back at their friends with so much happiness showing on their faces that it is contagious. Even Yuki Soma looks over at them, and smiles a rare smile at the sight of so much happiness.
The next day after school Tohru and Kuro go over to Misono's house for Tohru to have lessons on how to be an Eve. They are having tea in the dinning room. Misono places his tea cup on the table, and says.
"I'm absolutely astounded by your laziness. You haven't even given your Eve a weapon yet. You live up to your title Sloth boy." Misono
Tohru looks from Misono to Kuro, and says.
"Kuro is a weapon something that I should have gotten already?" Tohru
"What's the point of doing something so troublesome? Wouldn't you two rather just look at how cute I am?" Kuro
"While you are the cutest cat ever; I have a lot to learn. I barely know anything about Vampires, or what I should be doing as an Eve. I do know that there are people I want to keep safe. I can't sit back, and do nothing if Vampires are attacking humans." Tohru
"Do you really think you need a weapon?" Kuro
"If it gives me what I need to keep my friends safe; Then yes I do." Tohru
"Ugh, Then close your eyes." Kuro
Tohru closes her eyes, and finds herself in a strange place. She looks around, and sees that she is standing on a green road lined with birthday candles. Tohru looks up, and sees a talking plush cat which says.
"Well happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, you're inside of Kuro now. Come on follow me." plush cat
The two of them begin walking down the road, and the plush cat says.
"You're here for something right. Your very own birthday present." plush cat
"My birthday is a ways off yet, but I'm sure it would be fine to open a present now. Um if you don't mind me asking; Who are you?" Tohru
"I'm another part of Kuro. I'm in charge of his power. Now it's time for you to choose your fate. Unwrap which ever one you like." plush cat
"There are so many, and I'm supposed to pick one to open out of all of those." Tohru
The plush cat brings out a cake, and says.
"Yes happy birthday Tohru. Pick a box, and obtain your very own power. You can't return it once it's been opened, but you will become a stronger person who can protect others." plush cat
Tohru gulps audibly, and the plush cat says.
"Choose carefully, but confidently the ending will be the same no matter what you select. Though there are many routes for you to take. What's important is that your choice reflects who you are inside." plush cat
"Huh. In that case I will take the one with the plain white wrapping paper." Tohru
Tohru reaches out, and touches her selected box. Out of the box appears a black broom with a blue glow. Back in the real world Lilly laughs at her choice, and Kuro says.
"Well, you picked a broom." Kuro
"Hm. A fitting weapon for a commoner." Misono
The broom takes off into the air causing Tohru to chase after it. While this is going on Kuro tries to get her attention, and says.
"What's the deal? Do you have a weird thing about using cleaning supplies as weapons?" Kuro
"No of course I don't." Tohru
Tohru looks up at her flying broom, then it turns into a flash of bright light, and attaches itself to her right wrist. Tohru looks down at the black stripe looking tattoo on her wrist. Tohru rolls her sleeve down, and wonders how she could possibly use a broom as a weapon. Back in Kuro's mind the plush cat lights a candle on the birthday cake he showed to Tohru, and says.
"Now fate is finally in motion." plush cat
After he says this fiery words show up in the sky. In the real world Tohru is going to leave Misono's house after telling him that she has to go to work, but he tells her that they are not done with their lesson yet.
Tohru has been spending the remaining time that she has before work trying to summon her weapon. After awhile of trying Tohru looks at her hand, and says.
"Um why isn't anything happening? Am I doing something wrong?" Tohru
"You need to be able to pull that weapon out at will before you can start learning how to fight." Misono
Tohru looks over at Kuro, and says.
"Hey Kuro; Is there like a trick to this or something?" Tohru
"I'm busy. Don't talk to me until you can summon it." Kuro
"Tohru dear; Why don't you try focusing on exactly why you wanted this power to begin with. Let that thought guide you." Snow Lilly
"But how will that help?" Tohru
"Your Servamp lacks motivation, because you lack resolve. The two are tied together." Misono
Tohru looks at Misono and Lilly, blushes, and says.
"So if Kuro acts according to how I feel does that mean Lilly does too?" Tohru
Misono sees the blush on Tohru's face, figures out exactly what she is talking about, and says.
