Tohru leaves the room while all the bickering is going on. Her Grandfather comes up to her, and says.
"Tohru? Please understand this family is dear to me, and this is where I live. Even if they do say a few thoughtless things I can tolerate it, however there's no reason for you to put up with it to keep living here." Grandfather
"You want me to..." Tohru
"Uh it's not like that. I'm not trying to chase you out of here. It's just that it wasn't like Kyoko to put up with anything, and you are her daughter. Do you understand? Kyoko would be more vivacious living in a place where she could spread her arms wide. Your father would've said so as well." Grandfather
"My father really?" Tohru
"Um-hum so if there's somewhere you'd rather be darling you can go." Grandfather
"But that wouldn't be right. How could I be anything less than grateful for what I have? I've been blessed with a mother who loved me three wonderful friends Sakuya, Hana, and Uo. What more could I possibly want when I have people in my life who care about me as much as they do? There are so many people who've been kind to me Yuki and the others, and you you've given me a place at your table a roof over your head I should feel like the luckiest girl in the world I have so much to be thankful for right here. So where else would I rather be except I didn't think leaving Yuki and the others would make me feel so lonely. There was still so much I hoped to learn about all of them. I wanted us to go on eating our meals together like a family. Where I could talk to them about so many things everything. The truth of it is I didn't want to leave them at all. It felt like I belonged there I wanted to stay there in that house with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigurae. I wanted to stay." Tohru
While all this is happening Kuro has had enough of Tohru being sad, and decides to go looking for Yuki and Kyo. He is in luck, because he finds them wandering in search of the house Tohru is living in. Kuro jumps on Yuki's shoulder, and says.
"If you want to find Tohru I'll take you to her." Kuro
"Alright then lead the way." Yuki
Kuro takes them around the long way to give Tohru the time to resolve things with her Grandfather. They arrive at the house in time to hear all of Tohru's confession. Yuki goes into the house, and says.
"In that case why not come home." Yuki
"Yuki?" Tohru
"Who is this?" aunt
"Come on lets go." Kyo
"Kyo you're here too, but then uh no wait Kyo." Tohru
"I hope you don't mind the door was unlocked so we let ourselves in. Can I find Miss Honda's things upstairs?" Yuki
"Now just a moment; Who are you? What is going on here?" aunt
"Don't worry we'll be out of your way before you know it." Yuki
"Ah, I get it now. These must be the two guys the little tramp was shacking up with." boy cousin
Yuki walks up to boy cousin, and says.
"Don't you ever talk about Miss Honda that way again you low-life." Yuki
"Uh um wait Kyo how did you get here?" Tohru
"What do you mean how? You left the directions, and what kind of a stupid map was that anyway. Even with Kuro's help I got stuck having to walk around half the city looking for you with that damn Yuki." Kyo
'They must've been fighting the whole way, and they still came to find me.' Tohru
"What are you smiling about?" Kyo
"Oh I uh I'm sorry." Tohru
"That's not what I meant to say. I uh what I mean is I just...I don't even know why I'm doing this. It's just for some reason ever since you left I've been getting pissed off about everything, and I couldn't figure out why so it just pissed me off even more, and really if you didn't want to leave you could've said so from the beginning. You ever think about that?" Kyo
"What but how did you?" Tohru
"We heard you every word. You know you can tell people what you want. I mean it's annoying if you do it all the time, but I'd say in your case you could stand to speak up for yourself a little more. Complain a little, get upset or something, let people know what's on your mind. It's what you gotta do sometimes." Kyo
Tohru starts crying, and Kyo says.
"Ahh, oh come on what did I say? Why are you crying?" Kyo
"Can we go? Please I want to go home. Take me back to the house now ok." Tohru
Yuki and Kuro come carrying all of her things, Kyo grabs her hand, and says.
"So walk already. I'm not going to drag you the whole way there." Kyo
As they are walking Tohru thinks.
