"You are so full of it!" Kyo

"I guess I can understand. This does seem sudden." Shigurae

"I suppose I should go ahead, and get my things packed while I still have the rest of the afternoon. We'll try to be out of your way by this evening." Tohru

"Please don't hurry on our account. Feel free to take as much time as you need." Shigurae

"Thanks, but I'm sure they could use my help straitening up and everything, and like the saying goes never put off to tomorrow what you can do today. So I'll be right upstairs if you need me." Tohru

As she rounds the corner Tohru sees Yuki standing there with a shocked look on his face, and says.

"Oh Yuki thank you so much for everything you've done for us." Tohru

"Uh anytime." Yuki

Tohru goes upstairs with Kuro moping on her head over how sad this is making Tohru. Shigurae pokes his head out, and says.

"Hmm a thousand perfectly lovely things you could've said, but what poetry spews from your mouth anytime. Really Yuki I think that must be the most unsentimental thing I've ever heard, or at the very least insensitive. How do you expect to sustain any sort of I don't know meaningful relationship..." Shigurae

Tohru gets to her room, and looks around meanwhile downstairs Shigurae says.

"Aren't you going to try to stop her I mean." Shigurae

"Why would I? We've known from the start that she was only staying here until the remodelling was finished." Yuki

"Um well even so it does seem stuffy in here." Shigurae

"Let her go. We should've never let an outsider in this house to begin with." Kyo

Back in her room Tohru is packing her things, and thinking.

"I really had it wrong this time. I don't know why I thought I could go on living with everyone like a family. Oh mom I can be such a fool sometimes can't I. You know this reminds me of something that happened when I was little. There was this game that all the kids used to play Fruits Basket 'You're an apple, you're a banana, you're an orange, you're a water melon, cherry, peal, peach. Tohru you get to be the rice-ball. The rice-ball ooh that sounds yummy.' I guess they were only trying to tease me a little bit the way kids do sometimes, but I didn't know that then. The game went on, and all the other kids were called one by one. Everyone was running and laughing, and the whole time I sat there smiling hoping that one of them would shout out rice-ball so I could play too. Yeah even since back then I've never been very good about thinking things through. I should've known there's no way I could've joined the others. A rice-ball doesn't belong in a fruits basket.' Tohru

As Tohru is leaving she says.

"There's some fish left in the refrigerator eat it soon so it doesn't go bad ok, and you're almost out of soy sauce so you need to pick some up at the store. Oh, and don't forget they changed the day to pick up the garbage so be sure to put it out on time. What else oh here I wrote down my Grandfathers address and everything. So if there's anything you can't figure out you know where to find me." Tohru

"Thank you Tohru. You really are to good to us." Shigurae

"Not at all I should be the one to say that to you, and don't worry I won't tell anyone about your family curse cross my heart and hope to die." Tohru

"Speaking of which where's that cat?" Yuki

"I'd think you'd know by now. After all sulking on the roof seems to be one of the strange little ways Kyo shows he cares." Shigurae

"Um." Tohru

"Anyway good luck settling into your new home." Shigurae

"Thanks." Tohru

Tohru walks away, and inside the house Shigurae says.

"Well as far as good-byes go that felt pretty good I guess. Hm, although I'd be lying if I didn't say it left me a little sad too." Shigurae

Tohru and Kuro arrive at her Grandfather's house, and she says.

"It's nice to see you again." Tohru

"I didn't expect to see you so soon. You certainly don't waste anytime, and what is that thing on your head?" aunt

"That's my cat. He often takes a nap on my head." Tohru

"Well get rid of him there are no pets allowed in this house." aunt

"No I will not." Tohru

"Then I'll do it for you." aunt

Tohru's aunt picks Kuro up, and roughly throws him out the door. Tohru gets an angry look on her face which disappears as soon as her Grandfather arrives. He walks up to them, and says.

"Ah Tohru welcome home." Grandfather

"Hi Grandpa it's good to be back." Tohru

A few minutes later Tohru is putting away her stuff saying.

