So this is the next story from this DC universe, which I call "Earth V" (V doesn't stand for five!). That's the reason why you will notice some changes to the canon from the comics. For example this story, while technically is not based into the world of the Teen titans TV series, will still have a lot of elements from it. Hope you will enjoy.

Also, the story takes place shortly before, during and after the events from "Scythe".

chapter 1: Blue and pink

The roar of a motorcycle echoed through the streets of Jump city. The driver was swiftly avoiding all the other vehicles on their way, already seeing their target. The driver stopped on the street that was going alongside the coastline and looked toward one of the islands at Jump city's bay, where a tall tower shaped in the form of a "T" was stationed.

The driver took down his helmet to reveal a young man with black hair. This was Dick Grayson, formerly known as "Robin", now going by "Nightwing". He was carrying a big sports sack on his back, from which he pulled out is wallet. Inside it was an old picture. It wasn't that old, but it definitely wasn't taken yesterday. One of its corners was missing and there were a few cracks on it, but the image was still unharmed.

The image itself was showing a big teen boy, who's body was almost completely robotic. He had a big smile on his face and his two big arms were wrapped around his four friends. This robot boy was Victor Stone (A.K.A Cyborg). His left arm was wrapped around two teenage girls. One was tall smiling girl with orange skin, pink hair and big eyes with green irises. This was the alien princess known as Starfire (though her real name Koriand'r). The other girl's face was hidden by a purple hood and only her mouth and eyes were visible. All her face was saying was "Whatever". This was Raven, the daughter of one of the most powerful demons in the galaxy, but still a good friend nevertheless.

Cyborg's right arm was wrapped around two teenage boys. One was Dick himself back when he was Robin. He was the one who was taking the picture with his camera (back then cellphones with cameras weren't that common). The boy next to Robin had green skin and hair and was using one of his hands to give "bunny ears" to Robin. This was Garfield Logan (A.K.A Beast boy).

Dick smile at the picture. This was his team back then. The Teen titans! They were the first group of teenagers to form a team. He remembered all the triumphs and tragedies that the team had to endure, but those hardships only made them stronger.

The titans had changed over the years however. Nowadays only Beast boy and Starfire were still in the team. Cyborg was the first to leave. His dream was to become a member of the Justice league and when Superman offered him a membership he couldn't refuse it. The rest of the titans weren't happy (Beast boy in particular) but they knew how much Vic wanted to be part of the league. After that the team got a new member: Wonder woman's protégé Wonder girl (real name: Cassandra "Cassie" Sandsmark). An year after Cyborg, Raven left the team too. The demon side of her was getting stronger and stronger and she left with Doctor Fate in order to find a way to beat her (literal) demons. Shortly afterwards the Teen titans had to welcome a new member, one who had a lot to learn about himself and the world: Superman's clone Superboy. The team took him in and even gave him a real name: Connor Kant.

But perhaps the biggest blow for the team was the loss of their leader: Nightwing. After a few mistakes that almost cost the lives of the titans Dick felt like he wasn't suitable to be a leader anymore. He felt like Starfire would make a better leader and so he left for Bludhaven. However the titans didn't stay without a member of the Bat family for long. Soon Red Robin joined them.

But since Red Robin was now in Gotham to help Batman*, Dick decided it was time to visit and help his old team. He wasn't sure how they would react though. Gar was very upset when Nightwing left the team and from what Red Robin had told him, Beast boy wasn't exactly welcome. He was even saying that Dick is dead to him. The fact that he hadn't visited in one year wasn't helping either. It wasn't like he didn't want to visit them, he just didn't have time.

All these thoughts were going throug Dick's head as he was in the elevator of the Titans' tower. The elevator "dinged" and the doors opened to reveal the titans' living room. And luckily for Dick all of the titans were there. Beast boy was playing some video game on the TV. Starfire and Wonder girl were talking about something and Superboy was eating chips while watching Beast boy play. But they all stopped doing what they were doing and looked at the new arrival.

