Excuse I need to attend to my errand now."
"Would you... would you like some company?" She asked gently.
"...No, I need to be alone for this." Kratos said. Athena actually look disappointed, but she was understanding. Athena began leave.
"Athena, meet me at my temple tonight, we need to go over my plans for the war." Kratos said.
Athena smiled, "I will be there." She then disappeared. Kratos made his to his temple.
Jacob open his eyes slowly as he hear his cell door open. Two guards standing in the door way.
"Sir, we need you to come with us." The left guard spoke. Jacob just nodded.
He got up and follow the guards. What did they want? He already to them everything.
"What is it?" Jacob asked as he looked at passing cells. Some were still asleep. "I've already told you everything." The guards didn't answer. The made to the end of the hall were a giant metal security door separated the cells from the rest of the station.
The right guards a button below a speaker. "This is Sanchez were ready to get out."
"Roger." Said a static voice.
CLANK!
The door began to outwards and the guards led Jacob out. On the other side was a officer with bulletproof windows and three more guards.
The guard behind the glass spoken in to microphone "Sir, we can not return your clothes due to being cover in, um, evidence, but we can return your possession. There a metal cabinet below the window, just reach in."
Jacob nodded and pull out the cabinet, in plastic bag were his wallet, wristwatch, dogtags, and the space marine figurine.
After gaining his possessions back he followed the guards. The lead him the through the station.
After getting into an elevator and going up three floor they made to there destination; the chief of police office.
"Right in here sir." Said the guard of left. The guard on the right of the door and guided him in.
When Jacob got in, they closed the door behind him. Three men were in the room, one sitting at a desk stack with papers and two men in uniform in front.
"There he is, there my boy!" Their he was; General Clarence La Rue. He was build like linebacker and tall as basketball player. A man well in his sixties with small eyes and a rough face from years on the battlefield. Grey hair cut into a flat top and his chest had a great deal of metals on it.
La Rue step towards Jacob with his arms out. Jacob easily avoided the welcoming and the General just hugged air. "Still not open to hugs are ya boy?"
"No sir." Jacob groaned. Memories of the General went through his mind, the know each for over fifteen years now. La Rue was his handler and would be the one to give him his missions.
"At ease boy," La Rue straighten himself, "Now then you gotten yourself in some trouble now ya hear, kill some guys last night didn't you?"
"The try to mug me, so I kill them." Jacob responded. La Rue smirked and laughed a little. "Of course you did. Your were train to kill any threat."
Jacob turned to the two other men. The one standing was Brazilian, and judging by the amount of metals he was the rank of General as well. He looked to be in his thirties, handsome with a thin mustache.
"Jacob This here is General Robert Valentino, he the one who requested your services to get rid of that 'problem'."
Valentino put out his hand. "It an honor to meet you Mr.Williams. I'm fan of your work."
Jacob took his hand and shook. He had a good grip. Analyzing his presence Jacob could tell that was quite the soldier himself. This man has seen battle before. Probably has scars under his uniform.
"I on behalf of the Brazilian government want to thank you for services." Valentino continued to shake Jacob hand.
"If your thankful for what I did, why did I meet at the naval base?" Jacob asked.
Valentino chuckled, "I'm the man who keep that base running, I'm a very busy man," Valentino pull away "But when I heard my old friend Clarence was visiting I thought make some free time."
La Rue laughed, "Robert and I have know each other many years now."
"Hmmm." Jacob groaned. No one here was a threat to him. In this room and the rest of the station. If he wanted to he could just walk out. No one would be able to stop him.
"Are you three done? Because I have meeting with my staff in fifteen minutes and my stomach not agreeing with me today." Jacob turn to man behind the desk; the Police Chief of Sao Paulo.
Chief. Sliver, a small man with grey hair and bag under his eyes stare at his three guests.
"Jacob this is Chief Sliver, he looking pass last incident and letting you go." La Rue spoke.
Jacob walk up to desk met eyes with Chief. "Why? I killed nine men."
