They do in search of their friends so they can tell them what is going to happen.
Erik and Ondina search everywhere for Zac but are unable to find him so Ondina brings Erik to the Grotto thinking that since the others are there it is safe to do so. When Ondina walks into the Grotto Mimmi notices her, and says.
"Where were you?" Mimmi
"Swimming." Ondina
"Why didn't you wake us?" Mimmi
"I wanted some alone time with Erik." Ondina
Ondina motions Erik to come in, and he does. Mimmi sees him walk in to stand behind Ondina, and says.
"What is he doing here? Why did you bring him here after what happened last time?" Mimmi
"I know it's risky, but I wouldn't bring him here if it wasn't important." Ondina
"What happened, and how can we help you fix it?" Sirena
"There's nothing that needs fixing, but before I explain could somebody please go get Zac he needs to hear this too." Ondina
"He's probably at the café with Evie I'll tell him that we need to meet immediately. Dress shopping can wait." Sirena
Sirena walks out of the Grotto to go find Zac, and then find out what is happening with Ondina and Erik.
Sirena, Zac, and Evie get to the Grotto to find Erik and Ondina sitting on a bench holding hands. They all take their seats, and Mimmi says.
"Everyone is here now please explain what is going on?" Mimmi
"Erik and I where swimming over the reef near Mako when we hear a voice literally coming out of the sea. The voice was so powerful that it could only belong to a god, and that is exactly what was happening. The voice said 'Ondina daughter of the sea and Erik son of the sea my name is Ulmo Vala of the Sea of Arda; Though men call me a god. I have seen how your souls call to one another. Though you are soul-mates you face insurmountable odds. I am here to offer you the chance to come live in my ocean free of the hardships and temptations that would make a relationship impossible.' That is what is going on?" Ondina
"Erik what answer did you give to the god's proposal?" Zac
"I told Ulmo that 'All I care about is Ondina, and so I accept this chance to be with her.' So I will be leaving Earth forever." Erik
"Ondina what was your answer?" Mimmi
"I gave Ulmo this answer 'I love Erik with all my heart. I too accept this chance.' I will be leaving Earth forever as well." Ondina
"What happened next. There has got to be more to the story since you're still here." Evie
"When Ulmo told us that he is going to bring us to his ocean like he did the Sea Children before us I came up with an idea to save Mako, and start off in good standing with our new pod. I made a request to Ulmo that we bring a gift to give to the other Sea Children to thank them for welcoming us into their home." Ondina
"That is very thoughtful, but how does that help us save Mako?" Sirena
"I was thinking that we could bring every speck of moonstone from the merman chamber with us to give to our new pod as our thank you gift." Ondina
Everybody is stunned speechless by this idea, but Zac looks at Erik, and says.
"And You're fine with this idea Erik?" Zac
"I'm leaving anyway, and if it helps the Mako pod feel safe enough to return all the better." Erik
"Alright Erik; I'll see if I can get my hands on some chisels and hammers. Don't worry man we'll help you get ready to leave." Zac
"Thanks Zac." Erik
"No problem. I'm sorry for how tense things have been between us. I wish for us to part as friends." Zac
"Don't worry we're cool." Erik
Zac breathes a sigh of relief, and leaves to get the tools they need to help Erik and Ondina prepare their gift for their new pod.
While Zac is gone getting the supplies Evie thinks of a new problem that needs to be addressed before anything else can be done, and says.
"What are you going to put all of that moonstone in after it's chipped out of the merman chamber?" Evie
"I'm not sure. Anybody got any ideas?" Ondina
"Maybe Rita's got something that we can use." Sirena
"That's a good idea I'll give her a call, and ask her to come to the meeting. We can discuss it then." Evie
Evie calls Rita, and she tells her that she is needed at the ongoing meeting urgently. Rita tells Evie that she will be there as soon as she can.
It takes awhile, but Rita walks into the Grotto to find that everybody except Zac is there. Rita sits down in the only remaining chair, and says.
