After practice, Quinn approached Finn at their lockers. "Hey…can we talk, alone?" she said seriously as Finn nodded.
"Yeah sure," he said seriously as Quinn headed into another classroom with Finn.
"What did you want to talk about?" he asked, slightly concerned by the apprehensive look on her face.
"Why didn't you tell me you had to join the New Directions?" Quinn asked, narrowing her eyes at Finn.
"Crap…so Grace told you," Finn said, biting his lip.
"Of course she did. She's my sister, she had my back, she always does. The question is why didn't you tell me you were in that club," Quinn said, still glaring at Finn.
"I'm sorry, I just panicked okay. I know how much your reputation means to you and I didn't really have a choice. I mean if I did 6 weeks of detention it would go on my permanent record and my mom would be so disappointed," Finn frowned.
"What did you even do?" Quinn said in shock that Finn of all people would get in that much trouble.
"Mr. Schue found pot in my locker. It wasn't even mine," Finn frowned, upset "I'm going to kill Puck if he was stashing it in there."
Quinn scoffed, shaking her head. "I can't believe that. So he risks your social status because of some pot that wasn't even yours?" she said, upset.
"Yeah…pretty much…but he put his two week's notice in, so I don't have to do that anymore," Finn said trying to reassure Quinn, taking her hands in his "I'm sorry I lied to you all week, I just didn't want anyone to find out until it was over with. Plus I know with homecoming being next week, I just wanted to keep it a secret until after the voting was done so we could win together like you wanted."
Quinn couldn't help but hear her heart race hearing Finn say all of those reassuring words to her, it made her realize he was trying to protect her reputation too. If she had found out Quinn probably would've made a much bigger deal of it, to the point where it could've risked their position as the it couple. So, she understood more than ever before why he kept it a secret.
"So can you forgive me?" Finn asked as Quinn nodded looking deep into his eyes, smiling softly.
"Of course I can. I will always forgive you," Quinn said seriously as she pulled Finn into a passionate kiss, which the two shared for quite some time before coming up for air.
"I will always forgive you too," Finn smiled softly against her lips, things finally feeling like they were getting back to normal between them and they would be, for now.
Rehearsals for the New Directions hadn't gone quite as smoothly as the group had hoped. The group was truly missing out on a key member in Finn. "We need Finn back," Rachel said seriously to the group.
"Well good luck with that, the star quarterback made it pretty clear he wanted nothing to do with us losers," Mercedes said, rolling her eyes as the others murmured in agreement.
"You guys don't get it, I think without Mr. Schue and Finn this club is doomed to fail and don't you guys feel it too? This club is special and being a part of something special makes you special, right?" Rachel said as the New Directions were stunned by what Rachel had to say.
Tina was the first to nod in agreement. "R-Rachel's right W-w-we need to come together," Tina said seriously.
"Thank you Tina, at least someone appreciates my leadership," Rachel said in a determined fashion.
"How exactly are we going to get Finn back?" Grace asked, unsure if there was anything they could do.
"Leave that to me, my fellow glee club members," Rachel said seriously as Grace bit her lip, having a feeling this might end poorly, especially if Quinn got wind of Rachel trying to talk to Finn again.
That afternoon Rachel had approached Finn at his locker as she tried to convince him to return back to the club. "What the hell is she doing?" Quinn scoffed, narrowing her eyes, as she saw the two of them talking.
"Beats me. Should we break it up," Santana smirked back at her best friend.
"Oh you read my mind," Quinn said as she walked over with Santana, pissed off.
"Hi Finn, RuPaul," Quinn shot at Rachel before glaring back at Finn "What are you doing talking to her?"
Finn got the typical nervous look in his eyes as he couldn't seem to come up with a plausible excuse and looked to Rachel, for advice. Something that made Quinn scowl even more.
"Science project. We're lab partners," Rachel said simply as Finn nodded, almost seeming relieved Rachel came up with an excuse.
"Christ Crusaders tonight at 5, my house. Don't be late," Quinn shot at Finn, clearly not believing the lie.
"Sounds great," Finn smiled softly at Quinn who continued to shoot a knowing glare at Rachel as she walked away, something Santana followed suit with.
"Okay is it just me or was he clearly lying to you?" Santana said, shocked.
"Oh he definitely was. That thing probably is trying to get him to go back to the Glee Club again. He better not go back to that club, not with homecoming being this week," Quinn whined, upset.
"Want to sneak into their rehearsal after school on Tuesday?" Santana smirked as Quinn nodded.
"You read my mind. Let's get Coach Sylvester to come with us too, she'll know what to do to get rid of that stupid club," Quinn said determined as Santana chuckled, both girls becoming more determined than before to destroy the Glee Club.
Rachel arrived at Glee Club practice empty handed and slightly disheartened. "Where's the star quarterback?" Kurt asked as Rachel sighed.
"He's not coming. I tried you guys but his reputation seems to matter more to him than us," Rachel frowned.
"Told you so," Mercedes shrugged as Rachel scowled at her, clearly upset. "Let's just start rehearsals okay," Rachel said seriously as the New Directions began to get into place before Tina interrupted them.
