Prologue: Life Goes On Part Two

Friday: Day Twenty Six continued...

In a flash of white and gold light everything had been put back to rights and all was right in the world. There were no strange creatures running around attacking people, buildings weren't destroyed, and people weren't turning on each other.

Already the citizens of Tokyo didn't remember the image of the strange man speaking in the sky. Everything was good, normal, and they felt compelled to return to their lives and no longer cower in fear or hide themselves away.

A few of those people were parents with their children, couples, and single individuals walking and enjoying the remains of the bright day. Suddenly a woman screamed loudly, and pointed at a figure on the ground.

Another woman screamed as well as she saw what it was. A concerned man went toward it cautiously, and realized abruptly that it was an unconscious naked man with white hair pass his shoulders.

.:xXx:.

The glass doors leading from the emergency medical vehicle parking area to the hospital emergency room slid open, and a paramedic pushed in a young man on a rolling stretcher covered in a white sheet from his chest down to his toes.

"What do we have?" A female in green scrubs and a white overcoat asked as she moved toward the newly arrived patient.

"We estimate this man to be in his mid twenties, twenty-five to twenty-six. He has no wounds on his body whatsoever; not even a scar. His breathing is stable, his heartbeat is normal, and his blood pressure is normal." The male paramedic reported.

"This is the fourth case with these exact circumstances today." The doctor commented with a frown. "I can't help wondering if this is all a coincidence or if these cases are somehow related."

They rolled the unconscious man through the ER to the same section with the other three cases, and the doctor began to check him over. Everything was fine with the young man, so she had some male nurses come dress him in a hospital gown so he would be wearing something other than a sheet.

While they did that she began to look over the charts of the other young men. The first one to arrive at the hospital was a young man with long wavy brown hair down to the middle of his back with dark blue eyes. By his looks he was estimated to be in his late teens between eighteen and nineteen years old. He had been found in a large park area with tall thick trees.

The next one to come in had long blonde hair pulled back into a low ponytail with green eyes. He was estimated to be in his mid to late teens around sixteen and seventeen years old, and had oddly enough been found on a fire escape.

She put down the chart and moved on to the last young man and picked up his chart. He had short pale blonde hair and gray eyes, and was estimated to also be in his late teens around eighteen years old. He'd been found a few miles from the area the latest arrival had been discovered in.

The doctor held in a sigh and moved back to the most recent arrival since the nurses were finished and checked his eyes. They were blue, and there was no reaction when she flashed a light in them besides dilation. She noted those observations down in his chart, and began to hook him up to heart and blood pressure monitors to be able to monitor him in case his vitals changed.

All four young men were unconscious, possibly comatose, but other then that they were perfectly stable and healthy.

She decided to have them moved to a room so they could be monitored together.

A few days later...

Blue eyes opened groggily and blinked slowly in the dim light. White hair shifted as the young man turned his head to the left, and saw that he was in a large white room. The windows he glimpsed showed that it was daylight outside. He turned his head to the right and discovered that he was not alone.

He shifted his body and slowly sat up and blinked over at his roommates to see three other guys. He looked around and finally noticed the machine next to his bed and that he was connected to it, and understood from the combination that he was in a hospital. He was confused at why he was there since he didn't feel hurt in any way; not even a slight ache.

A groan came from one of his roommates and he looked over to see the guy in the middle shifting around.

Green eyes blinked open before they closed again. He shifted onto his side, moving his arm to get comfortable, but found it difficult. He opened his eyes again and looked to see thin white wires coming from him. He followed them over and up to a machine, and he blinked in confusion.

He sat up and looked around, seeing one guy to his immediate left and right, before he spotted another guy sitting up and looking his way. He blinked his eyes away and took in the white room and dim lights, and realized from that and the machine he was attached to that he was in a hospital room.

He blinked over to the white haired guy in confusion as he wondered why he was there, and if there was any significance to him being in a room with the other three guys.

A huff to his right interrupted his confusion and he and the white haired guy looked over to see the guy with short pale blonde hair open his eyes.

Gray eyes opened wearily and he yawned, closing his eyes as he stretched only to find his hand slamming painfully into something hard. He cried out slightly as he snatched his hand back and tried to shake the pain away.

He opened his eyes and had to blink rapidly to clear his vision. He looked around and began to carefully sit up. It was clear to him from what he was seeing that he was in a hospital room, but he didn't feel pain or hurt in any way beyond the slight ache in his hand.

He didn't remember being hurt or any accident, but more worrying he couldn't remember anything before waking up.

The pale blonde haired man looked to the others in the room, and especially at the ones that were awake. He didn't recognize them but because he couldn't remember anything he didn't know if he had ever met them.

They all shared confused and wary looks, but before anyone could think to say anything they heard shifting and all eyes turned to the last man in the room to regain consciousness.

A head with long wavy brown hair shifted from side to side before a deep breath was taken and released as dark blue eyes slowly drifted open. He took in the bright white room, the hospital gown he was wearing, and the wires attached to him, and he understood that he was in some kind of medical room. Either a hospital room or something else.

The problem was he didn't feel hurt or sick, and he couldn't remember how he had ended up there. In fact, he couldn't remember anything of significance prior to opening his eyes.

He frowned and looked around only to freeze as he realized he wasn't alone. As he sat up he saw that there were three other guys in the room, and they all looked like him. Drowsy, confused, and worried.

He wondered if they couldn't remember either, and that was why they were in the room together.

"Does anyone know why we're here?" He asked quietly, and everyone shook their heads.

"I know that we all woke up at the same time." The man with white hair spoke up. "At least judging by everyone's reaction, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't remember anything before waking up here."

"Me either." The man with green eyes and blonde ponytail said in concern.

Both the man with long brown hair and the man with short blonde hair nodded to indicate that they didn't remember either.

"Do any of you remember your name?" The man with short pale blonde hair asked hesitantly.

There were varying reactions to his question. Grimaces, frowns, and looks of concern as each of them silently shook their head.

The door to the room opened and all four sets of eyes quickly shifted to see a female begin to enter the room only to pause as she saw all the occupants awake and staring at her.

"I'll be right back." She told them softly before backing up and closing the door.

Minutes later she returned with another female; this one wearing green scrubs and a white coat, clearly indicating she was the doctor.

She moved toward the closest bed, where the man with white hair currently sat, and began to check him over as she explained to the patients where they were, how they were found, and how long they had been in the hospital.

As she checked each of them over she discovered that their physical situation hadn't changed. They were still healthy and they had no troubles moving around or speaking. However, it became clear rather quickly that none of them knew who they were, how old they were, or where they came from; nor did they recognize each other.

She wasted no time informing the men that they were all physically healthy, but that she wanted to keep them for a few more days to make sure nothing changed now that they were conscious. In the meantime she would get in contact with the police and social workers, so they could try and find out who they were and what happened to them as well as help them figure out what to do next in terms of living their lives.

The four young men looked at each other in confusion and concern as they listened to the doctor talk of contacting police and social workers, and couldn't help wondering what was going to happen to them and where their lives would go from here.