'It's true mom I really must be the luckiest girl in the world. I think I'm where I belong here in this house with my new family. It's so good to be home.' Tohru
As soon as they have settled into the house again Kuro goes into Shigurae's office, closes the door behind him, and says.
"Since we are going to be living here permanently there are some important things we need to talk about." Kuro
"Like what?" Shigurae
"Like Tohru's position in your household." Kuro
"What are you talking about?" Shigurae
"Tohru can't keep living here as a live-in maid. Some thing more permanent needs to be arranged." Kuro
"I hadn't thought about that. What do you have in mind?" Shigurae
"The way I see it there is only one way to resolve this problem. You need to adopt Tohru as your daughter." Kuro
Shigurae thinks over Kuro's solution, and says.
"That certainly would solve a lot of problems. Not only would it give Tohru a reason for living here it would also stop Akito from causing her to many problems." Shigurae
"Akito? So that is the name of your current god." Kuro
"So you know about that? There is no way Tohru told you about that, because we haven't told her." Shigurae
"You're right she didn't, because I already knew the Soma family secret." Kuro
"Then why were you surprised when you saw us transform the first time?" Shigurae
"Because it had been so many centuries since I thought of your cursed family that I had forgotten." Kuro
"And the incident when Tohru found out refreshed your memory." Shigurae
"Yeah. We are getting off topic Shigurae. Are you going to use my solution to the problem?" Kuro
"Yes. I will have the paperwork drawn up first thing tomorrow, but I have to ask. What caused you to come up with this idea?" Shigurae
"Tohru was heart-broken when she had to leave, and I never want to see that again ever." Kuro
"And you will do what ever is necessary to make sure that it never happens again." Shigurae
"Yeah." Kuro
Kuro changes forms, and leaves Shigurae's office happy that he has found a way to help his Eve. Shigurae is sitting in his office happy that Tohru loves them as if they were her family, but also extremely puzzled about Tohru's pet cat. He knows that Kuro is not a regular cat, but he has no clue what he actually is. Shigurae can also tell that Kuro cares a great deal about Tohru so he doesn't have to worry about her safety. On a cheerier note Shigurae is looking forward to Tohru being his precious daughter. Tohru is such a kind and caring person that it will be his honour to welcome her into the family. Shigurae is happy that Tohru has found a place to belong in their family. He will do his utmost to make sure that if a man captures her heart that he will treat her well. Like Kuro Shigurae doesn't want to see Tohru's heart broken if it is at all possible to stop it from happening.
The next morning Tohru talks to Shigurae saying.
"Um as long as I'm going to be living here; Do you think it would be alright if I told two of my friends where I am? I'm sure they'll really want to know. If that's ok?" Tohru
"So long as you don't mention anything about the Zodiac and what not I don't particularly mind." Shigurae
"Thanks so much." Tohru
'You see the Soma family have been living under a secret curse for generations. If they are ever hugged by members of the opposite sex they transform into animals from the Chinese Zodiac. It's hard to believe, but it's true. And naturally this is a secret they can't let anyone find out about.' Tohru
At school Tohru tells her friends about her living arrangements two of them are very surprised, and say.
"What! So not only where you living in a tent, but you've moved into Prince Yuki's house! Seriously!" Uo
"Yes I'm sorry for not saying anything about it sooner. There was a lot that happened, but everything's fine now. And they're all really nice people. So there's nothing to worry about." Tohru
"I notice that you are not at all surprised by one of these startling revelations." Hana
"That's because I already knew about Tohru being Yuki Soma's live-in housekeeper, but I had no idea that she was living in a tent before that." Sakuya
Sakuya glares angrily at Tohru, and Hana says.
"This is definitely a bolt out of the blue. I wonder how will the Prince Yuki fan club girls react when they hear the news?" Hana
"Hm I thought it was strange how you've been spending so much time talking to the prince and orange top lately. Now I understand." Uo
"Perhaps we should have them invite us over? I'd like to see for myself weather or not this is a suitable environment for you to be living." Hana
"Hey great idea let's check it out right now." Uo
"Wait if we show up unexpectedly they may not serve snacks." Hana
"Ooh another good point your two for two. Ok we'll stay over tomorrow night." Uo
"That's ok isn't Tohru?" Sakuya
"Oh wait...Ok." Tohru
Shigurae's excited to meet Tohru's friends, and says.