"W-Where's Artie?" she asked as Grace looked concerned.
"I thought he was with you..you guys are always together," Kurt said as Tina shook her head.
"W-W-We had c-c-classes on opposite sides," Tina said as Grace looked even more concerned.
"Please don't tell me the jocks have a hold of him," she said worriedly as Tina shrugged, also looking concerned.
"Guys! We can't just stop because he's late," Rachel scoffed as Grace glared at Rachel.
"Rachel! He could be in trouble, who knows what Puck and the other jocks are doing to him," Grace exclaimed, upset.
"Oh I'm sure he's fine. We can't waste precious rehearsal time…can't we just work on the dancing?" Rachel said matter-of-factly.
"You seriously don't care about anyone but yourself do you?" Grace said getting slightly annoyed with Rachel, something Tina nodded at as Rachel scoffed.
"I'm offended by that accusation, Grace," Rachel said, annoyed.
"Grace is right, we are supposed to be a team," Mercedes agreed.
"When I was stuck in the dumpster, you wanted to start rehearsals without me too," Kurt observed as Rachel scoffed.
"Because we have limited time together. This club needs to be great!" Rachel exclaimed, upset.
"I get you want us to be great, but we can't do that if we're not all together," Grace observed as the others murmured in agreement.
"Fine. I'll storyboard the choreography, alone," Rachel huffed going off into a corner starting to do choreography on her own which looked incredibly complicated.
"We should look for Artie," Grace observed.
"I agree, but I can't help," Kurt sighed "I escaped those neanderthals once, I don't know if I'll be so lucky a second time."
"I'll go with you," Mercedes said.
"Me t-t-too," Tina stuttered as the 3 girls headed out of the auditorium to try to get their 6th member back. Their search was fairly short lived when they spotted Finn wheeling Artie down the hall.
"Let's just go back inside," Grace said, relieved to see Artie with Finn as the other two girls nodded, heading back to the auditorium.
"What happened, give up already?" Rachel shot at them, annoyed as the other girls rolled their eyes.
"No, we just saw he was safe and on his way here," Grace said seriously.
"Can we please start working on the choreography please?" Rachel said annoyed.
"Fine…show us what you have so far," Grace said as Rachel eagerly showed them the incredibly elaborate routine that she had crafted. Grace bit her lip, knowing how complicated the moves are. As she finished Mercedes laughed.
"You can't seriously think that we can do all of that," Mercedes shot angrily.
"Yeah it-it's hard," Tina agreed.
"Look, you guys, these steps are not hard. I've been doing them since preschool," Rachel shot at the New Directions who all looked annoyed at her as Finn wheeled Artie into the auditorium.
"I'm sorry, did I miss the election for queen? Because I didn't vote for you," Kurt shot back at Rachel.
"I know what I'm talking about. I won my first dance competition when I was three months old," Rachel shot back at Kurt.
"Rachel, I'm a trained dancer too and even I know those moves are complicated for the average person," Grace said seriously as Rachel scoffed annoyed.
"This is a closed rehearsal," Kurt shot at Finn who he just noticed got there with Artie as everyone else shot him a dirty look.
"Look, I owe you guys an apology. I never should have quit. I don't want to be the guy that just drives around throwing eggs at people," Finn sighed, hating who he was with the jocks.
"That was you?" Rachel said shocked.
"You and your friends threw pee balloons at me," Kurt said simply.
"I know," Finn said apologetically.
"You nailed all my lawn furniture to my roof," Kurt added, still annoyed.
"I wasn't actually there for that, but I'm really sorry," Finn apologized to Kurt who seemed to somewhat accept his apology. "Look, that isn't who I am, and I'm tired of it. This is what I want to be doing, with you guys. I used to think that this was like, the lamest thing on Earth, and maybe it is, but… we're all here for the same reason–'cause we want to be good at something." The New Directions took in everything Finn was saying, knowing they all felt the same exact way.
Finn then turned his attention to each of the New Directions trying to assign them a responsibility. "Artie, you play guitar, right?" Finn asked as Artie nodded "Think you could recruit the jazz band?"
"I do have pull there," Artie nodded as he fixed his glasses.
"All right," Finn grinned excitedly as he then turned to Mercedes "Mercedes, we need new costumes, and they have to be cool. Can you do that?"
Kurt looked slightly disheartened that he wasn't asked to help out with the fashion but tried not to complain.
"Damn, don't you see what I got on?" Mercedes smiled brightly, gesturing to her outfit.
"Grace, you can do choreography," Finn said as Grace nodded, knowing she could figure out what type of choreography everyone could do.
"And what are you bringing to the table, Justin Timberlake?" Mercedes asked Finn.
"I've got the music, and a great duet partner," Finn smiled turning towards Rachel, who perked up "I mean, if you'd still want to sing on lead with me."
"I'd be honored," Rachel beamed with pride.
"Alright team, let's do this," Finn grinned as the New Directions cheered, feeling more together than ever before, glad to once again be a fully completed group.
