AN: Hello everyone,
Hope you all are having an amazing New Year so far. Just to let you all know that I finally finished watching season two of The Mandalorian and my god was it amazing. The action was awesome, the music memorable and the ending was out of this world! Jon Faveau and Dave Filoni should be the ones in charge of Star Wars as a whole instead of Kathleen Kennedy who gave us the worst trilogy ever that killed many fans' love for the franchise.
it was only through Star Wars Clone Wars and The Mandalorian that brought them back and I can't wait for the new Star Wars shows that are coming out like Bad Batch, the Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi, Ahsoka, and so many others.
But for now, let us be patient. Enjoy the chapter!

STAR WARS: RWBY CHRONICLES
CHAPTER IV: Learning Experience
Escape from Zygerria!
After having met with the Sangria the Hutt's trader, Fero D'Nar, Jaune made a shocking discovery. Within a black crate were a group of children all taken from their homeworld by the Zygerrian and his men.
Devising a clever plan, Jaune was able to steal the slave ship's flight records as well as free the children he had imprisoned for Sangria. When a struggle broke out between the two, a third party became involved: The Imperial Stormtroopers.
After making a difficult decision to reveal his Force abilities or risk the children getting captured, Jaune and his crew made a daring escape from the slave planet and now head to Florrum to rest and discover where the children come from…
The children still seemed uneasy about whether or not Jaune should be trusted, but he didn't blame them since he had gone through the same thing when he was a kid slave freed by the Jedi.
"Starting to see a trend here." Jaune mused to himself as he recalled how his master was saved from slavery by Master Vos when he was a padawan and eventually took her on as an apprentice and how she did the same for him when he was young.
The only thing stopping this pattern from continuing was the children he freed not being Force as he was. Although he may be wrong about that.
Now that the threat of being captured and tortured by the Empire had passed and the children were currently being healed by Sila with bacta patches covering their wounds, Jaune felt some sort of strange aura surrounding the children. As if they had the potential to use the Force like he could, but were incapable of doing so for some reason. Yet he felt there was more to it than that.
Perhaps that was the reason behind their abduction.
If only he had the right medical equipment, then he could get an estimate of their midi-chlorian count then he would try to figure out why they were taken.
To make slaves out of a people that had a unique connection to the Force perhaps to spite their Jedi adversaries for the destruction of their slave empire.
That or the Zygerrians stumbled upon the people on accident and wanted to capitalize on their abilities by kidnapping some to make as labor workers and no idea that they were connected to the cosmic phenomenon that was the Force.
Jaune supposed he would ask about that later when the children were ready to open up more and healed from their injuries.
Right now Jaune was in the galley cooking up some roasted porg he had in the freezer for dinner for both him and his new passengers to enjoy.
As the bird finished cooking in the stove, Jaune, who now wore cooking gloves, removed the roasted avian from the stove and placed it on top of the oven as he used a pair of large utensils to carefully lift the porg out and onto a large serving plate he had set out.
After using a knife to cut into the cooked puffin's breast with steam coming out as he sliced into the cooked flesh and cut out six pieces of white meat onto the dishes he had set out.
Coupled with some cooked vegetables and delicious brown gravy on the top of it. The dish seemed absolutely exquisite as Jaune sampled some of his porg and smiled at the taste.
He carefully set out the plates across the dinner table, hoping that by giving them a delicious meal it would further solidify in their minds that he was a good man who truly wanted to help them. This in turn would let Jaune ask questions about them to get a better idea of where they came from. From what their planet was like, how it functioned, how many moons they had, where did they live. The last one would be the most difficult to answer given the fact they went through a traumatic experience and were still just kids and probably didn't know where they lived.
He had already started to gain the trust from the blonde girl named Iris, so this shouldn't be as difficult. Right?
Meanwhile, since Arf and Oum didn't eat they remained in the cockpit shifting through the stolen navigation records hoping to find at least a clue on where the Zygerrians had taken them. So far things seemed to be alright.
With the table set out, Jaune went to the refrigerator to retrieve a gallon of water and soda, placing them around the table so each child could get what they wanted to drink.
With the dinner preparations finished he made his way back to the medbay as the door opened.
Upon entering the room, he saw the children sitting close to each other on the medical table with bacta patches covering up every inch of their wounded skin.
The children turned to face him with curious expressions as he walked toward them.
