Chapter 6
"Alright!" Rachel cheered as she leapt in the air and Crystal skipped ahead of them, giggling. "I'm so stoked you got that shiny Milotic, Kairi."
"And you put that big-mouthed meanie in his place!" Crystal giggled.
Kairi smiled. "The competition was fun," she said. "I honestly wasn't expecting a Milotic, let alone a shiny one."
"You earned her," Rachel said, smiling as Milotic floated around them, rubbing her head affectionately against Kairi's shoulder.
Suddenly, a net sprang out and landed on top of both Milotic and Kairi, trapping them. "Hey!" Kairi cried out in shock.
"Milotic!" The pokemon cried out in shock.
"Alright who did that!?" Rachel called out angrily as Crystal
"That would be our handy work," said a voice.
The girls turned their heads to see two shady-looking people with one of them holding a net catcher.
"Alright who are you people?!" Rachel demanded to know.
The voice chuckled. "I guess we should introduce ourselves to these newbies then, wouldn't you say?"
"Prepare for trouble…," said a new voice.
"…and make it double!" Said the first voice.
"Here's our mission, so you better listen!" Both said at once before taking turns to speak.
"To infect the world with devastation!"
"To blight all people in every nation!"
"To denounce the goodness of truth and love!"
"To extend our wrath to the stars above!"
The first figure pulled off her disguise to reveal herself. "Cassidy!" She said.
The second figure pulled off his disguise to reveal himself. "And Butch, of course!"
"We're Team Rocket, circling earth all day and night!"
"Surrender to us now or you will surely lose the fight!"
The three girls looked at them in confusion, having never heard of them or Team Rocket.
"Team Rocket?" Kairi questioned.
"Cassidy?" Rachel repeated in confusion.
"And Dutch?" Crystal asked.
"The name is Butch, not Dutch, you little brat!" Butch yelled at her.
Rachel rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Anyways what do you think your doing?!" She asked.
"Isn't it obvious? We're taking that Milotic, even you should be smart enough to know that," the young man said smugly.
"We were sent to the Hoenn region to retrieve a shiny Milotic for Professor Namba's special research project," Cassidy said.
"Though when we reached our destination, you already beat us to it, so we've been keeping an eye on you three."
"We know you just started traveling, so why don't you make it easy for all of us and hand over that Milotic and the rest of your pokemon as well."
Rachel glared at them. "That's not gonna happen, go Sky!" She said, tossing out the Ultra Ball and out came the Zubat, ready to battle.
"Treecko, I choose you!" Crystal cried out, tossing out her Pokeball and the pokemon came out.
"A Treecko and Zubat; how adorable. This shouldn't take long; I'll take the little brat, you handle the other one, Butcher," Cassidy said.
"It's Butch!" He retorted.
Cassidy rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Okay Houndoom, let's go!" She tossed out the Pokeball and out came the fire/dark type.
"Come on out Cloyster!" Butch said, tossing out his Pokeball and out came the water/ice type.
"Alright Treecko, use Bullet Seed!" Crystal said, knowing she'd have to be careful.
Treecko opened his mouth and fired multiple gold seeds surrounded in a light green aura at Cloyster.
"Sky, use Gust!" Rachel said, knowing she had to be careful too.
Sky's wings glowed light blue and he flapped his wings at high speed and created a gust of wind from them.
Cassidy laughed. "This is child's play. Houndoom, use Flamethrower on Treecko!"
Houndoom opened his mouth and released a stream of red-orange flames, which hit the grass type move and the Wood Gecko Pokemon got hit by the super effective fire type attack.
"Cloyster, use Blizzard on Zubat!" Butch commanded.
Cloyster fired a powerful blizzard from his face, which hit the flying type attack and pushed it back, hitting the Bat Pokemon with the super effective ice type attack and both Sky and Treecko were knocked out cold.
"Sky!" Rachel cried out, shocked.
"Treecko!" Crystal cried out in worry.
"And now to make sure you two don't go anywhere," Butch said as he fired a net on the sisters after they recalled their Pokemon.
"Quickly, let's get these brats' pokemon and the Milotic and get them back to base before anyone show up," Cassidy said.
"What do you think your doing to my nieces?!" Came an angry voice.
Everyone looked to see the sisters' uncle, Charles, and he did not look happy at all.
"Uncle Charles, these Team Rocket creeps, Cassidy and Bill, are trying to take our pokemon and trapped us and Kairi!" Rachel said, relieved her uncle had been around the area. Crystal was happy too to see her uncle.
"The name is Butch!" The young man said angrily.
Charles looked at the two Team Rocket criminals. "I would suggest you release my nieces and their friend and leave right now," he said firmly.