The Chief toke a cigar, lit it and took a puff. "Because I know who you are and I know what your capabilities are." He dumped the ashes into a tray. "The stories I've heard, my men wouldn't stand chance against you, Ghost."
'That name! Ghost! Why call me that!'
"Why did you call me that?" Jacob was little alert but manage to remain calm.
La Rue coughed into his fist and Jacob turn to him. That what he always did to get Jacob attention.
"Jacob, Ghost is your code name remember?" La Rue said, "Also our enemies only now you by that name,"
Memories came him. Around the world, war zones, the criminal underworld, and other dark areas on earth, one man was feared by by even the by most evil and wicked people on earth; the Ghost.
Unseen, untouchable, unbeatable, and inescapable. Terrorists, warlords, criminals, and dictators feared him. Some even hand themselves over to the authorities to avoid him.
Jacob looked at Police Chief. The man remained stotic but sweating, the room was cold. Valentino was stiff and alert. The only one who wasn't on guard was La Rue.
"Well Chief if everything is in order we'll be leaving now." La Rue said.
"Yes, everything is all right, and Mr.Williams, dont worry about last night incident, as far as I am concern all you did as get rid of some rats." Chief Sliver finished of his cigar and dump the last ashes in the tray.
The La Rue and Valentino shooked the Chief hand and left the office with Jacob behind them.
Their limousine waiting for them outside. The three men got in with La Rue and Valentino sitting across each other and Jacob sitting in the back.
"Thank you for getting my boy out there Robert, save us alot of trouble." La Rue said as he lean back.
"Think nothing of it," Valentino said with a raised hand "I'm just glad that Sliver knew who was dealing with, he can be a real hard ass sometimes."
La Rue and Valentino began talking about grandchildren, La Rue granddaughter, Clarisse gotten into another fight and kick out her daycare. Jacob lean back and closed his eyes again.
"IT'S THE GHOST OF SPARTA! RUN!"
Blood, fire, bodies everywhere.
A ghostly pale man rampage through the burning city as civilians ran from the marked warrior.
"Jacob? Jacob! Jacob wake up!"
Jacob slowly open his eyes to La Rue looking at him.
"We're back at the base, come on."
Jacob just groaned and got out of the limousine.
Back at base. Back at square fucking one.
"I'm going to my room." Jacob just wanted lie in bed and either enjoy peaceful blackness or horrible memories of his past. He just want to forget that he existed.
"Well, rest up then we're leaving tomorrow early." La rue said. "Your next mission already assigned, warlord in Africa."
"Hmmm." The Ghost groaned. He just wanted to be left alone. What is he suppose to do. Two weeks after finding out who he is and what has he done, went out drinking, didn't even get drunk, and kill a couple of thugs.
And not a single answer on why he alive, if the Olympians are even alive. Jacob hope that their all rotting in the infinite void that is Chaos.
And for once he wanted something sweet.
'First thing get a snack, second figure out everything else' Jacob just wanted a distractions from everything.
After a bit of searching he found a vending machine. C-six, Reese cups. Perfect.
Jacob put his money in the machine. It made a whirling noise and spat the money back out.
He groaned and put the money back in it and it was spat back out.
'Just take the damn money.'
It spat the money back out.
'I just want a snack.'
The money came back out.
'Stop it.'
It still wouldn't take the money. Jacob felt heat go through his body. Anger growing. His fist clenched.
'No, I'm not going to lost my temper over a machine, one last try and I'm leaving.'
Jacob put the money back in the vending and this time it accepted it.
He let out sign of relief. And pushed C-six, reese cups, the little conveyor belt move up to the self and Jacob watch as the wrong item drop and move into the dispenser. He pick up what the vending machine gave me.
Raisins, he was given raisins. The vending machine kept refusing his money and then gave him the wrong item.
All Jacob could say was "Huh."
What kind of vending machine give out raisins?
Doctor Bowman heard Jacob was back. That he was also arrested. For what she didn't know. She just hope he was alright.