"Hey guys I have some dinner ready if you're ready to get something to eat." he said in a friendly tone as the kids looked at each other unsure of what to say until the girl Iris spoke up.
"W-What did you make?"
"Roasted porg with vegetables, and gravy. It's delicious trust me." Jaune said as the kids had confused looks on their faces.
"What's a porg?" Asked a boy with wolf ears and black hair.
"It's like a little bird creature. They taste really good." Jaune answered.
The children still seemed unsure about whether or not they should get up and eat. That is until the sound of hungry stomachs rumbled from them as they smelled the dinner that awaited.
Jaune gave out a light chuckle at the comedic timing as the kids slowly got off the bed one by one and followed him in a single file line toward the galley.
"Alright take your seats I have water and soda set to drink." He said as the children each took a spot and slowly grabbed the utensils, he set out for them.
However, they didn't eat yet. Instead, they eyed the meat and vegetables with caution and disgust. Perhaps due to how young children have some sort of personal vendetta against vegetables.
"What are these?" the girl with a white cat tail asked as she poked around the meat and vegetables with a disgusted look on her face.
"Those are Nabooian potato balls. They taste really good." Jaune assured as the girl just eyed him carefully.
So far it looked like no one was willing to try until the girl Iris was brave enough to cut into her piece of porg and slowly brought it to her mouth, taking a small bite.
Her look of cautious disgust morphed into enjoyment as she took another bite of the roasted bird.
"It tastes like chicken." She commented as the others watched her. She then used her fork to cut the potato balls and brought a small piece to her mouth and began to eat it.
She let out a small hum of enjoyment.
"The potato ball things taste good too." she told the others as they also began to cut into their meal.
Jaune smiled as he saw the kids begin to eat his cooking, making sure to savor every bite they got. He had a feeling they were starved when they were in Fero's hands who he doubted kept them well-fed, but now they were enjoying a delicious meal.
The kids seemed to be happier now that they finally weren't being threatened by electro whips and shock collars.
That is until a boy with green hair knocked over his glass of water and froze as he saw the liquid spill over the table and the cup rolled off the table and shattered when it hit the metal ground.
Jaune noticed what happened as the child began to look on the verge of tears and began to shiver.
He slowly got up and approached the child who looked horrified.
Jaune placed a hand on the kid's shoulder who flinched in response.
"It's okay buddy it was just an accident. There's no need to be upset" Jaune soothed as he held the boy close.
Most likely the child had a panic attack of some sort from the torture the Zygerrians inflicted on both him and his fellow freed slaves.
"I'm not mad at you and I promised not to hurt you all." Jaune reaffirmed as the child's whines petered out and his breathing began to steady.
With the kid now calmed down Jaune went to the counter and ripped a piece of paper and began to clean the mess up with the clear liquid getting automatically absorbed by the paper cloth leaving the surface dry.
Jaune then retrieved a small broom and dustpan from a nearby storage closet and began sweeping up the shattered remains of the glass cup and dumped them in the garbage disposal.
With clean up done, Jaune retrieved a second cup from his cabinet and headed toward the refrigerator and took out a jug of reddish-purple liquid and began to pour it into the glass.
With the glass filled with the substance, he made his way back toward the child with a small smile on his face and offered the drink to him.
The boy just eyed it suspiciously, cautious of any sort of trick.
"It's meiloorun juice. Nothing bad about it, kid. It's delicious." Jaune said as the child decided to do so, bringing the glass of juice to his mouth and tipping the contents to his lips.
The boy's eyes widened in delight as he drank the liquid with vigor before setting it back on the table and wiping the remnants that were on his upper lip with a napkin.
"I-It tastes good." the boy thanked as he set his glass down. Jaune then set the large jug on the table as the other children also began pouring the fruity drink into their cups as they continued to eat their dinner.
A small chorus of satisfied hums was heard as the kids drank the juice with vigor with smiles forming on their faces as they finished it, letting out small burps as they did.
"Guess you guys liked it huh." Jaune laughed slightly as they mumbled their thanks to him as they continued back to eating their meal.
Upon finishing, Jaune collected the dishes, cups, and utensils and set them all in the sink to wash later as he heard the intercom of the ship suddenly turn on.
"Uh, sir can you come to the cockpit. We found something you should see." Oum's voice rang out through the ship before ending.
