fortunate it is for the Dwarves to be friends with a race so close to the Valar. The three Sea Children will stay in the city as his guests until Dain has managed to take their measure. Dain tells their guide to take them to the guest rooms reserved for diplomatic envoys. The Sea Children leave the room with more pleasant looks on their faces after getting over the previous insult.
Erik, Ondina, and Cleo have been making friends in the city of the Dwarves, and after dinner one evening Erik comes up to Dain, and says.
"I need your help with something very personal." Erik
"What seems to be the problem?" Dain
"I want to ask Ondina to marry me, but I have no gift to give her. What should I do about that?" Erik
"You want to marry your lass, but have no token to give her. I could make you something at a discount if that will help you my friend." Dain
"That'll help a lot Thanks Dain." Erik
"Your welcome. Now what would you like to give your lass?" Dain
"I am thinking of giving her a locket like the one Cleo is wearing. Do you think she would like it?" Erik
"I saw the locket in question, and it should make a fine betrothal gift. I'll have to borrow the locket to replicate it; Do you think that Cleo will let me borrow it?" Dain
"Yeah just tell her the plan, and you should have no problem borrowing the locket." Erik
"Good, and I'll even throw in a pair of gold rings for the wedding free of charge." Dain
Erik nods with gratitude written plain on his face, and leaves the room while Dain goes to find Cleo.
When Dain has finished the locket, and been paid Erik plans when he is going to propose to Ondina. When they get to the dinning hall Erik leads Ondina to their seats, takes the jewellers box from his pocket, gets down on one knee, and says.
"Ondina you are the most important person in my life. Will you marry me?" Erik
"Yes Erik I will marry you." Ondina
Erik and Ondina take their seats after Erik puts the locket on Ondina, and every one begins congratulating them on their engagement. The plan is for the Sea Children to spend the rest of the year in the Iron Hills before going home. The rest of the year passes, and the Sea Children say goodbye to their friends before returning to Númenor.
Evie is swimming toward Mako to help confront the dragon, and as she is swimming Evie hears a voice coming out of the sea say.
Evie daughter of the sea I am taking you to live in my ocean for your own good.
Since I apparently have no choice in the matter; Could you tell Zac why I am gone?
I will tell your loved one what has happened.

There is a flash of light, and Evie finds herself swimming in an unfamiliar ocean. After a fair sized swim Evie sees a sunken city in the distance, and power swims toward it. When she gets there Evie swims into the city to see if anyone lives there, and the first person she sees is Ondina surrounded by a large group of hatch-lings. Evie swims up to the group, and when they notice her Ondina looks at her with a shocked but happy look on her face. Ondina swims up to her, and says.
Evie I am so glad you are here. I missed you so much. - Ondina
I missed you too Ondina, but where are we? - Evie
We are in the city of Númenor on the world of Arda. - Ondina
So I have left Earth forever haven't I? - Evie
Yes you have. Why don't I show you around your new home? - Ondina
I'd like that. - Evie
Ondina nods to Evie, turns to her class, and says.
Since I have to show the newcomer around the city class in dismissed early today. - Ondina

The children smile, and swim off with their friends to find something fun to do.
Back on Earth Zac has finished fighting the dragon, and is swimming back to the Grotto when he hears a voice coming out of the sea say.
Zac son of the sea my name is Ulmo I have come to tell you that I have taken Evie daughter of the sea to live in my ocean to protect her from the wrath of the dragon.
You took my girlfriend from the face of the Earth to protect her from something she wasn't even meant to fight?
Meant to or not Evie daughter of the sea would have faced the dragon in combat, and the dragon would have burned away every connection that she has with the sea forever. I could not allow that to happen to a daughter of the sea.
If you care so much why didn't you stop the dragon from wiping out an entire pod of Sea Children?
The tragedy you speak of happened before I turned my gaze to Earths oceans.
Zac thinks over everything that has been said, and responds saying.
You did nothing because you didn't know what was happening, but Ulmo I have a question.
Ask Zac son of the sea.
