One week later Issei went to meet with the Royal Vampires using his Balance Breaker and offered them a deal and after seeing him in his golden armor and dragon wings the Vampires were willing to negotiate.
It was not long after that Issei received word that three Dhampir were being held against their will by Vampire royalty, it was not hard to understand why would they do this, they wanted to gain possession of the Sacred Gear Valerie Tepes had, the holy grail something so powerful that could be used to resurrect the dead.
Issei when talking with the three became rather good friends with them, Gasper was a little odd at first but after Issei got to know him, it was quickly something he understood and they got along great, his sister was a little overprotective but after seeing his good intentions her concerned were no longer an issue, and Valerie enjoyed talking with Issei on how to improve the ways Vampires and Dhamphirs could get along with others and even deal with several of their weaknesses.
That is when they finally told him that the people that held them against their will would only let Valerie go free if she gave them her sacred gear, but considering how tied the sacred gear was to a person this was essentially impossible if forced to overuse the grail it would even lead to her death.
Issei used his time in the dungeon store and have been learning to create, and even exit dungeons from his uncle it didn't take him long to amass quite a bit of money which he immediately used in the dungeon shop to buy copies of the three holy grails that existed in the world.
It was then that he decided to meet with the person who wanted the grail and simply told him that if he was allowed to take Gasper, his sister, and Valerie and that they would be allowed to have their freedom, then he would give them three holy grails for them to use, however, he did warn them to use a holy item for anything evil and the price for doing so would be terrible.
Of course, he knew that these people would do whatever they could to guarantee their survival, even if that was something as foolish as making a deal with something like the Khaos Brigade, Issei knew far too well that this group would eventually release Trihexa, and that monster would stop at nothing to destroy everything in existence.
Any deal the vampires or any other group made with them to guarantee their survival at best was a stay of execution, and at worst they will die knowing that they helped to bring about the end of the world. Not many people remain sane after realizing that level of guilt.
Issei without even thinking about it brought Gasper, her sister Kaspera and their childhood friend Valerie to his family's home, it was large enough thanks to the many times his uncle helped his family by providing sagely and timely advice to improve their finances.
This allowed Issei and his siblings to learn about Vampires and Dhampir, and they became very good friends, Gasper even called Issei his big brother, and his sister was seen trying to catch a glimpse of Issei as he trained to master his sacred gear, Valerie was a very kind person who was more than willing to help around the house.
As the saying goes time flies when you are having fun, but as they each trained and learned together as friends, Gasper chose to join the peerage of Rias Gremory, and both Kaspera and Valerie would be accepted to train under the Goddess of the Hunt Artemis.
Issei this would give them better futures than they had before. It was not a major problem, thanks to the fact that he went around taking care of as many problems as the Khaos Brigade or others would cause.
The fact remains that it was because of this that he came to know the deities of other Pantheons, Shiva was largely a very sociable and friendly person, something he initially was worried about when he learned he is called the destroyer.
Zeus was not that happy to meet Issei, the cause was that Issei had without even knowing gotten the amorous attention of a few ladies that Zeus was thinking of having fun with, and because of Issei, Zeus would no longer be able to. Much to his chagrin and Hera's unadulterated glee, Zeus might not have been happy to meet him, but Hera and her daughters sure were.
Essentially that is how both Gasper's sister and his childhood friend found themselves being trained by Artemis since Issei did mention to the goddess that they could benefit from having better abilities to defend themselves, something that Artemis agreed with.
It was once such instance when he was visiting the home of two of his friends when he came to realize that the home was under attack, Shuri was being attacked by a devil who had malicious intent towards his friends, and using his enhanced hearing he got the gist of the situation as he got to the shrine that Shuri called home.
Her husband at the time was busy at the Grigory, so he was not present, it must have been the perfect chance for him to take these two for himself even if he had to kill the woman to do it, two hybrid girls half human and a half fallen angel, this creep couldn't ask for better minions or so his muttering told Issei as he walked towards the shrine.
When Shuri was about to be killed Issei immediately used his speed to try and save her as quickly as possible, but sadly he was only able to save his friends, and their mother was heavily injured, that is when Serafall Leviathan showed up almost like she had planned the entire thing, but knowing her Issei knew better than that, she didn't want the two girls to grow up without their mother, so Serafall decided to add her to her peerage using a mutation pawn piece that she simply was never going to use anyways.
Doing this allowed Shuri to be alive and continue to be with her daughters till they finally grew up since unlike all the other devils she didn't participate in the Rating Games at all, Serafall seeing the concerned look on Issei's face told him that it was suggested by a fellow Maoh that she should come and visit her since she would make a wonderful servant.
