Quinn was horrified when she got the alert of the article about Grace being in love with Rachel. She knew her sister's comments would come back to haunt her and even told her so that Sunday morning when she had seen the comments.
Quinn stormed into Grace's room as Grace jumped a bit. "Umm have you heard of knocking?" Grace said annoyed to her sister who placed the screenshot she had taken of her sister's comment in front of her.
"What the hell is this?" Quinn demanded.
"It's called being nice online to someone, maybe you should try it sometime," Grace shot back at her sister as Quinn scoffed.
"Don't be so naive, Grace. Do you know what leaving a comment like that on Rachel Berry's video is going to do to your social life? You're going to be a pirah," Quinn said, annoyed.
"Newsflash Quinn, I already am. The jocks and the Cheerios already hate me for the people I hang out with. So, I stood up to the bullies online, you think I don't know they'll retaliate? I don't care what they do. I'm just sick of standing around while everyone else is tortured," Grace said seriously.
"You know I can't protect you forever with them," Quinn said, upset.
"And I don't expect you to Quinnie," Grace said seriously as she sighed "Look, I know being the queen bee of the school is important to you, but being a decent person is more important to me than what anyone thinks of me." Quinn nodded, not knowing why her sister was like this and decided to let it go.
Now that it was going around the school, Quinn knew she had to do something. Grace had been trying to protect her secret and that meant everything to Quinn. So, she knew she had to confront her squad and make sure that none of them were the ones to start the rumor. This was Quinn's school, after all.
She posted on the Cheerios MySpace page "Emergency Meeting right after school, Celibacy Club Classroom. Be there or face the consequences".
Quinn smirked knowing the squad knew that meant the meeting was mandatory. She was going to read them the riot act for going after Grace themselves or having their boyfriends do it which Quinn knew was just as bad. She was going to make sure none of her squad ever strayed like this again, not if she could help it.
Meanwhile, Grace was seated in class as Rachel approached her "Grace. Just the person I was looking for," Rachel said seriously as Grace looked up.
"Rachel…can I help you?" she asked, confused why Rachel would approach her with the rumors swirling around.
"As I'm sure you heard Jacob Ben Israel posted some ludicrous story about how you're in love with me and that sources spotted us kissing," Rachel said as Grace nodded.
"I'm aware," Grace said simply, confused as to where Rachel was going with this.
"Well one of my dads is a lawyer and he's threatening to sue if Jacob doesn't take down the article and post a retraction, one where yours truly will be setting the record straight," Rachel said seriously as Grace looked stunned.
"You would do that?" Grace said, surprised.
"Of course I would. I mean, firstly, it's not even true and that's just libel, which my dad is happy to point out in front of a judge if we need to. Also, you were the only person who put themselves out there to defend me and I do appreciate that. There aren't a lot of people who would put themselves on the line for me," Rachel said seriously as Grace shrugged.
"I only did what I thought was right and your covers are good, Rachel," Grace smiled a bit.
"Thank you," Rachel smiled back, "I just thought I should let you know." Rachel then headed to her own seat as Grace wondered if she had just made a good friend, or possibly a powerful ally in Rachel. Either way, Grace was glad she did what she believed in.
That afternoon, Quinn met the squad in the Celibacy Club Classroom as she glared at all of them. "I'm sure you all know why we're here today," Quinn said seriously, hands on hips.
"Is it because I forgot to wear underwear again?" Brittany asked as the other cheerios just looked at her as Quinn rolled her eyes.
"No Brittany. Not at all," Quinn said simply before taking a deep breath "Ladies, I am very disappointed that there's a certain article out there about my sister with a lot of false claims and I want to know who started it."
"Why does that matter?" Santana shot back at Quinn who narrowed her eyes at Santana.
"It matters because whoever did this is trying to ruin my sister's reputation," Quinn said seriously.
"Well what if whoever were sources actually saw what they said they did," Hanna, another cheerleader asked.
"Well Hanna if they did, they shouldn't spread it to Jacob Ben Israel of all people. You should confront me about it and I'd make sure she'd never do that again," Quinn said seriously.
"I don't see what's so bad about the article. I mean love is love right?" Brittany piped up trying to be supportive.
"That's nice of you to say Britt, but you know most of the school doesn't feel that way," Quinn said seriously as Brittany nodded.