Pablo and his friends came back as drunk as Dionysus on his cheat day. And this morning she gave them quite the scolding, a very loud scolding. She hope the message got through, they had massive hangovers, she also made sure to slam the door on her way out.
The small blonde Doctor suddenly wanted a snack. Their was vending machine that was tricky, you had push the number buttons twice or else you'll get the wrong item. It had her favorite cookies in it though.
As Bowman mad her way down, she notice a crowd of staff and patients gather around.
Bowman made through to see what was going on. When she got to the front she saw what got everybody attention.
The vending machine was completely destroyed. Just destroyed. Chips, cookies and candy bar were scatter across the hall. The hallway was also destroyed. Holes were punch in the wall, the floor titles were ripped out. The ceiling lights had been ripped out. A bench was handing through the window.
Everyone could feel the aggression still in the air. Bowman knew what had happened. Only one man was capable of this. She had seen many outbursts, patients who would have a fit and break things around them. But not to this degree.
It had to be Jacob Williams.
Jacob sat watched the boats in the harbor. The sound of the water and seagulls was peaceful. He took the wrapper off a Reese's and ate it.
After the incident with the vending machine he decided that he needed some alone time. He grab a handful of Reeses Cups packaged and thought the water would help him relax.
"You have something want to say Doctor" Jacob said, he felt her presence from a good distance.
Bowman froze, she thought that the Hunters of Artemis were freakishly alert, but this guy.
Bowman collected herself and sat down next her giant patient.
"How are you Jacob?" She asked gently.
Jacob let out a groan, "could be better."
"The vending machine?" She raised an eyebrow.
"It gave me the wrong the item," Jacob ate another Reese's, " It gave me raisins."
"Raisins are not that bad." Bowman stiffed.
"It not what I wanted." Jacob groaned. He watched as a ship docked.
The two watch as the dock worker remove supplies and the ship hands leave.
"It nice out," Bowman tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "I was told your leaving tomorrow."
Jacob watch as a crane lift a giant craft off the ship. "Yeah, going to Africa, need to kill a warlord."
"Ah." She have no response for that. What do you even say to that, Hey cool, spend me a picture.
The two just sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Doctor Bowman I'm sorry for the trouble I have cause you."
That Bowman by surprise. Jacob continued, "You have been trying to help me and I just been an asshole."
Bowman really did not expect this she figure that the two of them would sit and barely talk. Just like the rest of their sessions.
"But still my problems are still my own, and I don't want you be involved in something that you dont need to be apart." Jacob said, "And truth is I dont know if my problems could ever be fixed.
Bowman place her hand on his shoulder. She really didn't know what to say to him. But she had to try something.
"Jacob what do you want? Do you really want?" She felt dumb asking him.
Jacob didn't answer her, still staring at the harbor. The he said something,
"What do you want La Rue?" Bowman turn around to see General La Rue walking through then.
"Looking for you boy, didn't expect you to be on a date." La Rue laughed.
"What do you want?" Jacob asked again.
"Still no sense of humor I see, well Valentino invented you and I to dinner and just wanted to see if your interested?"
Jacob groaned.
"Good, dinner at eight sharp." La Rue said.
"You can understand him?" Bowman asked.
"Doc when been around him as long as I have you too can learn his secret language as well."
Bowman was unsure if she wanted to know Jacob language.
La Rue turn to Bowman. "Doctor would you care to join us?"
"Me?" She asked.
La Rue smiled "Inviting you is the least I can do for keeping an eye on my boy."
She thought for moment, she had rumors that General Valentino did give lavished dinners for guests. A high quality meal did seem nice.
"Alright, what should I wear?" Emily Bowman was daughter of Apollo, besides the children of Aphrodite, children of Apollo love to dress up.
"Something formal, you well be having dinner with two high class generals." La Rue said with a wink.
"And one scary, giant of a man." Bowman look at Jacob who was still looking at the harbor.
"Yeah who could kill us if felt like it." General La Rue was also watching him.