Issei of course asked who this Maoh that had suggested that was, and he couldn't help but laugh as she told him it was his uncle Sam. Issei spent some time with Shuri, Raynare, and Akeno who were still fighting each other to try and claim Issei for themselves, which Shuri found very funny. Hours later, her husband finally made it back home and was shocked to hear about everHours later,d in his absence. He thanked Issei and his uncle for being there for his family.
It has been a week since the attack from the Devil and it turns out the devil was the master of Shirone and Kuroka everything seemed to get back to normal when the Khaos Brigade came to kidnap the girls and the girls fled for their lives and met with Kokabiel altering their memories to forget that they were sisters and to make sure that they hated either the humans or fallen angels he sent both of them in two different directions for his plan for them to one day fight and kill each other which should set up a war he thinks.
The one that would hate humans would join the Grigori and is Raynare and the one that hated fallen angels were Akeno and she joined the Rias Gremory peerage.
Now Shirone and Kuroka Issei decided to meet both of them and convince one to eventually join the Khaos Brigade as a spy well the other would join Rias Gremory peerage and be given a new name to keep her safe the name was Koneko Toujou.
Issei from there went to a rather cold and very much different place, the feeling of the place was bone-chilling, had some unusual manners and ways to interact with people, but that was expected, Issei was sent to Norway, or at least that was what he thought, but instead, he was sent and found himself on a rainbow bridge that would have made the gay pride parade proud.
He was shocked and amazed that instead of going to Norway he was sent to another realm altogether, meaning he was sent to Asgard. He once recognized the place as he saw the women clad in armor and one of them was his official guide, she was nice enough to answer all his questions about the realm, manners, and proper etiquette, the last thing he wanted was to end up doing something that will make him feel like he put his foot in his mouth.
Odin was a bit intimidating to look at from out far, but as he was greeted he found the King to be rather jovial and even friendly, his brother however would turn out to be the least favorite Asgardian he would end up meeting.
The fact is that Loki initially thought he would get along great with him since Issei had a reputation of being both a troublemaker and quite the little pervert back in his school, turns out that those rumors were spread by other kids who didn't want girls to even pay attention to Issei, romantic sabotage if you will.
He was instead a very well-spoken, respectful, and courteous young man, he did everything he could to make the first impression they had of him to be a good one. Freya was very curious as to see what he would like to learn about magic, much to her shock it was everything. Issei had a voracious appetite for knowledge, people often joked that if he wasn't training in combat, he would have his face buried in a book.
Frigg found him to be a very helpful and adorable young man, she could see clearly how much Odin liked the boy, and Thor was not exactly shy in practically calling Issei his surrogate little brother, which of course means they got into more fights than either would like to admit. Odin decided since they loved to spar against each other so much he would have Thor train him in as many forms of melee combat as possible.
Yet another reason why Loki didn't like Issei, for the first two years Loki if asked about his opinion of Issei would say without even attempting to hide his disgust that Thor should drop the fake surrogate part of what he called him, cause they both were muscle-bound meatheads, the only thing missing to make the too look like brothers was a blonde wig.
Freya was a demanding teacher, and Odin expected excellence in those that study under him, to say that his magical training was harsh was easy to see, Heimdall often joked that maybe Issei will end up drinking Mead to deal with the academic pressure he is under. To which Issei told the man he can't drink since he wasn't of legal age to drink.
Heimdall liked the kid and told him, that no he wasn't of legal drinking age in Japan, but they weren't in Japan now where were they? Thor laughed at Issei's reaction and told him they have many types of Mead in Asgard and there is at least one that he knew of that was not illegal or would be illegal for young kids to drink, after all, he had drunk it since he was five.
Well, the training went on for five long years, and at first, he might find the way things happened to be odd, for example, the first year a girl named Val who turned out to be the White Dragon Empress challenged Issei to fight, and after losing she ran away screaming that this was not over, and kept doing this for four years before being sent to the Grigori and sadly for Issei he hasn't seen her in a year and things stopped being shocking after five years of training and living there, Issei got used to what he once called weird and became rather ordinary.
The fact is that in those five years he became good friends with many of the deities, well not Loki, for obvious reasons, Issei had been giving compliments to his daughters and two of his granddaughters, so that would make any guy a little concerned about the guy's intentions.
The thing is that he also did that and became really good friends with most of the Valkyries, which was first shocking since these ladies are if anything complete professionals in everything they do, and last but not least some of them have sneaked into his bedroom so placing seals and locks on his doors and windows was necessary.