Jaune looked back at the kids.
"I'll be right back guys. Just stay here in the lounge." Jaune said, pointing to a large circular couch with a dejarik board table in front of it.
As he left Jaune made his way back toward the cockpit of the ship where both Arf and Oum waited for him.
"Alright guys, what did you find?"
"After examining the navigation records Arf stole from the Zygerrians, we discovered that they've been using a route that cuts through Wild Space and into the Unknown Regions." The droid explained pointing at a hyperspace route that connected from the slave planet to another planet in the Corporate Sector and then from there it went off into Wild Space and into the Unknown Regions.
"This short route here." Oum said gesturing to the route between Zygerria and the Corporate Sector, "is connected to a desert planet called Cantonica where they refueled. And then from there, it heads off into the Unknown Regions until it reaches here." Oum finished as the route from Cantonica connected to a planet far into the depths of unexplored space.
"That has to be it." Jaune exclaimed pointing to the planet far from known space, "How the hell did the Zygerrians even find it?"
"Unknown sir. By the looks of it the route was a large secret trading route the D'Nar family discovered decades ago, maybe longer. They could have been using this route to funnel slaves from the planet to their buyers to profit off them. Arf informed me we are the only ones with access to the planet's whereabouts due to Arf taking precautions by wiping their records on the navicomputer and the data drive they had used to store the data." Oum stated as Jaune smirked in satisfaction knowing that the sleemo no longer has access to the planet.
"Does Cantonica have any Imps?" asked Jaune as he stared at the planet the Zygerrians traded with.
"Not that I'm aware of sir. It appears that there isn't any sort of presence on Cantonica like how there was over Zygerria. Though I still advise caution if we heard there. The planet is a hotspot for political and corporate business so there may be some Imperial officers or sympathizers on the planet." Oum warned as Jaune nodded in understanding.
He was already neck-deep in trouble with the Empire with his hidden abilities being used to protect him and Iris and soon Sangria would be after him as well for ruining the shipment and hurting an ally of hers.
Before anything else could be said the ship's, communication transceiver began to blink and beep. As Arf went to see who was contacting them he too began to let out a series of warning trills which Jaune understood.
Someone was calling him from Nar Shaddaa
"Speak of the devil and they shall appear." Jaune thought to himself as he knew who was calling him.
"Put it through." Jaune sighed as he crossed his arms and watched as a hologram of an angry looking Sangria the Hutt glared at him from across the galaxy.
"Sangria, you look upset."
"(Jaune…)" The Hutt boomed in Huttese, "(What is the meaning of this treachery?!)"
Jaune glared at the slug being with anger-filled eyes.
"You know damn well why it happened. We had a deal. I'd smuggle Spice, weapons, machinery, and animals, but never slaves. That was the deal we both agreed on and you broke it by trying to pull the wool over my eyes." Jaune snapped at the Hutt.
"(They are my property that Fero had been kind enough to share with me, and now you may have ruined my partnership with him! You have ruined most of the Spice shipment, freed the slaves, and have my weapons!)" Sangria thundered.
"(You will either bring them to me this instant or you will pay dearly!)" she screeched as she pounded her flabby arm into her desk.
"It's not happening. I keep my promises and you broke yours by trying to have me smuggle kids for you." Jaune responded.
Sangria just eyed him before letting out a deep angry sigh.
"(You disappoint me Jaune. I would have hoped you would be smart enough to realize that having a heart is not good for business and now you will pay dearly for it. A shame.)"
"Yeah, shame on you for trying to have me break my word you overgrown slimy trash bag!" Jaune shouted at the Hutt, who looked taken aback by the insult for a few moments before scowling at him.
"(So be it Jaune. You just guaranteed yourself a painful death.)" the Hutt snarled before the connection was terminated.
Jaune let out a sigh. He knew this was gonna end with a large bounty on his head, but still, he felt relieved he no longer worked for the self-indulgent slug. Though that was soon replaced with worry as he realized that bounty hunters will start to chase him.
Despite this turn of foreseen events, Jaune didn't regret the decision he made and knew his fallen master would be proud of him for sticking to his morals rather than throwing them to the wind for money.
After a brief pause of silence, Jaune turned to face Oum.
"You think we can adjust our coordinates and plot a course to Cantonica?"
The droid nodded.
"Yes sir, but we'll have to drop out of hyperspace to do so." he pointed out.