Do you think that you could restore what the dragon has destroyed?
Perhaps; If any of the Sea Children that have been burned by the dragon still live I might be able to heal them.

With that Ulmo's presence disappears from Earths oceans, and Zac goes to tell the others what has happened to Evie.
Back on Arda Ondina is showing Evie around the market district when Evie sees a clothing store, and says.
Ondina can we go in that shop please? - Evie
Sure, but the service is a little slow since Emma learned Elvish medicine, and opened her clinic. - Ondina
I don't care. I need a little retail therapy after the day I've had. - Evie
Ondina smiles at Evie, and enters the store making sure to show Evie exactly how she did it. When they get in the store Cleo looks up from the counter, and says.
"Welcome to Crystal Stitch clothing store. How may I help you?"Cleo
"I would just like to look around to relieve some stress if you don't mind?" Evie
"Go ahead, and if you see anything you like feel free to tell me so you can try it on." Cleo
"Thanks uh..." Evie
"My names Cleo pleased to meet you." Cleo
"Evie nice to meet you too. So I'll just have a look around then."Evie
Cleo smiles, and Evie goes to look around the shop.
Back on Earth Mimmi meets Zac at the Grotto, and can instantly tell that something is bothering him so she determines to ask him about it when they get to the lounge. Mimmi and Zac get to the lounge room to find Rita and Weilan sitting on benches waiting for them. As soon as they are sitting comfortably Mimmi looks at Zac, and says.
"Zac what happened, and how can we fix it?" Mimmi
"This isn't really something that can be fixed Mimmi." Zac
"Ok then what happened?" Mimmi
"Evie was taken by Ulmo." Zac
Mimmi gasps, covers her mouth with her hands, and starts to cry. Weilan notices this, and says.
"Mimmi what's wrong?" Weilan
"Another one of my friends is gone forever; That's what's wrong." Mimmi
Zac hugs Mimmi to comfort her while she is sobbing, and Rita says.
"Weilan Mimmi's best friend since she was a hatch-ling was given the opportunity to go to Arda so she could be with the Merman she loves away from the hatred and prejudice the pod has for mermen." Rita
"So Mimmi's friend was given a choice, but what's different about what happened to Evie." Weilan
"I don't think Ulmo gave Evie a choice in the matter." Zac
"What? Why would he do such a thing?" Rita
"Ulmo told me that he did it to protect Evie from the wrath of the dragon." Zac
"How is that possible? The plan was for Evie to stay on land with the pod being out of harms way while you fought the dragon." Weilan
"Well your plan didn't work. The dragon is still out there, and now Evie has been taken to another world never to return." Mimmi
"I'm so sorry that all of this happened. I never wanted anyone to get hurt or go missing." Weilan
"If you had just talked to us about your plan we may have been able to find a way to keep Evie on land that way Ulmo would never have had to intervene to protect Evie from the dragon that likely followed you here." Mimmi
"I'm so sorry Mimmi I was only trying to help. I never meant for things to go so wrong; Please you have to believe me." Weilan
"We do Weilan Mimmi's just in a lot of pain right now. I thinks it's best if you give her a little space and time to cool off." Zac
Weilan nods, and leaves the Grotto to think about what went wrong with her friend.
Back on Arda Evie is looking at the clothes in Cleo's shop, and giving helpful design critiques whenever she sees something that would make the clothes look even better than they already do. Cleo thinks about all of Evie's very useful advice, and decides that Evie would be the perfect person to help out in the shop. Cleo motions Evie to come over, and when Evie gets there Cleo says.
"Evie how would you like to help out here in the shop?" Cleo
"You want me to work here in your shop. I would love that thank you so much Cleo." Evie
Cleo goes behind the counter, grabs a bag hands it to Evie, and says.
"Great here is your hiring bonus. Now go try on one of those shirts, and then we can get to work." Cleo
Evie smiles brightly, and goes into the change room. After picking out an outfit Evie comes out of the change room, and starts helping Cleo with anything she needs her help with.