"I guess it's true. I mean if it was two hot girls they'd probably feel differently," Brittany said seriously as Santana tried not to laugh at Brittany's claims.
"Moving on...if I find out any of you had anything to do with this, I'll tell Coach Sylvester myself and we'll see who stays on the squad and who gets on laundry and cleaning duty or worse…kicked off the squad," Quinn said seriously as the Cheerios gasped horrified, starting to whisper about what they should do, all but Brittany who just sat there smiling innocently.
"Britt…if you want to leave you can," Quinn told her quietly, noticing she was the only member of the squad not to have a strong reaction.
"Okay thanks. I need to go feed Lord Tubbington. He gets angry when he's hungry," Brittany said seriously as she got up and left, still confused about why this meeting was so bad but shrugged it off.
"Hold up, why does Britt get to leave and the rest of us can't?" Santana demanded annoyed as the other cheerleaders joined in complaining.
"Because I know Brittany had nothing to do with this. She's the only one of you who didn't freak out when I threatened your position. Besides, Brittany doesn't lie," Quinn shot back at Santana giving her a glare, having a feeling it was her who started all of this.
"Duh she doesn't lie. But I don't think this witch hunt is going to help. Give it up Q. No one is going to say anything about this because of your threats," Santana smirked as Quinn scoffed.
"Fine. I'll just have to find out for myself and when I do, whoever's involved will pay," Quinn said as she stormed off, clearly annoyed at her squad.
Meanwhile, that afternoon was the second Glee Club rehearsal where they were slowly getting better at their performance of 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat'. "Alright guys, that's an improvement from this morning. Now, I want to introduce a new performance at our next rehearsal, we are going to be performing a duet from Grease," Mr. Schue said as Grace's eyes lit up hearing this. The summer musical she had been a part of was Grease and she had landed the role of Sandy, she hoped her musical theater training would come in handy with possibly getting the female lead.
"I know we said we were going to take turns, so Kurt, I think you'll be our Danny Zuko," Mr. Schue said as Kurt seemed surprised but seemed good with taking the lead.
"Now, who wants to try out for Sandy?" Mr. Schue asked as Rachel's hand quickly shot up as did Mercedes', Grace also raised her hand, slightly less confident than the other two.
"Well why don't we try each of you out singing the song? It's the closing number, 'You're the One that I Want'," Will said as he handed each of the girls the sheet music for the lead.
"I don't need sheet music. I'm fully prepared to wow," Rachel said confidently handing Mr. Schue back the sheet music.
"Oh-kay as long as you're sure Rachel," Mr. Schue said.
"Positive. I was born to play this role," Rachel said seriously.
"Says who?" Mercedes scoffed.
"Excuse me?" Rachel whined.
"You heard me, Little Miss Every Role is Mine. You have nothing in common with Sandy," Mercedes shot back at Rachel.
"And you do?" Rachel scoffed.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Mercedes said, narrowing her eyes at Rachel.
"You know exactly what it means. You're not the right person to be cast for such an iconic role," Rachel said seriously as Mercedes glared at her, not liking what she was saying. Grace bit her lip nervously, not wanting to add fuel to the fire by bringing up that she was Sandy at theater camp but just figured she'd let her audition speak for itself.
"Ladies, let's stop fighting okay? Rachel, since you're so confident why don't you start us off," Mr. Schue said as Brad played her lines which Rachel sang effortlessly.
"Alright, thank you, Mercedes, you can go next," Mr. Schue said as Mercedes sang through the lines more powerfully bringing her own flair to the performance which was also impressive.
"Thank you Mercedes, Grace, why don't you try now?" Mr. Schue said as Grace nodded, nervously taking a deep breath as Brad played the intro to her part.
"You better shape up. Cause I need a man and my heart is set on you. You better shape up, cause you better understand. To my heart I must be true," Grace sang passionately, trying to get into character. Something Rachel seems to scoff at that Grace did so well.
"Thank you Grace…all 3 of you sounded great, really excellent efforts but I think Rachel and Kurt's voices would blend the best together," Mr. Schue said as Rachel gave the other two a knowing smirk, that she would get the lead. Grace tried to applaud her but Mercedes glared at Rachel as the festering rivalry between them was beginning to grow and Grace didn't know how much worse things were going to get, but she prayed it wouldn't end in a blood bath.