"Alright, while you get us ready I'll ask the kids some questions about their planet."
"Are you sure that's wise?" Oum asked.
"I've built up enough trust with them to begin asking questions about where they come from. Though I'll need to be careful since it'll bring up some...unwanted memories they recently obtained." Jaune said as the droid nodded in understanding.
"First, we get to Cantonica, refuel and restock, then we go to the planet the kids come from and bring them to their homes. Any questions?" asked Jaune as he looked at both his droids who both shook their heads no.
"Great now let's get going before Sangria or the Empire catch up with us." Jaune finished as both Oum and Arf began working on exiting hyperspace and plotting a safe course to Cantonica, while Jaune exited the cockpit and made his way back to the lounge to talk with the kids. Hopefully they would be able to remember something useful for him to make his mission easier.
Upon returning to the lounge, he heard the sounds of light growling as he saw the dejarik table turned on with holographic creatures of various shapes and sizes and the circular checkered table snarling at the enemy pieces.
The children seemed to have accidentally turned it on and were frantically fiddling with the buttons in an attempt to shut it off before he got there before they got in trouble.
Their expressions turned to shock as Jaune approached them with a smirk as they sat down shaking a bit.
"M-Mister, we didn't mean to t-turn it on." the girl with the white cat tail stammered out.
"It's alright guys really it is." Jaune assured as he pressed a button and the holographic pieces dissipated.
The children had looks of awe in their eyes as they saw the pieces vanish, though their faces still held looks of anxiety.
"Alright, guys I need to ask you some questions about where you guys come from okay. This is so I can get a better understanding of where you live when I bring you back to your home planet." Jaune explained and saw the nervous looks they shared with each other.
"Let's start off with names." Jaune suggested as the kids again looked uncertain about revealing anything about themselves.
"I know that her name is Iris." Jaune pointed to the blonde-haired blue-eyed girl wearing his coat, "But I don't know everyone else's names."
After a brief moment of silence, the boy with green hair who dropped his cup earlier stood up.
"M-My name is Oliver Green." he said with a slight tremble.
After him, the girl with the white cat tail spoke next.
"I-I'm Selena Pearl." she said in a shaky voice as well as the boy with black wolf ears spoke next.
"Ebon Lupus." he whispered. Jaune then turned his attention to the last child who was a boy with earth brown hair.
"M-My names Jeremiah Oak." he said as he fidgeted in his seat.
Jaune nodded while maintaining his smile.
"It's nice to meet you all. My name is Jaune. I'm the captain of this awesome ship." Jaune replied seeing a faint smile appear on Iris's face before it disappeared.
"Now with introductions out of the way can you guys tell me what your planet was called and what it's like?"
"Planet?" Selena asked, uncertain if she heard him right.
"Yeah, the name of the world you come from. Like my homeworld is called Coruscant." he explained. While he knew he wasn't born on the planet he considered it his home due to being raised there. A home that he can't return to thanks to the Empire and death of the Order.
"I-It's called R-Remnant." Selena whispered, causing Jaune to raise his eyebrow.
"Remnant? That's a strange name for a planet." he commented before deciding to continue with his questions.
"What's the planet like?"
"What do you mean?" asked Ebon with a confused look.
"I mean what's the climate. Is it a desert planet, ice planet, a forest planet, water planet?" Jaune explained.
The children still had puzzled looks on their faces until Jaune began again.
"Does the planet you live in have forests?" he asked, opting to go the long way of asking what their planet is like as the children nodded in unison.
"Is there a large ocean?"
Another wave of nods.
"Alright now we're getting somewhere. Are there any deserts?"
Again, more nods.
"Any cold areas?" he continued, as the children, all shook their heads yes.
"Are there any large cities that are advanced?" he asked.
"T-There's Atlas." Oliver said and drawing Jaune's attention to him.
"What's it like?"
"I-It's a city that floats in the air." he said nervously, "I-It's also the name of one of the four kingdoms and it's above Mantle, where I c-come from." he said as he began to tremble with tears threatening to leak from his eyes the others not that far behind as they began thinking about their families.
Jaune immediately moved to comfort him wrapping his arm around the boy as he began to weep
"I-I m-miss my m-mom and da-ad!" he cried as he held onto Jaune for warmth.