"What's so urgent, and why isn't Zac here?" Rita
"Zac has gone to get some supplies, but we need your help to help Erik and Ondina get ready to leave." Evie
"Leave? What is going on here?" Rita
"Ondina and Erik are going to be taken to another world by a sea god, and we need to help them prepare a gift for the Sea Children that the sea god has taken from Earth before them." Sirena
"Can you tell me the name of this sea god so I can tell the pod in case this happens again?" Rita
"The sea god's name is Ulmo." Mimmi
"Thank you now how can I help?" Rita
"Ondina and Erik plan to take every speck of moonstone from the merman chamber with them, but we don't have anything to put the moonstone in after it has been chipped out." Evie
"And we were wondering if you had anything that we could use?" Sirena
Rita thinks about this, and remembers that she has four empty treasure chests that together should be able to hold all of that moonstone. Rita stands up, and says.
"Come with me girls I think I have just the thing." Rita
Rita takes the girls to a room that has four chests that once contained treasure that Rita had discreetly sold over the years. Rita looks at the girls, and says.
"Think these will do?" Rita
"They're perfect thank you so much Rita." Sirena
They haul the chests to the underwater entrance, and Rita says.
"Is there anything else that I can do to help with this task?" Rita
"Actually there is." Ondina
"What do you need?" Rita
"When Zac gets back can you use my moon ring to open the passage to the chamber?" Ondina
"Yes I can do that. Now lets get back, and wait for Zac to return from his errand." Rita
Everybody returns to the lounge, and waits for Zac to get there.
A couple of hours later Zac returns with the tools, and says.
"Should we get going to Mako? I don't think we should keep Ulmo waiting to long. I also want to get this done before Cam finds out what we are up to. There is no telling what he'll do when he finds out." Zac
"What did happen between you, and Cam?" Erik
"He betrayed me, and Sirena, Nixie, and Lyla almost died because of it." Zac
"Why would he do that he was your best friend?" Erik
"For a tail." Zac
"No wonder you don't trust the selfish schemer." Erik
"Yeah we should get going though." Zac
When they get to the underwater entrance they see the chests the girls prepared for the moonstone. Zac opens one of the chests, and puts the tools in it to make them easier to carry. Ondina looks at her friends, and says.
"You guys had better carry the chests. Ulmo is watching us, and we wouldn't even make it half way to Mako if Erik and I carried them." Ondina
Sirena nods, and her, Mimmi, Evie, and Zac carry the chests with their powers as everybody gets into the pool to swim to Mako.
When they get to Mako the seven of them walk to the entrance to the merman chamber. When they get there Ondina hands her moon ring Rita so she can open the passage way for them. Erik picks up the chest that Rita put down so she could focus on opening the passage. Once inside the chamber the chests are put down and opened, and everybody grabs some tools before beginning to chip away at the ribs of moonstone. It takes them awhile, but every last piece of moonstone is safely tucked away in one of the chests, and it is time for Erik and Ondina to leave Earth behind forever. They leave the chamber, and once outside Rita gives Ondina back her ring. They begin walking back to the beach preparing to say goodbye to their friend forever. When they get to the beach Rita, Sirena, Mimi, Zac, and Evie are lined up a safe distance from the water with Eric and Ondina standing next to it with the two of them standing between a pair of chests each. Mimmi hugs Ondina, and says.
"Goodbye Ondina. I wish you happiness in your new life." Mimmi
"Goodbye Mimmi. Your my best friend, and I hope that one day I'll get to see you again until then please be happy with our friends." Ondina
"I will." Mimmi
Mimmi walks up to Erik, and says.
"Ondina is an amazing person, and you had better treat her right." Mimmi
"Ondina means everything to me I would never do anything to hurt her intentionally." Erik
"Good." Mimmi
Mimmi walks back to her place next to her brother, and Rita walks up to say her goodbyes to the couple saying.