"No; It's because he's a damn pervert." Misono
"Focus on why I want power. I want power, because I want to keep people safe. Especially the people that I care about the most." Tohru
Misono has a flashback, and Tohru says.
"Hey I should introduce you to them Misono. There's Hana and Uo, but Sakuya has to be the first he is my oldest friend." Tohru
"You can't; You'd just be getting your friends involved. And besides Tsubaki is the only reason we are connected to each other in the first place." Misono
"That's not true. There is no reason we can't all get along my old friends and my new friend." Tohru
Misono gets a very shocked look on his face, and Tohru says.
"Besides Sakuya is already involved because Sakuya is a subclass. The only ones who don't know anything are Hana and Uo, and that is because Lilly erased their memories." Tohru
"Which Servamp made him a subclass?" Misono
"Tsubaki, but don't worry Sakuya is a completely neutral party." Tohru
"How do you know that he could be lieing so that you will let your guard down?" Misono
Tohru starts laughing, and says.
"Sakuya lie you're very funny." Tohru
"Why is that so funny?" Misono
"Because Sakuya detests lies and liars more than anything in the world. So your worries are completely unfounded." Tohru
Misono's face turns red at the false assumption he made just because her friend is one of Tsubaki's subclasses. He manages to collect himself, and says.
"In that case I would like to meet your friend in an equally neutral setting." Misono
"Thank you so much Misono; It's going to be so much fun especially since Hana and Uo are going to be there as well." Tohru
"Um why are you inviting those two?" Misono
"To make sure that the situation remains as neutral as possible." Tohru
"Ok fine. Text me the details of where we are meeting." Misono
Tohru gets a bashful look on her face, and says.
"I would if I could, but I can't so I'll call you from my Grandfather's house instead." Tohru
"What do you mean can't? Don't tell me you have no cellphone." Misono
The look on Tohru's face tells Misono everything he needs to know. He gestures Lilly closer, and Lilly leaves to follow Misono's order.
When Lilly gets back he hands an item to Misono who looks at Tohru, and says.
"Tohru I want you to have this phone; It's on the same plan as mine so it won't cost you anything." Misono
Tohru thinks over her options, and is about to refuse before she decides that refusing would insult her new friend. So Tohru just smiles at Misono, and says.
"Thank you so much for the gift Misono. I really appreciate it." Tohru
Misono hands the phone to Lilly who gives it to Tohru. Lilly returns to Misono's side just as the clock chimes, and Misono falls asleep on his throne. Lilly looks at him, says.
"Huh. I didn't realize it was so late. He falls asleep at nine on the dot." Lilly
"Like a little kid?" Tohru
"Why don't we pick this up tomorrow?" Lilly
"No problem I'm late to work any way. See you tomorrow Lilly." Tohru
Tohru puts her phone in her pocket, and says.
"Thanks for all the help, and advice that the both of you have given me." Tohru
"Our pleasure." Lilly
Tohru leaves to work happy that she is on her way to becoming a proper Eve for Kuro.
The next morning Tohru goes to school as usual, and is very happy to find Sakuya waiting there like he is every day. Since Tohru was put in charge of making the uniforms for the school festival Tohru has made one for Sakuya to try on. Tohru looks at Sakuya, and says.
"Could you do me a favour, and try on this uniform I made for you to wear during the festival?" Tohru
Sakuya looks at the uniform, and sweat drops before saying.
"Tohru you are aware that that is a butler costume right?" Sakuya
"U huh." Tohru
"Fine I'll put on the weird costume, and if it fits I'll even wear it in public." Sakuya
Tohru gets the happiest smile on her face making Hana and Uo laugh at the sight, which only makes Sakuya turn as red as a tomato from all of the attention. It's not to long after that when the bell rings signifying that class is about to start. As soon school ends the four of them are walking out of the school when Tohru grabs Sakuya's sleeve, and says.
"Why don't the four of us have a picnic in the park this weekend?" Tohru
"Sure sounds like fun when do I need to be there?" Uo
"Noon." Tohru
"Sounds like a fine idea Tohru. Do you need me to come early to help you set up?" Hana
Tohru takes a little bit to long coming up with an answer; So Sakuya rescues her by saying.