"Don't worry buddy you're a strong boy right now okay, you all are strong boys and girls. I'll get you home to your parents soon alright. But I still need a bit more help before I could do that and when you get back you all will be happy." Jaune soothed to the crying children as they wept and whimpered over having been taken far from their loved ones.
Seeing them wipe their eyes and noses on their sleeves Jaune used the Force to slowly levitate a box of tissues to them and offered it to them which they accepted using them to wipe away the tears and mucus.
As their tears began to dry and their whimpers died down, Jaune had an idea on how to cheer them up and raise their spirits.
"Hey, guys have you ever been to space before?"
All the children did was shake their heads no at the question.
"Do you guys want to see what it looks like?"
That seemed to have gotten their attention as they looked at him with curious expressions.
"Anyone who wants to see what space and hyperspace look like, follow me." he said as he gestured for them to follow.
"Alright guys the cockpit is small so it'll be a tight fit but I think we'd be able to fit in." Jaune said as the door opened startling both Oum and Arf.
"Uh sir what are you doing?" Oum asked while Arf let out a low friendly tone as the children looked at them with curiosity.
"Just showing the kids what space looks like Oum."
"I see. I was just about to tell you that we're about to drop out of hyperspace so we can make way to Cantonica." informed the pilot droid.
"Great. Then they could see what it looks like when we jump to hyperspace." he smiled as Oum pulled the lever bringing the ship into real space.
A small chorus of "oohs" and "aahs" came from the children as they saw the countless sparkling stars surrounding them in the inky black void.
"They look so pretty." Iris whispered as they continued to gaze at the cosmic lights dotting the horizon.
The stars slowly started to move to the side as Oum maneuvered the ship around until they were in the right position to head toward their next destination: Cantonica.
"Alright, all systems are green. We are ready to go into hyperspace. We will reach Cantonica in approximately three hours." Oum announced as the children seemed jittery to see what it looked like.
The pitch-black turned to a bright blue as the kids looked on in awe as the stars disappeared and in their place was a blue cyclone of light.
"Wow"
"I can't believe it."
"Does this mean we're going fast?" Iris asked looking at Jaune who chuckled a bit.
"Yeah, it does. If we tried going from world to world in regular space it would take way too long. Hyperspace makes us get there a lot faster." he explained as Iris turned her attention back to the window.
For some reason or another, he felt some sort of connection to the girl. Maybe because she reminded him of himself when he was younger. Not to mention the fact that the Force flowed around her differently than it usually did with other Force-sensitives.
"If these kids were born during the Republic they would've been taken to the temple when they were babies." Jaune thought as he watched through starstruck faces admire the blue tunnel of light. Despite being grateful for the Jedi for saving him from slavery and taking him in there were certain parts of the Order's code he disliked heavily.
One of which was that when Force-sensitive children were discovered they were to be taken to the temple immediately to be raised by the knights and masters and prevent them from forming attachments to their family as well as open their minds to the Force.
From what he could recall the Council originally didn't plan to train him due to the fact that he was too old and had already begun to feel emotions. Most of which would bring him down the path to the Dark Side. Thankfully both Masters Vos and Secura managed to persuade them otherwise and he was taken in to be trained.
He shook his head to try and shake the memories out of his mind as the children still looked out the window.
"So what do you guys think of space?" he asked as he smiled at the five younglings who turned to address him with stars in their eyes.
"The stars looked so pretty." Selena smiled as her cat tail stood up swaying slightly from side to side.
"They looked like little lights." Oliver agreed, smiling.
"It looked so cool." Jeremiah grinned.
"Like we went into a swirling blue tunnel." Ebon added as his wolf ears stood up tall.
"I wish I had a picture of it." Iris groaned, "Then I could show my parents and sisters."
Jaune thought for a second as an idea popped into his head.
"You know I need to make a small stop to another planet before we head to your world to refuel." he began as the others looked up at him, "I could get some pictures of your planet when we get there so you can show them." he said and smirked as he saw their faces grow excited at the idea.
"Really?!" Iris asked jubilantly as she looked him in the eyes.
"Yeah, I will so you can make your family members jealous." he smirked.
"Oh man Terra won't believe this." Iris cheered, before her face suddenly turned into an inquisitive look, "Wait, how do you even fly? My sister's wife Terra said that Dust loses power when it goes far into the sky."
Now it was Jaune's turn to look confused.
"What's Dust?"