Dick was wondering what to tell them.

"Uuuuu,hello...Dick here..." okey, this didn't sound good.

There were a silence and then...

"DICK!" Wonder girl yelled happily. She ran to Dick and caught him in a crushing hug. The other titans soon came too.

"Ugh,nice to see you too, Cassie!" Dick said while struggling to breathe "Can you...release me from the deadly hug, please?"

"Oh, sorry!" Cassie quickly released him, a little ashamed of he actions.

"Nice to see you again, Night bird!" Superboy said as he playfully punched Dick's shoulder.

"Nice to see you too, Connor!" Batman's adopted son said with a smile, while rubbing his hitten shoulder.

Then Starfire came.

Dick was still feeling a little awkward around here. Sure, they broke up year and a half ago, but there was still this awkwardness between them.

"Uuuuu, hi..." the young man said a little uncertain. The next thing he knew he was being hugged by the alien princess.

" "Hi" he said!" Starfire whispered happily.

Dick was surprised at first, but eventually hugged Starfire back.

After a few moments the two broke the hug and looked at each other " You could have called!" Starfire said with a smile "It's a mess here!"

"Hey, it's always a mess here!" Dick responded, also with a smile. He then noticed that Beast boy was looking at the ground.

"Hey, Gar," the old boy said, while approaching the younger boy "it's nice to-"

"Oh, I am sure it's nice!" Gar interrupted him with anger in his voice " I am sure it's nice seeing the team you abandoned!"

"Gar, I-" Dick trying to explain himself, but was once again interrupted.

"DON'T CALL ME "GAR"!" the green boy was now shouting "YOU LOST THAT RIGHT IN THE MOMENT YOU LEFT!"

And with that he ren off, presumably to his room. Dick tried to catch him, but Beast boy was too quick and managed to get into his room and lock the door in time.

"Come on, Garfield," the black haired boy said to the door " don't be like that!"

"Dick," Starfire's gentle voice said as she placed he hand on his shoulder "Maybe it would be for the best if you give him some space for now."

Dick thought for a few seconds and then said "Perhaps you are right..."

"Now come!" Cassie (who had arrived alongside Superboy) said "You must be exhausted from the way. We will prepare one of the rooms for you!"

"Oh that's okey!" Dick said "Tim allowed me to use his room while I am here!"

"Will you stay for long?" Connor asked.

"I am planning on staying at least till Tim returns!"

"Well, the question is settled!" Wonder girl yawned "I don't known about you, but I am hitting the sack! Good night!"

"Yeah, me too!" Superboy said "We will catch up tomorrow, Dick! Good night everyone!"

"Night!" Nightwing and Starfire responded.

The two then made their way to Red Robin's room. Dick left his sack on the ground at sitted on the end of the bed. Starfire set down next to him.

"I knew Gar was upset that I left," the young man said to his companion "but I didn't expect him to be THAT mad!"

"It was hard for him." Starfire responded "He was looking up to you. You were his hero."

"I wasn't mucho of a hero on our last mission together."

"Dick, we talked about this: You didn't know it was a trap, no one saw it coming!"

"You did, but I was to confident to listen! That's why I choose you to replace me."

Starfire was silent for a few minutes then spoke "I made mistakes as well. I am not perfect, Dick, and nor are you, but that's fine."

Dick didn't say anything.

" You just need some rest." Starfire said "I am sure you will be better the next morning. We will talk then!"

"Yeah, probably." Dick said silently "Good night, Star."

Starfire smiled and walked to the door " Night, Dick!"

After she was gone the young man took off his shirt and pants, leaving him only with his tank top and boxers. He covered himself with the blanket and quickly fell asleep, unsure if he is going to be better at the morning.

(A few hours later...)

Dick woke up by the sound of someone banging on his door

"Dick, get up!" the voice of Superboy said on the other side of the door "Someone broke into Jump city's S.T.A.R lab!"