"I was thinking that it would be a good idea if I help Tohru with the setup in case there is any heavy lifting. So why don't you bring some extra food instead. I think that would be the best way to help Tohru with the picnic." Sakuya
"Very well see you this Saturday Tohru." Hana
"See you then." Tohru
Hana and Uo leave, and when they are gone Tohru breaths a sigh of relief, and says.
"Phew that was to close." Tohru
"Ok Tohru spill. What is going on?" Sakuya
"Well you see; You and I need to have an in private conversation before Hana and Uo arrive at the picnic on Saturday and..." Tohru
"And you didn't know how to turn down Hana's request without sounding suspicious." Sakuya
"Yeah." Tohru
"Don't worry Tohru I got your back when it comes to covering for you with our friends." Sakuya
"Thanks so much Sakuya." Tohru
"No problem. What are friends for right?" Sakuya
"Right. Well I have some chores, and homework to do before work. So I'll see you later Sakuya." Tohru
"Later Tohru." Sakuya
Sakuya waves goodbye to Tohru as the two of them go their separate ways.
After Tohru finishes all of the stuff that she had to do before work Tohru goes to her job like she like she always does when she is on shift. Tohru catches a glimpse of the guilty look on Kuro's face, and says.
"Kuro; What's that look for?" Tohru
"It's just that your simple life has become so complicated, and it's all my fault. If I hadn't come into your life none of this would have ever happened." Kuro
"Don't think like that Kuro. I'm so happy to have you in my life. Just having you here makes my previously bleak and grief filled life so much brighter. Don't ever think that I regret taking you in ever." Tohru
Kuro blushes, and says.
"Thanks Tohru. I'm happy to be your pet too." Kuro
Tohru smiles at him, and gets back to work. Kuro goes back to enjoying his nap with a happy smile on his face. Tohru continues to work hard for the rest of her shift, and when she is done she puts Kuro on her head so she won't disturb him by putting him in her bag.
On her way home from work Tohru stops at a 24 hour convenience store to buy some groceries. Once they are out of the store Kuro paws at the grocery bag, and says.
"Are there chips?" Kuro
"Yes, but this stuff is for the picnic. So you are going to have to wait until Sakuya and the others can have some to?" Tohru
"Sakuya's the clown who's always telling stories, and has weird hair right. I don't think he would get along with that stuck up brat." Kuro
"Stuck up brat? You mean Misono? I'm sure it will be fine Sakuya is my oldest, and best friend." Tohru
"You were childhood friends?" Kuro
"Yeah we've been friends since elementary school." Tohru
"How did you guys meet?" Kuro
"My mom and I moved into his neighbourhood after my Dad died, and I was transferred into his class in school. It took awhile, but we became friends eventually. When Mom and I moved Sakuya made sure to keep in touch. That way we would still be in each other's lives. I was so happy when Sakuya started going to the same school as me. Getting to hangout in person is so much better than only being able to talk over the phone or by email." Tohru
"Why did it take so long for you to become friends? Your kindness is so warm it could melt the most frigid heart." Kuro
"There had been a tragedy in his life, and so Sakuya was pushing everyone away so that way he wouldn't be left more broken than before when they were gone from his life." Tohru
Kuro nods, and thinks ' It doesn't surprise me that Tohru would be able to rip that little plan to shreds with her kind and friendly demeanour.' Kuro and Tohru enjoy a comfortable silence on their way home from the store.
As they are walking they hear a woman screaming. Tohru starts running in the direction of the scream, and ends up running right into an ambush. Tohru and Kuro are tied up with wire, and Belkia shows his ugly mug by throwing a pair of swords next to Kuro. After he gets bored Belkia tries to attack Tohru, but is blocked when Kuro gets in the way of the attack. The creepy magician then attacks Kuro directly. Misono and Snow Lilly show up after Lilly cuts the wires restraining Tohru. Snow Lilly and Belkia begin fighting, and Misono notices the look on Tohru's face that is extremely close to hatred. Misono follows Tohru's line of sight, and sees that she is looking at the Vampire that Lilly is currently fighting. Misono walks up to Tohru, and says.