"It's a type of crystal that has power in it." She explained, "It's used everywhere."
"This is the first time I heard of Dust, kid." Jaune replied, "Are there any other fuels your people use to power their technology?"
"I... don't know." she sagged a bit while Jaune Jaune began thinking again.
"This explains why neither of them have heard of other worlds or space travel in general." Jaune thought, "This "Dust" they use loses power when it starts to exit the atmosphere. If this is true, they might not even have any satellites orbiting their planet. Could make for a great hideout since we have the coordinates now."
"What else is your world like?" he asked.
"What do you need to know?"
"Is there one sun or more? And how many moons does it have? Any other races? Things like that"
"Isn't there just one sun?" asked Jerimiah with a puzzled look.
"No, some planets have different suns, and some have more than one. Heck some of them have multiple moons too. Come on I'll show you."
Jaune opened the doors as he led the kids back to the lounge and galley area and crowded around the holotable and began pressing a series of multicolored buttons until a holographic screen popped up from the holoprojector.
The children let out shocked gasps as they saw the hologram start to show a series of different planets, each looking vastly different from the last. Some appeared as a dusty grey color, while others appeared more vibrant and alive such as Naboo and Alderaan.
"Wow."
"Look at that one."
"That one looks like an ocean!"
"Is that one a planet?"
"No it looks like a moon."
"Just how many are there?"
"Let's just say there's a lot of planets and moons with trillions of beings living on them. I've met many different people from different races in my journeys, so there's pretty much nothing I haven't seen yet." Jaune stated.
"So you've met Faunus?" questioned Ebon as a bewildered look dawned on Jaune's face.
"I don't think I've met a race of people called Faunus. Is that what you and Selena are? He inquired as the boy nodded his head.
"Yeah. I'm a wolf Faunus." he said pointing to his ears.
"And I'm a cat Faunus." Selena responded, as she flicked her white tail.
"That's nice. You have traits from different animals." He observed looking at the two.
"Do you hate us for it?" Ebon asked anxiously.
Jaune shook his head.
"No. I'm not like that. Is it common where you're from?"
"My mom told me that humans hate Faunus that they tried to keep on one continent." Ebon disclosed.
"And I've met humans who told me that my tail is ugly." Selena revealed as she held her tail in her arms.
Jaune understood what they meant. Racism and prejudice was widespread throughout the galaxy and didn't seem to end. No wonder they were worried about if he hated them for it. They had experienced it already.
"Let me tell you something. I've met various races throughout the galaxy from Twi'leks, Kiffar, Togruta, Rodians, Ithorians, Mirialans, and so many more. I've learned not to judge people based on their appearances alone but by their personality and actions. That's what separates those who are compassionate and understand from the ignorant and hate-filled." Jaune lectured as both Faunus children stared at him with wide eyes and nodded.
"Now then let's get back to the topic at hand. I need you guys to tell me what is around your planet. Is there one sun and moon or more?
"There's one sun and moon, but the moon looks broken." Iris answered.
This got Jaune's attention.
"What do you mean by that?" he inquired as he quirked an eyebrow up.
"The moon has a part if it that's broken into pieces." she clarified.
Jaune hummed as he recalled the visions he had been having of a planet with a broken moon with a strange feeling bubbling inside him.
Was he feeling...anxious? And if so why was he feeling this way? Is it because the planet the children come from was the one from his visions? If this is true then who's to say the other parts of his vision won't
"Are you okay?"
He pushed the nerve-wracking thoughts aside as he turned to address Iris who had a concerned look on her face as she looked at him.
"Sorry, I was thinking about something important." he apologized.
"What were you thinking about?" she asked curiously as he thought about what to say so she didn't worry.
"What could have happened to the moon to cause it to break." he lied which seemed to buy into.
"My big sister Saphron said the moon is broken because a large meteor hit it." A curious expression dawned on her face, "Can the moon break from a meteor?"
Jaune thought for a moment before responding.
"If the meteor was big enough, it could be enough to partially break it." he suggested, "But I don't know for sure. Maybe when we get there I'll try and figure out what happened and tell you."
Iris seemed happy with that as she and the others turned back to the hologram of the planets appearing on the massive list.
"Does anyone else have any questions they want to ask me? From the planets, moons, the different races, ships, space I'll tell you everything I can about the galaxy." Jaune offered to the children who again had their eyes light up in excitement.
