Round 2

"Okay, now that we're back up to two black and five white cards, we can begin our second round," said Kaiba, looking through his cards. 'Hmm, now what could Yugi be hiding under those facedown cards?' Kaiba looked at one of his cards, Mutually Assured Destruction. 'Hmm, a good kamikaze idea, but I'll hang onto it for later'. He looked at another card, and smiled to himself. 'Oh, this will definitely be hard on him.'

"I played this card: Trench Foot." Kaiba placed it on the table. "But I don't play it against you. Not yet, at least. I activate my trap card: 'In the seventh circle of Hell, sinners must endure _ for all eternity.' So, if any of your cards are judged sinful enough when they die to go to Hell, they end up with Trench Foot, causing you to take damage every turn, despite being dead. I'd like to see you find a counter for that." On Kaiba's side of the field, an image of the devil looking smug appeared. "I end my turn. What have you got for me?"

"As a matter of fact…" said Yugi with a smile. "I have just the counter: Neil Patrick Harris." Yugi placed the card, and an image of a teenage version of the man appeared. "The man played Dr. Doogie Howser in the show of the same name. And, according to the Bible, as a homosexual, he will go to Hell when he dies. Therefore, you can't kill him, or he'll just heal anyone with Trench Foot, and if you kill any of my cards, I'll simply sacrifice him to protect my lifepoints."

Kaiba stared at this move in shock. "Okay…yes, that makes sense. I'll allow it," he said, clearly not happy about it. "Have you got anything else for your turn?"

"Yes, I do," said Yugi. "I have another card to play facedown. And Neil Patrick Harris stays in defence mode for now. Other than that, I end my turn."

"Hmm. Well played, Moto," said Kaiba, smirking as he drew his next card. 'This card…oh, it's the perfect counter for his Neil Patrick Harris. But not yet. I'll let him believe he has a chance…for now.'

Author's note: Okay, I know this is a very short chapter. And I predict most of the early chapters will be fairly short. But I've started coming up with some great combos/counters etc. for later chapters, so hopefully I get to show them off soon. Also, I'm still working out the logistics of this game, so for now keeping chapters short is better to help keep track of everything.