Rossweisse was the one that did that and she did excuse her actions to Odin and his wife by mentioning that she did that because she wanted to make sure Issei was sleeping properly and she was worried for his health since he is a person from Midgard. Freya found this rather touching but Odin found it rather suspicious since she had been having a lot of private sparing matches and training.
Issei spent so much time sparring with the Valkyries and even retired Valkyries that Thor had to ask Issei to schedule a regular sparing time with him since according to what he told Odin he missed spending time with his surrogate little brother, which only served to be both an insult and anger Loki to no end. He never once said anything like that about his children.
It was finally time for Issei to return to the realm of humans, and with tears from quite a few women and a few men the time finally came that he had to return to his family, Freya and Odin had taught him every form of magic they knew, and he learned to fight with anything he put his hand on.
It was time for him to return home and showed his family how much stronger and more skilled he had become, and to get him away from Loki who Odin felt like his brother wanted to murder Issei for some odd reason, it might have something to do with the fact that according to Hel, she is only waiting for him to die and cross over to the afterlife because when that happens she will claim him for herself.
Issei met with his uncle and they both were sent near his home, it wasn't that he couldn't appear right in front of the front door it was that doing so would have set off all the security Sam had placed on the property if anything Issei knew his uncle had done everything he could to keep him and his family safe.
It was a short walk and it gave both Sam and Issei plenty of time to catch up on what each had been doing, Sam was doing stuff Issei considered useless and boring, but Sam knows not to take it to heart, and Issei told him of the many adventures he had while training with the Norse Patheon.
It was pretty bad in Sam's opinion, Issei without trying had basically flirted with quite a few goddesses and every single Valkyre he ever met. It was going to cause problems later, and he know that he would regret it if he didn't inform the people of the Grigori and the members of the alliance.
As soon as Issei walked into his home, Sam decided that it was time for them to have a warm family reunion, and so not wanting to intrude he left, besides he had a lot of things to tell the fallen angel governor and his fellow Maoh, some of which would not be like.
As Issei walked into the home he had to be amazed by how many renovations and improvements the house had since the last time he actually lived in it, apparently, Sam's investments gave them quite a bit of extra income to spruce up the place quite a bit.
As he finally made it to the living room he was met by several girls rushing to simply grab him and pull him into a group hug, his mother was in tears at the sight of this, and Issei was blushing redder than a tomato. Issei tried to calm his sisters down and he told them that he just got back from his time training with the Norse.
This made his mother fake a cough and told them that maybe they could discuss this during lunch since he did arrive when they were about to eat. Issei told her that would be great, but he made one mistake when he asked if he could have a mug of some honey mead with that, to which his mother said no since he was not of age to drink.
Issei knew that was one thing he was going to miss about Valhalla, it was called mead but it was generally not that alcoholic, and kids were allowed to drink it, but clearly, that was not legal in Japan. He then asked if he could at least have tea? Ice tea sure no problem, they were going to drink that anyways.
Issei knowing that many of the things would get in trouble with his mother or embarrassing to mention in front of his sisters decided to focus primarily on actually learning and training, which was a lot, since apparently, he grew an entire foot since last they saw him, and he appeared to have lost most if not all of his baby fat.
His mother asked why would he ask for Mead, and that is when he told them one thing, that he was allowed to drink tea, but most adults in Asgard actually have a mug of mead with each meal, the place was a lot colder than japan, he could only guess the drinking helped them deal with the cold.
His mother simply said that was a typical excuse from drunks, and that drinking would have no actual benefits for people that were in cold weather, they should have worn warmer clothes instead. Issei could only laugh because clearly, his mother had no idea how cold it felt to live there.
They ate their food as Issei kept them entertained about the many fun things and wonders he saw in the other realms just to make sure his mother didn't think it was all just one fun trip he did mention his grueling and nightmarish difficult training. But if he was honest the most difficult part was locking his windows and doors to prevent people from trying to sneak into his bed.
He didn't mention this, but there was one Valkyrie who pushed his training in both detection and concealment to the absolute maximum, he had to lock, seal, and even replace doors and windows to keep her from either trying to jump into bed with him to sleep with him or because she found his sleeping face adorable as she told him that she wanted to see him sleep.
Never mind that he did feel some sympathy towards him, after all, she was the only Valkyrie that was often mocked with the phrase that her age matches the number of years she had been without a boyfriend. Which Issei was surprising to him she would be the sort of girl any guy would take less than three seconds to try and get to be his girlfriend.