And so they began asking all sorts of questions from how did the ship fly, why did these people have head tails, the history of the galaxy, where he's been. Their curiosity knew no bounds, but since they came from a backwater planet that didn't have space travel invented yet, he didn't mind telling them about the galaxy and watching as they had awestruck faces brighten with every revelation as they continued to ask as the time went by.
Until Iris asked a question that confused him.
"Are you a Huntsman?"
Jaune gave her a perplexed look as he thought about how to respond to the strange question.
"No, I'm not a Huntsman. What made you think I'm a hunter?"
"Because you sent those bad guys away when you stretched out your arm." she responded.
"And my power made you think I was one of these hunters?" Iris nodded.
"I don't use my powers to hunt animals. I use them to protect myself and others in need."
"Huntsmen don't hunt animals, they protect people from bad guys and monsters. My dad was one before he retired."
"Really now? What are these people like?" he asked, wondering about how she thought he was one of these people.
"They could do cool things like what you did." she responded, "My dad could make himself strong and fast."
"My mom's a Huntress." Oliver added, "She could go through walls and stuff."
Jaune was stunned. He never once heard of people capable of using these abilities as he grew up nor did he read anything pertaining to the subject in the temple archives, unless they were restricted for some reason. Perhaps the Jedi of old could use these powers through their strong connection to the Force but he wasn't sure. Maybe staying on the planet would help him discover how the people had access to such unique abilities.
"That sounds interesting." he finally said as he started to feel anxious again, "But I'm not a Huntsman."
"Then what are you and how can you send people away by stretching?" Iris asked as he looked at her.
"I'm…" He hesitated unsure of whether or not to tell them of his past and if they even knew what Jedi are and what the Force was.
"I'm a traveler." he managed to say, "And I don't like talking about my powers...can't really find people to trust my secret with."
"How come?" Selena inquired as he flinched a bit at the question.
"I...I don't want to talk about it." He said, wanting to drop the subject as soon as possible, "The last time people knew of my powers bad things happened and I have no one to trust."
"Maybe you just need to make a friend." Iris suggested, "My mom always said, "Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet."
Jaune froze as he heard the words come out of Iris's mouth recalling the phrase being said in his previous vision by a more mature voice.
"Is my vision coming to life?" he thought frantically as he recalled the series of other voices he heard when he meditated.
Despite being a child, Iris knew he was getting upset. Seeing this she got up from her chair, walked over to Jaune, and wrapped her arms around his body-hugging him.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you sad." she apologized as she hugged him tighter.
Soon he was joined by the others hugging him in an attempt to get rid of the bad feelings they unintentionally brought up.
"Thanks, guys. I'm feeling better now." he smiled gratefully as the kids beamed.
"Your welcome."
"Sir, we're about to reach Cantonica. Would you and the others care to join us?" Oum's voice echoed over the comms again.
The children looked at him with pleading looks, hoping that they could join him in the cockpit again to see the new planet.
"Alright, Oum, we're coming." Jaune replied as the kids cheered and began following him to the cockpit while Jaune's thoughts still lingered on what Iris said.
"Friends I haven't met yet. Hmm...I'll think about it."
AN: Gotta admit this chapter was probably the one I had the most difficulty with in terms of coming up with dialogue. Keep in mind that the kids are around the ages of 8-12, so they knew things like the names of the continents and Kingdoms and that there are humans, Faunus, Huntsmen, and Grimm but small things about them.
I'm also rewriting my Mortal Kombat RWBY: Grimm Threat story as well. There will be some scene changes but it'll mostly stay the same except the events take place earlier on before the Breach so I could establish a better connection between the two groups.
I also am writing a series of Wattpad exclusive stories where RWBY & JNPR encounters a strange object said to be from another world where they have access to Earth's movies, TV shows, videos, and games. This is on Wattpad so my account doesn't get blocked since the copyright restrictions on this site are stricter than on Wattpad. If anyone wants to read it my username is Shadowwolf of phantasms at ShadowEmperor20. It hasn't been released yet so keep that in mind.
And don't forget I have another RWBY crossover story being worked on as well so look forward to that and how it changes the canon of RWBY.
Next chapter Jaune makes his way to Remnant with the kids to bring them home to their families and discover how real his visions are.
see you guys next time and remember the Force will be with you always...