"And I would suggest you think twice before you threaten us, old man! Houndoom, use Crunch!" Cassidy commanded.
"Cloyster, Smart Strike!" Butch commanded.
Houndoom's teeth glowed white as he jumped towards Charles ready to use the dark type move and Cloyster rushed forward, aiming his horn at the man.
"Uncle Charles!" Crystal cried out in worry.
"Look out!" Kairi yelled in warning.
Charles calmly pulled out a Luxury Ball. "Alright Claydol, use Gyro Ball!" He said as he tossed the ball up and out came the psychic/ground type.
Two light blue orbs appear at the end of Claydol's arms and started spinning rapidly and floating into the two, knocking them both back and canceling their attacks, much to the grunt's frustration.
"Cloyster, use Hydro Pump now!" Butch said.
Cloyster released a powerful stream of water from his mouth at the Clay Doll Pokemon.
Rachel, already knowing her uncle would win, shook her head. "Not a smart move, dude," she said.
"Claydol, use Hyper Beam!" Charles commanded.
Claydol pointed both of its arms at Cloyster and a purple ball of energy appears at the point end of its arms and fired a dark purple beam of energy with a dark black energy around it at the incoming water attack, making both attacks meet, but the Hyper Beam pushed back the Hydro Pump until it broke through and landed, creating quite the explosion. When the smoke cleared, it showed Cloyster on the ground, knocked out cold.
Butch glared as he returned Cloyster to his pokeball and pulled out another one, but was stopped when Cassidy grabbed his arm. "What are you doing?" He hissed at her.
"Obviously this plan is a bust; we need a new plan. Houndoom, use Smog!" She commanded.
Houndoom opened his mouth and released a thick cloud of black smoke that covered the entire area. It reached the girls and made them cough a bit.
"Claydol, use Gyro Ball to blow away the smoke!" Charles said, worried for the girls.
Two light blue orbs appeared at the end of its arms again and started spinning rapidly, clearing the area of smoke. When the smoke cleared, it revealed that the two Team Rocket criminals were gone, but that wasn't the man's main concern at the moment. "Claydol, use Psychic to get the nets off the girls," he asked.
Claydol's eyes started glowing light blue and the nets became outlined in light blue and floated upward off the girls and Milotic, who looked happy to be free.
Charles nodded. "Thanks for the help, Claydol," he said, returning it back to its Luxury ball.
Rachel ran to her uncle, hugging him. Thanks for saving us from Team Rocket, Uncle Charles." She said before looking curious. "Do you know who Team Rocket is?"
"Team Rocket was a criminal organization in the Kanto region that steal other people's pokemon and tried to take over the world. From what I've heard, their boss Giovanni disbanded the organization years ago and disappeared after being defeated, it seems like someone else must've taken over in his absence. Anyways I want you girls to be extra careful since Team Rocket is here, understand?" Charles said, hugging his two nieces and also giving Kairi a hug when she hugged him in gratitude.
"We understand, but what are you doing out here, Uncle?" Rachel asked curiously.
"Oh, I got a call from Nurse Joy saying there were a bunch of abandoned pokemon eggs up in the mountains and asked for my help since she's busy at the pokemon center," the man said with a smile. "Do you girls want to help me before continuing on your journey?"
"Yes!" Crystal said excitedly as she had always loved whenever they got Pokemon eggs at their home and looked after them.
"I wouldn't mind doing that," Kairi said.
"Looks like the vote is unanimous," Rachel said with a smile as the three followed Charles to the Pokemon center near the mountains where the eggs were supposed to be.
Meanwhile in an unknown area...
"What do you mean you couldn't get that shiny Milotic?! It shouldn't be that hard to catch!" Nanba yelled at his lackeys.
"Well, you see, professor, we were about to…," Butch began but was cut off.
"I don't want to hear any excuses, Biff. Just get that shiny pokemon now! I need it for my research and for Team Rocket's new experiment, so get to it!" Nanba yelled before the transmission ended.
Butch sighed. "I don't get why you wanted us to retreat, Cassidy. Our plan was perfect," he said.
"Yes, if their uncle hadn't gotten involved. He no doubt is an experienced trainer with powerful pokemon. Those girls will obviously stick with him for now," Cassidy said.
"So how do we get that Milotic then? I'm not gonna sit around here wait for them to go their separate ways."
"Well, they're heading towards a mountain, so we'll ambush them there. We capture their uncle first…," the girl said.
"…and trade him for that Milotic," Butch said, liking the idea.
"Precisely," Cassidy said with a smile. "C'mon, lets move. The sooner we finish this, the sooner Team Rocket's ultimate plan will be completed."
Oh, dear. Looks like we got some trouble now.