Back on Earth Weilan is sitting on a bench thinking about how badly she has messed things up for her friends. She has a very helpful conversation with Uncle Shen, and decides that while she would like to stay here it would be better to leave, and Weilan goes to pack her things. When Weilan gets to the Grotto her and Mimmi have a very emotional conversation which results in Weilan changing her mind, and deciding to stay after all. With their friendship saved Mimmi and Weilan go back to figuring out how to stop the water dragon, and save the pod before anymore of them are taken, or any of them lose their tails to the beast.
Rikki is floating in the moonpool when Weilan swims into the pool, and Rikki tries to leave when Weilan asks her about her story. Weilan is talking with Rikki when she realizes how much Rikki misses her friends, and says.
"I can think of another Mako mermaid that is feeling exactly how you are right now." Weilan
"Really who?" Rikki
"Mimmi she had her best friend taken from her by a sea god, and now she is about to lose everybody else to a water dragon. Please let us have the bracelet, or a hundred sisters will be lost, and any who remain will feel the same pain you feel at the loss of your friends." Weilan
"How do you know?" Rikki
"Because the dragon destroyed my pod, and the pain of their loss never went away." Weilan
"Everything I find I donate to the foundation. It would take days of filling out forms if I asked to take the bracelet." Rikki
"So why bother asking." Weilan
Rikki agrees to help Weilan get the bracelet, and when they do Weilan thanks her with the promise that someone will teach her to cloak. When Weilan walks into the Grotto with the bracelet it is decided that Mimmi will be the one to use it. Mimmi manages to turn the dragon back into their mother, and then the three of them have a very heart felt reunion.
Rikki swims into the moonpool, and they talk about the defeat of the dragon. When Mimmi is going to give the bracelet back Rikki says.
"Keep it. I'm glad I was able to help the Mako Mermaids before I leave." Rikki
"Leave? Where are you going?" Mimmi
"Ulmo is reuniting me with my friends." Rikki
"No you can't mean that they were..." Mimmi
"Yes my friends were all taken by Ulmo one at a time, and it is my turn to join them." Rikki
"No Rikki you can't this is your home." Mimmi
"The agreement has already been made. I just need to do one thing before I leave." Rikki
Rikki gets out of the moonpool, and steam dries herself before walking over to the wall where the water fall was. Rikki manages to bring out the crystal ledge, and is happy to see that Cleo's Jewellery box is still there. Rikki takes her necklace from her pocket, opens the Jewellery box, and puts her necklace inside with her friends necklaces. Rikki puts on her locket that she hasn't worn in a while before Mimmi walks up behind Rikki when she has gotten out of the pool after steam dying herself, and says.
"What are those?" Mimmi
"These crystals help Mako to repel a comet that would wipe out all life on Earth if it hits. And that is why they must remain here until they are needed." Rikki
"And when will they be needed?" Mimmi
"In another 150 years." Rikki
"When the time comes the Mako pod will handle it. I will tell the elders everything as soon as you have left." Mimmi
"Good. Now I really must be going for a final swim over the reefs." Rikki
"I'll come with you. No one should have to swim alone." Mimmi
"Thanks Mimmi. I pray to Ulmo that you will be reunited with your friend when the time is right." Rikki
"I hope so too." Mimmi
They turn to leave as the wall returns to the way it was, and dive into the pool to go for that swim.
In a bright flash of light Rikki finds herself swimming in an unfamiliar ocean looking out over a sunken city. Rikki swims into the city, and starts exploring. As Rikki is swimming by she sees Cleo swim out of some kind hall, and when Cleo sees her she says.
Rikki you finally came! We missed you so much. - Cleo
Cleo oh I missed you guys just as much. - Rikki
I was just on my way to the café. Why don't you come with me, and we can catch up over a juice? - Cleo

Cleo smiles, and swims off in the direction of the café. When they get there they see a sign saying Rikki's, and Rikki smiles when she realizes who runs the café. When they enter the café Zane looks up from the counter, and can hardly believe his eyes when he sees Rikki walk away from the door. Zane runs up to her, hugs her, and says.