Sweet, kind, considerate, and quite pretty, most mothers would be happy to see this girl being presented to them by their son as their girlfriend. to which said mother would embarrass the living daylights out of him by showing her every single baby picture she ever took.
Well according to his mother he still had to attend one more years of middle school before he moved into the high school division of Kuoh Academy, and as far as she knew, he didn't study many contemporary subjects while training with the Norse Pantheon or so she believed. So in order to catch up, she and his sisters would help him study to catch up to his current grade every single day after he returned from school.
So Issei basically will have classes both during the day and night, until he finally catches up with the curriculum of his current year. It was not exactly what he wanted to hear, and yes, he actually read quite a few things in the Norse Library, which was massive, so he felt a little insulted by the insinuation that he wasn't ready for his current year of schooling.
Much to their shock he only had one objection to their idea, and that was that he be tested with any test questions they could think of, and it didn't matter if it was from the year he will attend or higher, but Issei told his family present that he would show them that he was no slacker when it came to his education.
To his mother, this felt like a challenge, and to his sisters the most wonderful opportunity to knock their brother off his high horse. His mother was friends with the teachers and after a quick phone call, they each came delivering one box after other containing tests, for each subject of every grade she asked for all the way up to the year he was going to attend.
His sisters were more merciless than that, and instead asked their friends who were the children of college teachers to send to them copies of their most difficult and hard tests, tests that would make people in college cry from reading them.
As he saw the boxes sat down by a table with a pen and as he cracked open the box, the began to answer one page after another, he didn't stop for three days, he went through all the boxes and answered every single question, he only rested for food, sleep, and bodily needs, and at the fourth day, the people that brought the boxes came and took them back.
By Saturday they were all graded and to the shock of all the teachers and professors they were graded with a perfect score on each and every test, the sisters were shocked and their friends were constantly being pestered by their parents to know who it was this Issei Hyoudou that answered the tests.
The sisters didn't tell their mother that they had sneaked in boxes with college-level exams because they were embarrassed that their little plot to knock their brother a few notches came back and backfired on them.
Well, this made them all relax wondering why the hell could he pass those exams, to which Issei told him he had read every single book in a massive library and could remember everything in those books thanks to several skills he had due to one of his sacred gears.
And the sad thing is that it wasn't a lie, the gamer gear actually could allow the gamer to learn that quickly, to some people it might be like he was flipping through the books but he would actually learn that fast. That is the only reason he managed to read every single book in that massive library by the time he returned to his family after all.
The next Monday he went to school and was introduced as a transfer student since apparently they made it sound like he was someone who was home schooled but never mentioned the reason for it. They couldn't actually tell them the reason as if it would involve them basically telling them that he was trained by Odin, his family, and all of his elite warriors, which would cause massive jealousy.
It didn't take him long to become good friends with Matsuda who appears to have a twice critical sacred gear and Motohama who appears to have an analysis sacred gear that appears on his eyes basically his glasses to everyone else that didn't know any better.
Issei knowing that these two would be a major problem later decided to ask them if they wanted to have some fun, and as he expected his two friends did tell him that they were all for it. They were shocked when they saw a window appear out of nowhere and asked them if they wanted to join his party, reminded of a video game gimmick they both agreed.
That is when they learned two harsh truths the definition of fun depends on the individual, and in Issei's case it involved a lot of training, sweating, and pain, he took them to several dungeons where they learned basic martial arts, some kendo, and got the ethics of a knight basically drilled into their very souls, almost like Issei wanted to squash the possibility of them being perverts.
And if there was anyone that can teach these two the ethics of knighthood and squash the idea of ever being a pervert, Arturia Pendragon, the King of Camelot was the perfect person for the job, and they managed to learn martial arts by training under Master Roshi, of course after they finished their training with Arturia.
As Matsuda and Motohama were training, Issei was talking with Arturia as she watched the two fight and defeat training monsters within the dungeon she was asked how exactly she was getting along with the Excalibur piece known as Excalibur Ruler, which made Arturia other than her sword expressing a desire to be whole again she was doing great.
As they left the dungeon Matsuda and Motohama having learned all these things, as they each left towards their home, Issei decided to have dinner and after taking a bath he went to sleep, the strange thing was that he had a horrible dream of what had happened to him in a previous life and seeing himself being killed by Raynare.
Two years later he was actually talking with his two friends asking why they even bother enrolling in the Kuoh Academy, the two friends said that because the school was pretty much an all-girls school and it would be a heaven for those that wanted to have a relationship with a girl, but sadly one of them were still single as Issei was trying very hard not to laugh as he saw Rias wave at him as she was looking at him through the window of the Club room.