"I hope they found everything. I probably should've stayed to make sure they had their dinners at least." Tohru

"Hey are you done putting your junk away or what?" girl cousin

"I'm sorry I'm almost finished." Tohru

"I swear what's the point moving into a bigger house if I'm going to get stuck sharing a room with someone. Just put that stuff somewhere I can't see it." girl cousin

The next morning Tohru's family is waking up to find that Tohru is gone. The last one wakes up, and says.

"Tohru I'm starving what's for breakfast?" Shigurae

Yuki and Kyo look at Shigurae, and he goes on to say.

"I forgot our dear sweet Tohru has gone gone away." Shigurae

"That sounded like you forgot on purpose." Yuki

"No that would be pretty despicable don't you think, but you know without Tohru here it feels like all the fire has gone out of this kitchen doesn't it? Suddenly it feels so cold and dreary." Shigurae

"Dammit you are saying that on purpose aren't you!" Kyo

Shigurae stops Kyo from attacking him, and says.

"In any event consumed by grief though we are I suppose we can't help but get hungry at some point, which reminds me Tohru left us a pot of her delicious beef stew in the refrigerator." Shigurae

Yuki gets it out, and Shigurae says.

"Perfect now why don't you heat that up for us Yuki?" Shigurae

"You're joking right?" Yuki

"Ah of course you're not to handy in the kitchen are you? Well Kyo I guess that leaves you." Shigurae

"Why do I gotta do it?" Kyo

"No no it's alright if you don't mind letting the last of the wonderful beef stew Tohru poured her heart and soul into preparing for us get burnt to a crisp than neither do I. After all I suppose burnt beef stew will be just as satisfying as burnt miso soup, or burnt rice, or burnt eggs, or any of the fine burnt dishes Yuki used to make for us before Tohru fell into our lives. Ah yes we all seemed to do quite well on our charcoal rich diet I'm sure there's no reason we won't grow accustomed to it again." Shiguray

As he finishes saying this Shigurae looks up to see Kyo heating up the stew, and after a few minutes the stew is served. Yuki looks at it, and says.

"I'd have to rate your presentation zero." Yuki

"Fine so do it yourself next time." Kyo

"We thank you for this stew Tohru where ever you are. Ah I'm in heaven, and to think two bright handsome young men like you couldn't even find a way to keep the girl who cooked this delicious stew from leaving. Oh the tragedy." Shigurae

"If she can go back to her Grandfather's house then there's no reason for her to stay here is there?" Yuki

"I'm afraid that only our sorrow will tell us as the long lonely hours without her pass us by, and our only solace will be the few scattered traces of her presence left about the house. Like this cute little strawberry towel for instance. I found it still hanging in the shower I have but to press it against my face, and the sweet scent of Tohru reminds me of happier days." Shigurae

Yuki and Kyo beat Shigurae for his disgusting remark, and Kyo says.

"You sick bastard!" Kyo

They immediately go back to eating their meal.

At Grandfather's house Tohru is having a harder time than she is willing admit to. Boy cousin comes into the room where she is doing chores, and says.

"Say I found these socks in my drawer you put them there?" boy cousin

"Oh is that not right?" Tohru

"Do these really look like something I'd wear?" boy cousin

"I'm sorry I must've thought they were yours." Tohru

"Oh I swear what's the use. Make a note these are Grandpa socks remember that." boy cousin

"Tohru could you spare a moment?" aunt

"Coming." Tohru

Tohru goes to the kitchen, and her aunt says.

"Could you bring me one of the big serving plates please?" aunt

Tohru tries looking for it, her aunt sees her, goes to get it herself, and says.

"For future reference we keep the serving plates over here." aunt

Tohru smiles, and reminisces about the happy days she spent with her family.

That night Tohru goes to her room, and thinks.

'Ah I didn't know it was a full moon tonight it's beautiful. I wonder if Yuki and Kyo can see this right now. Maybe we're all looking at the moon together.' Tohru

Meanwhile Kyo is lying on the roof looking off in the distance also thinking about the time spent with Tohru. Yuki is also reminded of Tohru when he sees her towel hanging in the bathroom. The next day at school Tohru sees Kyo, and says.

"Well hi there good morning." Tohru

"Uh yeah hi." Kyo

Kyo turns, and walks away after saying that. Later she meets up with Yuki who says.