"High school girls, high school girls 123 high school girls. I can't help, but wondering what kind of girls these friends of Tohru's are." Shigurae
"A Yankee, a psychic, and a joker..." Kyo
"And only the first two are girls." Yuki
Tohru hears the door open, and says.
"Uh there here." Tohru
Tohru gets to the door, and says.
"Hi come in I guess you found the house ok." Tohru
"No we got lost." Uo
"That's putting it mildly." Sakuya
In the other room Kyo says.
"I'm thinking this was a bad idea." Kyo
"Just don't do anything stupid." Yuki
"That goes double for you you damn rat." Kyo
"Yes, all of us would do well to be careful while they're here, because I wonder if either of these girls were to find out about the family curse what would happen? And think at the very least I suppose that Tohru would no longer be allowed to stay in this house. Well either way something's bound to turn out." Shigurae
"You just like hearing yourself talk don't you." Yuki
"There's a dog over there." Hana
"Oh yes that's a dog." Shigurae
The three friends of Tohru sit at the table in the living room, and Tohru says.
"So these are my friends Sakuya Watanuki, Arisa Uotani, and Saki Hanagima." Tohru
"Nice to meet ya, hey, a pleasure." friends of Tohru
"Yes welcome, welcome please make yourselves right at home." Shigurae
Sakuya can tell that he is very nervous about something, and says.
"So Shiguray you wouldn't be thinking about lieing to us would you?" Sakuya
"No. Why would you ask that?" Shigurae
Sakuya gets a scary look on his face, and says.
"Because that would be a very bad idea, and you seem pretty nervous about something." Sakuya
"You don't say." Shigurae
"Say it's Shigurae right this is your place. So what do you do to pay the rent around here?" Uo
"Oh me I'm a writer well a novelist actually." Shigurae
"Did you say you're a novelist?" Tohru
"Why the heck are you so surprised?" Uo
"This is the first she's heard of it." Hana
"Right. I really had no idea." Tohru
Kuro jumps from Tohru's head to Yuki's, and makes himself comfortable. Sakuya sees this, and knows instantly that at least Yuki can be trusted with Tohru's safety.
Yuki turns his head, looks at Shigurae, and says.
"What was it again fine literature,or something?" Yuki
Shiguray takes out a piece of dime store smut, and says.
"This sort of story." Shigurae
Everyone's really shocked by what they are seeing, Shigurae sees this, and says.
"Oh sorry my mistake this is my real work. This one here is just something I did for fun." Shigurae
Shigurae says this while holding up two books, and Uo says.
"So that makes it ok to write that dime store smut." Uo
"You're a sicko you know that." Kyo
"What were you thinking?" Yuki
"Shigurae that's amazing. To think I actually know someone as important as a novelist." Tohru
"Careful Miss Honda you don't want to inflate his ego to much." Yuki
"Like his head could get any bigger than it already is." Kyo
'How wonderful I just made another new discovery.' Tohru
"Well enough about me. Why don't you tell us something about yourselves? You could start by telling us how you met Tohru." Shigurae
"What serious?" Uo
"I'm sure we'd all like to hear right Yuki right Kyo?" Shigurae
"Uo saved me. 'Hey pin-head you better not step on those you...' Wait let me back up this one time in middle-school I dropped on my nose in the hall." Tohru
"What have I done?" Shigurae
When Tohru hears Shigurae say this she has a brief flashback, but is fine before anyone notices. Uo is looking at her, and says.
"Uh yeah I remember that. I guess I could get a little rough back then." Uo
'Back then?' Yuki, and Kyo
"Well you were still a Yankee then weren't you?" Tohru
