The gang walked through the basement, until they came upon a charging station that looked like it had been sealed for a very long time.
"Is he even alive still?" Gregory asked.
"Somehow, he never seems to die." Bonnie muttered. Freddy nudged him. "What? It's true!"
"He's a stubborn man." Evan said. "I wish sometimes that he would just... Die." He felt guilty for saying it, but it was how he truly felt. "Everyone else has been suffering for too long now."
"That includes you, you know." Gregory said.
"I'm kind of used to it." Evan said. "Besides, it's cool to share a body with you." Gregory smiled at the comment. It was cool.
"So... What do we do?" Luna asked. "I'm sure he's not going to wanna talk to us."
"She's got a point there." Bonnie looked at Freddy. "Do we even have a plan?"
"The plan is we open that thing up and ask him why he did what he did." Freddy said.
"You know he's not going to give us the answers to that, Fred." Bonnie said.
The door made a hissing noise, and the animatronics looked down to see that Luna had opened the door. "What are you doing?" Gregory snapped.
"Opening the door." Luna replied, prying it open.
Smoke came out of the charging station, making Luna backup. A greenish yellow paw grabbed the door and pushed it the rest of the way open. A mutated bunny, man, robot came out, making everyone shiver in disgust.
"I don't know how to say this, but your dad is crusty." Luna said.
"Luna!" Gregory snapped on her. "You can't say that."
"Am I wrong?" Luna asked, looking at Springtrap. He was hunched to one side, and looked absolutely disgusting. "Seriously?"
"Fazbear..." The voice that came out of Springtrap sounded like an old broken voice box, mixed in with a painful voice of a man.
"Crusty." Luna whispered to Gregory, who glared at her.
"Afton." Freddy replied, standing protectively in front of the children.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" The broken voice spoke.
"Answers, Afton." Bonnie stepped forward, next to Freddy. "We want answers."
"Ah, Bonnie!" Afton laughed. "How charming. Back together again."
"I don't need your taunts, Afton." Bonnie spat out.
"Gregory..." Afton called. "How you've grown."
Gregory froze up behind Freddy. It was so creepy to hear that, especially now that he knew the reason that Afton had captured him in the first place.
"And you, Evan. Still the same as I remember." Gregory looked over, seeing Evan in shock of seeing his father again. Gregory stepped in front of Evan, fully exposing himself to Afton's view.
"Leave him alone." The boy said. "You have no right to comment on the way he is now."
"Gregory-" Bonnie started, only to be cut off.
"And you do?" Springtrap asked. "How is that so?"
"It's none of your concern." The boy glared at the robot man, earning a smirk in response.
"Just because you're one with him, doesn't mean you've won, Gregory. Don't you remember? I wanted this family." Gregory's eyes widened. "You're simply fulfilling my wish."
"I'm not..." Gregory said. "I'm helping Evan, that's all!"
"You don't need to answer him, Gregory." Bonnie said, putting a paw on the boys shoulder. "He's just trying to get you angry."
"Elizabeth..." Springtrap looked at Luna. "You were the girl."
"I can't be your daughter, Afton." Luna glared at him.
"And why not?" Springtrap took a step closer, but Freddy took a step forward. "Don't challange me, Freddy."
"In the condition you're in, I don't think you'd make it very far." Freddy replied. "Besides... My friends are here, and they are very, very, angry..."
Springtrap and Freddy held eye contract for some time, before Springtrap groaned and turned away. He made his way back to his charging station.
"Evan." He said, turning his head slightly. "I know you don't believe me, but I loved you until the end. I never meant for you to die."
"You didn't mean for any of us to die, but you meant to kill all those other children?" Evan asked. "Do you even care that Mike killed himself to come find you?"
"Micheal is the reason you're dead!" Springtrap snapped.
"No, you're the reason! You could of paid more attention to me, you could of listened to me, instead of bringing me to that place every single day. I was afraid." Evan started crying.
"Evan..." Gregory said, but Evan faded out of existence, light blue remnant flowing around him, before entering into his chest.
"Whoa..." Luna was in awe of what she just saw.
"This isn't over, Afton." Bonnie said. "You haven't told us why you did that to Clara."
There was silence before a sigh was heard from Springtrap. He turned around to face them once again. "Why do you even care? Why are you even talking to me?"
"Killing you, won't fix our problems." Freddy said. "It would just mean we're the same as you, and we're not."
"So you'll leave me here, to rot away?" The robot man was upset. "Who knows what I'll do next."
"Who knows?" Freddy asked. "When it happens, we'll be ready. We're always ready."
"Answer the question, Afton." Bonnie repeated. He was really after answers for Luna, who was still upset about the whole situation. She didn't dare tell anyone besides Moon and Bonnie.
"Clara's parents lost their daughter, as I'm sure you know. They agreed with everyone, I'm sure you know that too. Clara worked here and-"
"Clara worked here to lure children away for you." Freddy cut in.
"I needed to make my family again, with remnant I could of done it. Vanessa was doing so good..." Springtrap said. "She was perfect in every way, just like a daughter to me. Yet you ripped that away from me too..!" He was upset, his eyes glowing purple.
"Freddy, the code!" Gregory said. "The code, it must be with Afton."
"Vanessa... Of course she knew you were down here." Freddy glared and got into a protective stance.
"Vanessa was so perfect... She could of easily been an addition to the family. Once I figured out I could remove memories, I knew I could remove everyone memories of the bad things that had happened, and make the family I truly deserved." Afton laughed as his eyes began glowing brighter. "Awaken... Awaken!" He fell over, smoke coming out of his body.
"We need to get out of here." Freddy said, scooping Luna into the stomach hatch. Bonnie picked up Gregory, and they bolted back to the main area.
"Awaken?" Roxy asked, standing with the crew. "What does that even mean?"
"I don't know, but the basement is off limits." Freddy replied.
"I can't believe 'ye went down there!" Foxy said, holding his hands out. "Are 'ye crazy?"
"He wanted a family and he was willing to kill the children to get it." Chica said. "He hasn't changed at all."
Gregory was listening to the conversation while sitting on a bench by the fountain with Luna, who was currently asleep. Her head rested on his lap, and she was covered with a fazbear sweater. How could Afton justify his actions? He must of been a very broken man if he was thinking like this. However, Gregory couldn't help but give some sympathy to him. He didn't like it, and didn't understand why he was sympathizing with him, and it made the boy upset.
"Freddy." Gregory called. "Can we go to bed, please?"
"I'm sorry, Superstar." Freddy said. "Right away." The animatronics all went back to their room, and Bonnie came to pick up Luna.
While Bonnie entered the room, Gregory stopped, and pulled Freddy's hand.
"What's the matter?" Freddy asked, leaning down.
"I... I want to build Evan a new body." Gregory said. "I think it's time now."
"Are you sure? I thought you were happy with Evan."
"I am." He replied. "But... I don't know, Afton makes me feel like... Bad."
"No..." Freddy brushed the hair out of the boys eyes. "You're not bad, Gregory. You're a very smart boy, with very big ideas." Freddy hugged him, and the boy hugged back, crying. "Oh, Superstar."
The two hugged for a while, while Bonnie watched through the glass, guilt in his cervos. He sighed and looked over at Luna, who was fast asleep. "Don't blame yourselves..." Bonnie whispered. "It only makes it worse."