Dick immediately got up and together with Connor made his way to the living room were the rest of the titans had already arrived.

"It's still unclear who is behind the break-in, but I guess we will find out when we arrive!" Starfire was explaining the situation to Beast boy and Wonder girl when she noticed the two boys "Dick, dress up! I will explain on the way!"

"Roger!" Dick responded and ren back to his room. In a few minutes he was in his Nightwing costume and was back in the living room.

"All right, everyone is here!" Starfire said with a stoic voice "Okey, Teen titans, let's go!"

(Soon in front of S.T.A.R LAB)

After a short flight (Nightwing was carried by Superboy) the Titans arrived in front of S.T.A.R lab. The police was already there.

"Commissioner, what's the situation?" Starfire asked a middle-aged blond shaved man with brown trench coat.

"We are not entirely sure yet," the Commissioner answered "Though the guard said that he had seen six people on the cameras, which means-"

"H.I.V.E five!" all Titans said with mutual hatred in the voice.

"These guys should really change their name, now that they're six!" Beast boy said jokingly.

"At least there is nobody in the building." the Commissioner said.

"Good, it will be just the eleven of us!" Wonder girl said while she cracked her knuckles.

"Where are they now?" Nightwing asked while looking at the building.

"Sadly we don't know." the authority figure responded "The cameras shutted down shortly after they entered."

"We will find them!" Starfire said and waved at her team "Come on!"

The Teen titans started walking towards the building.

"Also, can you try to minimize the damage?" the Commissioner asked, though knowing the answer.

"We will try," Nightwing said "but I doubt H.I.V.E will..."

Starfire looked up at the lab and ordered "Superboy, Wonder girl and Beast boy- fly to the top floor and start searching from there. Nightwing and I will start from the bottom. We should meet at the middle. If you find something-call!"

"Understood!" the other members of the team said in unison.

Beast boy turned into a bird and followed Superboy and Warner girl to the top of the building, while Starfire and Nightwing made their way through the front gates.

The two heroes were going true the corridors and rooms in silence, not wanting to give away their position to the intruders. The first floor was silent and dark. After a quick check it was clear that there was nobody there.

Nightwing and Starfire used the stairs to go to the second floor. It was empty too. The third one was not though.

From the stairs the heroes could hear two voices. One male and one-female. The voices sounded like... bickering?

Nightwing and Starfire were walking as quietly as possible (well, Starfire was floating), getting closer to the voices until they were coming from around the corner of the hallway. Now they could hear what the voices were saying.

"Do you even know where are we going?" the female voice said in an irritated ton.

"Of fucking course I don't!" the male voice answered with the same irritated ton "I have never been here before!"

These voices... the two heroes know the people they belong to...

"It can't be..." both whispered in the same time.

Just then two figures came from around the corner, one walking and one- floating. The walking one was apparently a man whose face was completely covered by what looked like a red motorcycle helmet with two pail eyes. He wore brown jacket and underneath- armor with red bat sibol on it. He held two guns in his hands, ready to shoot.

The floating figure was one of a young woman. She had long black hair that was going almost down to he heels. She had pail-orange skin and dark-purple eyes. She wore black top, skirt and boots. The rest of her body (besides the head and the wrists) was covered by iron rings.

"Then why are we wondering around liiii..." the girl then noticed the two heroes.

"What, did you finally run out of insulllllll..." the man then noticed them too.

Nightwing and Starfire's faces went from surprise to anger in seconds. Starfire's eyes even started glowing in green.

The man's expression could not be seen, but the girl had a smirk on on he face.

"Jason!" Nightwing hissed through gathered teeth.

"Dick!" "Jason" also hissed through gathered teeth.

"Blackfire!" Starfire growled.

"What's up, sis?" "Blackfire" asked smugly.

Those were indeed Red hood ( A.K.A Jason Todd), Batman's second Robin and an anti-hero now, and Blackfire, Starfire's nefarious sister. And when you have those four together things were about to get...interesting (and destructive)!