"You made the right choice. The pod would never have accepted your relationship. You would have faced more hardships than you can possibly imagine. Look out for each other, and learn all you can from the pod living on Arda. Most of all stay safe and happy." Rita
"We will Rita. You don't have to worry about that." Ondina
"I will always do my best to look out for Ondina, and the family that we will start in our new home." Erik
"It's not just your family you will have to look out for, but your pod needs your love and loyalty just as much." Rita
"I'll remember that principal Santos." Erik
"You're no longer my student so call me Rita." Rita
"Thanks for the advise Rita." Erik
"You're welcome Erik." Rita
Rita goes back to stand next to Sirena who then takes her turn saying her goodbyes.
"I know that we were only just starting to get to know each other, but I hope you are happy where you are going. I know the two of you are going to raise adorable little hatch-lings together that will have the love of both of their parents, and that is a gift that I wish more people had the benefit of having." Sirena
Ondina and Erik smile at Sirena, and watch her walk back to her spot in silence. They know that Sirena will start crying if anything is said to her right now. Since Zac already said goodbye Evie walks up to them, and says.
"You giving me a tail was the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I pray to Ulmo that nothing will happen that can take this precious gift from me. I will remember all the adventures we had together when ever I use my powers or go swimming with Zac or the girls. Thank you so much Ondina I'll always be grateful for what you and Mimmi have done for me." Evie
"You're welcome Evie. You can thank me by using your powers for the good of the pod." Ondina
"I will Ondina I promise." Evie
"Good." Ondina
Evie goes back to stand next to her boyfriend, and with all of the goodbyes said the couple walks into the surf with the chests of moonstone in tow.
Ondina and Erik are swimming over the portion of the reef they were swimming over this morning when a bright flash of light surrounds them and their gift, and the next thing they know they are in a completely unfamiliar ocean. They look around, and see a sunken city in the distance. Ondina and Erik look at each other slightly nervous, but they swim toward their future anyway. When they reach the city Ondina and Erik marvel at the awe inspiring beauty of the underwater city. They go in the city to see if they can find some one who lives here, and as they are searching they see a woman whose skin tone is the same as Mimmi's, and Ondina instantly misses her best friend who she wishes was here to share this amazing experience with. The Sea Child looks at them, and says.
Hello. You must be Sea Children that Ulmo brought here for a fresh start. I'm Cleo by the way. - Cleo
Ondina, and yes we are. - Ondina
I'm Erik pleased to meet you. - Erik
Likewise. Why don't I show you around the city, and then you can pick out a house for the two of you to live in. - Cleo
Sounds like a plan lead the way. - Erik
Cleo smiles at them, and swims off in the direction that their tour will begin in.
The tour ends at the lounge hall, and after the three of them have entered in a cloud of steam(Erik and Ondina had to watch Cleo enter the building to know how to get in too) they sit down with everyone eyeing the chests they brought with them. Cleo smiles at them, and says.
"What's in the chests? Sea Children don't usually get to bring anything with them when they come here." Cleo
"They're a gift for you to thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful home." Ondina
"What a kind and thoughtful gesture." Cleo
Cleo smiles, and goes to inspect the chests so she knows what was given to them. Cleo opens the chests in full view of everyone in the room, and gasps when she sees that they are all full of moon crystals. Cleo turns to look at them slightly stern, and says.
"These chests are full of moon crystals where did you get them?" Cleo
"We found a merman chamber on Mako; We got them from there." Erik
Everybody breathes a sigh of relief, and Lewis says.
"I'm sure this gift will be useful for something, and I'll take them to the warehouse near my laboratory. While I'm gone you can get acquainted with everyone." Lewis
Erik and Ondina nod, and watch as Lewis opens the door before exiting, and a tentacle of water reaches out and grabs the now closed chests.
Back on Earth Zac goes to tell David why Erik will not be coming into work anymore. As soon as Zac walks into the café David comes up to him, and says.
"Zac have you seen Erik he didn't show up for his shift, and I was hoping you might know where he is." David
"I'm sorry to be telling you this, but Erik won't be coming in anymore." Zac
"Why not?" David
"He was called out of town on urgent family business, and Sirena is really upset about it." Zac