"Miss Honda good morning." Yuki

"And a good morning to you." Tohru

"So how is life at Grandfather's house?" Yuki

As soon as Yuki says this Tohru closes her eyes, and clenches her fists around the handle of her bag as the memory of her aunt throwing Kuro around plays in her head. Yuki sees this, and says.

"Miss Honda is there something wrong?" Yuki

Tohru opens her eyes, and says.

"Yuki please forgive my rudeness, but I'm late for class." Tohru

Tohru walks away fighting with her sadness and anger while she is walking. Yuki watches her with a worried look on his face.

While they are in class Tohru has calmed down, and is thinking.

'So that's it from now on I guess I shouldn't expect things to be the same between me and Yuki and Kyo.' Tohru

After school Tohru is walking out onto the sidewalk when Licht comes up to her, and says.

"Hey Tohru." Licht

"Hey Jekyll." Tohru

"It's your day off right?" Licht

"Yeah." Tohru

"Then why don't we go somewhere relaxing?" Licht

"Sure. I know where there is this beautiful park we could get some take out, and have a picnic." Tohru

Licht nods, and the two of them walk off hand in hand. They are walking out of Licht's favourite takeout place with a very large meal in hand. When they get to the park Tohru sets out the blanket she bought at a store on the way to the restaurant. She sets out the food while Licht makes himself comfortable. Once the portions are dished out, and they are eating in a comfortable silence Licht says.

"Something's bothering you what is it?" Licht

Tohru puts her plate and chop sticks down, picks up Kuro, and says.

"I lost my family again." Tohru

"What? When did this happen?" Licht

"A couple of days ago I got a call from my paternal Grandfather at the school. He told me that I had to come back to his house, and stop imposing on my friends. I didn't want to, but I was powerless to say no." Tohru

" Why?" Licht

"My Grandfather is my legal guardian, and so what he says goes." Tohru

"Why don't you just go back home where you actually belong?" Licht

"I can't go anywhere without my Grandfather's permission, and I have no idea how to get that." Tohru

Tohru starts crying while holding Kuro securely in her arms. Licht wraps his arms around her while she cries. Kuro becomes angry about Tohru being so broken, and resolves to make sure it never happens again. After Tohru's tears dry out she dozes off in Licht's arms. Licht is just as upset as Kuro about Tohru's current state, but he feels powerless to do anything about it. When Tohru wakes up they finish their meals, and Tohru leaves to go back to her Grandfather's house.

While this is happening Kyo arrives home from school, and goes directly to his room to change. Shiguray pokes his head out, and says.

"Oh welcome home. Hi Shigurae it's good to be home; Is that to much to ask?" Shigurae

After that Kyo spends his time laying on the roof remembering all the happy times with Tohru. Yuki is sitting next to his garden, and also reminiscing about Tohru occasionally looking at the strawberry plants he bought for her. Yuki stands up to leave no longer able to take the loneliness her absence brings. Meanwhile Tohru walks through the door of her Grandfather's house, and says.

"Oh hello I'm back for the day." Tohru

"Tohru could you spare a moment?" aunt

"Sure." Tohru

"It's my understanding that you've been living in a house with three men. Is that right?" aunt

"No way! You were shacked up? Nice going." girl cousin

"I had a detective agency do some checking up on you." aunt

"Yeah no kidding. So those kind of things still exist now a days." girl cousin

"I don't understand. Why would you go to all that trouble?" Tohru

"On account of our oldest son it's his dream to become a policeman. So you can see how it might cause a problem for anyone in his family to have a criminal record. At first I did think that hiring a detective agency seemed a bit extreme until I remembered how wild Kyoko was in her youth. Like mother like daughter as they say, or so I feared. Now as long you're living in this house I have to ask you not to do anything so reckless in the future." aunt

"Tell us Tohru living in a house with three guys I'll bet you had all sorts of fun didn't you." boy cousin

Grandfather slaps boy cousin on the cheek, and aunt says.

"Grandpa what did you?" aunt

"Don't you know how to do anything besides ridicule others? Tohru I apologize please don't think poorly of them they're just disagreeable folks by nature." Grandfather

"Grandpa what has gotten into you?" aunt

"You can't say that." girl cousin
